Global Dynamic Molecular Profiling of Stomatal Lineage Cell Development by Single-Cell RNA Sequencing显示文摘The regulation of stomatal lineage cell development has been extensively investigated. However,a comprehensive characterization of this biological process based on single-cell transcriptome analysis has not yet been reported. In this study,we performed RNA sequencing on 12844 individual cells from the cotyledons of 5-day-old Arabidopsis seedlings. We identified 11 cell clusters corresponding mostly to cells at specific stomatal developmental stages using a series of marker genes.Comparative analysis of genes with the highest variable expression among these cell clusters revealed transcriptional networks that regulate development from meristemoid mother cells to guard mother cells.Examination of the developmental dynamics of marker genes via pseudo-time analysis revealed potential interactions between these genes.Collectively, our study opens the door for understanding how the identified novel marker genes participate in the regulation of stomatal lineage cell development. | Zhixin Liu Yaping Zhou Jinggong Guo Jiaoai Li Zixia Tian Zhinan Zhu Jiajing Wang Rui Wu Bo Zhang Yongjian Hu Yijing Sun Yan Shangguan Weiqiang Li Tao Li Yunhe Hu Chenxi Guo Jean-David Rochaix Yuchen Miao Xuwu Sun | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,8: | 11
The dimension and morphology of alveolar bone at maxillaryanterior teeth in periodontitis: a retrospective analysis usingCBCT显示文摘The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth in periodontitis patients was evaluated by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT) to investigate the distribution of alveolar defects and provide guidance for clinical practice. Ninety periodontitis patients and 30 periodontally healthy individuals were selected to determine the morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth according to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. The differences in the dimensions between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals were compared, and the distribution of alveolar bone defects was analyzed.A classification system was established regarding the sagittal positions and angulations of the teeth. The buccal residual bone was thicker and the lingual bone was thinner in the periodontitis patients than in the periodontally healthy individuals, and there were differences between the different tooth types, sexes and age subgroups. The buccal undercut was close to the alveolar ridge, while fenestration was reduced and the apical bone height was higher in periodontitis patients than in periodontally healthy individuals. The apical bone height increased with the aggravation of bone loss and age. The proportions of different sagittal positions changed with the aggravation of bone loss. Moreover, the teeth moved more buccally regarding the positions of the maxillary anterior teeth. The morphology of the alveolar bone at the maxillary anterior teeth differed between periodontitis patients and healthy individuals, and the differences were related to the degree of bone loss, tooth type, sex and age. | Xue Zhang Yuchao Li Ziming Ge Haijiao Zhao Lei Miao Yaping Pan | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,1: | 10
Maternal exposure to triclosan constitutes a yet unrecognized risk factor for autism spectrum disorders显示文摘Dear Editor,Autism spectrum disorders(ASD)are complex neurodevelopmental disorders characteristic of core behavioral traits like restricted, repetitive behaviors and deficiency in social interactions.1 The prevalence of ASD has rapidly increased worldwide, rising from 1/149 in 2000,1/68 in 2012,and to?1/40 in 2016 of children at the age of 3-17 in the United States.2 ASD prevalence was found to be associated with socioeconomic status(SES)as overpresented in high-income households,3 and to be significantly enriched in certain regions,e.g.,reaching up to 4.88%in Florida.2 In the last decades, advances in genetic studies have led to unprecedented understanding of the genetic factors that were associated with<50%of human ASD. | Zijian Hao Qionghui Wu Zhengwei Li Yali Li Qiu Li Xi Lai Huan Liu Menghuan Zhang Ting Yang Jie Chen Yaping Tang Jingkun Miao Huatai Xu Tingyu Li Ronggui Hu | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,10: | 5
