| 1 | Comparative investigation on high-speed grinding of TiCp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites with single-layer electroplated and brazed CBN wheels显示文摘In order to develop the high-efficiency and precision machining technique of Ti Cp/Ti–6Al–4V particulate reinforced titanium matrix composites(PTMCs), high-speed grinding experiments were conducted using the single-layer electroplated cubic boron nitride(CBN) wheel and brazed CBN wheel, respectively. The comparative grinding performance was studied in terms of grinding force, grinding temperature, grinding-induced surface features and defects. The results display that the grinding forces and grinding temperature obtained with the brazed CBN wheel are always lower than those with the electroplated CBN wheel. Though the voids and microcracks are the dominant grinding-induced surface defects, the brazed CBN wheel produces less surface defects compared to the electroplated wheel according to the statistical analysis results. The maximum materials removal rate with the brazed CBN wheel is much higher than that with the electroplated one. | 2 | Estimation of reproduction numbers of COVID-19 in typical countries and epidemic trends under different prevention and control scenarios显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a life-threatening pandemic.The epidemic trends in different countries vary considerably due to different policy-making and resources mobilization.We calculated basic reproduction number(R0)and the time-varying estimate of the effective reproductive number(Rt)of COVID-19 by using the maximum likelihood method and the sequential Bayesian method,respectively.European and North American countries possessed higher (R0)and unsteady Rt fluctuations,whereas some heavily affected Asian countries showed relatively low (R0)and declining Rt now.The numbers of patients in Africa and Latin America are still low,but the potential risk of huge outbreaks cannot be ignored.Three scenarios were then simulated,generating distinct outcomes by using SEIR(susceptible,exposed,infectious,and removed)model.First,evidence-based prompt responses yield lower transmission rate followed by decreasing Rt.Second,implementation of effective control policies at a relatively late stage,in spite of huge casualties at early phase,can still achieve containment and mitigation.Third,wisely taking advantage of the time-window for developing countries in Africa and Latin America to adopt adequate measures can save more people’s life.Our mathematical modeling provides evidence for international communities to develop sound design of containment and mitigation policies for COVID-19. | Chen Xu Yinqiao Dong Xiaoyue Yu Huwen Wang Lhakpa Tsamlag Shuxian Zhang Ruijie Chang Zezhou Wang Yuelin Yu Rusi Long Ying Wang Gang Xu Tian Shen Suping Wang Xinxin Zhang Hui Wang Yong Cai | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 8 |
| 3 | Implementing a “free” tuberculosis (TB) care policy under the integrated model in Jiangsu, China: practices and costs in the real world显示文摘Background:In the 1990s,China introduced a“free”tuberculosis(TB)care policy under the national TB control program.Recently,as a part of a new TB diagnosis and treatment model,it has been recommended that the integrated model scale up.This paper examines whether or not TB designated hospitals in the selected project sites have provided TB care according to the national and local guidelines,and analyzes the actual practices and expenditures involved in completing TB treatment.It also explores the reasons why“free”TB care in China cannot be effectively implemented under the integrated model.Methods:This study was conducted in three counties of Zhenjiang city,Jiangsu province.Mixed methods were used,which comprised reviewing the national and local TB control guidelines,conducting TB patient surveys,collecting TB inpatient and outpatient hospital records,and conducting qualitative interviews with stakeholders.Descriptive statistics were used for quantitative data analysis across counties and in order to compare patients who received only outpatient care and those who received both outpatient and inpatient care.The chi-square test and analysis of variance were performed where necessary.Qualitative data were analyzed using the framework approach.Results:Although the national TB care guidelines recommend outpatient care as a basis for TB treatment in China,we found high hospital admission rates for TB patients ranging from 39%in Yangzhong county to 83%in Dantu county.Almost all outpatient TB patients paid for lab tests and over 80%paid for liver protection drugs and around 70%paid for image examinations.These three components accounted for three-quarters of the total outpatient expenditure.For patients who received only outpatient care,the total expenditure upon completion of TB treatment was on average 1,135 Chinese yuan.For patients who received outpatient and inpatient care,the total expenditure upon completion of TB treatment was 11,117 Chinese yuan.Conclusion:The“free”TB care policy under the integrated model has not been effectively implemented in China.There has been substantial spending on non-recommended services,examinations,and drugs for TB treatment. | Xinxin Jia Jiaying Chen Siyuan Zhang Bing Dai Qian Long Shenglan Tang | 2016 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1: | 4 |

