1Photocatalytic properties of BiOX (X = Cl, Br, and Ⅰ)显示文摘A novel series of photocatalysts,bismuth oxyhalide(BiOX,X =Cl,Br,and I),were synthesized by a hydrolysis method.The powder sam- pies were characterized by the use of X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope,and UV-Vis spectrophotometer.The XRD pattern showed that all the BiOX were well crystallized in the tetragonal structure.The band gaps of the sheet-shaped compounds BiOX(X= Cl,Br,and I)were 3.44,2.76,and 1.85 eV,respectively.BiOBr showed the highest photocatalytic activity in degrading rhodamine B(RhB) and evolving O_2 for its proper valence band(VB).BiOI has no photocatalytic activity.BiOCl showed the highest activity in decomposing isopropanol because of electron-hole pair separation through trapping electrons by oxygen vacancies.AN Huizhong DU Yi WANG Tianmin WANG Cong HAO Weichang ZHANG Junying 2008Rare Metals2008,27,3:43
2Relative Contributions of Boundary-Layer Meteorological Factors to the Explosive Growth of PM2.5 during the Red-Alert Heavy Pollution Episodes in Beijing in December 2016显示文摘Based on observations of urban mass concentration of fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 μm in diameter(PM_(2.5)), ground meteorological data, vertical measurements of winds, temperature, and relative humidity(RH), and ECMWF reanalysis data, the major changes in the vertical structures of meteorological factors in the boundary layer(BL) during the heavy aerosol pollution episodes(HPEs) that occurred in winter 2016 in the urban Beijing area were analyzed. The HPEs are divided into two stages: the transport of pollutants under prevailing southerly winds, known as the transport stage(TS), and the PM_(2.5) explosive growth and pollution accumulation period characterized by a temperature inversion with low winds and high RH in the lower BL, known as the cumulative stage(CS). During the TS, a surface high lies south of Beijing, and pollutants are transported northwards. During the CS, a stable BL forms and is characterized by weak winds, temperature inversion, and moisture accumulation. Stable atmospheric stratification featured with light/calm winds and accumulated moisture(RH > 80%) below 250 m at the beginning of the CS is closely associated with the inversion, which is strengthened by the considerable decrease in near-surface air temperature due to the interaction between aerosols and radiation after the aerosol pollution occurs. A significant increase in the PLAM(Parameter Linking Aerosol Pollution and Meteorological Elements) index is found, which is linearly related to PM mass change. During the first 10 h of the CS, the more stable BL contributes approximately 84% of the explosive growth of PM_(2.5) mass. Additional accumulated near-surface moisture caused by the ground temperature decrease, weak turbulent diffusion, low BL height, and inhibited vertical mixing of water vapor is conducive to the secondary aerosol formation through chemical reactions, including liquid phase and heterogeneous reactions, which further increases the PM_(2.5) concentration levels. 4Seasonal characterization of components and size distributions for submicron aerosols in Beijing显示文摘Submicron aerosols(PM1)in Beijing were studied using an Aerodyne aerosol mass spectrometer(AMS)from January to October 2008.This paper presents seasonal variations of different chemical components(sulfate,nitrate,ammonium,chloride and organics)and size distributions of PM1.Results show that mass concentration of PM1 was highest in summer,and lowest in autumn.Organics represented the dominant species in all seasons,accounting for 36%-58%of PM1,and their concentrations were highest in winter.Concentrations of inorganic components,sulfate,nitrate,and ammonium were highest in summer. Based on principal component analysis,organics were deconvolved and quantified as hydrocarbon-like and oxygenated organic aerosol(HOA and OOA,respectively).HOA was highest in winter,accounting for about 70%of organics.However,OOA was highest in summer,and had lower values in autumn and winter.A similar diurnal pattern of various components was ob- served,which is higher at nighttime and lower during daytime.HOA increased more dramatically than other species between 17:00 and 21:00 and peaked at noon,which could be related to cooking emissions. OOA,sulfate,nitrate,ammonium and chloride varied with the same trend.Their concentrations increased with solar radiation from 9:00 to 13:00,and declined with weakening solar radiation.Size distributions of all species showed apparent peaks in the range 500-600 nm.Size distributions of organics were much broader than other species,particularly in autumn and winter.Distributions of sulfate,nitrate and ammonium had similar patterns,broadening in winter.Contributions of different species were size-dependent;the finer the particle,the greater the contribution of organics.Organics represented more than 60%of particles smaller than 200 nm,contributing 50%to PM1 in winter.In spring and summer,HOA was the dominant organic fraction for particles smaller than 200 nm, while OOA contributed more to particles larger than 300 nm.In winter,HOA contributed more than OOA to all PM1 particles.ZHANG YangMei SUN JunYing ZHANG XiaoYe SHEN XiaoJing WANG TingTing QIN MingKai 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,5:14
