| 5 | Effects of Region and Elevation on Adaptation of Leaf Functional Traits of an Invasive Plant Erigeron annuus in China显示文摘A key scientific challenge relating to the threat of invasive plants on agriculture at the region level is to understand their adaptation and evolution in functional traits.Leaf functional traits,related to growth and resource utilization,might lead to adaptation of invasive plants to the geographical barriers(region or elevation).In the field experiment,we discussed the effects of region and elevation on leaf functional traits on invasive plant Erigeron annuus in farmland habitats in China.We compared leaf size,coefficient of variation(CV)of leaf traits,and fluctuating asymmetry(FA)of E.annuus from three regions(east vs.center vs.west)and two leaf types(vegetative vs.reproductive leaf),and from nine elevations(980-2100 m)in the west region of China.Our results indicated region and leaf type influenced leaf functional traits,and leaf size was significantly higher and CV of leaf traits and FA in reproductive leaves were significantly lower in the east region than in the west and center regions.Elevation and leaf type affected leaf functional traits,and leaf size was significantly higher and CV of leaf traits in reproductive leaves were significantly lower in moderate elevation.E.annuus has higher leaf size and developmental stability(lower CV and FA)in the eastern region due to the longer adaptation period.Therefore,leaf functional traits play an important role in the adaptation of different longitudes and elevations.It can also facilitate the understanding of the invasiveness and adaptation of leaf traits of invasive plants in the agricultural ecosystem during their spread process in China. | Yuanyuan Liu Zhen Li Lie Xu Qiang Fu Yongjian Wang | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,1: | 0 |
| 6 | H_(2)O_(2)‑Responsive MB–BSA–Fe(III)Nanoparticles as Oxygen Generators for MRI‑Guided Photodynamic Therapy显示文摘The local tumor hypoxia has become one of the main obstacles for photodynamic therapy(PDT).To break through this barrier,the fabrication of O_(2)-evolving nanoplatform has been more significant.Herein,the uniform methylene blue(MB)–bovine serum albumin(BSA)–Fe(III)nanoparticles(MB–BSA–Fe(III)NPs)were successfully synthesized by biomineralization approach.MB–BSA–Fe(III)NPs show high loading capacity of MB,and Fe(ΙΙΙ)has excellent catalytic performance towards abundant H_(2)O_(2) in cancer cells to generate O_(2),overcoming tumor hypoxia.All these combination effects remarkably increase the therapeutic efficiency of PDT,resulting in almost complete destruction of cancer cells.Most importantly,MB–BSA–Fe(III)NPs exhibit T2-magnetic resonance imaging,which have the potential for precise visualization of the tumor location.Our results demonstrate that MB–BSA–Fe(III)is a novel H_(2)O_(2)-responsive and O_(2)-evolving nanoplatform and it has great potential for clinical applications such as cancer diagnosis,treatment or drug delivery. | Wen‑Yao Zhen Jing Bai Xiao‑Dan Jia Lie Wu Xiu‑E Jiang | 2018 | Journal of Analysis and Testing2018,2,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Generation of singlet oxygen via iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and its role in Ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis is a cell death pathway mediated by iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxide.However,the specific downstream molecular events of iron-dependent lipid peroxidation are yet to be elucidated.In this study,based on various spectral analyses,we have found evidence that singlet oxygen is produced through the Russell mechanism during the self-reaction of lipid peroxyl radicals generated via iron-dependent lipid peroxidation regardless of the presence of cholesterol.Significantly reduced generation of singlet oxygen was observed in the absence of iron.The generated singlet oxygen accelerated the oxidative damage of lipid membranes by propagating lipid peroxidation and facilitated ferroptotic cancer cell death initiated by erastin.In this work,singlet oxygen has been revealed to be a new reactive species that participates in ferroptosis,thus improving the understanding on iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and the mechanism of ferroptosis. | Xiaofei Zhang Lie Wu Wenyao Zhen Shanshan Li Xiue Jiang | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,1: | 0 |
