1The Cenozoic activities of Yangjiang-Yitongdong Fault: insights from analysis of the tectonic characteristics and evolution processes in western Zhujiang(Pearl) River Mouth Basin显示文摘The Yangjiang-Yitongdong Fault (YJF) is an important NW-trending regional fault, which divides the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Mouth Basin (ZRMB) into western and eastern segments. In Cenozoic, the northern continental margin of the South China Sea (SCS) underwent continental rifting, breakup, seafloor spreading and thermal subsidence processes, and the Cenozoic activities of YJF is one part of this series of complex processes. Two long NW-trending multichannel seismic profiles located on both sides of the YJF extending from the continental shelf to Continent-Ocean Boundary (COB) were used to study the tectonic and sedimentary characteristics of western ZRMB. Using the 2D-Move software and back-stripping method, we constructed the balance cross-section model and calculated the fault activity rate. Through the comprehensive consideration of tectonic position, tectonic evolution history, featured structure, and stress analysis, we deduced the activity history of the YJF in Cenozoic. The results showed that the YJF can be divided into two segments by the central uplift belt. From 65 Ma to 32 Ma, the YJF was in sinistral motion as a whole, inherited the preexisting sinistral motion of Mesozoic YJF, in which, the southern part of YJF was mainly in extension activity, controlling the formation and evolution of Yunkai Low Uplift, coupled with slight sinistral motion. From 32 Ma to 23.8 Ma, the sinistral motion in northern part of YJF continued, while the sinistral motion in southern part began to stop or shifted to a slightly dextral motion. After 23.8 Ma, the dextral motion in southern part of YJF continued, while the sinistral motion in northern part of YJF gradually stopped, or shifted to the slightly dextral motion. The shift of the YJF strike-slip direction may be related to the magmatic underplating in continent-ocean transition, southeastern ZRMB. 2Highly enhanced visible-light photocatalytic NOx purification and conversion pathway on self-structurally modified g-C-3N4 nanosheets显示文摘The unmodified graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) suffers from low photocatalytic activity because of the unfavourable structure.In the present work,we reported a simple self-structural modification strategy to optimize the microstructure of g-C_3N_4 and obtained graphene-like g-C_3N_4 nanosheets with porous structure.In contrast to traditional thermal pyrolysis preparation of g-C_3N_4,the present thermal condensation was improved via pyrolysis of thiourea in an alumina crucible without a cover,followed by secondary heat treatment.The popcorn-like formation and layer-by-layer thermal exfoliation of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was proposed to explain the formation mechanism.The photocatalytic removal performance of both NO and NO_2 with the graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 for was significantly enhanced by selfstructural modification.Trapping experiments and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS) measurement were conducted to detect the active species during photocatalysis and the conversion pathway of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis for NO_x purification was revealed.The photocatalytic activity of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was highly enhanced due to the improved charge separation and increased oxidation capacity of the ·O_2^- radicals and holes.This work could not only provide a novel self-structural modification for design of highly efficient photocatalysts,but also offer new insights into the mechanistic understanding of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis.Yuhan Li Yanjuan Sun Wingkei Ho Yuxin Zhang Hongwei Huang Qiang Cai Fan Dong 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,10:7
