| 1 | Antibacterial Effects of Chinese Herbal Medicines against Streptococcus iniae in Oreochromis niloticus显示文摘In this study,the antibacterial effects of Chinese herbal medicines against Streptococcus iniae in Oreochromis niloticus were investigated by drug sensitivity test. The results indicated that Streptococcus iniae was extremely sensitive to Galla Chinensis,Fructus Hippophae and Fructus Mume,highly sensitive to Sappan Lignum,Pericarpium Granati,Folium Eucalypti and Radix Scutellariae,moderately sensitive to Rhizoma Coptidis,Radix et Rhizoma Rhei,Flos Caryophyllata,Cortex phellodendri and Rabdosia serra( Maxim.) Hara,and insensitive to Herba Portulacae,Herba Houttuyniae,Polygonum hydropiper L.,Herba Menthae,Radix Glycyrrhizae,Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae,Herba Andrographitis and Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii. Chinese medicinal herbs which Streptococcus iniae was extremely sensitive or moderately sensitive to were selected and prepared into three Chinese herbal medicine formulae for medicated bath of Oreochromis niloticus infected artificially with Streptococcus iniae. The results showed that medicated bath elicited therapeutic effects on infected Oreochromis niloticus. | 3 | Effect of three lactobacilli with strainspecific activities on the growth performance, faecal microbiota and ileum mucosa proteomics of piglets显示文摘Background: The beneficial effects of Lactobacillus probiotics in animal production are often strain-related.Different strains from the same species may exert different weight-gain effect on hosts in vivo. Most lactobacilli are selected based on their in vitro activities, and their metabolism and regulation on the intestine based on strainrelated characters are largely unexplored. The objective of the present study was to study the in vivo effects of the three lactobacilli on growth performance and to compare the differential effects of the strains on the faecal microbiota and ileum mucosa proteomics of piglets.Methods: Three hundred and sixty piglets were assigned to one of four treatments, which included an antibioticstreated control and three experimental groups supplemented with the three lactobacilli, L. salivarius G1-1, L. reuteri G8-5 and L. reuteri G22-2, respectively. Piglets were weighed and the feed intake was recorded to compare the growth performance. The faecal lactobacilli and coliform was quantified using quantitative PCR and the faecal microbiota was profiled by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE). The proteomic approach was applied to compare the differential expression of proteins in the ileum mucosa.Results: No statistical difference was found among the three Lactobacillus-treated groups in animal growth performance compared with the antibiotics-treated group(P > 0.05). Supplementation of lactobacilli in diets significantly increased the relative 16 S rRNA gene copies of Lactobacillus genus on both d 14 and d 28(P < 0.05).,and the bacterial community profiles based on DGGE from the lactobacilli-treated groups were distinctly different from the antibiotics-treated group(P < 0.05). The ileum mucosa of piglets responded to all Lactobacillus supplementation by producing more newly expressed proteins and the identified proteins were all associated with the functions beneficial for stabilization of cell structure. Besides, some other up-regulated and down-regulated proteins in different Lactobacillus-treated groups showed the expression of proteins were partly strain-related.Conclusions: All the three lactobacilli in this study show comparable effects to antibiotics on piglets growth performance. The three lactobacilli were found able to modify intestinal microbiota and mucosa proteomics. | 7 | Magnesium ion-implantation-based gallium nitride p-i-n photodiode for visible-blind ultraviolet detection显示文摘In this work, a GaN p-i-n diode based on Mg ion implantation for visible-blind UV detection is demonstrated.With an optimized implantation and annealing process, a p-GaN layer and corresponding GaN p-i-n photodiode are achieved via Mg implantation. As revealed in the UV detection characterizations, these diodes exhibit a sharp wavelength cutoff at 365 nm, high UV/visible rejection ratio of 1.2 × 10~4, and high photoresponsivity of 0.35 A/W, and are proved to be comparable with commercially available GaN p-n photodiodes. Additionally, a localized states-related gain mechanism is systematically investigated, and a relevant physics model of electricfield-assisted photocarrier hopping is proposed. | 8 | DDG1 and G Protein α Subunit RGA1 Interaction Regulates Plant Height and Senescence in Rice(Oryza sativa)显示文摘Many studies have already shown that dwarfism and moderate delayed leaf senescence positively impact rice yield,but the underlying molecular mechanism of dwarfism and leaf senescence remains largely unknown.Here,using map-based cloning,we identified an allele of DEP2,DDG1,which controls plant height and leaf senescence in rice.The ddg1 mutant displayed dwarfism,short panicles,and delayed leaf senescence.Compared with the wild-type,ddg1 was insensitive to exogenous gibberellins(GA)and brassinolide(BR).DDG1 is expressed in various organs,especially in stems and panicles.Yeast two-hybrid assay,bimolecular fluorescent complementation and luciferase complementation image assay showed that DDG1 interacts with theα-subunit of the heterotrimeric G protein.Disruption of RGA1 resulted in dwarfism,short panicles,and darker-green leaves.Furthermore,we found that ddg1 and the RGA1 mutant was more sensitive to salt treatment,suggesting that DDG1 and RGA1 are involved in regulating salt stress response in rice.Our results show that DDG1/DEP2 regulates plant height and leaf senescence through interacting with RGA1. | Xi Liu Chuxuan Zhao Di Wang Gen Pan Xiaonan Ji Su Gao Tanxiao Du Yating Feng Wenjing Chen | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,7: | 1 |

| 10 | Maternal Bisphenol B Exposure and Mammary Gland Development of Offspring:A Time-Series Analysis显示文摘Breast cancer incidence has increased and become the world’s most prevalent cancer,which is related to abnormal development of mammary glands and thought to be influenced by environment endocrine disruptors such as bisphenol A(BPA).However,whether its substitution,bisphenol B(BPB),has similar effects remains a concern.In the present study,a maternal exposure model of ICR mice combined time-series RNA-seq analysis was established to explore the underlying correlation among maternal BPB exposure(300μg/kg body weight),mammary gland development,and long-term breast health in offspring.The results showed that BPB exposure disrupted hormonal homeostasis of the female offspring but did not affect the branch development of mammary glands in a time-dependent manner.However,at postnatal day 90(PND90),BPB exposure resulted in duct dilatation,lobular hyperplasia,and inflammatory cell infiltration and increased the number of hormone receptor-expressing(HR+)luminal cells in offspring.Further,the differentially expressed genes in time-series analysis of RNA-seq for mammary glands of the female offspring were enriched in the morphogenesis of branching structures,branching epithelium,and branching morphogenesis of epithelial tubes,which are always considered gland development.Interestingly,the results of RNA-seq also suggested that progesterone receptor(Pgr)mRNA expression in the BPB group was elevated at PND90,and breast cancer related genes such as GATA binding protein 3(Gata3)and epidermal growth factor receptor(Egfr)were also altered.These findings suggested that maternal BPB exposure did not accelerate mammary gland development or lead to obvious morphological anomalies of offspring,but it induced pathological changes and altered cancer related gene expression in adult offspring breast. | Xiaotong Ji Peiyun Jiang Yating Li Lihong Su Huifeng Yue Nan Sang | 2023 | Environment & Health2023,1,4: | 0 |
