| 1 | Breakthrough of extracellular vesicles in pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA)is a highly prevalent whole-joint disease that causes disability and pain and affects a patient’s quality of life.However,currently,there is a lack of effective early diagnosis and treatment.Although stem cells can promote cartilage repair and treat OA,problems such as immune rejection and tumorigenicity persist.Extracellular vesicles(EVs)can transmit genetic information from donor cells and mediate intercellular communication,which is considered a functional paracrine factor of stem cells.Increasing evidences suggest that EVs may play an essential and complex role in the pathogenesis,diagnosis,and treatment of OA.Here,we introduced the role of EVs in OA progression by influencing inflammation,metabolism,and aging.Next,we discussed EVs from the blood,synovial fluid,and joint-related cells for diagnosis.Moreover,we outlined the potential of modified and unmodified EVs and their combination with biomaterials for OA therapy.Finally,we discuss the deficiencies and put forward the prospects and challenges related to the application of EVs in the field of OA. | Zichang Liu Yu Zhuang Lianfei Fang Changyong Yuan Xudong Wang Kaili Lin | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,4: | 3 |

| 14 | Stability and Thermal Property Optimization of Propylene Glycol-Based MWCNT Nanofluids显示文摘Propylene glycol-based MWCNT(multi-walled carbon nanotubes)nanofluids were prepared in the framework of a two-step method and by using a suitable PVP(polyvinyl pyrrolidone)dispersant.The BBD(Box-Behnken design)model was exploited to analyze 17 sets of experiments and examine the sensitivity of the absorbance to three parameters,namely the concentration of MWCNT,the SN ratio(mass ratio of carbon nanotubes to sur-factants)and the sonication time.The results have revealed that,while the SN ratio and concentration of MWCNT have a strong effect on the absorbance,the influence of the sonication time is less important.The sta-tistical method of analysis of variance(ANOVA)was further used to determine the F-and p-values of the model.Five experiments were run to validate this approach.Since sample 2 was found to display the greatest absorbance,it was selected for stability monitoring as well as thermal conductivity and viscosity measurements.This sample has been found to be stable;the viscosity decreased with increasing temperature;the addition of MWCNT nano-particles was more effective in improving the thermal conductivity of propylene glycol than other methods in the literature.Moreover,the MWCNT nanofluid based on propylene glycol exhibited higher thermal conductivity at low temperatures. | Xi Wang Shan Qing Zhumei Luo Yiqin Liu Zichang Shi Jiachen Li | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,9: | 0 |