5Gene association study with SVM,MLP and cross-validation for the diagnosis of diseases显示文摘Gene association study is one of the major challenges of biochip technology both for gene diagnosis where only a gene subset is responsible for some diseases,and for the treatment of the curse of dimensionality which occurs especially in DNA microarray datasets where there are more than thousands of genes and only a few number of experiments(samples).This paper presents a gene selection method by training linear support vector machine(SVM)/nonlinear MLP(multilayer perceptron)classifiers and testing them with cross-validation for finding a gene subset which is optimal/suboptimal for the diagnosis of binary/multiple disease types.Genes are selected with linear SVM classifier for the diagnosis of each binary disease types pair and tested by leave-one-out cross-validation;then,genes in the gene subset initialized by the union of them are deleted one by one by removing the gene which brings the greatest decrease of the generalization power,for samples,on the gene subset after removal,where generalization is measured by training MLPs with leave-one-out and leave-four-out cross-validations.The proposed method was tested with experiments on real DNA microarray MIT data and NCI data.The result shows that it outperforms conventional SNR method in the separability of the data with expression levels on selected genes.For real DNA microarray MIT/NCI data,which is composed of 7129/2308 eective genes with only 72/64 labeled sam-ples belonging to 2/4 disease classes,only 11/6 genes are selected to be diagnostic genes.The selected genes are tested by the classification of samples on these genes with SVM/MLP with leave-one-out/both leave-one-out and leave-four-out cross-validations.The result of no misclassification indicates that the selected genes can be really considered as diagnostic genes for the diagnosis of the corresponding diseases.Junying Zhang Shenling Liu Yue Wang 2008Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2008,18,6:12
6Integrated removal of NO and mercury from coal combustion flue gas using manganese oxides supported on TiO_2显示文摘A catalyst composed of manganese oxides supported on titania(MnO_x/TiO_2) synthesized by a sol–gel method was selected to remove nitric oxide and mercury jointly at a relatively low temperature in simulated flue gas from coal-fired power plants. The physico-chemical characteristics of catalysts were investigated by X-ray fluorescence(XRF), X-ray diffraction(XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses, etc. The effects of Mn loading,reaction temperature and individual flue gas components on denitration and Hg^0 removal were examined. The results indicated that the optimal Mn/Ti molar ratio was 0.8 and the best working temperature was 240°C for NO conversion. O_2 and a proper ratio of [NH_3]/[NO]are essential for the denitration reaction. Both NO conversion and Hg^0 removal efficiency could reach more than 80% when NO and Hg^0 were removed simultaneously using Mn0.8 Tiat 240°C.Hg^0 removal efficiency slightly declined as the Mn content increased in the catalysts. The reaction temperature had no significant effect on Hg^0 removal efficiency. O_2 and HCl had a promotional effect on Hg^0 removal. SO2 and NH_3were observed to weaken Hg^0 removal because of competitive adsorption. NO first facilitated Hg^0 removal and then had an inhibiting effect as NO concentration increased without O_2, and it exhibited weak inhibition of Hg^0 removal efficiency in the presence of O_2. 9Preparation and properties of tungsten-doped indium oxide thin films显示文摘Tungsten-doped indium oxide (IWO) thin films were deposited on glass substrate by DC reactive magnetron sputtering. The effects of sputtering power and growth temperature on the structure, surface morphology, optical and electrical properties of IWO thin films were investigated. The thickness and surface morphology of the films are both closely dependent on the sputtering power and the substrate temperature. The transparency of the films decreases with the increase of the sputtering power but is not seriously influenced by substrate temperature. All the IWO thin film samples have high transmittance in near-infrared spectral range. With either the sputtering power or the growth temperature increases, the resistivity of the film decreases at the beginning and increases after the optimum parameters. The as-deposited IWO films with minimum resistivity of 6.4 10 4 cm were obtained at a growth temperature of225 C and sputteringpower of 40 W, with carrier mobility of 33.0 cm 2 V 1 s 1 and carrier concentration of 2.8 10 20 cm 3 and the average transmittance of about 81% in near-infrared region and about 87% in visible region.Li, Yuan Wang, Wenwen Zhang, Junying Wang, Rongming 2012Rare Metals2012,31,2:9