| 5 | MicroRNAs as potential therapeutic targets for pancreatic cancer显示文摘Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive malignancies. The poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients is mainly attributed to low diagnostic rate at the early stage, highly aggressive nature coupled with the inadequate efficacy of current chemotherapeutic regimens. Novel therapeutic strategies are urgently needed for pancreatic cancer. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an important regulatory role in key processes of cancer development. The aberrant expression of miRNAs is often involved in the initiation, progression, and metastasis of pancreatic cancer. The discovery of tumor suppressor miRNAs provides prospects for the development of a novel treatment strategy for pancreatic cancer. We reviewed recent progress on the understanding of the role of miRNAs in pancreatic cancer, highlighted the efficient application of miRNAs-based therapies for pancreatic cancer in animal models and clinical trials, and proposed future prospects. | 8 | Extraction of straight field roads between farmlands based on agricultural vehicle-mounted LiDAR显示文摘The application of autonomous agricultural vehicles is gaining popularity as a way to increase production efficiency and lower operational costs.To achieve high performance,perception tasks(such as obstacle detection,road extraction,and drivable area extraction)are of great importance.Compared with structured roads,field roads between farmlands,including unstructured roads and semi-structured roads,are unfavorable for autonomous agricultural vehicle driving due to their bumpiness and unstructured nature.This study proposed an extraction method for the straight field roads between farmlands.The proposed method was based on the point cloud data acquired by LiDAR(Velodyne VLP-16)mounted on a John Deere 12046B-1204 tractor.The proposed method has three aspects:Euclidean Clustering-based extraction,boundary-based extraction,and road point cloud curve segment modification.Firstly,Euclidean Clustering with K-Dimensional(KD)-Tree data structure was adopted to extract the road curve segments close to the LiDAR composed of road points.Secondly,the boundary lines constraint was constructed to extract the distant road curve segments.Thirdly,the local distance ratio was used to modify the extracted road curve segments.The average extraction accuracy for both semi-structured and unstructured roads exceeded 98%,and the false positive rate(FPR)was less than 0.5%.These experimental findings demonstrated that the proposed road extraction method was precise and effective.The proposed method of this study can be applied to enhance the perception ability of autonomous agricultural vehicles thereby increasing the efficiency and safety of field road driving. | Lili Yang Yuanyuan Xu Yajie Liang Jia Qin Yuanbo Li Xinxin Wang Weixin Zhai Long Wen Zhibo Chen Caicong Wu | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5: | 1 |
| 9 | Towards Lessening Learners’Aversive Emotions and Promoting Their Mental Health:Developing and Validating a Measurement of English Speaking Demotivation in the Chinese EFL Context显示文摘While a plethora of studies has been conducted to explore demotivation and its impact on mental health in second language(L2)education,scanty research focuses on demotivation in L2 speaking learning.Particularly,little research explores the measures to quantify L2 speaking demotivation.The present two-phase study attempts to develop and validate an English Speaking Demotivation Scale(ESDS).To this end,an independent sample of 207 Chinese tertiary learners of English as a Foreign Language(EFL)participated in the development phase,and another group of 188 Chinese EFL learners was recruited for the validation of the scale.Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA)and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)were employed to determine the factor structure of the scale.The EFA results revealed a six-factor solution with Teacher-related Factors in Learning Spoken English(TFLSE),Interest and Valence in Learning Spoken English(IVLSE),Self-efficacy in Learning Spoken English(SELSE),Negative Peer Influence in Learning Spoken English(NPILSE),Undesirable Environment for Learning Spoken English(UELSE),and Negative Influence of Assessment and Learning Materials in speaking class(NIALM).In the validation phase,Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)was performed to validate the internal structure of the scale.The CFA results showed that the model fits the data well.Overall,the ESDS is a robust and trustworthy psychometric tool that could be utilized to examine L2 speaking demotivation.Implications for diminishing EFL learners’demotivation,lessening their aversive emotions and promoting their mental health are also discussed. | Chili Li Xinxin Zhao Ziwen Pan Ting Yi Long Qian | 2024 | International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2024,26,2: | 0 |

| 11 | Behavior recognition and fuel consumption prediction of tractor sowing operations using smartphone显示文摘In order to qualitatively recognize the behaviors and investigate the relationship between fuel consumption and machinery driving modes of the tractor in a low-cost approach,this study proposed a method for behavior recognition and fuel consumption prediction of tractor sowing operations using a smartphone.First,three driving modes were developed for maize sowing scenarios:manual driving assisted driving and unmanned driving.While sowing,smartphone software and CAN(Controller Area Network)storage devices collected both positional data and engine operating conditions.Second,the tractor trajectory points were divided into kinematic sequences,with six driving cycle indicators built in each series based on the time window.Based on the semantic information of the kinematic sequences,the three operations of sowing,seeds filling,and turning round were well recognized.Last,a model for maize sowing fuel consumption forecast was advanced using the principal component analyses and random forest algorithm,regarding three factors:driving cycles,operating behaviors,and driving patterns.When compared to the traditional K-means algorithm,the results demonstrated that the harmonic mean of the precision and recall(F1 score)of sowing behavior recognition,seeds filling behavior recognition,and turning behavior recognition were enhanced by 2.06%,8.99%,and 21.79%,respectively.In terms of the impacts of driving modes and operating behaviors on fuel consumption,assisted driving mode had the lowest fuel usage for both sowing and turning behavior.Therefore,assisted driving is the most fuel-efficient mode for maize sowing.Combining the three driving modes,the relative error of the fuel consumption prediction model was 0.11 L/h,with the manual driving mode having the lowest relative error at 0.09 L/h.This research method lays the foundation for the optimization of tractor operation behavior,the selection of tractor driving mode,and the fine management of tractor fuel consumption. | Lili Yang Weize Tian Weixin Zhai Xinxin Wang Zhibo Chen Long Wen Yuanyuan Xu Caicong Wu | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,4: | 0 |
| 12 | “Coffee ring” controlment in spray prepared >19% efficiency Cs_(0.19)FA_(0.81)PbI_(2.5)Br_(0.5) perovskite solar cells显示文摘Achieving high-quality perovskite films with uniform morphology and homogeneous crystallinity is challenging owing to the coffee ring effect(CRE) in the spray-coating technologies. In this study, an evaporation/spray-coating two-step deposition method is used to fabricate Cs_(0.19)FA_(0.81)PbI_(2.5)Br_(0.5)light harvesters for perovskite solar cells(PSCs). Considering the solid–liquid reaction, we establish a reaction-dependent regulating strategy that inhibits CRE successfully and prepare a high-quality perovskite layer, wherein the solvent for the FAI/Br solution during the spraying process is changed from isopropanol to n-butyl alcohol(NBA). The retarded-drying-enhanced spreading of the NBA solution inhibits contact line pinning to suppress the capillary flows and increases the reaction between metal halides(CsI/PbI_(2)) and organic salts(FAI/Br), which result in a reduction in the accumulation of solutes in the periphery effectively inhibiting CRE. Consequently, we obtain a high performance Cs_(0.19)FA_(0.81)PbI_(2.5)Br_(0.5) PSC with a power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 19.17%. An enlarged perovskite film(10 × 10 cm^(2)) containing 40 sub-cells is prepared. The average PCE of these devices is 18.33 ± 0.56%, proving the reliability of the 'coffee ring' regulating strategy.