3Brain Network Analysis of Schizophrenia Based on the Functional Connectivity显示文摘Network analysis based on graph theory has greatly promoted the cognition of the human brain network. A detailed brain network function connection analysis was carried out for the brain of normal human brain and mental illness patients. We studied the Magnetoencephalography(MEG) of 9 normal subjects and9 schizophrenics in left hemisphere temporal lobe and frontal lobe regions. And obtained the dynamic function connectivity matrix by calculating Pearson correlation coefficients that based on sliding time window and shorttime Fourier transform, and constructed weight and binary network by graph theory. 4Histone deacetylase inhibitors inhibit cervical cancer growth through Parkin acetylationmediated mitophagy显示文摘Parkin,an E3 ubiquitin ligase,plays a role in maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis through targeting damaged mitochondria for mitophagy.Accumulating evidence suggests that the acetylation modification of the key mitophagy machinery influences mitophagy level,but the underlying mechanism is poorly understood.Here,our study demonstrated that inhibition of histone deacetylase(HDAC)by treatment of HDACis activates mitophagy through mediating Parkin acetylation,leading to inhibition of cervical cancer cell proliferation.Bioinformatics analysis shows that Parkin expression is inversely correlated with HDAC2 expression in human cervical cancer,indicating the low acetylation level of Parkin.Using mass spectrometry,Parkin is identified to interact with two upstream molecules,acetylase acetyl-Co A acetyltransferase 1(ACAT1)and deacetylase HDAC2.Under treatment of suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid(SAHA),Parkin is acetylated at lysine residues 129,220 and 349,located in different domains of Parkin protein.In in vitro experiments,combined mutation of Parkin largely attenuate the interaction of Parkin with PTEN induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)and the function of Parkin in mitophagy induction and tumor suppression.In tumor xenografts,the expression of mutant Parkin impairs the tumor suppressive effect of Parkin and decreases the anticancer activity of SAHA.Our results reveal an acetylation-dependent regulatory mechanism governing Parkin in mitophagy and cervical carcinogenesis,which offers a new mitophagy modulation strategy for cancer therapy.Xin Sun Yuhan Shu Guiqin Ye Caixia Wu Mengting Xu Ruilan Gao Dongsheng Huang Jianbin Zhang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:3
5Nuclear UHRF1 is a gate-keeper of cellular AMPK activity and function显示文摘The AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)is a central regulator of energy homeostasis.Although much has been learned on how low energy status and glucose starvation activate AMPK,how AMPK activity is properly controlled in vivo is still poorly understood.Here we report that UHRF1,an epigenetic regulator highly expressed in proliferating and cancer cells,interacts with AMPK and serves to suppress AMPK activity under both basal and stressed conditions.As a nuclear protein,UHRF1 promotes AMPK nuclear retention and strongly suppresses nuclear AMPK activity toward substrates H2B and EZH2.Importantly,we demonstrate that UHRF1 also robustly inhibits AMPK activity in the cytoplasm compartment,most likely as a consequence of AMPK nucleocytoplasmic shuttling.Mechanistically,we found that UHRF1 has no obvious effect on AMPK activation by upstream kinases LKB1 and CAMKK2 but inhibits AMPK activity by acting as a bridging factor targeting phosphatase PP2A to dephosphorylate AMPK.Hepatic overexpression of UHRF1 showed profound effects on glucose and lipid metabolism in wild-type mice but not in those with the liver-specific knockout of AMPKα1/α2,whereas knockdown of UHRF1 in adipose tissue led to AMPK activation and reduced sizes of adipocytes and lipogenic activity,highlighting the physiological significance of this regulation in glucose and lipid metabolism.Thus,our study identifies UHRF1 as a novel AMPK gate-keeper with critical roles in cellular metabolism.Xiang Xu Guangjin Ding Caizhi Liu Yuhan Ding Xiaoxin Chen Xiaoli Huang Chen-Song Zhang Shanxin Lu Yunpeng Zhang Yuanyong Huang Zhaosu Chen Wei Wei Lujian Liao Shu-Hai Lin Jingya Li Wei Liu Jiwen Li Sheng-Cai Lin Xinran Ma Jiemin Wong 2022Cell Research2022,32,1:3