10BubR1 phosphorylates CENP-E as a switch enabling the transition from lateral association to end-on capture of spindle microtubules显示文摘Error-free mitosis depends on accurate chromosome attachment to spindle microtubules, powered congression of those chromosomes, their segregation in anaphase, and assembly of a spindle midzone at mitotic exit. The centromere-associated kinesin motor CENP-E, whose binding partner is BubR1, has been implicated in congression of misaligned chromosomes and the transition from lateral kinetochore-microtubule association to end-on capture. Although previously proposed to be a pseudokinase, here we report the structure of the kinase domain of Drosophila melanogaster BubR1, revealing its folding into a conformation predicted to be catalytically active. BubR1 is shown to be a bona fide kinase whose phosphorylation of CENP-E switches it from a laterally attached microtubule motor to a plus-end microtubule tip tracker. Computational modeling is used to identify bubristatin as a selective BubR1 kinase antagonist that targets the αN1 helix of N-terminal extension and αC helix of the BubR1 kinase domain. Inhibition of CENP-E phosphorylation is shown to prevent proper microtubule capture at kinetochores and, surprisingly, proper assembly of the central spindle at mitotic exit. 11Background concentrations of reactive gases and the impacts of long-range transport at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station显示文摘Lorentz curve fittings are applied to frequency distributions of the concentrations of O 3 , CO, NO x and SO 2 recorded at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station (JSH) from June 2006 to July 2007, and the peak concentrations of these species for the different seasons are obtained. The peak concentrations are considered to be representative of different background levels for certain processes. The peak concentrations are compared with the corresponding mean (median) concentrations, and the suitability and limitations of the mean (median) values as the background levels are discussed. The mean (median) values might represent the background concentrations in the region under some circumstances, but in other cases these values often underestimate or overestimate the true background concentrations owing to the transport of pollutants and other factors. The effects of air masses transported from different regions on the pollutant background concentrations are obtained by analyzing the 72-hour backward trajectories of air masses 100 m above the ground at JSH. These trajectories are estimated using the HYSPLIT model and then clustered for the measurement period. The spatial distribution and seasonal variations of trajectories and the corresponding mean concentrations of O 3 , SO 2 , NO x and CO for different clusters are analyzed. After filtering the seasonal changes in pollutant concentrations, the relative influences of air masses from different regions are obtained. The results show that JSH can be used to obtain the atmospheric background information of different air masses originating from or passing over the Yangtze River Delta, Central South China and the Jianghan Plain. Air masses from Central China, South China, and the western Yangtze River Delta contribute significantly to O 3 at JSH. Air masses from the north and northeast of JSH (i.e., the Jianghan Plain, Huang-Huai Plain and North China Plain) and the south (Central South China) contribute significantly to SO 2 , CO and NO x concentrations. Air masses originating from the ocean often bring clean air. 12MHD and kinetic analysis of flow bursts in the Earth's plasma sheet显示文摘In an attempt to study the flow bursts in the Earth’s plasma sheet we select an event that took place on August 7,2004 in the expansion phase of a substorm,using data from the geomagnetic index,solar wind data,plasma and magnetic field observations from C1 Cluster satellite(the Cluster mission has 4 satellites)and from Double Star TC-1 satellite.In MHD approach,TC-1 firstly observed the tailward flow,then the earthward,and finally the flow alternated in two directions.C1 firstly observed the earthward plasma flow,and then the tailward plasma flow.Before flow bursts are observed by TC-1 and C1,there are disturbances in local entropy with their tailward local entropy larger than those of the earthward.The kinetic features of the plasma flow observed by C1 are similar to those in MHD.However,kinetic characteristics of the plasma flow observed by TC-1 are far more than the description in MHD.The inadequacy mainly exists in two cases:(i)the firstly enhanced tailward flows given in MHD are found without significant increase of the energetic tailward flux;(ii)the almost stagnant flow in MHD is composed of the enhanced energetic ion flux in both earthward and tailward directions.The earthward flow burst observed by TC-1 might be multiple overshoots and rebounds.The earthward flow burst observed by C1 might be simply rebounded in the near-Earth.The pulsation observed by C1 is earlier than that observed by TC-1 with the former intensity less than that of the latter.After the energetic ion flux in the tailward direction is significantly enhanced,the power spectrum intensity of the ULF wave commences to increase obviously,which may suggest that the stream instability is closely