| 1 | Current molecular methods for the detection of hepatitis C virus in high risk group population:A systematic review显示文摘Hepatitis C virus(HCV) is an emerging infection worldwide and the numbers of persons infected are increasing every year. Poor blood transfusion methods along with unsafe injection practices are potential sources for the rapid spread of infection. Early detection of HCV is the need of the hour especially in high riskgroup population as these individuals are severely immunocompromised. Enzyme Immunoassays are the most common detection techniques but they provide no evidence of active viremia or identification of infected individuals in the antibody-negative phase and their efficacy is limited in individuals within high risk group population. Molecular virological techniques have an important role in detecting active infection with utmost specificity and sensitivity. Technologies for assessment of HCV antibody and RNA levels have improved remarkably, as well as our understanding of how to best use these tests in patient management. This review aims to give an overview of the different serological and molecular methods employed in detecting HCV infection used nowadays. | 17 | Evaluation of the etiologies and rehabilitation status of patients with blindness: A prospective observational study显示文摘Objective:Preventive measures and appropriate rehabilitation are important in reducing the social burden of blindness.This study was to evaluate the etiologies,proportions,and level of rehabilitation for patients with blindness.Materials and Methods:A prospective observational study with 1000 visually impaired patients was conducted.The data regarding age,gender,socioeconomic status(SES),etiologies,curable or incurable blindness(IB),treatments,awareness,and state of rehabilitation were collected and reviewed.Results:The ratio of curable to IB was 0.82:1.The proportion of blindness rises after 40,even while the proportion of curable blindness(CB)increases after 60.The male–female ratios were 1.25:1 and 1:1.66 in the cases of CB and IB,respectively.On the other hand,the male–female ratio for childhood blindness was 1.66:1.Cataracts(78.22%)were the most common cause of CB,whereas diabetic retinopathy(24%),corneal opacity(17.5%),and trauma(12.4%)were causes of IB.Patients with illiteracy,low SES,and female gender were more likely to develop IB.There were low enrollment rates at the blind school and poor rehabilitation,mainly because of a lack of knowledge.Conclusion:Diabetic retinopathy,corneal opacity,and trauma are the major causes of IB.IB and poor rehabilitation were more profound in women and were associated with illiteracy,low SES,and a lack of awareness. | Sarmistha DAS Pankaj Kumar HALDER Suchidipa RAY Akholu VADEO Kallol PAUL Sneha SARKAR | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Nursing2023,5,4: | 0 |
| 18 | Water quality prediction of copper-molybdenum miningbeneficiation wastewater based on the PSO-SVR model显示文摘The mining-beneficiation wastewater treatment is highly complex and nonlinear.Various factors like influent quality,flow rate,pH and chemical dose,tend to restrict the effluent effectiveness of miningbeneficiation wastewater treatment.Chemical oxygen demand(COD)is a crucial indicator to measure the quality of mining-beneficiation wastewater.Predicting COD concentration accurately of miningbeneficiation wastewater after treatment is essential for achieving stable and compliant discharge.This reduces environmental risk and significantly improves the discharge quality of wastewater.This paper presents a novel AI algorithm PSO-SVR,to predict water quality.Hyperparameter optimization of our proposed model PSO-SVR,uses particle swarm optimization to improve support vector regression for COD prediction.The generalization capacity tested on out-of-distribution(OOD)data for our PSOSVR model is strong,with the following performance metrics of root means square error(RMSE)is 1.51,mean absolute error(MAE)is 1.26,and the coefficient of determination(R2)is 0.85.We compare the performance of PSO-SVR model with back propagation neural network(BPNN)and radial basis function neural network(RBFNN)and shows it edges over in terms of the performance metrics of RMSE,MAE and R2,and is the best model for COD prediction of mining-beneficiation wastewater.This is because of the less overfitting tendency of PSO-SVR compared with neural network architectures.Our proposed PSO-SVR model is optimum for the prediction of COD in copper-molybdenum mining-beneficiation wastewater treatment.In addition,PSO-SVR can be used to predict COD on a wide variety of wastewater through the process of transfer learning. | Xiaohua Fu Qingxing Zheng Guomin Jiang Kallol Roy Lei Huang Chang Liu Kun Li Honglei Chen Xinyu Song Jianyu Chen Zhenxing Wang | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,8: | 0 |
