2Alleviating the crosstalk effect via a fine-moulded light-blocking matrix for colour-converted micro-LED display with a 122% NTSC gamut显示文摘One of the major challenges when fabricating high gamut colour-converted micro-light-emitting diodes(LEDs)displays is severe crosstalk effect among adjacent pixels because of the wide view-angle feature of micro-LED chips.In this study,potential factors that contribute to the crosstalk effect were systematically simulated.We observed that precisely filling the space between each micro-LED chip with a light blocking matrix(LBM)can be a promising solution to alleviate this risk.After careful investigations,a press-assisted moulding technique was demonstrated to be an effective approach of fabricating the LBM.Nevertheless,experimental observations further revealed that residual black LBM on the surface of micro-LEDs severely reduces the brightness,thereby compromising the display performance.This problem was successfully addressed by employing a plasma etching technique to efficiently extract the trapped light.Eventually,a top-emitting blue micro-LED-based backlight fine-moulded with a black LBM was developed and combined with red and green quantum dot colour-conversion layers for full-colour display.The colour gamut of our manufactured display prototype can cover as high as 122%that of the National Television Standards Committee.Yongming Yin Zhiping Hu Muhammad Umair Ali Miao Duan Yongwei Wu Ming Liu Wenxiang Peng Jun Hou Dongze Li Xin Zhang Hong Meng 2022Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2022,3,3:2
3Morphometry of leaf and shoot variables to assess aboveground biomass structure and carbon sequestration by different varieties of white mulberry(Morus alba L.)显示文摘Mulberry is economically important and can also play a pivotal role in mitigating greenhouse gases.Leaf and shoot traits were measured for Morus alba var.Kanmasi,M.alba var.Karyansuban,M.alba var.Latifolia,and M.alba var.PFI-1 to assess aboveground biomass(AGB)and carbon sequestration.Variety-specific and multivariety allometric AGB models were developed using the equivalent diameter at breast height(EDBH)and plant height(H).The completeharvest method was used to measure leaf and shoot traits and biomass,and the ash method was used to measure organic carbon content.The results showed significant(p<0.01)varietal differences in leaf and shoot traits,AGB and carbon sequestration.PFI-1 variety had the greatest leaf density(mean±SE:1828.3±0.3 leaves tree^(-1)),Karyansuban had the largest mean leaf area(185.94±8.95 cm^(2)).A diminishing return was found between leaf area and leaf density.Latifolia had the highest shoot density per tree(46.6±1.83 shoots tree^(-1)),total shoot length(264.1±2.32 m),dry biomass(16.69±0.58 kg tree^(-1)),carbon sequestration(9.99±0.32 kg tree^(-1))and CO_(2) mitigation(36.67±1.16 kg).The variety-specific AGB models b(EDBH)and b(EDBH)2 showed good fit and reasonable accuracy with a coefficient of determination(R^(2))=0.98-0.99,standard error of estimates(SEE)=0.1125-0.3130 and root mean square error(RMSE)=0.1084-0.3017.The multivariety models bln(EDBH)and(EDBH)0.756 showed good-fitness and accuracy with R^(2)=0.85-0.86,SEE=1.6231-1.6445 and RMSE=1.609-1.630.On the basis of these findings,variety Latifolia has good potential for biomass production,and allometric equations based on EDBH can be used to estimate AGB with a reasonable accuracy.Ghulam Ali Bajwa Muhammad Umair Yasir Nawab Zahid Rizwan 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:2
4Tactile and temperature sensors based on organic transistors:Towards e-skin fabrication显示文摘Tactile and temperature sensors are the key components for e-skin fabrication.Organic transistors,a kind of intrinsic logic devices with diverse internal configurations,offer a wide range of options for sensor design and have played a vital role in the fabrication of e-skin-oriented tactile and temperature sensors.This research field has attained tremendous advancements,both in terms of materials design and device architecture,thereby leading to excellent performance of resulting tactile/temperature sensors.Herein,a systematic review of organic transistor-based tactile and temperature sensors is presented to summarize the latest progress in these devices.Particularly,we focus on spotlighting various device structures,underlying mechanisms and their performance.Lastly,an outlook for the future development of these devices is briefly discussed.We anticipate that this review will provide a quick overview of such a rapidly emerging research direction and attract more dedicated efforts for the development of next-generation sensing devices towards e-skin fabrication.Miao Zhu Muhammad Umair Ali Changwei Zou Wei Xie Songquan Li Hong Meng 2021Frontiers of physics2021,16,1:1
