1A comprehensive classification method for VOC emission sources to tackle air pollution based on VOC species reactivity and emission amounts显示文摘In China, volatile organic compound(VOC) control directives have been continuously released and implemented for important sources and regions to tackle air pollution. The corresponding control requirements were based on VOC emission amounts(EA), but never considered the significant differentiation of VOC species in terms of atmospheric chemical reactivity. This will adversely influence the effect of VOC reduction on air quality improvement. Therefore,this study attempted to develop a comprehensive classification method for typical VOC sources in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region(BTH), by combining the VOC emission amounts with the chemical reactivities of VOC species. Firstly, we obtained the VOC chemical profiles by measuring 5 key sources in the BTH region and referencing another 10 key sources, and estimated the ozone formation potential(OFP) per ton VOC emission for these sources by using the maximum incremental reactivity(MIR) index as the characteristic of source reactivity(SR). Then, we applied the data normalization method to respectively convert EA and SR to normalized EA(NEA) and normalized SR(NSR) for various sources in the BTH region.Finally, the control index(CI) was calculated, and these sources were further classified into four grades based on the normalized CI(NCI). 5Wave dispersion and attenuation in viscoelastic isotropic media containing multiphase flow and its application显示文摘In this paper,we introduce the complex modulus to express the viscoelasticity of a medium.According to the correspondence principle,the Biot-Squirt(BISQ)equations in the steady-state case are presented for the space-frequency domain described by solid displacements and fluid pressure in a homogeneous viscoelastic medium.The effective bulk modulus of a multiphase flow is computed by the Voigt formula,and the characteristic squirt-flow length is revised for the gas-included case.We then build a viscoelastic BISQ model containing a multiphase flow.Through using this model,wave dispersion and attenuation are studied in a medium with low porosity and low permeability.Furthermore,this model is applied to observed interwell seismic data.Analysis of these data reveals that the viscoelastic parameter tanδ is not a constant.Thus,we present a linear frequency-dependent function in the interwell seismic frequency range to express tanδ.This improves the fit between the observed data and theoretical results.YANG Lei YANG DingHui NIE JianXin 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,6:13
6TaqMan Real-time RT-PCR Assay for Detecting and Differentiating Japanese Encephalitis Virus显示文摘Objective To detect Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV) rapidly and distinguish its genotypes, a TaqMan-based reverse transcriptase quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) detection system was developed.Methods By aligning the full-length sequences of JEV(G1-G5), six sets of highly specific TaqMan real-time RT-PCR primers and probes were designed based on the highly conserved NS1, NS2, and M genes of JEV, which included one set for non-specific JEV detection and five sets for the detection of specific JEV genotypes. Twenty batches of mosquito samples were used to evaluate our quantitative PCR assay.Results With the specific assay, no other flavivirus were detected. The lower limits of detection of the system were 1 pfu/mL for JEV titers and 100 RNA copies/μL. The coefficients of variation of this real-time RT-PCR were all < 2.8%. 7DDIT4 promotes gastric cancer proliferation and tumorigenesis through the p53 and MAPK pathways显示文摘Background:Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common malignancies worldwide,particularly in China.DNA damage-inducible transcript 4(DDIT4)is a mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor and is induced by various cellular stresses;however,its critical role in GC remains poorly understood.The present study aimed to investigate the poten-tial relationship and the underlying mechanism between DDIT4 and GC development.Methods:We used western blotting,real-time polymerase chain reaction,and immunohistochemical or immunoflu-orescence to determine DDIT4 expression in GC cells and tissues.High-content screening,cell counting kit-8 assays,colony formation,and in vivo tumorigenesis assays were performed to evaluate cell proliferation.Flow cytometry was used to investigate cell apoptosis and cell cycle distribution.Results:DDIT4 was upregulated in GC cells and tissue.Furthermore,downregulating DDIT4 in GC cells inhibited proliferation both in vitro and in vivo and increased 5-fluorouracil-induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.In contrast,ectopic expression of DDIT4 in normal gastric epithelial cells promoted proliferation and attenuated chemosensitivity.Further analysis indicated that the mitogen-activated protein kinase and p53 signaling pathways were involved in the suppression of proliferation,and increased chemosensitivity upon DDIT4 downregulation.Conclusion:DDIT4 promotes GC proliferation and tumorigenesis,providing new insights into the role of DDIT4 in the tumorigenesis of human GC.Feng Du Lina Sun Yi Chu Tingyu Li Chao Lei Xin Wang Mingzuo Jiang Yali Min Yuanyuan Lu Xiaodi Zhao Yongzhan Nie Daiming Fan 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:10

10Intermetallic PtBi core/ultrathin Pt shell nanoplates for efficient and I stable methanol and ethanol electro-oxidization显示文摘The development of Pt-based core/shell nanoparticles represents an emerging class of electrocatalysts for fuel cells, such as methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) and ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). Here, we present a one-pot synthesis approach to prepare hexagonal PtBi/Pt core/shell nan ostructure composed of an in termetallic PtiBii core and an ultrathi n Pt shell with well-defined shape, size, and composition.The structure and the synergistic effect among different components enhanced their MOR and EOR performanee. The optimized Pt2Bi nanoplates exhibit excellent mass activities in both MOR (4,820 mA·mgpt^-1) and EOR (5,950 mA·mgpt^1) conducted in alkaline media, which are 6.15 times and 8.63 times higher than those of commercial Pt/C, respectively. Pt2Bi nan opiates also show superior operati on durability to commercial Pt/C. 17FRUCTOKINASE-LIKE PROTEIN 1 interacts