| 1 | Enhancement of Growth and Grain Yield of Rice in Nutrient Deficient Soils by Rice Probiotic Bacteria显示文摘Plant associated bacteria are promising alternatives to chemical fertilizers for plant growth and yield improvement in an eco-friendly manner.In this study,rice associated bacteria were isolated and assessed for mineral phosphate solubilization and indole-3-acetic acid(IAA) production activity in vitro.Six promising strains,which were tentatively identified as phylotaxon Pseudochrobactrum sp.(BRRh-1),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-2),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-3),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-4),Pseudomonas aeruginosa(BRRh-5 and BRRh-6) based on their 16 S rRNA gene phylogeny,exhibited significant phosphate solubilizing activity in National Botanical Research Institute phosphate growth medium,and BRRh-4 displayed the highest phosphate solubilizing activity,followed by BRRh-5.The p H of the culture broth declined,resulting in increase of growth rate of bacteria at p H 7,which might be due to organic acid secretion by the strains.In presence of L-tryptophan,five isolates synthesized IAA and the maximum IAA was produced by BRRh-2,followed by BRRh-1.Application of two most efficient phosphate solubilizing isolates BRRh-4 and BRRh-5 by root dipping(colonization) of seedling and spraying at the flowering stage significantly enhanced the growth and grain yield of rice variety BRRI dhan-29.Interestingly,application of both strains with 50% of recommended nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium fertilizers produced equivalent or higher grain yield of rice compared to the control grown with full recommended fertilizer doses,which suggests that these strains may have the potential to be used as bioinoculants for sustainable rice production. | Md Mohibul Alam KHAN Effi HAQUE Narayan Chandra PAUL Md Abdul KHALEQUE Saleh M. | 2 | Multi-hazard susceptibility mapping based on Convolutional Neural Networks显示文摘Multi-hazard susceptibility prediction is an important component of disasters risk management plan.An effective multi-hazard risk mitigation strategy includes assessing individual hazards as well as their interactions.However,with the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology,multi-hazard susceptibility prediction techniques based on machine learning has encountered a huge bottleneck.In order to effectively solve this problem,this study proposes a multi-hazard susceptibility mapping framework using the classical deep learning algorithm of Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN).First,we use historical flash flood,debris flow and landslide locations based on Google Earth images,extensive field surveys,topography,hydrology,and environmental data sets to train and validate the proposed CNN method.Next,the proposed CNN method is assessed in comparison to conventional logistic regression and k-nearest neighbor methods using several objective criteria,i.e.,coefficient of determination,overall accuracy,mean absolute error and the root mean square error.Experimental results show that the CNN method outperforms the conventional machine learning algorithms in predicting probability of flash floods,debris flows and landslides.Finally,the susceptibility maps of the three hazards based on CNN are combined to create a multi-hazard susceptibility map.It can be observed from the map that 62.43%of the study area are prone to hazards,while 37.57%of the study area are harmless.In hazard-prone areas,16.14%,4.94%and 30.66%of the study area are susceptible to flash floods,debris flows and landslides,respectively.In terms of concurrent hazards,0.28%,7.11%and 3.13%of the study area are susceptible to the joint occurrence of flash floods and debris flow,debris flow and landslides,and flash floods and landslides,respectively,whereas,0.18%of the study area is subject to all the three hazards.The results of this study can benefit engineers,disaster managers and local government officials involved in sustainable land management and disaster risk mitigation. | Kashif Ullah Yi Wang Zhice Fang Lizhe Wang Mahfuzur Rahman | 2022 | Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,5: | 4 |

| 4 | 两株采自惠州的细鞘丝藻亚科(Leptolyngbyaceae)嗜热蓝细菌的分离鉴定及细胞组分分析显示文摘【背景】随着CO_2排放增加,全球变暖愈发严峻,嗜热蓝细菌作为能够在45°C及以上环境中生长并实现生物固碳的微生物,具有重要的研究意义。【目的】对从广东惠州地区采集的藻种进行分离鉴定,并筛选出2株嗜热蓝细菌,研究其生长特性,为嗜热蓝细菌的后续应用提供依据。【方法】通过16SrRNA基因、藻蓝蛋白链A基因(PhycoA)序列分析确定从惠州地区采集到的菌株的分类学位置。对PKUAC-GDTS1-24和PKUAC-GDTS1-29两株嗜热蓝细菌进行形态观察和主要细胞成分(灰分、糖类、脂质、蛋白质和色素)分析。【结果】共分离出12株嗜热蓝细菌,其中PKUAC-GDTS1-24和PKUAC-GDTS1-29菌株,形态上呈蓝绿色球形毛状体,是由细胞形成密集的簇,彼此附着形成的。两株嗜热蓝细菌的主要细胞成分是糖类,分别占细胞干重的36.42%和28.46%。PKUAC-GDTS1-24的灰分、脂质和蛋白质含量分别为24.41%、21.40%和26.64%。PKUAC-GDTS1-29的细胞中,灰分、脂质和蛋白质含量分别为24.72%、23.92%和12.93%。藻蓝蛋白(Phycocyanin,PC)在PKUAC-GDTS1-24和PKUAC-GDTS1-29中的含量分别为157.29 mg/g DW和374.86 mg/g DW,类胡萝卜素分别为65.13 mg/g DW和18.87 mg/g DW。【结论】基于系统发育树研究,本实验的2个分离株属于细鞘丝藻亚科(Leptolyngbyaceae),与研究较少的纤发鞘丝蓝细菌属(Leptolyngbya)菌株相近,可能是广东和四川温泉中存在的一种新型丝状轻度嗜热蓝细菌属或Leptolyngbya新种。嗜热菌株PKUAC-GDTS1-24和PKUAC-GDTS1-29的形态和细胞组成相似,通过比较,2个菌株的藻胆蛋白含量远远高于其他研究报道的Leptolyngbya蓝细菌,尤其是PKUAC-GDTS1-29可以作为藻蓝蛋白生产的潜在菌株。 | 张艳婷 江东 唐杰 雒义凡 梁园梅 MD Mahfuzur R.Shah 金鹏 Maurycy Daroch | 2019 | 微生物学通报2019,46,3: | 3 |
