3Effects of organic acids on the leaching process of ion-adsorption type rare earth ore显示文摘To examine the activation of organic acids on the leaching process of ion-adsorption type rare earth ore(IRE-ore), the leaching behavior of rare earth(RE) and zeta potential of IRE-ore were investigated in the absence and presence of carboxylic acids. The results show that all the tested organic acids(acetic acid,malonic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, succinic acid, and malic acid) can promote RE extraction. At relatively high concentrations of organic acids, the activation efficiency of organic acids on RE extraction is generally consistent with their complexation ability; whereas at their low concentrations, the change of zeta potential on the IRE-ore surface with organic acid concentration and p H has a close association with RE extraction, which indicates that organic acids can impact the surface electrical property of IREore via their adsorption/desorption, and thereby increase/decrease the affinity of RE ions to IRE-ore.Therefore the influence of organic acids on the IRE-ore surface electrical property also plays an important role in RE extraction in addition to their complexation with RE ions.Li Wang Chunfa Liao Youming Yang Haibo Xu Yanfei Xiao Chunhua Yan 2017Journal of Rare Earths2017,35,12:23

6Recanalization of extracranial internal carotid artery occlusion A 12-year retrospective study显示文摘This study aimed to summarize therapy experience of carotid endarterectomy, carotid endarterec-tomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, and hybrid surgery for the treatment of extrac-ranial internal carotid artery occlusion. The study included 65 patients with extracranial internal ca-rotid artery occlusion who underwent carotid endarterectomy, carotid endarterectomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, or hybrid surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, China between January 2006 and December 2012. Prior to surgery, all patients underwent perfusion CT or xenon CT to evaluate the occlusion. The procedure for each patient was chosen according to digital subtraction angiography data. The carotid artery was successfully recanalized in 46 of 51 patients who underwent carotid endarterectomy, 9 of 10 patients who underwent carotid endarterectomy combined with Fogarty catheter embolectomy, and 3 of 4 patients who underwent hybrid surgery. 7Generation of B Cell-Deficient Pigs by Highly Efficient CRISPR/Cas9-Mediated Gene Targeting显示文摘Generating B cell-deficient mutant is the first step to produce human antibody repertoires in large animal models. In this study, we applied the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated(Cas) system to target the JHregion of the pig Ig M heavy chain gene which is crucial for B cell development and differentiation. Transfection of Ig M-targeting Cas9 plasmid in primary porcine fetal fibroblasts(PFFs) enabled inducing gene knock out(KO) in up to 53.3% of colonies analyzed, a quarter of which harbored biallelic modification, which was much higher than that of the traditional homologous recombination(HR). With the aid of somatic cell nuclear transfer(SCNT) technology, three piglets with the biallelic Ig M heavy chain gene mutation were produced. The piglets showed no antibody-producing B cells which indicated that the biallelic mutation of the Ig M heavy chain gene effectively knocked out the function of the Ig M and resulted in a B cell-deficient phenotype. 8A unifying approach in simulating the shot peening process using a 3D random representative volume finite element model显示文摘Using a modified 3D random representative volume(RV)finite element model,the effects of model dimensions(impact region and interval between impact and representative regions),model shapes(rectangular,square,and circular),and peening-induced thermal softening on resultant critical quantities(residual stress,Almen intensity,coverage,and arc height)after shot peening are systematically examined.A new quantity,i.e.,the interval between impact and representative regions,is introduced and its optimal value is first determined to eliminate any boundary effect on shot peening results.Then,model dimensions are respectively assessed for all model shapes to reflect the actual shot peening process,based on which shape-independent critical shot peening quantities are obtained.Further,it is found that thermal softening of the target material due to shot peening leads to variances of the surface residual stress and arc height,demonstrating the necessity of considering the thermal effect in a constitutive material model of shot peeing.Our study clarifies some of the finite element modeling aspects and lays the ground for accurate modeling of the SP process.Dianyin HU Ye GAO Fanchao MENG Jun SONG Yanfei WANG Mengxi REN Rongqiao WANG 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,4:13
