1Arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism metasurfaces for all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers显示文摘The control of polarization,an essential property of light,is of broad scientific and technological interest.Polarizers are indispensable optical elements for direct polarization generation.However,arbitrary polarization generation,except that of common linear and circular polarization,relies heavily on bulky optical components such as cascading linear polarizers and waveplates.Here,we present an effective strategy for designing all-in-one full Poincare sphere polarizers based on perfect arbitrary polarization conversion dichroism and implement it in a monolayer all-dielectric metasurface.This strategy allows preferential transmission and conversion of one polarization state located at an arbitrary position on the Poincare sphere to its handedness-flipped state while completely blocking its orthogonal state.In contrast to previous methods that were limited to only linear or circular polarization,our method manifests perfect dichroism of nearly 100%in theory and greater than 90%experimentally for arbitrary polarization states.By leveraging this attractive dichroism,our demonstration of the generation of polarization beams located at an arbitrary position on a Poincare sphere directly from unpolarized light can substantially extend the scope of meta-optics and dramatically promote state-of-the-art nanophotonic devices.Shuai Wang Zi-Lan Deng Yujie Wang Qingbin Zhou Xiaolei Wang Yaoyu Cao Bai-Ou Guan Shumin Xiao Xiangping Li 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2:6

3Rabdosia serra alleviates dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis in mice through anti-inflammation,regulating Th17/Treg balance,maintaining intestinal barrier integrity,and modulating gut microbiota显示文摘Rabdosia serra(R.serra),an important component of Chinese herbal tea,has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis,jaundice,cholecystitis,and colitis.However,the chemical composition of R.serra and its effect against colitis remain unclear.In this study,the chemical composition of the water extract of R.serra was analyzed using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with a hybrid linear ion trap quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer(UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS).A total of 46 compounds,comprising ent-kaurane diterpenoids,flavonoids,phenolic acids,and steroids,were identified in the water extract of R.serra,and the extract could significantly alleviate dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis by improving colon length,upregulating anti-inflammatory factors,downregulating proinflammatory factors,and restoring the balance of T helper 17/T regulatory cells.R.serra also preserved intestinal barrier function by increasing the level of tight junction proteins(zonula occludens 1 and occludin)in mouse colonic tissue.In addition,R.serra modulated the gut microbiota composition by increasing bacterial richness and diversity,increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria(Muribaculaceae,Bacteroides,Lactobacillus,and Prevotellaceae_UCG-001),and decreasing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria(Turicibacter,Eubacterium_fissicatena_group,and Eubacterium_xylanophilum_group).Gut microbiota depletion by antibiotics further confirmed that R.serra alleviated colitis in a microbiota-dependent manner.Overall,our findings provide chemical and biological evidence for the potential application of R.serra in the management of colitis.Hongyi Li Yi Wang Shumin Shao Hui Yu Deqin Wang Chuyuan Li Qin Yuan Wen Liu Jiliang Cao Xiaojuan Wang Haibiao Guo Xu Wu Shengpeng Wang 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,6:4
4Trends of Wireless Mobile Communications-Broadbandization and Mobilization显示文摘The puzzling picture of the issue of 3G licenses In China that would affect several hundred billions of investment becomes clearer. It Is possible that the Chinese government will issue 3G licenses in 2006. Therefore, at the beginning of this year, we have the honor of inviting Ms. Cao Shumin, a well-known mobile communications expert in China and Vice President of China Academy of Telecommunication Research, to give a special contribution on the development trends of wireless mobile communications. This article points out that the hot topics in the wireless mobile communications field in 2005 included HSDPA, 1x EV-DO Release A, WiMAX, E3G and B3G. In addition, the article shows that the trends of mobile broadbandization and broadband mobilization are more obvious with the quickening of commercialization and standardization of these technologies. Moreover, technology development becomes more rapid and technical competition more severe in the wireless communications field. The development of wireless communications shows a tendency of gradual convergence of networks, integrated applications of multiple access technologies, and unceasing launch of new services. 