2Xa7, a new executor R gene that confers durable and broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial blight disease in rice显示文摘Bacterial blight(BB)is a globally devastating rice disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo).The use of disease resistance(R)genes in rice breeding is an effective and economical strategy for the control of this disease.Nevertheless,a majority of R genes lack durable resistance for long-term use under global warming conditions.Here,we report the isolation of a novel executor R gene,Xa7,that confers extremely durable,broad-spectrum,and heat-tolerant resistance to Xoo.The expression of Xa7 was induced by incompatible Xoo strains that secreted the transcription activator-like effector(TALE)AvrXa7 or PthXo3,which recognized effector binding elements(EBEs)in the Xa7 promoter.Furthermore,Xa7 induction was faster and stronger under high temperatures.Overexpression of Xa7 or co-transformation of Xa7 with avrXa7 triggered a hypersensitive response in plants.Constitutive expression of Xa7 activated a defense response in the absence of Xoo but inhibited the growth of transgenic rice plants.In addition,analysis of over 3000 rice varieties showed that the Xa7 locuswas found primarily in the indica and aus subgroups.A variation consisting of an 11-bp insertion and a base substitution(G to T)was found in EBEAvrXa7 in the tested varieties,resulting in a loss of Xa7 BB resistance.Through a decade of effort,we have identified an important BB resistance gene and characterized its distinctive interaction with Xoo strains;these findings will greatly facilitate research on the molecular mechanism of Xa7-mediated resistance and promote the use of this valuable gene in breeding.Xifeng Chen Pengcheng Liu Le Mei Xiaoling He Long Chen Hui Liu Shurong Shen Zhandong Ji Xixi Zheng Yuchen Zhang Zhenyu Gao Dali Zeng Qian Qian Bojun Ma 2021Plant Communications2021,2,3:9
3Mn3O4 nanoparticles@reduced graphene oxide composite:An efficient electrocatalyst for artificial N2 fixation to NH3 at ambient conditions显示文摘Currently,industrial-scale NH3 production almost relies on energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process from atmospheric N2 with large amount of CO2 emission,while low-cost and high-efficient catalysts are demanded for the N2 reduction reaction (NRR).In this study,Mn3O4 nanoparticles@reduced graphene oxide (Mn3O4@rGO) composite is reported as an efficient NRR electrocatalyst with excellent selectivity for NH3 formation.In 0.1 M Na2SO4 solution,such catalyst obtains a NH3 yield of 17.4 μg·h^-1·mg^-1cat.and a Faradaic efficiency of 3.52% at-0.85 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode.Notably,it also shows high electrochemical stability during electrolysis process.Density functional theory (DFT) calculations also demonstrate that the (112) planes of Mn3O4 possess superior NRR activity.Hong Huang Feng Gong Yuan Wang Huanbo Wang Xiufeng Wu Wenbo Lu Runbo Zhao Hongyu Chen Xifeng Shi Abdullah M.Asiri Tingshuai Li Qian Liu Xuping Sun 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:8
4On-line catalytic upgrading of biomass fast pyrolysis products显示文摘Pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) was employed to achieve fast pyrolysis of biomass and on-line analysis of the pyrolysis vapors. Four biomass materials (poplar wood, fir wood, cotton straw and rice husk) were pyrolyzed to reveal the difference among their products. Moreover, catalytic cracking of the pyrolysis vapors from cotton straw was performed by using five catalysts, including two microporous zeolites (HZSM-5 and HY) and three mesoporous catalysts (ZrO2&TiO2, SBA-15 and Al/SBA-15). The results showed that the distribution of the pyrolytic products from the four materials differed a little from each other, while catalytic cracking could significantly alter the pyrolytic products. Those important primary pyrolytic products such as levoglucosan, hydroxyacetaldehyde and 1-hydroxy-2-propanone were decreased greatly after catalysis. 6Electroplastic Tensile Behavior of 5A90 Al–Li Alloys显示文摘The electroplastic(EP) tensile properties of 5A90 Al–Li alloys compared with thermal tension were investigated.The microstructural variation at different conditions was observed by SEM and TEM.The current density significantly influences the elongation and the flow stress.With increasing current density,wider and deeper dimples on the fracture surfaces and less dislocation density and pile-ups in the EP tension samples were observed compared with roomtemperature and thermal tension,which indicates the plasticity improvement and flow stress reduction.The EP effect(EPE) mainly results from a comprehensive function of Joule heating and pure EPE.Among them,Joule heating effect is perhaps a dominant factor.Pengchao Song Xifeng Li Wei Ding Jun Chen 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,4:7
