| 1 | Evaluating the fractionation of ion-adsorption rare earths for in-situ leaching and metallogenic mechanism显示文摘The fractionation of ion adsorption rare earths(IAREs) along the depth in a shaft of a deposit at Dajishan,Jiangxi, China was comparatively evaluated using the partition values(PVs) and relative fractionation values(RFVs) of the leached rare earths(REs). It is found that both PVs and RFVs can objectively reflect the migration and fractionation of REs, but RE content and abrasion pH could not. However, the RFVs can provide more information to quantitatively evaluating the migration and fractionation characteristics of REs along the selected direction and region than PVs could, which is of significance for designing the optimal procedures of in-situ leaching based on the determined flow direction of injecting solution. It is demonstrated that the migration of Ce, Pr, and Nd along the depth direction is inert, and that of REs post Sm and Y is active. Meanwhile, the migration of La shows region characteristics which is active in the upper and inert in lower region. More interesting, the dependence of RFVs on atomic number of REs displays a tetrad group variation trend. However, the fractionation of REs among clay minerals with different particle sizes is not evident, especially for the clay in the bottom region. | 2 | Modeling of Isobutane/Butene Alkylation Using Solid Acid Catalysts in a Fixed Bed Reactor显示文摘A dynamic mass transfer model of isobutane/butene alkylation over solid acid catalysts in a fixed bed reactor was established. In the model, a modified equation for the relationship between point activity and effective diffusion coefficient was proposed. It is found that the simulation results fit the experimental data well and the breakthrough time of the bed layer is predicted accurately. By modeling the alkylation process, the time-space distribution of butene and point activity profiles of catalysts can be obtained. Furthermore, the reasons for the deactivation of solid acid catalysts were investigated. Then, the properties before and after heating were examined through tensile and hardness experiments. The microstructures were also analyzed by optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The relationship between the properties and microstructure was examined as well. Finally, the evolution process of cold-rolled microstructures during heating was discussed in detail. | 4 | Compact and broadband multimode waveguide bend by shape-optimizing with transformation optics显示文摘Multimode waveguide bend is one of the key components for realizing high-density mode-division multiplexing systems on chip.However,the reported multimode waveguide bends are either large,bandwidth-limited or fabrication-complicated,which hinders their applications in future high-density multimode photonic circuits.Here we propose a compact multimode waveguide bend supporting four TE modes simply by shape-optimizing with transformation optics.The shape of the waveguide is optimized in the virtual space with gradient distribution of the refractive index,so that the scattering loss and intermode cross talk are well suppressed.After conformal mapping back into the physical space,a compact(effective radius of 17μm)multimode bending waveguide is obtained.Simulations show that the proposed multimode waveguide bend has little loss(<0.1 dB)and low cross talk(<−20 dB)throughout an ultrabroad wavelength range of 1.16–1.66μm.We also fabricated the shape-optimized multimode bending waveguide on a silicon-on-insulator wafer.At 1550 nm wavelength,the measured excess losses for the four lowest-order TE modes are less than 0.6 dB,and the intermode cross talks are all below−17 dB.Our study paves the way for realizing high-density and large-scale multimode integrated optical circuits for optical interconnect. | SHUYI LI LIFENG CAI DINGSHAN GAO JIANJI DONG JIN HOU CHUNYONG YANG SHAOPING CHEN XINLIANG ZHANG | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,12: | 3 |

| 8 | Influence of Surface Nanocrystallization on Ti Ion Implantation of Pure Iron显示文摘In order to increase the depth or concentration of Ti ion implantation of pure iron, the surface mechanical attrition treatment(SMAT), which can fabricate a nanometer-grained surface layer without porosity and contamination in a pure iron plate, was used before ion implantation. Ti ion was implanted into the SMA treated sample and coarse-grained counterpart by using a metal vapor vacuum arc source implanter. The changing of depth and concentration of Ti was studied in a function of implantation time.By optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, the grain size of the nano structured surface was