6Molecular cloning and characterization of a gene encoding the proline transporter protein in common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.)显示文摘As a typical compatible solute, proline is accumulated in plants under environmental stresses. Proline transporter(Pro T) plays an important role in proline distribution between plant organs. Using a candidate gene approach, we cloned a c DNA sequence for Pro T from common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and designated the gene Pv Pro T. The deduced amino acid sequence of Pv Pro T showed high similarity to Bet/Pro T proteins from other leguminous plants, and the highest similarity was observed with mothbean(Vigna aconitifolia L.) Vu Pro T.Relative quantification of the m RNA level of Pv Pro T using real-time PCR analysis showed that the Pv Pro T transcript level was higher in leaves than in stems and roots of common bean plants subjected to drought and salt stress. Under 20%(w/w) PEG-6000 treatment,drought-resistant plants expressed a higher level of Pv Pro T transcripts than droughtsensitive plants. Although heterologous expression of Pv Pro T in the Escherichia coli mutant mkh13 showed that Pv Pro T exhibited uptake activities for proline and betaine, no betaine content was detected in the common bean. 8Gentianine protects hippocampal neurons in a rat model of recurrent febrile convulsion显示文摘Gentianine has been shown to have a protective effect on hippocampal CA1 neurons in rats subjected to recurrent febrile convulsion(FC).The present study sought to explore the possible mechanism of gentianine by intraperitoneally injecting gentianine into rats with warm water-induced FC.The results revealed that neuronal organelle injury was slightly ameliorated in the hippocampal CA1 region.The level of glutamate was decreased,but the level of γ-aminobutyric acid was increased,as detected by ninhydrin staining.In addition,glutamate acid decarboxylase expression in hippocampal CA1 was increased,as determined by immunohistochemistry.The results demonstrated that gentianine can ameliorate FC-induced neuronal injury by enhancing glutamate acid decarboxylase activity,decreasing glutamate levels and increasing γ-aminobutyric acid levels.Xuewei Liu Shumin Liu Na Wang Fang Lu Min Cao 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15:1

10Prediction of Newhall navel orange internal quality based on digital microscopy显示文摘The traditional technology for internal quality detection of citrus fruit is believed to be destructive,inefficient,and error-prone.To address these issues,a novel method has been developed to evaluate nondestructively the sugar-acid ratio(SAR)of soluble solids by using the oil glands density(OGD).In this study,a total of 584 samples with different widths were collected.The sample data were correlated that the SAR and OGD decreased with time during storage.The relevance with time was significant between SAR and OGD of citrus positively correlated in the calibration group(R2=0.82),which indicated that OGD could be used to predict the internal quality of citrus.It indicated that a new generation of digital microscopy could provide an alternative to predict nondestructively the internal quality of citrus fruit,as well as some theoretical insight for further studies of online quality detection in the future.Shumin Gao Cong Cao Dingyi Hu Rangwei Xu Yunjiang Cheng Hong Chen Ming Zhu Shanjun Li 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,6:0
11Suppressing meta-holographic artifacts by laser coherence tuning显示文摘A metasurface hologram combines fine spatial resolution and large viewing angles with a planar form factor and compact size.However,it suffers coherent artifacts originating from electromagnetic cross-talk between closely packed meta-atoms and fabrication defects of nanoscale features.Here,we introduce an efficient method to suppress all artifacts by fine-tuning the spatial coherence of illumination.Our method is implemented with a degenerate cavity laser,which allows a precise and continuous tuning of the spatial coherence over a wide range,with little variation in the emission spectrum and total power.We find the optimal degree of spatial coherence to suppress the coherent artifacts of a meta-hologram while maintaining the image sharpness.This work paves the way to compact and dynamical holographic displays free of coherent defects.Yaniv Eliezer Geyang Qu Wenhong Yang Yujie Wang Hasan Yılmaz Shumin Xiao Qinghai Song Hui Cao 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,7:0
