| 1 | Developing the Science Product Algorithm Testbed for Chinese Next-Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellites:Fengyun-4 Series显示文摘Fengyun-4A(FY-4A), the first of the Chinese next-generation geostationary meteorological satellites, launched in2016, offers several advances over the FY-2: more spectral bands, faster imaging, and infrared hyperspectral measurements. To support the major objective of developing the prototypes of FY-4 science algorithms, two science product algorithm testbeds for imagers and sounders have been developed by the scientists in the FY-4 Algorithm Working Group(AWG). Both testbeds, written in FORTRAN and C programming languages for Linux or UNIX systems, have been tested successfully by using Intel/g compilers. Some important FY-4 science products, including cloud mask, cloud properties, and temperature profiles, have been retrieved successfully through using a proxy imager, Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager(AHI), and sounder data, obtained from the Atmospheric Infra Red Sounder, thus demonstrating their robustness. | 3 | Artificial intelligence in drug design显示文摘Thanks to the fast improvement of the computing power and the rapid development of the computational chemistry and biology,the computer-aided drug design techniques have been successfully applied in almost every stage of the drug discovery and development pipeline to speed up the process of research and reduce the cost and risk related to preclinical and clinical trials.Owing to the development of machine learning theory and the accumulation of pharmacological data, the artificial intelligence(AI) technology, as a powerful data mining tool, has cut a figure in various fields of the drug design, such as virtual screening,activity scoring, quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR) analysis, de novo drug design, and in silico evaluation of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity(ADME/T) properties. | 4 | Anomalously low ozone of 1997 and 2011 Arctic spring: Monitoring results and analysis显示文摘Total ozone observations from the Total Ozone Unit (TOU) aboard the Chinese second generation polar orbiting mete- orological satellite, Fengyun-3/A (FY-3/A), revealed that total column ozone over the Arctic declined rapidly from the beginning of March 2011. An extensive region of low column amount formed around mid March; monthly mean total column ozone in March 2011 was about 30% lower than the average observed during 1979-2010. Daily total column density of ozone near the center of low ozone area in mid March was less than 240 Dobson units, about half the total column ozone amount observed during the same period of the prior 10 years. We analyzed total column ozone data from different satellites during 1979-2011. Results show that the Arctic depletion of ozone in spring 2011 was initiated by the cold polar vortex in the lower stratosphere. The March mean total ozone over the Arctic has shown a decreasing trend over the past 32 years, and its variation is strongly correlated with the polar vortex. | 6 | Hierarchical Micropore/Nanorod Apatite Hybrids In-Situ Grown from 3-D Printed Macroporous Ti6Al4V Implants with Improved Bioactivity and Osseointegration显示文摘The advent of three-dimensional(3-D) printed technique provides great possibility in the fabrication of customized porous titanium(Ti) implant. However, the bioinert property of the printed Ti poses an outstanding problem. Hybrid micro-arc oxidation and hydrothermal(MAO–HT) treatment on porous metals is able to produce multi-scaled hierarchical orthopedic implant, showing great potential for surface modification of 3-D printed implant. In this study, cylindrical porous Ti6Al4V(Ti64) scaffolds with pore size of 640 μm, porosity of 73% were 3-D printed by electron beam melting process, and their surfaces were left untreated or treated by a combined MAO–HT procedure. In vitro bioactivity was tested by immersion in simulated body fluid for different time points. Then, 12 scaffolds in each group were implanted into the femoral condyles of New Zealand rabbit for 8 weeks. Osseointegration was evaluated by qualitative and quantitative histological analysis, and the bone ingrowth features were probed by sequential fluorescent labeling at 3 and 6 weeks post-surgery. Following the MAO–HT treatment, the porous Ti64 scaffold was endowed with multi-scaled micro/nano-topographies and high amounts of Ca P on its surface.The treated scaffold exhibited drastically enhanced apatite forming ability compared with the untreated one. In vivo test revealed significantly that a higher amount of bone ingrowth and bone implant contact at the treated scaffold. The 2 types of scaffolds had different patterns of bone ingrowth: the treated scaffold exhibited a pattern of contact osteogenesis, by which bone formed directly on the treated implant surface, whereas bone formed distal to the implant surface of the untreated scaffold. | 9 | Influence of Near Real-Time Green Vegetation Fraction Data on Numerical Weather Prediction by WRF over North China显示文摘The green vegetation fraction(GVF)can greatly influence the partitioning of surface sensible and latent heat fluxes in numerical weather prediction(NWP)models.However,the multiyear averaged monthly GVF climatology—the most commonly used representation of the vegetation state in models—cannot capture the real-time vegetation state well.In this study,a near real-time(NRT)GVF dataset generated from an 8-day composite of the normalized difference vegetation index is compared with the 10-yr averaged monthly GVF provided by the WRF model.The annual variability of the GVF over North China is examined in detail.Many differences between the two GVF datasets are found over dryland,grassland,and cropland/grassland mosaic areas.Two experiments using different GVF datasets are performed to assess the impacts of GVF on forecasts of screen-level temperature and humidity.The results show that using NRT GVF can lead to a widespread reduction of 2-m temperature forecast errors from April to October.Evaluation against in-situ observations shows that the positive impact on 2-m temperature forecasts in the morning is more distinct than that in the afternoon.Our study demonstrates that NRT GVF can provide a more realistic representation of the vegetation state,which in turn helps to improve short-range forecasts in arid and semiarid regions of North China.Moreover,our study shows that the negative effect of using NRT GVF is closely related to the initial soil moisture. | Bing LU Jiqin ZHONG Wei WANG Shihao TANG Zhaojun ZHENG | 2021 | Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,3: | 0 |