8Numerical investigation of plane Couette flow with weak spanwise rotation显示文摘Direct numerical simulation of rotating plane Couette flow(RPCF) at Re_w= 1300 and Ro = 0.02 was performed with different mesh resolutions and different sizes of computation domain. Our results showed that a grid resolution in wall units with ?x^+=8.51, ?z^+= 4.26, ?y^+|_(min)= 0.0873 and ?y^+|_(max)= 3.89 is fine enough to simulate the problem at the present parameters. The streamwise length Lxand spanwise length Lzof the computational box have different impacts on the flow statistics, where the statistics were converged if Lxis longer than 8πh, while no converged results were obtained for different Lz. More importantly,our results with very long simulation time showed that a state transition would happen if L_x≥ 8πh, from a state with four pairs of roll cells to a state with three pairs of roll cells with L_z= 6πh. 14The conservation patterns of grassland ecosystem in response to the forage-livestock balance in North China显示文摘Being a key ecological security barrier and production base for grassland animal husbandry in China,the balance between grassland forage supply and livestock-carrying pressure in North China directly affects grassland degradation and restoration,thereby impacting grassland ecosystem services.This paper analyzes the spatiotemporal variation in grassland vegetation coverage,forage supply,and the balance between grassland forage supply and livestock-carrying pressure from 2000 to 2015 in North China.We then discuss the spatial pattern of grassland ecological conservation under the impacts of grassland degradation and restoration,and livestock-carrying pressure.Over the last 16 years,the total grassland area in North China decreased by about 16,000 km^(2),with vegetation coverage degraded by 6.7%of the grasslands but significantly restored by another 5.4%of grasslands.The provisioning of forage by natural grassland mainly increased over time,with an annual growth rate of approximately 0.3 kg/ha,but livestock-carrying pressure also increased continuously.The livestock-carrying pressure index without any supplementary feeding reached as high as 3.8.Apart from the potential livestock-carrying capacity in northeastern Inner Mongolia and the central Tibetan Plateau,most regions in North China are currently overloaded.Considering the actual supplementary feeding during the cold season,the livestock-carrying pressure index is about 3.1,with the livestock-carrying pressure mitigated in central and eastern Inner Mongolia.Assuming full supplementary feeding in the cold season,livestock-carrying pressure index will fall to 1.9,with the livestock-carrying pressure alleviated significantly in Inner Mongolia and on the Tibetan Plateau.Finally,we propose different conservation and development strategies to balance grassland ecological conservation and animal husbandry production in different regions of protected areas,pastoral areas,farming-pastoral ecotone,and farming areas,according to the grassland ecological protection patterns.HUANG Lin NING Jia ZHU Ping ZHENG Yuhan ZHAI Jun 2021Journal of Geographical Sciences2021,31,4:1

16Measurement errors on sediment concentration from traditional runoff collection tanks and its correction possibility显示文摘Runoff plots are widely used worldwide to monitor water and soil losses.Sediment concentration in runoff collection tank is measured by stirring-sampling procedure,but this method may produce high measurement error due to the uneven mixing of collected sediments with water and soil particle deposition.This study aimed to identify the relationship between actual and measured sediment concentrations,so as to estimate the systematic error of sediment concentration measurement from runoff collection tank by traditional stirring-sampling procedure and the possibility to eliminate it.Four major soils including black soil,silt loess,clay loess,and purple soil in China were used to determine the correlation between the measured and designed sediment concentrations in laboratory.Tested sediment concentration was 1,2,5,8,10,20,50,80,100,200,500,800,and 1000 kg/m^(3),and total sediment-laden water volume was 50 L and 100 L.Five samples were collected successively from collection tank for each treatment and their sediment concentrations were measured by conventional oven-drying method.The results showed that all the measured sediment concentration values were smaller than the designed ones,but both the measured and designed values were linearly correlated significantly with determination coefficients greater than 0.8,generally.In the whole tested concentration range,the systematical error was-0.19 to-319.95 kg/m^(3) and relative error was 0.30%-84.5% for the 4 tested soils and 2 total sediment-laden water volumes.These results indicated a necessity and possibility to correct conventional sediment concentration measurement value.The result is usable to assess and correct the measurement error of sediment concentrations from traditional runoff plot.Yuhan Huang Hui Zhao Fahu Li Pujin Yuan Wei Wang Guanghui Zhang 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,3:1