5Concentration-Dependent Solar Thermochemical CO_(2)/H_(2)O Splitting Performance by Vanadia-Ceria Multiphase Metal Oxide Systems显示文摘The effects of V and Ce concentrations(each varying in the 0-100%range)in vanadia-ceria multiphase systems are investigated for synthesis gas production via thermochemical redox cycles of CO_(2) and H_(2)O splitting coupled to methane partial oxidation reactions.The oxidation of prepared oxygen carriers is performed by separate and sequential CO_(2) and H_(2)O splitting reactions.Structural and chemical analyses of the mixed-metal oxides revealed important information about the Ce and V interactions affecting their crystal phases and redox characteristics.Pure CeO_(2) and pure V_(2)O_(5) are found to offer the lowest and highest oxygen exchange capacities and syngas production performance,respectively.The mixed-oxide systems provide a balanced performance:their oxygen exchange capacity is up to 5 times higher than that of pure CeO_(2) while decreasing the extent of methane cracking.The addition of 25%V to CeO_(2) results in an optimum mixture of CeO_(2) and CeVO4 for enhanced CO_(2) and H_(2)O splitting.At higher V concentrations,cyclic carbide formation and oxidation result in a syngas yield higher than that for pure CeO_(2).Asim Riaz Muhammad Umair Ali T.Gabriel Enge Takuya Tsuzuki Adrian Lowe Wojciech Lipinski 2020Research2020,,1:1

8Spatio-temporal variations in trends of vegetation and drought changes in relation to climate variability from 1982 to 2019 based on remote sensing data from East Asia显示文摘Studying the significant impacts on vegetation of drought due to global warming is crucial in order to understand its dynamics and interrelationships with temperature,rainfall,and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI).These factors are linked to excesses drought frequency and severity on the regional scale,and their effect on vegetation remains an important topic for climate change study.East Asia is very sensitive and susceptible to climate change.In this study,we examined the effect of drought on the seasonal variations of vegetation in relation to climate variability and determined which growing seasons are most vulnerable to drought risk;and then explored the spatio-temporal evolution of the trend in drought changes in East Asia from 1982 to 2019.The data were studied using a series of several drought indexes,and the data were then classified using a heat map,box and whisker plot analysis,and principal component analysis.The various drought indexes from January to August improved rapidly,except for vegetation health index(VHI)and temperature condition index(TCI).While these indices were constant in September,they increased again in October,but in December,they showed a descending trend.The seasonal and monthly analysis of the drought indexes and the heat map confirmed that the East Asian region suffered from extreme droughts in 1984,1993,2007,and 2012among the study years.The distribution of the trend in drought changes indicated that more severe drought occurred in the northwestern region than in the southeastern area of East Asia.The drought tendency slope was used to describe the changes in drought events during 1982–2019 in the study region.The correlations among monthly precipitation anomaly percentage(NAP),NDVI,TCI,vegetation condition index(VCI),temperature vegetation drought index(TVDI),and VHI indicated considerably positive correlations,while considerably negative correlations were found among the three pairs of NDVI and VHI,TVDI and VHI,and NDVI and TCI.This ecological and climatic mechanism provides a good basis for the assessment of vegetation and drought-change variations within the East Asian region.This study is a step forward in monitoring the seasonal variation of vegetation and variations in drought dynamics within the East Asian region,which will serve and contribute to the better management of vegetation,disaster risk,and drought in the East Asian region.Shahzad ALI Abdul BASIT Muhammad UMAIR Tyan Alice MAKANDA Fahim Ullah KHAN Siqi SHI NI Jian 2023Journal of Integrative Agriculture2023,22,10:0

12Isothianaphthene diimide: an air-stable n-type semiconductor显示文摘Herein,we propose a new strategy to develop air-stable n-type organic semiconductors with non-classical thiophene aromatic diimide derivatives by replacing aromatic naphthalene with a heteroaromatic isothianaphthene core.We designed and successfully synthesized the isothianaphthene core based diimide material,N,N′-bis(n-hexyl)isothianaphthene-2,3,6,7-tetracarboxylic acid diimide(BTDI-C6)as an n-type semiconductor.Compared to N,N′-bis(n-hexyl)naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic acid diimide(NDI-C6),BTDI-C6 possesses a deeper LUMO energy level of-4.21 eV,which is 0.32 eV lower than that of NDI-C6.Both molecular modelling and experimental results elucidated that organic thin film transistors(OTFTs)based on both of these materials exhibit comparable mobilities;however,the threshold voltage of BTDI-C6 based device(+7.5 V)is significantly lower than that of NDI-C6 based counterpart(+34V).Moreover,the low-lying LUMO energy level of BTDI-C6 ensures excellent air-stability which is further validated by the device performance.In addition,BTDI-C6 shows high luminescence while NDI-C6 is not luminescent at all in solution,which reveals the potential application of our newly synthesized material in n-type light-emitting transistors.Xiaolong Chen Yaowu He Muhammad Umair Ali Yu He Yanan Zhu Aiyuan Li Changbin Zhao Igor FPerepichka Hong Meng 2019Science China Chemistry2019,62,10:0