with TRXz to regulate chloroplast development in rice显示文摘Chloroplast genes are transcribed by the plastidencoded RNA polymerase(PEP) or nucleus-encoded RNA polymerase. FRUCTOKINASE-LIKE PROTEINS(FLNs) are phosphofructokinase-B(Pfk B)-type carbohydrate kinases that act as part of the PEP complex; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying FLN activity in rice remain elusive.Previously, we identified and characterized a heat-stress sensitive albino(hsa_1) mutant in rice. Map-based cloning revealed that HSA_1 encodes a putative OsFLN_2. Here, we further demonstrated that knockdown or knockout of the OsFLN_1, a close homolog of HSA_1/OsFLN_2, considerably inhibits chloroplast biogenesis and the fln_1 knockout mutants, created by clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR) and CRISPR-associate protein_9, exhibit severe albino phenotype and seedling lethality. Moreover, OsFLN_1 localizes to the chloroplast.Yeast two-hybrid, pull-down and bimolecular fluorescencecomplementation experiments revealed that OsFLN_1 and HSA_1/OsFLN_2 interact with THIOREDOXINZ(OsTRXz) to regulate chloroplast development. In agreement with this,knockout of OsTRXz resulted in a similar albino and seedling lethality phenotype to that of the fln_1 mutants. Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunoblot analysis revealed that the transcription and translation of PEP-dependent genes were strongly inhibited in fln_1 and trxz mutants, indicating that loss of OsFLN_1, HSA_1/OsFLN_2, or OsTRXz function perturbs the stability of the transcriptionally active chromosome complex and PEP activity. 18Development of a multiplex reverse transcription-PCR assay for simultaneous detection of garlic viruses显示文摘A preliminary screening for garlic viruses in garlic plants in Hunan,China,using existing monoplex(simplex) reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) procedures detected four viruses/virus groups.These viruses/virus groups were Onion yellow dwarf virus(OYDV),Leek yellow stripe virus(LYSV),Shallot latent virus(SLV) and allexiviruses(e.g.,garlic viruses A,B,C,D,E,X).Sequence analysis of the projected allexivirus amplicons revealed the allexivirus in the infected garlic plants was Garlic virus D(GarV-D),which shared 92-97%sequence identities with various isolates from the world.A multiplex RT-PCR(mRT-PCR) was therefore developed to simultaneously detect and differentiate the four viruses/virus groups.To achieve this,four primer pairs targeting allexiviruses,OYDV,LYSV and SLV were designed.The anticipated amplicon sizes are 183 bp(allexiviruses),265 bp(OYDV),404 bp(LYSV) and 592 bp(SLV),respectively.All primer pairs produced virus-specific fragments in both simplex and multiplex formats,thus confirming the efficacy of the newly developed mRT-PCR for detection of these viruses.The mRT-PCR further was evaluated by applying it to garlic plant samples collected in two geographic locations in Hunan.Allexiviruses,OYDV,LYSV and SLV were detected in 50.9,40.3,28.3 and 58.5%of leaf samples,respectively;and mixed infections with two or more viruses accounted for 54%of the garlic samples.The results obtained by mRT-PCR were confirmed by simplex RT-PCR assays.In conclusion,this newly developed mRT-PCR provides a rapid,sensitive and reliable method for the detection and identification of major garlic viruses.HU Xin-xi LEI Yan WANG Pei TANG Lin-fei HE Chang-zheng SONG Yong XIONG Xing-yao NIE Xian-zhou 2015Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,5:6
19Causes of rockfalls in Al-Huwayshah area,Yemen显示文摘According to topography of Yemen,most areas and villages are located at obligated crest,toe of mountain and under cliffs.Therefore Al-Huwayshah consisting of Tawilah sandstone group is characterized by steep slope reach to 90° in some areas.This area is affected by strong tectonic movements and faults that occurred during the geological epochs.This effect enhances to find out fractures and joints as well as the rocks become brittle and ready to slide depending on the position of area.And there are some fractures and joints on the surface of the areas due to tectonic movement associated with opening the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.The rainfalls,fractures,joints,earthquakes,gravity,vegetations,temperatures and human activities play a big role in the processes of rockfalls and landslides in this area.All those factors are considered as the basic causes and catalyzed factors for occurrence of rockfall in the studide area.In addition,the authors carried out laboratory test for many rock samples to get the physical properties of the rocks.Aref M. 20Multi-dimension apportionment of clean air “parade blue”phenomenon in Beijing显示文摘The mass concentration and major chemical components of fine particulate matter were measured before,during and after Beijing's massive parade commemorating 70th anniversary of the Chinese Victory in World War II on September 3,2015.Regional emission inventory,positive matrix factorization(PMF),observations from space and backward air mass trajectories were jointly applied to identify the major pollution sources and their temporal and spatial variations.The contributions of emissions variations and the meteorological conditions related to the'parade blue'phenomenon in Beijing and its surrounding areas were investigated in detail.The main cause of the decreased PM_(2.5)mass concentration was attributed to the absolute reduction in emissions of primary air pollutants.The chemical composition of PM_(2.5)varied significantly before,during and after the parade.Fugitive dust particles were well controlled,the secondary formation of PM_(2.5)was reduced along with the controlled gaseous precursors'emissions from vehicles and industrial sources during the temporary intensified control period.During the parade period,the SO_2and NO_2column concentrations in Beijing and the surrounding areas decreased sharply,indicating that the coordinated reduction in primary emissions from the surrounding areas of Beijing played an important role in lowering the ambient concentration of SO_2and NO_2and accordingly lowered PM_(2.5)and improved the regional air quality.A comparison of the temperature,humidity,and wind speed and direction during the same periods in 2014 and 2015 showed that the meteorological conditions positively influenced the achievement of'parade blue'.Yifeng Xue Yong Wang Xuefeng Li Hezhong Tian Lei Nie Xiaoqing Wu Junrui Zhou Zhen Zhou 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:5