17The vanadium isotopic composition of L ordinary chondrites显示文摘Stable isotopic data of meteorites are critical for understanding the evolution of terrestrial planets. In this study, we report high-precision vanadium(V) isotopic compositions of 11 unequilibrated and equilibrated L chondrites. Our samples show an average δ^(51)V of-1.25‰± 0.38‰(2SD, n=11), which is ~0.5‰ lighter than that of the bulk silicate Earth constrained by mantle peridotites. Isotopic fractionation in type 3 ordinary chondrites vary from-1.76‰ to-1.29‰, whereas the d^(51)V of equilibrated chondrites vary from-1.37‰ to-1.08‰. δ^(51)V of L chondrites do not correlate with thermal metamorphism, shock stage, or weathering degree.Future studies are required to explore the reason for V isotope variation in the solar system.Yongli Xue Chun-hui Li Yuhan Qi Chuantong Zhang Bingkui Miao Fang Huang 2018Acta Geochimica2018,37,4:1
18Anthropogenic monoterpenes aggravating ozone pollution显示文摘Monoterpenes have been known to have a critical influence on air quality and climate change through their impact on the formation of fine particles.Here we present field evidence that monoterpene oxidations largely enhanced local ozone production in a regional site in eastern China.The observed monoterpene was most likely from biomass burning rather than biogenic emissions,as indicated by the high correlation with CO at night-time,and the observed ratio of these two species was consistent with previously determined values from biomass burning experiments.Fast monoterpene oxidations were determined experimentally based on direct radical measurements,leading to a daily ozone enhancement of 4-18 parts per billion by volume(ppb),which was 6%-16%of the total ozone production,depending on the speciation of monoterpenes.It demonstrates that the previously overlo oked anthropogenic monoterpenes make an important contribution to 0_(3) production in eastern China.The role could possibly be important at similar locations across China and other parts of the world that are characterized by massive emissions,especially where there are high NO_(x) levels.Our results highlight that anthropogenic monoterpenes should be taken into account when proceeding with the coordinated mitigation of O_(3) and particulate matter pollution.Haichao Wang Xuefei Ma Zhaofeng Tan Hongli Wang Xiaorui Chen Shiyi Chen Yaqin Gao Ying Liu Yuhan Liu Xinping Yang Bin Yuan Limin Zeng Cheng Huang Keding Lu Yuanhang Zhang 2022National Science Review2022,9,9:1

20The Development Trends and Research Fronts in Orbital Angular Momentum Technology:A Bibliometric Analysis显示文摘Orbital angular momentum(OAM)technology,refers to Laguerre-Gaussian(LG)beams,twisted beams,vector/vortex beams,acoustic vortex beams and fractional vortex beams.It is an emerging and promising technology to improve the communication capacity,spectral efficiency,and anti-jamming capability due to its helical phase fronts and infinite orthogonal states.Although the OAM research began in the 1990s,the developing trends,current status,issues and characteristics through a systematic observation have not yet been performed.This paper presents a knowledge-based evolution of OAM research published in the Web of Science(WoS)from 2011 to 2021 using bibliometric analysis in Citepspace.The results demonstrate that the bandwidth,efficiency,gain,divergence,phase quantization,bulky and complex feeding structures,misalignment,distortion,interferences atmospheric turbulence and diffraction were the key issues found in the OAM technology.The main research hotspots and categories,influential authors,leading journals,best institutions of OAM show a strong bias in favor of their functions and technology developments.The research on OAM was mainly performed by the counties that have developed the 5G and now moving towards 6G communications like China,USA and South Korea.This study would serve as an inclusive guide on the future research trends and status especially for the OAM researchers.Saleemullah Memon Xiuping Li Kamran Ali Memon Yuhan Huang Junaid Ahmed Uqaili Muhammad Ishfaq 2023China Communications2023,20,2:0