| 5 | Flooding and its relationship with land cover change, population growth, and road density显示文摘Bangladesh experiences frequent hydro-climatic disasters such as flooding.These disasters are believed to be associated with land use changes and climate variability.However,identifying the factors that lead to flooding is challenging.This study mapped flood susceptibility in the northeast region of Bangladesh using Bayesian regularization back propagation(BRBP)neural network,classification and regression trees(CART),a statistical model(STM)using the evidence belief function(EBF),and their ensemble models(EMs)for three time periods(2000,2014,and 2017).The accuracy of machine learning algorithms(MLAs),STM,and EMs were assessed by considering the area under the curve—receiver operating characteristic(AUC-ROC).Evaluation of the accuracy levels of the aforementioned algorithms revealed that EM4(BRBP-CART-EBF)outperformed(AUC>90%)standalone and other ensemble models for the three time periods analyzed.Furthermore,this study investigated the relationships among land cover change(LCC),population growth(PG),road density(RD),and relative change of flooding(RCF)areas for the period between 2000 and 2017.The results showed that areas with very high susceptibility to flooding increased by 19.72%between 2000 and 2017,while the PG rate increased by 51.68%over the same period.The Pearson correlation coefficient for RCF and RD was calculated to be 0.496.These findings highlight the significant association between floods and causative factors.The study findings could be valuable to policymakers and resource managers as they can lead to improvements in flood management and reduction in flood damage and risks. | Mahfuzur Rahman Chen Ningsheng Golam Iftekhar Mahmud Md Monirul Islam Hamid Reza Pourghasemi Hilal Ahmad Jules Maurice Habumugisha Rana Muhammad Ali Washakh Mehtab Alam Enlong Liu Zheng Han Huayong Ni Tian Shufeng Ashraf Dewan | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,6: | 3 |

| 19 | Efects of Tectonic Setting and Hydraulic Properties on Silent Large‑Scale Landslides: A Case Study of the Zhaobishan Landslide,China显示文摘Unlike strong earthquake-triggered or heavy rainfall-triggered landslides,silent large-scale landslides(SLL)occur without signifcant triggering factors and cause unexpected signifcant disaster risks and mass casualties.Understanding the initiation mechanism of SLLs is crucial for risk reduction.In this study,the mechanism of the Zhaobishan SLL was investigated,and the SLL was jointly controlled by weak-soil(fractured rock mass)and strong-water(abundant water replenishment)conditions under the impact of active tectonism and complex hydraulic properties.Strong tectonic uplift,high fault density,and historical earthquakes led to weak-soil conditions conducive to the Zhaobishan SLL.The combined efect of unique lithology,antiform,and cultivated land contributed to the water replenishment characteristics of extensive runof confuence(3.16 times that of the landslide body)and supported long-distance groundwater replenishment,thereby forming strongwater conditions for the landslide.The amplifed seepage amount caused the strength of the soil mass on the sliding surface to decrease to 0.4 times its initial strength,eventually triggering the Zhaobishan SLL,which occurred 4.6 days after the peak rainfall.Moreover,the landslide deposits have accumulated on the semi-diagenetic clay rock,thereby controlling the subsequent recurring debris fows in the Lengzi Gully.To reduce disaster risk of SLL in vulnerable mountainous regions,the water confuence area behind the main scarp of the landslides and the hysteresis characteristics between landslides and peak rainfall should be further considered,and recurring debris fows following massive landslides also should be focused. | Shufeng Tian Guisheng Hu Ningsheng Chen Mahfuzur Rahman Huayong Ni Marcelo Somos‑Valenzuela | 2023 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2023,14,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Determinants of emergency contraceptive pill use in Bangladesh: An analysis of national survey data显示文摘Objective:To examine the determinants of emergency contraceptive pill use in Bangladesh.Methods:Data for this cross-sectional study came from 2017-2018 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey.Characteristics of 906 reproductive age women who were potential candidates for using emergency contraceptive pill were analysed in this study.Data were analysed using univariate and multivariate analyses.Stepwise binary logistic regression was employed as multivariate analysis.Results:Only 10.9%candidates were found to ever use emergency contraceptive pill.The odds of using emergency contraceptive pill for women visited by family planning field worker was significantly higher than that for those who were not visited by family planning field worker[odds ratio(OR)1.94;95%confidence interval(CI)1.19–3.17;P=0.008],while the odds of using emergency contraceptive pill for women with high socioeconomic status was higher than that for those with low socioeconomic status(OR 3.10;95%CI 1.61–5.97;P=0.001).Additionally,having some media access was linked to an increase in the odds of using emergency contraceptive pill(OR 3.01;95%CI 1.33–6.83;P=0.008).Women empowerment related factors did not show any significant effect on emergency contraceptive pill use.Conclusions:The findings indicate that family planning programme has a great opportunity of playing an important role in increasing emergency contraceptive pill use in Bangladesh by increasing the knowledge and awareness of women about emergency contraceptive pill. | Md.Rahman Mahfuzur Md.Rashed Alam Md Arif Billah | 2022 | Asian pacific Journal of Reproduction2022,11,2: | 0 |
