1A Survey on Terahertz Communications显示文摘With the exponential growth of the data traffic in wireless communication systems, terahertz(THz) frequency band is envisioned as a promising candidate to support ultra-broadband for future beyond fifth generation(5G), bridging the gap between millimeter wave(mmWave) and optical frequency ranges. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive literature review on the development towards THz communications and presents some key technologies faced in THz wireless communication systems. Firstly, despite the substantial hardware problems that have to be developed in terms of the THz solid state superheterodyne receiver, high speed THz modulators and THz antennas, the practical THz channel model and the efficient THz beamforming are also described to compensate for the severe path attenuation. Moreover, two different kinds of lab-level THz communication systems are introduced minutely, named a solid state THz communication system and a spatial direct modulation THz communication system, respectively. The solid state THz system converts intermediate frequency(IF) modulated signal to THz frequency while the direct modulation THz system allows the high power THz sources to input for approving the relatively long distance communications. 2Reliable and Energy-Aware Job Offloading at Terahertz Frequencies for Mobile Edge Computing显示文摘In this paper,we co-design the transmission power and the offloading strategy for job offloading to a mobile edge computing(MEC)server at Terahertz(THz)frequencies.The goal is to minimize the communication energy consumption while providing ultra-reliable low end-to-end latency(URLLC)services.To that end,we first establish a novel reliability framework,where the end-to-end(E2E)delay equals a weighted sum of the local computing delay,the communication delay and the edge computing delay,and the reliability is defined as the probability that the E2E delay remains below a certain pre-defined threshold.This reliability gives a full view of the statistics of the E2E delay,thus constituting advancement over prior works that have considered only average delays.Based on this framework,we establish the communication energy consumption minimization problem under URLLC constraints.This optimization problem is non-convex.To handle that issue,we first consider the special single-user case,where we derive the optimal solution by analyzing the structure of the optimization problem.Further,based on the analytical result for the single-user case,we decouple the optimization problem for multi-user scenarios into several sub-optimization problems and propose a sub-optimal algorithm to solve it.Numerical results verify the performance of the proposed algorithm.Sha Xie Haoran Li Lingxiang Li Zhi Chen Shaoqian Li 2020China Communications2020,17,12:2
3Use of donor-specific red blood cell transfusions for patients undergoing liver transplantation during the COVID-19 pandemic显示文摘Background:Increased risks have been found for patients undergoing liver transplantation due to the blood supply shortage following the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.Hence,exploring a method to alleviate this dilemma is urgent.This phase I,nonrandomized,prospective trial aimed to evaluate the safety and feasibility of using donor-specific red blood cell transfusion(DRBCT)as an urgent measurement to alleviate the blood supply shortage in deceased donor liver transplantation(DDLT).Methods:The outcomes of 26 patients who received DRBCT and 37 patients in the control group who only received 3rd party packed red blood cells(pRBCs)transfusion between May 2020 and January 2021 were compared.Results:Patients receiving DRBCT did not develop transfusion-related complications,and the incidence of postoperative infection was similar to that in the control group(23.1%vs.18.9%,P=0.688).Because the patients received the red blood cells from organ donors,the median volume of intraoperative allogeneic red blood cell transfusion from blood bank was 4.0 U(IQR 1.1-8.0 U)in the DRBCT group,which is significantly lower than that(7.5 U,IQR 4.0-10.0 U)in the control group(P=0.018).The peak aspartate aminotransferase(AST)level was significantly lower in the DRBCT group than in the control group(P=0.008)and so were the AST levels in the first two days after the operation(P=0.006 and P=0.033).Conclusions:DRBCT is a safe and effective procedure to lower the need for blood supply and is associated with a reduction in AST levels after transplantation.DRBCT is beneficial to patients receiving life-saving transplantation without sufficient blood supply during the COVID-19 pandemic.Tao Lv Xi Xu Jiulin Song Yifei Tan Li Jiang Jian Yang Diao He Lingxiang Kong Weiyi Zhang Panyu Chen Qiwen Xiang Tao Zhu Hong Wu Tianfu Wen Jiayin Yang 2021Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,4:2