studied. Micro-hardness, friction and wear behavior of nano surface layers were studied. By energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Auger electron spectroscopy, the chemical composition and concentration of Ti ion in the surface implantation layer were studied. Experimental results showed that the concentration of Ti increased dramatically compared with untreated coarsegrained samples, which is attributed to the existence of higher density of defects(supersaturated vacancies, dislocations, non-equilibrium grain boundaries etc.) and compression stress field in the SMA treated nanocrystallined surface layer. The interaction between the defects and the implanted solute atoms leads to the increment of solid solubility. But the implantation depth showed inconspicuous change. | 13 | Doping profile modification approach of the optimization of HfO_x based resistive switching device by inserting AlO_x layer显示文摘Hf Ox based resistive switching devices with thin Al Ox layer inserted between Hf Ox and Ti N top electrode(TE) and Pt bottom electrode(BE) were fabricated respectively. Both devices show robust bipolar resistive switching phenomenon. Experimental result reveals that Ti N/Al Ox/Hf Ox/Pt device with appropriately thick Hf Ox film shows significant enhancement in performance as compared with other samples, having lower voltage and excellent uniformity. The role of inserted Al Ox layer and thickness of Hf Ox film on resistive switching properties are discussed and clarified through comparative experiments, which is considered to be a doping effect. The experimental result is consistent with the model where resistive switching happens near Ti N top electrode(TE) due to partial rupture and reconstruction of conducting filaments(CFs) assisted by the doping. | 17 | Yes-associated protein contributes to magnesium alloy-derivedinflammation in endothelial cells显示文摘Magnesium alloy(Mg alloy)has attracted massive attention in the potential applications of cardiovascular stents because of its good biocompatibility and degradability.However,whether and how the Mg alloy induces inflammation in endothelial cells remains unclear.In the present work,we investigated the activation of Yes-associated protein(YAP)upon Mg alloy stimuli and unveiled the transcriptional function in Mg alloy-induced inflammation.Quantitative RT–PCR,western blotting and immunofluorescence staining showed that Mg alloy inhibited the Hippo pathway to facilitate nuclear shuttling and activation of YAP in human coronary artery endothelial cells(HCAECs).Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed sequencing was carried out to explore the transcriptional function of YAP in Mg alloy-derived inflammation.This led to the observation that nuclear YAP further bonded to the promoter region of inflammation transcription factors and co-transcription factors.This binding event activated their transcription and modified mRNA methylation of inflammation-related genes through regulating the expression of N6-methyladenosine modulators(METTL3,METTL14,FTO and WTAP).This then promoted inflammation-related gene expression and aggravated inflammation in HCAECs.In YAP deficiency cells,Mg alloy-induced inflammation was reduced.Collectively,our data suggest that YAP contributes to the Mg alloy-derived inflammation in HCAECs and may provide a potential therapeutic target that alleviates inflammation after Mg alloy stent implantation. | Hongchi Yu Zhe Hou Nuoya Chen Rifang Luo Li Yang Michael Miao Xiaoyi Ma Lifeng Zhou Fugui He Yang Shen Xiaoheng Liu Yunbing Wang | 2022 | Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Electrostatic beneficiation of fly ash in a free-falling system显示文摘A systematic study of fly ash electrostatic beneficiation in a free-falling separation system was carried out to provide fundamental understanding of the separation efficiency for the design of a suitable process for industrial applications. The parameters investigated included feeding position, electric field strength, particle size and moisture content. Particles larger than 105 m presented the best separation efficiency among four different size fractions, whereas particles smaller than 44 m showed minimal separation. However, sonication treatments helped separation by liberating more carbon from ash particles, although particle sizes were reduced as well. Experiments also showed that exposure to moisture significantly altered charging behavior of fly ash and its subsequent separation due to more free mobile ion-induced charge exchanges. The optimal feeding position was found to be slightly on the side of the negative electrode, leading to a 30% reduction in loss-on-ignition (LOI) and a 45% recovery in a single pass.