Laser-induced Janus graphene/poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole)fabrics with intrinsic flame retardancy as flexible sensors and breathable electrodes for fire-fighting field显示文摘Conventional firefighting clothing and fire masks can protect firemen’s safety to a certain extent, whereas cannot perceive environmental hazards and monitor their physical status in real time.Herein,we fabricated two kinds of Janus graphene/poly(pphenylene benzobisoxazole)(PBO)fabrics by laser direct writing approach and evaluated their performance as intelligent firefighting clothes and fire masks. The results showed that the Janus graphene/PBO fabrics were virtually non-combustible and achieved the highest thermal protection time of 18.91 s ever reported in flame, which is due to the intrinsic flame-retardant nature of PBO fibers. The graphene/PBO woven fabrics-based sensor showed good repeatability and stability in human motion monitoring and NO_(2)gas detection.Furthermore, the piezoelectric fire mask was assembled with graphene/PBO nonwoven fabric as electrode layer and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)electrostatic direct writing film as piezoelectric layer. The filtration efficiency of the fire mask reaches 95%for PM_(2.5)and 100%for PM_(3.0),indicating its effective filtration capability for smoke particles in fires. The respiratory resistance of the piezoelectric fire mask(46.8 Pa)was lower than that of commercial masks(49 Pa),showing that it has good wearing comfort.Besides, the piezoelectric fire mask can be sensitive to the speed and intensity of human breathing, which is essential for indirectly reflecting the health of the human body.Consequently, this work provides a facile approach to fabricate next-generation intrinsic flame-retardant smart textiles for smart firefighting. | Yu Luo Yaping Miao Huimin Wang Kai Dong Lin Hou Yanyan Xu Weichun Chen Yao Zhang Yingying Zhang Wei Fan | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 2

Ribonuclease H-like gene SMALL GRAIN2 regulates grain size in rice through brassinosteroid signaling pathway显示文摘Grain size is a key agronomic trait that determines the yield in plants.Regulation of grain size by brassinosteroids(BRs)in rice has been widely reported. However, the relationship between the BR signaling pathway and grain size still requires further study. Here,we isolated a rice mutant, named small grain2(sg2),which displayed smaller grain and a semi-dwarf phenotype. The decreased grain size was caused by repressed cell expansion in spikelet hulls of the sg2 mutant.Using map-based cloning combined with a Mut Map approach,we cloned SG2,which encodes a plant-specific protein with a ribonuclease H-like domain.SG2 is a positive regulator downstream of GLYCOGEN SYNTHASE KINASE2(GSK2)in response to BR signaling, and its mutation causes insensitivity to exogenous BR treatment.Genetical and biochemical analysis showed that GSK2 interacts with and phosphorylates SG2.We further found that BRs enhance the accumulation of SG2 in the nucleus, and subcellular distribution of SG2 is regulated by GSK2 kinase activity. In addition,Oryza sativa OVATE family protein 19(OsOFP19),a negative regulator of grain shape, interacts with SG2 and plays an antagonistic role with SG2 in controlling gene expression and grain size. Our results indicated that SG2 is a new component of GSK2-related BR signaling response and regulates grain size by interacting with Os OFP19. | Yunshuai Huang Hui Dong Changling Mou Ping Wang Qixian Hao Min Zhang Hongmin Wu Fulin Zhang Tengfei Ma Rong Miao Kai Fu Yaping Chen Ziyan Zhu Cheng Chen Qikai Tong Zhuoran Wang Shirong Zhou Xi Liu Shijia Liu Yunlu Tian Ling Jiang Jianmin Wan | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10: | 1