6Optics‑guided Robotic System for Dental Implant Surgery显示文摘At present,dental implant surgery mainly relies on the clinical experience of the doctor and the assistance of preoperative medical imaging.However,there are some problems in dental implant surgery,such as narrow space,sight obstruction,inaccurate positioning,and high requirements of doctors’proficiency.Therefore,a dental implant robot system(DIRS)guided by optical navigation is developed in this study,with an x-shaped tool and an irregular pentagonal tracer are designed for spatial registration and needle tip positioning strategy respectively.The coordinate system of each unit in DIRS is unified through system calibration,spatial registration,and needle tip positioning strategy.Then the surgical path is planned on the computed tomography(CT)images in the navigation software before operation.The automatic positioning method and the auxiliary positioning method can be used in the operation to achieve accurate positioning and assist doctors to complete the operation.The errors of spatial registration,needle tip positioning strategy,and the overall accuracy of the system were evaluated respectively,and the results showed that they all met the needs of clinical surgery.This study preliminarily verified the feasibility of the precise positioning method for dental surgery robots and provided certain ideas for subsequent related research.Biao Yan Wenlong Zhang Lijing Cai Lingxiang Zheng Kaiyang Bao Yuming Rao Lin Yang Weitao Ye Peifeng Guan Wei Yang Jiang Li Rongqian Yang 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,3:1
7Causal genetic regulation of DNA replication on immune microenvironment in colorectal tumorigenesis: Evidenced by an integrated approach of trans-omics and GWAS显示文摘The interplay between DNA replication stress and immune microenvironment alterations is known to play a crucial role in colorectal tumorigenesis,but a comprehensive understanding of their association with and relevant biomarkers involved in colorectal tumorigenesis is lacking.To address this gap,we conducted a study aiming to investigate this association and identify relevant biomarkers.We analyzed transcriptomic and proteomic profiles of 904 colorectal tumor tissues and 342 normal tissues to examine pathway enrichment,biological activity,and the immune microenvironment.Additionally,we evaluated genetic effects of single variants and genes on colorectal cancer susceptibility using data from genome-wide association studies(GWASs)involving both East Asian(7062 cases and 195745 controls)and European(24476 cases and 23073 controls)populations.We employed mediation analysis to infer the causal pathway,and applied multiplex immunofluorescence to visualize colocalized biomarkers in colorectal tumors and immune cells.Our findings revealed that both DNA replication activity and the flap structure-specific endonuclease 1(FEN1)gene were significantly enriched in colorectal tumor tissues,compared with normal tissues.Moreover,a genetic variant rs4246215 G>T in FEN1 was associated with a decreased risk of colorectal cancer(odds ratio=0.94,95%confidence interval:0.90–0.97,P_(meta)=4.70×10^(-9)).Importantly,we identified basophils and eosinophils that both exhibited a significantly decreased infiltration in colorectal tumors,and were regulated by rs4246215 through causal pathways involving both FEN1 and DNA replication.In conclusion,this trans-omics incorporating GWAS data provides insights into a plausible pathway connecting DNA replication and immunity,expanding biological knowledge of colorectal tumorigenesis and therapeutic targets.Sumeng Wang Silu Chen Huiqin Li Shuai Ben Tingyu Zhao Rui Zheng Meilin Wang Dongying Gu Lingxiang Liu 2024The Journal of Biomedical Research2024,38,1:0

12Identification and Control of HLB Disease in Citrus grandis显示文摘HLB disease has been endangering citrus production,and it is an important task in Citrus grandis production to identify and control HLB disease. Diaphorina citri and Trioza erytreae are the main vectors for the spreading of HLB disease. Scientific and proper release of predatory natural enemies such as ladybugs,combined with chemical control can effectively control psyllid. For suspected HLB disease strains,a simple ' HLB disease detection reagent' can be used for detection.