7Establishment of a transgenic mouse model with liver-specific expression of secretory immunoglobulin D显示文摘Mutation of mevalonate kinase(MVK) is thought to account for most cases of hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome(HIDS) with recurrent fever.However,its mechanism and the relationship between elevated serum immunoglobulin D(IgD) and the clinical features of HIDS are unclear.In this study,we generated by fusion PCR a vector to express high levels of chimeric secretory IgD(csIgD) specifically in the liver.We then generated seven founder lines of transgenic mice by co-microinjection,and verified them using genomic PCR and Southern blotting.We detected the expression of csIgD by reverse transcription PCR,quantitative PCR,western blotting,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.We demonstrated that csIgD could be specifically and stably expressed in the liver.We used flow cytometry to show that overexpression of csIgD in the bone marrow and spleen cells had no effect on B cell development.Morphologic and anatomical observation of the transgenic mice revealed skin damage,hepatosplenomegaly,and nephromegaly in some transgenic mice;in these mice,pathological sections showed high levels of cell necrosis and protein-like sediments in the liver,spleen,and kidney.We demonstrated that the genomic insertion sites of the transgenes did not disrupt the MVK gene on mouse chromosome 5.This transgenic mouse will be useful to explore the pathogenesis of HIDS.WANG Ping WEI ZhiGuo YAN BoWen HUANG Tan GOU KeMian DAI YunPing ZHENG Min WANG MeiLi CHENG XueQian WANG XiFeng XU Chen SUN Yi 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,3:6
8Overview on the Prediction Models for Sheet Metal Forming Failure:Necking and Ductile Fracture显示文摘The formability of the material determines the amount of available deformation before failure and thus is important for the production of various structural components in industries. The workability of materials is commonly evaluated by different forms of failure models during sheet metal forming(SMF) processes. In order to provide a whole picture about the prediction models for SMF failure, necking-related formability and ductile fracture-related formability studies in SMF processes are systematically summarized, the applicability and limitation of each model are highlighted, and the link between forming limit diagram and ductile fracture criterion is pointed out. 11Fracture Morphologies of Advanced High Strength Steel During Deformation显示文摘The fracture morphologies of several advanced high-strength steels(DP590,DP780,DP980,Ml 180,and M1300) formed in uniaxial tension and piercing were observed by scanning electron microscope,and then quantitatively analyzed by image processing technique.The tension-induced fractographs are dominated by obvious uniform or bimodal size dimples,while shearing-induced fractographs have smooth surfaces and few dimples.The fracture zone of higher grade DP steels is smoother.As for Ml 180 and Ml300,the fracture zones consist of very small dimples and smooth brittle surfaces.The dimple size of M1300(~ 1.2 urn) is smaller than that of Ml 180(~ 1.6 μm).Moreover,in the tensile fracture,the quantitative correlation between average dimple diameter(d) and tensile strength(σ) can be represented by d = 10,502.32σ^(-1 21).However,the relation between dimple density and tensile strength is not monotonic due to the appearance of bimodal size dimples with increase of tensile strength.For shearing-induced fracture during piercing,the fitted empirical model between the percentage of burnish zone(f) and tensile strength can be described asf= 239.9σ^(-036).Ying Sun Xifeng Li Xiangyu Yu Delong Ge Jun Chen Jieshi Chen 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,1:1

18All-optical modulation of quantum states by nonlinear metasurface显示文摘Metasurfaces have proven themselves an exotic ability to harness light at nano-scale,being important not only for classical but also for quantum optics.Dynamic manipulation of the quantum states is at the heart of quantum information processing;however,such function has been rarely realized with metasurfaces so far.Here,we report an all-optical dynamic modulation of the photonic quantum states using the nonlinear metasurface.The metasurface consists of a metallic nanostructure combined with a photoisomerizable azo layer.By tuning the plasmonic resonance through optically switching the azo molecules between their binary isomeric states,we have realized dynamic control of transmission efficiencies of orthogonally polarized photons and also the phase delay between them,thereby an entangled state was efficiently controlled.As an illustration,a quantum state distillation has been demonstrated to recover a Bell state from a non-maximally entangled one to that with fidelities higher than 98%.Our work would enrich the functions of the metasurface in the quantum world,from static to dynamic modulation,making the quantum metasurface going practical.Di Zhang Yang Chen Shengchao Gong Wei Wu Wei Cai Mengxin Ren Xifeng Ren Shuang Zhang Guangcan Guo Jingjun Xu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,3:1