9Review of Hydrogen Embrittlement in Metals: Hydrogen Diffusion, Hydrogen Characterization, Hydrogen Embrittlement Mechanism and Prevention显示文摘Hydrogen dissolved in metals as a result of internal and external hydrogen can affect the mechanical properties of the metals, principally through the interactions between hydrogen and material defects. Multiple phenomena such as hydrogen dissolution, hydrogen diffusion, hydrogen redistribution and hydrogen interactions with vacancies, dislocations, grain boundaries and other phase interfaces are involved in this process. Consequently, several hydrogen embrittlement(HE) mechanisms have been successively proposed to explain the HE phenomena, with the hydrogen-enhanced decohesion mechanism, hydrogenenhanced localized plasticity mechanism and hydrogen-enhanced strain-induced vacancies being some of the most important. Additionally, to reduce the risk of HE for engineering structural materials in service, surface treatments and microstructural optimization of the alloys have been suggested. In this review, we report on the progress of the studies on HE in metals, with a particular focus on steels. It focuses on four aspects:(1) hydrogen diffusion behavior;(2) hydrogen characterization methods;(3) HE mechanisms;and(4) the prevention of HE. 10Regional Distribution and Sustainable Development Strategy of Mineral Resources in China显示文摘This paper summarizes the distribution and production layout of the major mineral resources in China,including coal,iron ore,copper and bauxite,from a national perspective.It also identifies the incompatibility between the mineral resources distribution and regional economic development.Significant issues with China's mineral resource industry cause challenges for the sustainable development of both the mining industry and the national socio-economy.The sustainability of regional mineral resources and the environmental pollution by mining in the western China were also analyzed.Results show that the distribution of China's mineral resources is misaligned with its regional layout of economic development.China's mineral resources have been over-exploited,and the mineral resources production in the eastern China is unsustainable.The continuously expanding production of mineral resources in the western China has heavily endangered the ecological environment.We propose strategies to boost the sustainable development of mineral resources,including measures to accelerate economic development and enhance the sustainability of domestic mineral resources.We also offer suggestions for scientifically planning the mineral resource prospecting and exploitation and regional economic layout,as well as for proactively undertaking industry transfer in the eastern China and raising the environmental benchmark requirements for the mineral industry in the central and western China.LI Chaofeng WANG Anjian CHEN Xiaojin CHEN Qishen ZHANG Yanfei LI Ying 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,4:11
11Transcriptional landscape of rice roots at the single-cell resolution显示文摘There are two main types of root systems in flowering plants,namely taproot systems of dicots and fibrous root systems found in monocots.Despite this fundamental split,our current knowledge of cellular and molecular mechanism driving root development is mainly based on studies of the dicot model Arabidopsis.However,the world major crops are monocots and little is known about the transcriptional programs underlying cell-type specification in this clade.Here,we report the transcriptomes of more than 20000 single cells derived from root tips of two agronomically important rice cultivars.Using combined computational and experimental analyses we were able to robustly identify most of the major cell types and define novel cell-type-specific marker genes for both cultivars.Importantly,we found divergent cell types associated with specific regulatory programs,including phytohormone biosynthesis,signaling,and response,which were well conserved between the two rice cultivars.In addition,we detected substantial differences between the cell-type transcript profiles of Arabidopsis and rice.These species-specific features emphasize the importance of analyzing tissues across diverse model species,including rice.Taken together,our study provides insight into the transcriptomic landscape of major cell types of rice root tip at single-cell resolution and opens new avenues to study cell-type specification,function,and evolution in plants.Qing Liu Zhe Liang Dan Feng Sanjie Jiang Yifan Wang Zhuoying Du Ruoxi Li Guihua Hu Pingxian Zhang Yanfei Ma Jan ULohmann Xiaofeng Gu 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:9
12Changing Rural Development Inequality in Jilin Province, Northeast China显示文摘Rural development inequality is an important practical issue during the course of full establishment of a ′moderately well-off society′ in modern China,and the objective understanding and evaluation of the status and regional inequality of rural development can provide scientific basis for ′building a new countryside′ and coordination development of rural-urban regions.Based on the county-level data of 2000,2005 and 2009,this paper examines the rural development inequality of Jilin Province in Northeast China by establishing a rural development index.The spatio-temporal dynamic patterns and domain factors are discussed by using the method of exploratory spatial data analysis and multi-regression model.The results are shown as follows.Firstly,most of the counties were in lower development level,which accounted for 58.3%,62.5% and 66.7% of the total counties in 2000,2005 and 2009,respectively.The characteristics of spatial inequality were very obvious at county level.For example,rural development level of Changchun Proper and the proper of seven prefecture-level cities were much higher than that of the surrounding regions.The counties in the eastern and northern Jilin Province were the lowest regions of rural development level,while the middle counties were the rapid growth areas in rural economy.Secondly,Moran′s I of rural development index(RDI) was 0.01,–0.16 and –0.06 in 2000,2005 and 2009,respectively,which indicated that spatial agglomeration of RDI was not obvious in Jilin Province,and took on the characteristic of random distribution.The counties of both the units and its adjacent units have higher development level(HH) were transferred from the western areas to the eastern areas,while the countries of both the units and its adjacent units have lower development level(LL) were diffused from the eastern to middle and western Jilin Province.Finally,the result of multi-regression analysis showed that the improvement of agricultural production condition,development of agricultural economics and the adjustment of industrial structure were the domain factors affecting rural development inequality of Jilin Province in the later ten years.CHENG Yeqing WANG Yanfei WANG Zheye LUO Xiaolong 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,5:9