Se-Ni Se_(2) hybrid nanosheet arrays with self-regulated elemental Se for efficient alkaline water splitting显示文摘Understanding the catalytic mechanism of non-noble transition metal electrocatalysts is crucial to designing high-efficiency,low-cost,and durable alternative electrocatalysts for water splitting which comprises the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).In this work,Se-NiSe_(2) hybrid nanosheets with a self-regulated ratio of ionic Se(I-Se) to elemental Se(E-Se) are designed on carbon cloth by solution synthesis and hydrothermal processing. The effects of the I-Se/E-Se ratios on the electrocatalytic characteristics in HER and OER are investigated systematically both experimentally and theoretically. The optimized bifunctional electrocatalyst needs overpotentials of only 133 mV to deliver an HER current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) and 350 mV to generate an OER current density of 100 mA cm^(-2) in1.0 mol L^(-1) KOH.Based on the density-functional theory calculation,surface-adsorbed E-Se is beneficial to optimizing the electron environment and the adsorption/desorption free energy of hydrogen/water of the hybrid catalyst, consequently facilitating the electrocatalytic water splitting process. There is a proper I-Se/E-Se ratio to improve the catalytic activity and kinetics of the reaction and the optimized E-Se adsorption amount can balance the interactions between I-Se and E-Se,so that the catalyst can achieve appropriate Se-H binding and active site exposure for the excellent electrocatalytic activity. To demonstrate the practicality, the assembled symmetrical device can be powered by an AA battery to produce hydrogen and oxygen synchronously. Our results provide a deeper understanding of the catalytic mechanism of transition metal selenides in water splitting and insights into the design of high-efficiency and low-cost electrocatalysts in energy-related applications. | Xiang Peng Yujiao Yan Shijian Xiong Yaping Miao Jing Wen Zhitian Liu Biao Gao Liangsheng Hu Paul K.Chu | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,23: | 1

Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 13 | Revealing the roles of components in glucose selective hydrogenation into 1,2-propanediol and ethylene glycol over Ni-MnO_x-ZnO catalysts显示文摘MnOx-promoted Ni-based catalyst supported by ZnO was developed to selectively hydrogenate glucose into polyols in water at 523 K with a yield of 64.9%. Using glucose, sorbitol, glycerol and LA as the rawmaterials, the roles of nickel, ZnO and MnOx were investigated. The results show that nickel provided a new pathway of glucose to sorbitol and played an important role in the hydrogenation of C3 intermediates to 1,2-propanediol(1,2-PDO). The high yield of 1, 2-PDO was attributed to effective C–C bond cleavage performance of ZnO support promoted by MnOx. ZnO and MnOx contribute to the conversion of glycerol to lactic acid(LA) and LA to 1, 2-PDO, respectively. A concise pathway for hydrogenation of glucose over Ni-based catalyst was proposed. | Yifan Zan Gai Miao Hao Wang Lingzhao Kong Yaping Ding Yuhan Sun | 2019 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,11: | 0

Young Leaf White Stripe encodes a P-type PPR protein required for chloroplast development显示文摘Pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR) proteins function in post-transcriptional regulation of organellar gene expression. Although several PPR proteins are known to function in chloroplast development in rice(Oryza sativa), the detailed molecular functions of many PPR proteins remain unclear. Here, we characterized a rice young leaf white stripe(ylws) mutant, which has defective chloroplast development during early seedling growth.Map-based cloning revealed that YLWS encodes a novel P-type chloroplast-targeted PPR protein with 11 PPR motifs. Further expression analyses showed that many nuclear-and plastid-encoded genes in the ylws mutant were significantly changed at the RNA and protein levels. The ylws mutant was impaired in chloroplast ribosome biogenesis and chloroplast development under low-temperature conditions. The ylws mutation causes defects in the splicing of atpF, ndhA, rpl2,and rps12, and editing of ndhA, ndhB, and rps14transcripts. YLWS directly binds to specific sites in the atpF, ndhA, and rpl2 pre-mRNAs. Our results suggest that YLWS participates in chloroplast RNA group II intron splicing and plays an important role in chloroplast development during early leaf development. | Jie Lan Qibing Lin Chunlei Zhou Xi Liu Rong Miao Tengfei Ma Yaping Chen Changling Mou Ruonan Jing Miao Feng Thanhliem Nguyen Yulong Ren Zhijun Cheng Xin Zhang Shijia Liu Ling Jiang Jianmin Wan | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,7: | 0
