| 2 | Big Grain3, encoding a purine permease, regulates grain size via modulating cytokinin transport in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important agronomic trait affecting grain yield,but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain to be elucidated.Here,we isolated a dominant mutant,big grainy(bg3-D),which exhibits a remarkable increase of grain size caused by activation of the PURINE PERMEASE gene,OsPUP4.BC3/OSPUP4 is predominantly expressed in vascular tissues and is specifically suppressed by exogenous cytokinin application.Hormone profiling revealed that the distribution of different cytokinin forms,in roots and shoots of the bg3-D mutant,is altered.Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR(qRT-PCR)analysis indicated that expression of rice cytokinin type-A RESPONSE REGULATOR(OsRR)genes is enhanced in the roots of the bgj-D mutant.These results suggest that OSPUP4 might contribute to the long-distance transport of cytokinin,by reinforcing cytokinin loading into vascular bundle cells.Furthermore,plants overexpressing OsPUP7,the closest homolog of OsPUP4,also exhibited a similar phenotype to the bg3-D mutant.Interestingly,subcellular localization demonstrated that OSPUP4 was localized on the plasma membrane,whereas OSPUP7 was localized to the endoplasmic reticulum.Based on these findings,we propose that OSPUP4 and OSPUP7 function in a linear pathway to direct cytokinin cell-to-cell transport,affecting both its long-distance movement and local allocation. | Yunhua Xiao Dapu Liu Guoxia Zhang Shaopei Gao Linchuan Liu Fan Xu Ronghui Che Yiqin Wang Hongning Tong Chengcai Chu | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,5: | 7 |

| 5 | Genome-wide profiling of histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation and its modification in response to chilling stress in grapevine leaves显示文摘Histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation(H3K27me3) is a histone modification associated with transcriptional repression. However, insights into the genome-wide pattern of H3K27me3 in grapevines are limited. Here, anti-H3K27 chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP), high-throughput sequencing, and transcriptome analysis were performed using leaves of Vitis amurensis. The leaves were treated at 4°C for 2 h and 24 h and used to investigate changes in H3K27me3 under chilling treatment. The results show that H3K27me3 is well-distributed both in gene regions(-50%) and in the intergenic region(-50%) in the grapevine genome(Vitis vinifera ‘Pinot Noir PN40024'). H3K27me3 was found to be localized in8 368 annotated gene regions in all detected samples(leaves at normal temperature and under chilling treatments) and mainly enriched in gene bodies with the adjacent promoter and downstream areas. The short-term chilling treatments(4°C for 2 h) induced 2 793 gains and 305losses in H3K27me3 modification. Subsequently, 97.3% of the alterations were restored to original levels after 24 h treatment. The ChIP-qPCR for five differential peaks showed similar results to the data for ChIP-seq, indicating that the chilling-induced H3K27me3 modification is reliable.Integrative analysis of transcriptome and ChIP-seq results showed that the expression of H3K27me3 target genes was significantly lower than those of non-target genes, indicating transcriptional repression of H3K27me3 in grapevine leaves. Furthermore, histone methylation alterations were detected in 82 genes and were related to either repression or activation of their expression during chilling stress. | 13 | Electrochemical conversion of furfural to furoic acid:a more stable,efficient and energy-saving system显示文摘The paired electrolytic system is constructed by combining the valuable organic electro-oxidation and electro-reduction reactions,which can replace the ineffective water splitting half-reaction.By reducing the energy consumption of the electrolytic cell,the value-added electrolysis is realized.The indirect electrolysis method greatly reduces the dependence of the organic electrolysis reaction on electrode potential by introducing the redox mediators,which solves the problem on the matching of anode and cathode current under potentiostatic conditions.Here,we report a more stable,efficient and energy-saving linear paired electrochemical synthesis system that can simultaneously convert furfural to furoic acid at both the anode and cathode at higher current densities.Stable three-dimensional networked PbO_(2)is used as the anode and the catalytic amount of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy(TEMPO)is used as the mediator to realize the efficient conversion of furfural to furoic acid in a wide potential range.The cathode catalyzes two-electron oxygen reduction to hydrogen peroxide using Pb/RHPC gas-diffusion electrode,which mediates the oxidation of furfural to furoic acid simultaneously.In potentiostatic electrolysis,the selectivity of the furoic acid in the cathode and anode is 33.2%and 99.3%,respectively,and the total electron efficiency is 127.1%.The properties of the cathode and anode remain stable after the long-time electrolysis in a flow cell.By choosing a stable anode with high oxygen evolution overpotential and a gas-diffusion cathode with high hydrogen evolution overpotential,the electrolytic cell can be operated efficiently and stably by introducing reasonable mediated reactions.The two half-reactions have good compatibility during the electrolysis process,saving energy consumption by about 12.3%,for certain industrial application prospects. | Xinxin Li Linchuan Cong Haibo Lin Fangbing Liu Fuyu Han Nan Lin | 2022 | Science China Chemistry2022,65,12: | 0 |

| 15 | Spatio-temporal characteristics of regional sustainable economic growth drivers of China显示文摘Intellectual capital(IC)has become a universal performance indicator for the socioeconomic development of countries and regions.Based on a review ofnational intellectualcapital(NIC)and regional intellectualcapital(RIC)evaluation literature,we used the regional intellectualcapitalindicator(RICI)as a model for China’s RIC evaluation to indirectly understand China’s potential economic growth drivers.Specifically,we collected statisticaldata of31 provinces(including municipalities and autonomous regions)in China from 2004 to 2016to measure RICI and analyze its dynamic characteristics from temporal and spatial perspectives.In this paper,Delphi analysis was used to construct RICI model,and cluster analysisand exploratory spatial data analysis were used to analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of RICI in China.The results showedthat RICI,which represents China’s overall economic growth drivers,increases annuallyand is consistent with economic developmentlevelduring the study period.Regarding the geo-spatial space,RICI follows the trend of“high in the east and low in the west”,gradually decreasing from eastern to western China.ForRIC structure,the shape of the radar chart of IC structure located in the eastern coastal areas is usually biased towards strong external relational capital,while that in western China is generally biased towards structural capital.For spatial correlation,China’s RICI has dependence on geographical adjacent space and economic space.Our research can provide policy suggestions for the sustainable development of regional economy from an IC perspective. | WANG Linchuan WU Cisheng ZHAO Xuyang LIU Duanyong ZHANG Tao | 2021 | Regional Sustainability2021,2,3: | 0 |