13MdATG18a overexpression improves basal thermotolerance in transgenic apple by decreasing damage to chloroplasts显示文摘High temperature is an abiotic stress factor that threatens plant growth and development.Autophagy in response to heat stress involves the selective removal of heat-induced protein complexes.Previously,we showed that a crucial autophagy protein from apple,MdATG18a,has a positive effect on drought tolerance.In the present study,we treated transgenic apple(Malus domestica)plants overexpressing MdATG18a with high temperature and found that autophagy protected them from heat stress.Overexpression of MdATG18a in apple enhanced antioxidase activity and contributed to the production of increased beneficial antioxidants under heat stress.Transgenic apple plants exhibited higher photosynthetic capacity,as shown by the rate of CO_(2) assimilation,the maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II(PSII),the effective quantum yield,and the electron transport rates in photosystems I and II(PSI and PSII,respectively).We also detected elevated autophagic activity and reduced damage to chloroplasts in transgenic plants compared to WT plants.In addition,the transcriptional activities of several HSP genes were increased in transgenic apple plants.In summary,we propose that autophagy plays a critical role in basal thermotolerance in apple,primarily through a combination of enhanced antioxidant activity and reduced chloroplast damage.Liuqing Huo Xun Sun Zijian Guo Xin Jia Runmin Che Yiming Sun Yanfei Zhu Ping Wang Xiaoqing Gong Fengwang Ma 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:9
14Distinguishing transgenic from non-transgenic Arabidopsis plants by ~1H NMR-based metabolic fingerprinting显示文摘We have recently reported the construction of an nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabonomics study platform, Automics. To examine the application of Automics in transgenic plants, we performed metabolic fingerprinting analysis, i.e., 1H NMR spectroscopy and multivariate analysis, on wild-type and transgenic Arabidopsis. We found that it was possible to distinguish wild-type from four transgenic plants by PLS-DA following application of orthogonal signal correction (OSC). Scores plot following OSC clearly demon-strates significant variation between the transgenic and non-transgenic groups, suggesting that the metabolic changes among wild-type and transgenic lines are possibly associated with transgenic event. We also found that the major contributing metabolites were some specific amino acids (i.e., threonine and alanine), which could correspond to the insertion of the selective marker BAR gene in the transgenic plants. 15Realization of population inversion between 7S_(1/2) and 6P_(3/2) levels of cesium for four-level active optical clock显示文摘We demonstrate experimentally the population inversion between 7S1/2 and 6P3/2 levels of cesium in thermal cesium cell with a 455.5 nm pumping laser.We calculate the relative population probabilities at each level theoretically with the density matrix method.In a steady state,5.8% atoms are at 7S1/2 level and 2.9% at 6P3/2 level,which builds up the population inversion between the two levels.We obtain the fluorescence spectra produced in thermal cesium cell in our experiment.The measured relative intensity of each available fluorescence spectral line in the experiment agrees very well with the theoretical result.The demonstrated population inversion between 7S1/2 and 6P3/2 levels can be used to construct an active optical clock of four-level system with a wavelength of 1469.9 nm.WANG YanFei WANG DongYing ZHANG TongGang HONG YeLong ZHANG ShengNan TAO ZhiMing XIE XiaoPeng CHEN JingBiao 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:6
16N-doped porous carbon nanofibers sheathed pumpkin-like Si/C composites as free-standing anodes for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Dramatic capacity fading and poor rate performance are two main obstacles that severely hamper the widespread application of the Si anode owing to its large volume variation during cycling and low intrinsic electrical conductivity.To mitigate these issues,free-standing N-doped porous carbon nanofibers sheathed pumpkin-like Si/C composites(Si/C-ZIF-8/CNFs)are designed and synthesized by electrospinning and carbonization methods,which present greatly enhanced electrochemical properties for lithium-ion battery anodes.This particular structure alleviates the volume variation,promotes the formation of stable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film,and improves the electrical conductivity.As a result,the as-obtained free-standing Si/C-ZIF-8/CNFs electrode delivers a high reversible capacity of 945.5 mAh g^(-1) at 0.2 A g^(-1) with a capacity retention of 64% for 150 cycles,and exhibits a reversible capacity of 538.6 mA h g^(-1) at 0.5 A g^(-1) over 500 cycles.Moreover,the full cell composed of a freestanding Si/C-ZIF-8/CNFs anode and commercial LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2)(NCM)cathode shows a capacity of 63.4 mA h g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.2 C,which corresponds to a capacity retention of 60%.This rational design could provide a new path for the development of high-performance Si-based anodes.Yanfei Zeng Yudai Huang Niantao Liu Xingchao Wang Yue Zhang Yong Guo Hong-Hui Wu Huixin Chen Xincun Tang Qiaobao Zhang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:6