| 16 | WGCNA and LASSO algorithm constructed an immune infiltration-related 5-gene signature and nomogram to improve prognosis prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a common immunogenic malignant tumor.Although the new strategies of immunotherapy and targeted therapy have made considerable progress in the treatment of HCC,the 5-year survival rate of patients is still very low.The identification of new prognostic signatures and the exploration of the immune microenvironment are crucial to the optimization and improvement of molecular therapy strategies.We studied the potential clinical benefits of the inflammation regulator miR-93-3p and mined its target genes.Weighted gene coexpression network analysis(WGCNA),univariate and multivariate COX regression and the LASSO COX algorithm are employed to identify prognostic-related genes and construct multi-gene signature-based risk model and nomogram for survival prediction.Support vector machine(SVM)based Cibersort’s deconvolution algorithm and gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA)is used to evaluate the changes in tumor immune microenvironment and pathway differences.The study found the favorable prognostic performance of miR-93-3p and identified 389 prognostic-related target genes.The risk model based on a novel 5-gene signature(cct5,cdk4,cenpa,dtnbp1 and flvcr1)was developed and has prominent prognostic significance in the training cohort(P<0.0001)and validation cohort(P=0.0016).The nomogram constructed by combining the gene signature and the AJCC stage further improves the survival prediction ability of the gene signature.The infiltration level of multiple immune cells(especially T cells,B cells and macrophages)were positively correlated with the expression of prognostic signature.In addition,we found that gene markers of T cells and B cells is monitored and regulated by prognostic signature.Meanwhile,several GSEA pathways related to the immune system are enriched in the high-risk group.In general,we integrated the WGCNA,LASSO COX and SVM algorithms to develop and verify 5-gene signatures and nomograms related to immune infiltration to improve the survival prediction of patients. | MENG FANG JING GUO HAIPING WANG ZICHANG YANG HAN ZHAO QINGJIA CHI | 2022 | BIOCELL2022,46,2: | 0 |
| 17 | Co-planted barnyardgrass reduces rice yield by inhibiting plant above-and belowground-growth during post-heading stages显示文摘Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa spp.) is the most common noxious weed in rice paddies as it inhibits rice growth and reduces grain yield.To date,little information is available on above-and belowgroundgrowth changes in rice due to neighboring barnyardgrass.This study aimed to investigate the changes in root traits and shoot growth of rice when it is grown with different kinds of barnyardgrass.Japonica rice plants (var.Nanjing 9108) were co-cultured with two varieties of Echinochloa crusgalli (L.) Beauv.(EP,var.mitis (pursh) Petern;EH,var.zelayensis (H.B.K.) Hitchc),and E.colonum (L.) Link (EL) in the field in 2017 and 2018.Four treatments included control (i.e.,weed free rice plants) and co-cultures with each of three barnyardgrasses (EP,EH,and EL).The results revealed that EP,EH,and EL treatments significantly reduced rice grain yields by 30.6%–36.2%,42.5%–46.5%,and 10.6%–14.3%,respectively.Shoot growth including shoot dry weight,leaf photosynthetic rate,zeatin (Z) and zeatin riboside (ZR) in grains,and activities of key enzymes involved in sucrose-to-starch conversion in grains and root traits,such as length density,root dry weight,total absorbing surface area,active absorption surface area,oxidation activity,and Z+ZR contents in roots were dramatically reduced during post-heading stages of rice when grown with the three kinds of barnyardgrass.Moreover,above-mentioned rice shoot growth indices were strongly and positively correlated with root traits.These results suggested the decrease in rice shoot growth and root traits during post-heading stages contributes to the reduction in the rice yield when it grows with barnyardgrass neighbors. | Zichang Zhang Jingjing Cao Tao Gu Xia Yang Qiong Peng Lianyang Bai Yongfeng Li | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,5: | 0 |

| 20 | Spectrally multiplexed indistinguishable single-photon generation at telecom-band显示文摘Heralded single-photon source(HSPS)intrinsically suffers from the trade-off between the heralded single-photon rate and the single-photon purity.To break through this trade-off,one can apply multiplexing technology in different degrees of freedom that significantly improves the performance of the HSPS.Here,we propose a 1.5μm chip-scale HSPS on lithium niobate on insulator by employing spectral multiplexing and active feedforward spectral manipulating,and we demonstrate a proof-of-principle experiment with discrete fiber-based components.With continuous-wave laser pumping and three spectral modes multiplexed,our experimental results show that the spectral multiplexing improves the heralded single-photon rate by near threefold while keeping the g^((2))(0)as low as 0.0006±0.0001 at a measured single-photon rate of 3.1 kHz.By measuring the joint spectral intensity,we show that the spectral multiplexing and feed-forward control effectively erase the frequency correlation of photon pairs.Moreover,we implement the Hong-Ou-Mandel interference between the spectrally multiplexed single photons and photons from an independent weak coherence source,which indicates that the multiplexed single photons are highly indistinguishable after the spectral manipulation.Our results pave a way for on-chip scalable and high-performance HSPS with spectral multiplexing toward deterministic single-photon emission. | HAO YU CHENZHI YUAN RUIMING ZHANG ZICHANG ZHANG HAO LI YOU WANG GUANGWEI DENG LIXING YOU HAIZHI SONG ZHIMING WANG GUANG-CAN GUO QIANG ZHOU | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,6: | 0 |