| 11 | Effects of 1,9-dibromnonane on the structural, photophysical properties and stability of cesium lead bromide perovskite nanocrystals显示文摘The CsPbBr3@Cs4PbBr6 nanocrystals(NCs) could be synthesized by multiple Cs-oleate injections as adding the 1,9-dibromnonane in the reaction solution. The 1,9-dibromnonane could provide Br-ions and the rich Br-ions effectively restrain the generation of Cs Br. The Cs4 PbBr6 wrapped around the Cs Pb Br3 NCs and the size of crystalline grain was increased with increasing the Cs-oleate as excess oleylamine. The quantum yield for 14 S4 DN reached to 99.3% due to the decrease of defects and the surface passivation of Cs4 PbBr6. There are more oleylammonium bromide on the surface of Cs Pb Br3 NCs as synthesized with1,9-dibromnonane. The ligand shell and the surface passivation of Cs4 PbBr6 restrained the decomposition of surface, consequently improved the stability of moisture and light for Cs Pb Br3 NCs. When the CsPbBr3@Cs4PbBr6 NCs were immersed in water under UV light(365 nm) for 2 h, the PL intensity could retain 90.4%, while the 11 S1(traditional Cs Pb Br3 NCs) was only 10.9%. | 12 | Mid-wavelength InAs/GaSb type-Ⅱ superlattice barrier detector with nBn design and M barrier显示文摘This study reports the performance of an InAs/GaSb type-Ⅱ superlattices(T2SLs) detector with nBn structure for mid-wavelength infrared(MWIR) detection. An electronic band structure of M barrier is calculated using 8-band k·p method, and the nBn structure is designed with the M barrier. The detector is prepared by wet etching, which is simple in manufacturing process. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscope(AFM) characteristics indicate that the detector material has good crystal quality and surface morphology. The saturation bias of the spectral response measurements at 77 K is 300 m V, and the device is promising to work at a temperature of 140 K. Energy gap of T2SLs versus temperature is fitted by the Varshni curve, and zero temperature bandgap Eg(0), empirical coefficients α and β are extracted. A dark current density of 3.2×10-5A/cm2and differential resistance area(RA) product of 1.0×104Ω·cm2are measured at 77 K. The dominant mechanism of dark current at different temperature ranges is analyzed. | 13 | Random Forest-Based Snow Cover Mapping in China Using Fengyun-3B VIRR Data显示文摘Currently,there is variability in the spectral band thresholds for snow cover recognition using remote sensing in different regions and for complex terrains.Using Fengyun-3B Visible and Infra-Red Radiometer(FY-3B VIRR)satellite data,we applied random forest(RF)methodology and selected 13 feature variables to obtain snow cover.A training set was generated,containing approximately 1 million snow and nonsnow samples obtained in China from the snow monitoring reports issued by the National Satellite Meteorological Centre and four snow cover products from the Interactive Multi-sensor Snow and Ice Mapping System(IMS),the FY-3B Multi-Sensor Synergy(MULSS),the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)snow cover product(MYD10A1),and the National Cryosphere Desert Data Center(NCDC).This training set contained many different samples of cloud types and snow under forest cover to help effectively distinguish snow and clouds and improve the recognition rate of snow under forest cover.Then,two RF snow cover recognition models were constructed for the snow and nonsnow seasons and they were used to conduct daily snow cover recognition in China from 2011 to 2020.The results show that the RF models constructed based on FY-3B VIRR data have good recognition performance for shallow snow,understory snow,and snow on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau.The recognition accuracy against weather stations and the spatial consistency with the IMS product are better than the MULSS,MYD10A1,and NCDC products.The overall accuracy of the RF product is 90.6%,and the recall rate is 93.8%.The omission and commission errors are 6.2%and11.1%,respectively.Unlike other existing snow cover algorithms,the established RF model skips the complicated atmospheric correction and cloud identification processes and does not involve external auxiliary data;thus,it is more easily popularized and operationally applicable to generating long-time series snow cover products. | Yuchen XIE Yonghong LIU Yeping ZHANG Fuzhong WENG Shanyou ZHU Zhaojun ZHENG Shihao TANG | 2023 | Journal of Meteorological Research2023,37,5: | 0 |

| 19 | Effect of growth interruption time on the quality of InAs/GaSb type-Ⅱ superlattice grown by molecular beam epitaxy显示文摘We systematically investigate the influence of growth interruption time on the properties of In As/Ga Sb type-II superlattices(T2SLs) epitaxial materials grown by molecular beam epitaxy(MBE). X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscope(AFM) are used to characterize the material quality and morphology. The full width at half maximum(FWHM) of the XRD 0th satellite peaks ranges from 32″ to 41″, and the root mean square(RMS) roughness on a 5 μm×5 μm scan area is 0.2 nm. Photoluminescence(PL) test is used to reveal the influence of the growth interruption time on the optical property. Grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity(GIXRR) measurements are performed to analyze the roughness of the interface. The interface roughness(0.24 nm) is optimal when the interruption time is 0.5 s.