17Development and utilization of a new chemically-induced soybean library with a high mutation density显示文摘Mutagenized populations have provided important materials for introducing variation and identifying gene function in plants. In this study, an ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)-induced soybean(Glycine max) population,consisting of 21,600 independent M_2 lines, was developed.Over 1,000 M_(4(5))families, with diverse abnormal phenotypes for seed composition, seed shape, plant morphology and maturity that are stably expressed across different environments and generations were identified. Phenotypic analysis of the population led to the identification of a yellow pigmentation mutant, gyl, that displayed significantly decreased chlorophyll(Chl) content and abnormal chloroplast development. Sequence analysis showed that gyl is allelic to Minn Gold, where a different single nucleotide polymorphism variation in the Mg-chelatase subunit gene(ChlI1a) results in golden yellow leaves. A cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence marker was developed and may be applied to marker-assisted selection for the golden yellow phenotype in soybean breeding. 18High-entropy rare-earth zirconate ceramics with low thermal conductivity for advanced thermal-barrier coatings显示文摘The high-entropy rare-earth zirconate((La_(0.2)Nd_(0.2)Sm_(0.2)Gd_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7),5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HEREZs)ceramics were successfully prepared by a new high-speed positive grinding strategy combined with solid-state reaction method.The microstructure,crystal structure,phase composition,and thermophysical and mechanical properties of the samples were systematically investigated through various methods.Results indicate that the samples have a single-phase defect fluorite-type crystal structure with excellent high-temperature thermal stability.The as-prepared samples also demonstrate low thermal conductivity(0.9–1.72 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)at 273–1273 K)and high coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE,10.9×10^(−6)K^(−1)at 1273 K),as well as outstanding mechanical properties including large Young’s modulus(E=186–257 GPa)and high fracture toughness(KIC).Furthermore,the formation possibility of the as-prepared samples was verified through the first-principles calculations,which suggested the feasibility to form the 5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HE-REZs in the thermodynamic direction.Therefore,in view of the excellent multifunctional properties exhibited by the as-prepared 5RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HE-REZs,they have great potential applications in next-generation thermal-barrier coatings(TBCs).Debao LIU Baolu SHI Liyan GENG Yiguang WANG Baosheng XU Yanfei CHEN 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,6:6
19Mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with phosphonate and amino groups for uranium uptake显示文摘Mesoporous silicas have a very attractive ability of sorption and enrichment of metal ions due to their huge surface area and facile functionalization by organic ligands.In this work,phosphonate-amino bifunctionalized mesoporous silica SBA-15(PA-SBA-15) as U(VI) sorbent was fabricated through post-grafting method.The obtained mesoporous silica was characterized by SEM,XRD,NMR and nitrogen sorption/desorption experiments,which revealed the existence of ordered mesoporous structure with uniform pore diameter and large surface area.The adsorptivity of PA-SBA-15 for U(VI) from aqueous solution was investigated using batch sorption technique under different experimental conditions.The preliminary results show that the U(VI) sorption by PA-SBA-15 is very quick with equilibrium time of less than 1 h,and the U(VI) uptake is as large as 373 mg/g at pH 5.5 under 95 ℃.The sorption isotherm has been successfully modeled by the Langmuir isotherm,suggesting a monolayer homogeneous sorption of U(VI) in PA-SBA-15.The sorption is pH-dependent due to the pH-dependent charge of sorbent in the aqueous solution.The thermodynamics research shows that the sorption is a feasible and endothermic process.Based on these results,PA-SBA-15 could be a promising solid phase sorbent for highly-efficient removal of U(VI) ions from waste water and enrichment of U(VI) from a solution at a very low level.WANG XiaoLiang YUANLiYong WANG YanFei LI ZiJie LIU YaLan FENG YiXiao ZHAO YuLiang CHAI ZhiFang SHI WeiQun 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:6
20Familial Parkinson's Disease-Associated L166P Mutant DJ-1 is Cleaved by Mitochondrial Serine Protease Omi/HtrA2显示文摘Parkinson's disease(PD) is the most common neurodegenerative movement disorder. Mutations in the DJ-1, including L166 P, are responsible for recessive earlyonset PD. Many lines of evidence have shown that L166 P is not only a loss-of-function mutant, but also a proapoptotic-like protein that results in mitochondrial dysfunction. L166 P has been reported to be unstable and to mislocalize to mitochondria. However, the mechanisms underlying the instability of L166 P compared to wild-type DJ-1 remain largely unknown. Here, we showed that Omi/Htr A2, a mitochondrial serine protease that has also been linked to the pathogenesis of PD, contributed to L166 P instability. Omi directly interacted with and cleaved L166 P in mitochondria to decrease the L166 P level. However,Omi did not bind and cleave wild-type DJ-1. Moreover,Omi cleaved L166 P at both serine residues 3 and 121,while L166 P-induced cell death under H_2O_2 treatment was alleviated by over-expression of Omi.