12Visualizing Complex Anatomical Structure in Bamboo Nodes Based on X-ray Microtomography显示文摘In recent years,bamboo has been widely used in a broad range of applications,a thorough understanding of the structural characteristics of bamboo nodes is essential for better processing and manufacturing of biomimetic materials.This study investigated the complex anatomical structure for the nodes of two bamboo species,Indocalamus latifolius(Keng)McClure and Shibataea chinensis Nakai,using a high-resolution X-ray microtomography(μCT).The results show that the vascular bundle system in the nodal region of I.latifolius and S.chinensis is a net-like structure composed of horizontal and axial vascular bundles.Furthermore,the fiber sheath surrounding metaxylem vessels tended to be shorter in the tangential direction.This structure of bamboo nodes facilitates the tangential and axial transport of moisture and nutrients.The anatomical structure of I.latifolius and S.chinensis nodes has obvious differences,especially in the arrangement of vascular bundles.Vascular bundle frequency was significantly higher in S.chinensis nodes than in I.latifolius nodes.These findings indicate thatμCT is a nondestructive three-dimensional imaging method that can used to examine the anatomical structure of bamboo nodes.Elin Xiang Shumin Yang Chunjie Cao Xinge Liu Guanyun Peng Lili Shang Genlin Tian Qianli Ma Jianfeng Ma 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,9:0

14Preparation of Polyclonal Antisera of Dairy Cow S100A12 Protein显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to prepare dairy cow anti-S100A12 antisera and develop a highly effective and sensitive immunological detection reagent for further investigation of the functions of dairy cow S100A12.[Method] Purified S100A12 protein was respectively emulsified with Freund's complete adjuvant and Freund's incomplete adjuvant as the antigen for immunizing New Zealand white rabbits to prepare the polyclonal antisera.The titer was detected using agar double diffusion assay and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the specificity was determined with Western Blot.[Result] The titer of anti-S100A12 antisera was 1∶8 as determined by agar double diffusion assay and over 1∶409 600 by ELISA.Western Blot result showed that the polyclonal antisera could be specifically combined with S100A12 protein.[Conclusion] The results indicated that anti-S100A12 polyclonal antibody with high titer and high specificity was successfully obtained, which provided a novel tool for further investigation of the functions of S100A12 gene.Suizhong CAO Yafei CUI Xueping YAO Kang YONG Jishang LI Shumin YU 2013Agricultural Biotechnology2013,2,3:0
15Construction and Identification of Mammary Gland-specific Expression Vector of Bovine Tracheal Antimicrobial Peptide (TAP)显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to construct mammary gland-specific expression vector of bovine tracheal antimicrobial peptide (TAP) gene. [Method] TAP gene of dairy cattle was amplified from the mammary gland tissue by RT-PCR using a pair of primers which were designed according to bovine TAP cDNA sequence (NM_174776) in GenBank,and then cloned into pMD19-T Simple vector for sequencing. The recombinant plasmid was digested using EcoRⅠand KpnⅠ, the target gene fragment was recovered and inserted into general mammary gland-specific expression vector pBLG-EGFP harboring enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) ,and transfected into bovine mammary epithelial cells ( bMEC) ,COS-7 cells and lactating rabbit mammary gland tissue by lipofectin transfection. The expression of green fluorescent protein in transfected cells was detected under fluorescence microscopy,and the expression of TAP mRNA in rabbit mammary gland tissue was detected by semi-quantity RT-PCR. [Result] The constructed mammary gland-specific expression vector pBLG-EGFP-TAP specifically expressed EGFP in transfected bMECs. In addition,semi-quantitative RT-PCR result showed that the expression level of TAP mRNA in rabbit mammary gland tissue was significantly enhanced after transfected with pBLG-EGFP-TAP.