13Genomic Epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan显示文摘COVID-19 has swept globally and Pakistan is no exception.To investigate the initial introductions and transmissions of the SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan,we performed the largest genomic epidemiology study of COVID-19 in Pakistan and generated 150 complete SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences from samples collected from March 16 to June 1,2020.We identified a total of 347 mutated positions,31 of which were over-represented in Pakistan.Meanwhile,we found over 1000 intra-host single-nucleotide variants(iSNVs).Several of them occurred concurrently,indicating possible interactions among them or coevolution.Some of the high-frequency iSNVs in Pakistan were not observed in the global population,suggesting strong purifying selections.The genomic epidemiology revealed five distinctive spreading clusters.The largest cluster consisted of 74 viruses which were derived from different geographic locations of Pakistan and formed a deep hierarchical structure,indicating an extensive and persistent nation-wide transmission of the virus that was probably attributed to a signature mutation(G8371T in ORF1ab)of this cluster.Furthermore,28 putative international introductions were identified,several of which are consistent with the epidemiological investigations.In all,this study has inferred the possible pathways of introductions and transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan,which could aid ongoing and future viral surveillance and COVID-19 control.Shuhui Song Cuiping Li Lu Kang Dongmei Tian Nazish Badar Wentai Ma Shilei Zhao Xuan Jiang Chun Wang Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Shuangli Li Qiuhui Qi Aamer Ikram Muhammad Salman Massab Umair Huma Shireen Fatima Batool Bing Zhang Hua Chen Yun-Gui Yang Amir Ali Abbasi Mingkun Li Yongbiao Xue Yiming Bao 2021Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,5:0

15Recognition and Tracking of Objects in a Clustered Remote Scene Environment显示文摘Object recognition and tracking are two of the most dynamic research sub-areas that belong to the field of Computer Vision.Computer vision is one of the most active research fields that lies at the intersection of deep learning and machine vision.This paper presents an efficient ensemble algorithm for the recognition and tracking of fixed shapemoving objects while accommodating the shift and scale invariances that the object may encounter.The first part uses the Maximum Average Correlation Height(MACH)filter for object recognition and determines the bounding box coordinates.In case the correlation based MACH filter fails,the algorithms switches to a much reliable but computationally complex feature based object recognition technique i.e.,affine scale invariant feature transform(ASIFT).ASIFT is used to accommodate object shift and scale object variations.ASIFT extracts certain features from the object of interest,providing invariance in up to six affine parameters,namely translation(two parameters),zoom,rotation and two camera axis orientations.However,in this paper,only the shift and scale invariances are used.The second part of the algorithm demonstrates the use of particle filters based Approximate Proximal Gradient(APG)technique to periodically update the coordinates of the object encapsulated in the bounding box.At the end,a comparison of the proposed algorithm with other stateof-the-art tracking algorithms has been presented,which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm with respect to the minimization of tracking errors.Haris Masood Amad Zafar Muhammad Umair Ali Muhammad Attique Khan Salman Ahmed Usman Tariq Byeong-Gwon Kang Yunyoung Nam 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,1:0
16Facile NiCo_(2)S_(4)/C nanocomposite: an efficient material for water oxidation显示文摘The water oxidation in alkaline media is a kinetically sluggish process and it requires an active electrocatalyst for overall water splitting which is a challenging task to date.Herein,we formulate a platform for the design of efficient NiCo_(2)S_(4)/C nanocomposite using earth abundant and nonprecious materials.The nanocomposites are prepared by scale up hydrothermal method using different carbon contents from acid dehydrated sucrose.They are structurally and morphologically character-ized by various analytic techniques.The scanning electron microscopy has shown few microns flower-like morphology of nanocomposite and hexagonal crystalline phase is identified by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Further,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy supported the XRD results,and C,Ni,Co and O elements were found in the composition nanocomposite as investigated by energy-dispersive spectroscopy.The most active nanocomposite reaches a current density of 20 mA·cm^(−2) at potential of 285 mV vs reversible hydrogen electrode.The nanocomposite is kinetically supported by 61 mV·dec^(−1) as small Tafel slope.The nanocomposite is stable and durable for 40 h.The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy described a small charge transfer resistance of 188.4Ω.These findings suggest that the NiCo_(2)S_(4)/C nanocomposite could be used as a promising material for an extended range of applications particularly in energy technology.Umair Aftab Aneela Tahira Raffaello Mazzaro Vittorio Morandi Muhammad Ishaq Abro Muhammad Moazam Baloch Junaid Ali Syed Ayman Nafady Zafar Hussain Ibupoto 2020Tungsten2020,2,4:0
