2Identification of sources,characteristics and photochemical transformations of dissolved organic matter with EEM-PARAFAC in the Wei River of China显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM)in rivers is a critical regulator of the cycling and toxicity of pollutants and the behavior of DOM is a key indicator for the health of the environment.We investigated the sources and characteristics of DOM in surface water and sediment samples of the Wei River,China.Dissolved organic carbon(DOC)concentration and ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm(UV254)increased in the surface water and were decreased in the sediment downstream,indicating that the source of DOM in the water differed from the sediment.Parallel factor(PARAFAC)analysis of the excitation-emission matrices(EEM)revealed the presence of terrestrial humus-like,microbial humus-like and tryptophan-like proteins in the surface water,whereas the sediment contained UVA humic-like,UVC humic-like and fulvic-like in the sediment.The DOM in the surface water and sediment were mainly derived from microbial metabolic activity and the surrounding soil.Surface water DOM displayed greater photodegradation potential than sediment DOM.PARAFAC analysis indicated that the terrestrial humic-like substance in the water and the fulvic-like component in the sediment decomposed more rapidly.These data describe the characteristics of DOM in the Wei River and are crucial to understanding the fluctuations in environmental patterns.Yuanyuan Luo Yangyang Zhang Mengfan Lang Xuetao Guo Tianjiao Xia Tiecheng Wang Hanzhong Jia Lingyan Zhu 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,5:2

5Effect of Pingan Fang, a Traditional Chinese Medicine compound, on behavioral sensitization and conditioned place preference induced by ethanol in mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Pingan Fang(PG)on behavioral sensitization and conditioned place preference(CPP)induced by ethanol in mice,and to determine the intervention mechanism of PG on alcohol addiction.METHODS:A behavioral sensitization mouse model induced by ethanol was established to observe the effect of PG on the development and expression of behavioral sensitization induced by ethanol by recording the spontaneous activity of mice.The resident time of mice in a white box was measured to evaluate the effect of PG on developing CPP induced by ethanol.Concentrations of dopamine(DA),Glutamate(Glu),and?-aminobutyric acid(GABA)in the corresponding mesolimbic region of mice were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS:Although PG did not alter spontaneous activity in mice,it reduced the growth of spontaneous activity stimulated by ethanol.The residence time in the white box after-ethanol-training of mice in CPP experiments was decreased.CONCLUSION:Our data suggested that PG blocked the development and expression of behavioral sensitization induced by ethanol and the development of CPP in mice.The mechanism might be related to the decreased content of DA and Glu and increased content of GABA in the mesolimbic dopamine system.This suggests that PG might be useful for the prevention and treatment of alcohol addiction.Jia Lingyan Li Yibei Hu Xiaoyu Lin Wu Wen Dachao Zhong Sen 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2:1

7Temperature Effects on Unsaturated Hydraulic Property of Bentonite-Sand Buffer Backfilling Mixtures显示文摘The influence of temperature on the engineered properties of bentonite-sand mixtures (B/S) is of major concern in the design of engineered barriers in underground repositories for high-level radioactive waste disposal. We experimentally studied the influence of temperature on soil unsaturated hydraulic properties related to water holding capacity and permeability of GMZ B/S in China. The vapor equilibrium method and water infiltration apparatus were used to measure the soil water characteristic curve (SWCC) and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity (ku ). The results show that the SWCC under different temperatures from 20 ℃ to 60 ℃ tends to be the same. 8Dynamic phenotypic heterogeneity and the evolution of multiple RNA subtypes in hepatocellular carcinoma:the PLANET study显示文摘Intra-tumor heterogeneity(ITH) is a key challenge in cancer treatment, but previous studies have focused mainly on the genomic alterations without exploring phenotypic(transcriptomic and immune)heterogeneity. Using one of the largest prospective surgical cohorts for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with multi-region sampling, we sequenced whole genomes and paired transcriptomes from 67 HCC patients(331 samples). We found that while genomic ITH was rather constant across stages, phenotypic ITH had a very different trajectory and quickly diversified in stage Ⅱ patients. Most strikingly, 30% of patients were found to contain more than one transcriptomic subtype within a single tumor. Such phenotypic ITH was found to be much more informative in predicting patient survival than genomic ITH and explains the poor efficacy of single-target systemic therapies in HCC. 9Catalytic steam reforming of biomass over Ni-based catalysts: Conversion from poplar leaves to hydrogen-rich syngas显示文摘A series of Ni/SBA-15 catalysts with Ni contents from 5 wt%–20 wt%and CaO-12.5%Ni/SBA-15 catalysts with CaO contents from 1.4 wt%–9.8 wt%have been prepared.The structure of the catalysts was characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),N2 adsorption-desorption,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The performance of catalytic steam reforming of the poplar leaves to the hydrogen-rich syngas was tested in a fixed-bed reactor.The results indicate that the 7.0wt%CaO-12.5wt%Ni/SBA-15 catalyst exhibits the best performance for the catalytic steam reforming of poplar leaves to hydrogen-rich syngas.The ratio of H2:CO can reach ca 5:1 in the hydrogen-rich syngas.The yield of H2 can reach 273.30 mL/g(poplar leaves).In the CaO-Ni/SBA-15 catalyst,Ni active component mainly fills the role of catalytic steam reforming of the poplar leaves,and CaO active component mainly plays the role as water-gas shift and CO2 sorbent.Lingyan Cao Zhigang Jia Shengfu Ji Jinyong Hu 2011Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,4:1

12Aristolochic acids exposure was not the main cause of liver tumorigenesis in adulthood显示文摘Aristolochic acids(AAs) have long been considered as a potent carcinogen due to its nephrotoxicity. Aristolochic acid I(AAI) reacts with DNA to form covalent aristolactam(AL)-DNA adducts,leading to subsequent A to T transversion mutation, commonly referred as AA mutational signature. Previous research inferred that AAs were widely implicated in liver cancer throughout Asia. In this study, we explored whether AAs exposure was the main cause of liver cancer in the context of HBV infection in China's Mainland. Totally 1256 liver cancer samples were randomly retrieved from 3 medical centers and a refined bioanalytical method was used to detect AAI-DNA adducts. 5.10% of these samples could be identified as AAI positive exposure. Whole genome sequencing suggested 8.41% of 107 liver cancer patients exhibited the dominant AA mutational signature, indicating a relatively low overall AAI exposure rate. In animal models, long-term administration of AAI barely increased liver tumorigenesis in adult mice, opposite from its tumor-inducing role when subjected to infant mice. Furthermore, AAI induced dose-dependent accumulation of AA-DNA adduct in target organs in adult mice, with the most detected in kidney instead of liver.
