| 2 | Defect-density control of platinum-based nanoframes with high-index facets for enhanced electrochemical properties显示文摘Structure-engineered platinum-based nanoframes(NFs)at the atomic level can effectively improve the catalytic performance for fuel cells and other heterogeneous catalytic fields.We report herein,a microwave-assisted wet-chemical method for the preparation of platinum-copper-cobalt NFs with tunable defect density and architecture,which exhibit enhanced activity and durability towards the electro-oxidation reactions of methanol(MOR)and formic acid(FAOR).By altering the reduction/capping agents and thus the nucleation/growth kinetics,trimetallic platinum-copper-cobalt hexapod NFs with different density high-index facets are achieved.Especially,the rough hexapod nanoframes(rh-NFs)exhibit excellent specific activities towards MOR and FAOR,7.25 and 5.20 times higher than those of benchmark Pt/C,respectively,along with prolonged durability.The excellent activities of the rh-NFs are assigned to a synergistic effect,including high density of defects and high-index facets,suitable d-band center,and open-framework structure.This synergistic working mechanism opens up a new way for enhancing their electrocatalytic performances by increasing defect density and high-index facets in open-framework platinum-based NFs. | Shaohan Yang Shuna Li Lianghao Song Yipin Lv Zhongyao Duan Chunsheng Li Raphael Francesco Praeg Daowei Gao Guozhu Chen | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,11: | 3 |
| 3 | Biomimetic mineralized hybrid scaffolds with antimicrobial peptides显示文摘Infection in hard tissue regeneration is a clinically-relevant challenge.Development of scaffolds with dual function for promoting bone/dental tissue growth and preventing bacterial infections is a critical need in the field.Here we fabricated hybrid scaffolds by intrafibrillar-mineralization of collagen using a biomimetic process and subsequently coating the scaffold with an antimicrobial designer peptide with cationic and amphipathic properties.The highly hydrophilic mineralized collagen scaffolds provided an ideal substrate to form a dense and stable coating of the antimicrobial peptides.The amount of hydroxyapatite in the mineralized fibers modulated the rheological behavior of the scaffolds with no influence on the amount of recruited peptides and the resulting increase in hydrophobicity.The developed scaffolds were potent by contact killing of Gram-negative Escherichia coli and Gram-positive Streptococcus gordonii as well as cytocompatible to human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells.The process of scaffold fabrication is versatile and can be used to control mineral load and/or intrafibrillar-mineralized scaffolds made of other biopolymers. | Zhou Ye Xiao Zhu Isha Mutreja Sunil Kumar Bod Nicholas G.Fischer Anqi Zhang Christine Lui Yipin Qi Conrado Aparicio | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 2 |

| 6 | Pitting corrosion behavior of Cu-P-RE weathering steels显示文摘The weathering steels are prone to pitting corrosion in an environment containing chloride ions.The pitting behavior of Cu-P-RE weathering steels and its effect on the corrosion resistance of steels were investigated by multifarious analytical techniques,such as field emission-scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy(SKPFM),electrochemical workstation and a series of immersion tests.The results show that the original stripshaped MnS inclusions and Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions with sharp angles are modified into the fine spherical rare earth(RE)inclusions with small average size,which are mainly RE oxysulfides after adding appropriate amount of mischmetal(48.9 wt%Ce-42 wt%La-5 wt%Nd-Fe)into the Cu-P weathering steel.In the environment containing Cl^(-),the pitting corrosion in RE weathering steel is induced by the preferential dissolution of RE inclusions in that the RE inclusions have a more negative potential than steel matrix at the initial corrosion stage.With the increase of corrosion time,the driving force of pitting expansion is weakened as a re sult of the continuous dissolution of RE inclusions,which makes the pitting tend to propagate horizontally around the RE inclusions.Once the RE inclusions completely dissolve,the open corrosion pits with shallow depth are formed in steel.The dispersed pitting pits with small size and shallow depth induced by RE inclusions are conducive to the formation of uniform and dense corrosion products layer on the steel surface,which reveals that the addition of RE can improve the corrosion resistance of weathering steels. | Lijie Yue Yeshu Meng Jinsheng Han Kun Xie Yipin Sun Yunliang Tan | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,2: | 1 |