correlated with ULF pulsations.MA YuDuan CAO JinBin FU HuiShan REME H. 13Aerosol Hygroscopicity during the Haze Red-Alert Period in December 2016 at a Rural Site of the North China Plain显示文摘A humidification system was deployed to measure aerosol hygroscopicity at a rural site of the North China Plain during the haze red-alert period 17–22 December 2016. The aerosol scattering coefficients under dry [relative humidity(RH) < 30%] and wet(RH in the range of 40%–85%) conditions were simultaneously measured at wavelengths of450, 550, and 700 nm. It is found that the aerosol scattering coefficient and backscattering coefficient increased by only 29% and 10%, respectively when RH went up from 40% to 80%, while the hemispheric backscatter fraction went down by 14%, implying that the aerosol hygroscopicity represented by the aerosol scattering enhancement factor f(RH) is relatively low and RH exerted little effects on the aerosol light scattering in this case. The scattering enhancement factors do not show significant differences at the three wavelengths, only with an approximate 2% variation, suggesting that the aerosol hygroscopicity is independent of the wavelength. Aerosol hygroscopicity is highly dependent on the aerosol chemical composition. When there is a large mass fraction of inorganics and a small mass fraction of organic matter, f(RH) reaches a high value. 14Correlation between the cumulative analgesic effect of electroacupuncture intervention and synaptic plasticity of hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus neurons in rats with sciatica显示文摘In the present study, a rat model of chronic neuropathic pain was established by ligation of the sciatic nerve and a model of learning and memory impairment was established by ovariectomy to investigate the analgesic effect of repeated electroacupuncture stimulation at bilateral Zusanli (ST36) and Yanglingquan (GB34). In addition, associated synaptic changes in neurons in the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus were examined. Results indicate that the thermal pain threshold (paw withdrawal latency) was significantly increased in rats subjected to 2-week electroacupuncture intervention compared with 2-day electroacupuncture, but the analgesic effect was weakened remarkably in ovariectomized rats with chronic constrictive injury. 2-week electroacupuncture intervention substantially reversed the chronic constrictive injury-induced increase in the synaptic cleft width and thinning of the postsynaptic density. 15Stable carbon and nitrogen isotope evidence of human and pig diets at the Qinglongquan site,China显示文摘Previous studies on the Rice-Millet(foxtail millet and common millet) Blended Zone in Chinese Neolithic have not clearly addressed such questions as the importance of primitive rice-millet mixed agriculture to human lifestyle and livestock managements within this region,the relationship among the development of the agriculture,paleoenvironment,and cultural interactions,and so on.Here stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis of human and pig bones from the Qinglongquan site was conducted,covering two cultural phases,namely the Qujialing Culture(3000 BC to 2600 BC) and the Shijiahe Culture(2600 BC to 2200 BC) .Based on this analysis,we further discussed the diets of ancient humans and pigs in the site,investigated the importance of rice-millet mixed agriculture to human and pig diets,and explored the relationship among the primitive rice agriculture and millet agriculture,cultural interactions,and paleoenvironment.The δ13C values of human bone collagen(-16.7‰ to-12.4‰,averaging-14.6‰±1.3‰,n=24) revealed that both C3 and C4 foods were consumed,probably from the contribution of rice(C3 plant) and millets(C4 plants) due to the coexistence of these crops at this site.In addition,the human mean δ13C value suggested that millet agriculture was only minor in human diets.The human δ15N values(6.6‰to 10.8‰,averaging 9.0‰±1.2‰,n=24) showed that animal resources played a significant role in human diets,and varied greatly.The mean δ13C value of the pigs(-14.3‰±2.5‰,n=13) was quite similar to that of the humans,but the mean δ15N value of the pigs was slightly less(1.3‰) .The similar δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs suggested that the pigs consumed a lot of humans'food remains.No correlations of the δ13C and δ15N values between humans and pigs showed that both human and pig diets were based mainly on plant foods,which might be related to highly developed rice-millet mixed agriculture at that time. In comparison with the human and pig diets between the two periods,millet agriculture contributed more than 10%in the Shijiahe Culture,if a simple mixing model was used.This apparent dietary shift matched the climatic variation and agricultural development through the time.In warm and humid climate with the expansion of the Qujialing Culture northwards,rice was widely cultivated.However,when the climate was cold and arid,northern culture was expanding southwards.Thus,millet agriculture became more important.GUO Yi HU YaoWu ZHU JunYing ZHOU Mi WANG ChangSui Michael P. 16SARS-CoV-2 promotes RIPK1 activation to facilitate viral propagation显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),is the ongoing global pandemic that poses substantial challenges to public health worldwide.A subset of COVID-19 patients experience systemic inflammatory response,known as cytokine storm,which may lead to death.Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1(RIPK1)is an important mediator of inflammation and cell death.Here,we examined the interaction of RIPK1-mediated innate immunity with SARS-CoV-2 infection.We found evidence of RIPK1 activation in human COVID-19 lung pathological samples,and cultured human lung organoids and ACE2 transgenic mice infected by SARS-CoV-2.Inhibition of RIPK1 using multiple smallmolecule inhibitors reduced the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in human lung organoids.Furthermore,therapeutic dosing of the RIPK1 inhibitor Nec-1s reduced mortality and lung viral load,and blocked the CNS manifestation of SARS-CoV-2 in ACE2 transgenic mice.Mechanistically,we found that the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase of SARS-CoV-2,NSP12,a highly conserved central component of coronaviral replication and transcription machinery,promoted the activation of RIPK1.Furthermore,NSP12323L variant,encoded by the SARS-CoV-2 C14408T variant first detected in Lombardy,Italy,that carries a Pro323Leu amino acid substitution in NSP12,showed increased ability to activate RIPK1.Inhibition of RIPK1 downregulated the transcriptional induction of proinflammatory cytokines and host factors including ACE2 and EGFR that promote viral entry into cells.Our results suggest that SARS-CoV-2 may have an unexpected and unusual ability to hijack the RIPK1-mediated host defense response to promote its own propagation and that inhibition of RIPK1 may provide a therapeutic option for the treatment of COVID-19.Gang Xu Ying Li Shengyuan Zhang Haoran Peng Yunyun Wang Dekang Li Taijie Jin Zhuohao He Yilun Tong Chunting Qi Guowei Wu Kangyun Dong Jizhou Gou Yang Liu Tongyang Xiao Jing Qu Liang Li Liang Liu Ping Zhao Zheng Zhang Junying Yuan 2021Cell Research2021,31,12:6

18Enhanced Performance of Osteoblasts by Silicon Incorporated Porous TiO_2 Coating显示文摘Silicon (Si) incorporated porous TiO 2 coating (Si-TiO 2) prepared on titanium (Ti) by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technique was demonstrated to be cytocompatible in previous studies.In view of the potential clinical applications,a detailed in vitro study of the biological activity of Si-TiO 2 coating,in terms of osteoblast (MC3T3-E1 cells) morphology,proliferation,differentiation and mineralization was performed.Immunofluorescent staining indicated that cells seeded on the Si-TiO 2 coating showed improved adhesion with developing mature cytoskeletons,which contained numerous distinct and well-defined actin stress fibers in the cell membranes compared with those on the TiO 2 coating and Ti plate.Results from proliferation assay showed that the proliferation rate of cells seeded on the Si-TiO 2 coating was significantly faster than that on the TiO 2 coating and Ti plate.Furthermore,the analysis of osteogenic gene expression demonstrated that the Si-TiO 2 coating stimulated the expression of osteoblast-related genes and promoted differentiation and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells.In addition,the Si-TiO 2 coating differentially regulated Wnt signaling pathway by up-regulating the expression of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor-related protein 5 (Lrp5),and downregulating the expression of Dickkopf-1 (Dkk1).All together,these results indicate that the investigated titanium with Si-TiO 2 coating is biocompatible and a good candidate material used as implants.Quanming Wang Hongjie Hu Yuqing Qiao Zhengxiang Zheng Junying Sun 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,2:5
19Single-crystalline layered double hydroxides with rich defects and hierarchical structure by mild reduction for enhancing the oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘The oxygen evolution reaction(OER)with sluggish reaction kinetics and large overpotential is the critical reaction in water splitting that is promising for energy storage and conversion.Layered double hydroxides(LDHs),due to their unique lamellar structure and flexibility of chemical component,are very competing material candidates for OER.Herein,the morphology structure and the electronic structure of LDHs were simultaneously tuned to improve the OER catalytic activity by mild solvothermal reduction using ethylene glycol.The increased surface area,the introduction of oxygen vacancies and the construction of hierarchical structure greatly enhanced the electro-catalytic activity of LDHs for OER.The as-prepared LDHs showed a lower over-potential as low as 276 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2,and a small Tafel slope of 40.3 mV dec-1 accompanied with good stability.This work provides an efficient way to the design and optimization of advanced catalysts in the future.Peng Zhou Junying He Yuqin Zou Yanyong Wang Chao Xie Ru Chen Shuangquan Zang Shuangyin Wang 2019Science China Chemistry2019,62,10:5
