1Integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses of a wax deficient citrus mutant exhibiting jasmonic acid-mediated defense against fungal pathogens显示文摘Naturally,resistant crop germplasms are important resources for managing the issues of agricultural product safety and environment deterioration.We found a spontaneous mutant of‘Newhall’navel orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck)(MT)with broad-spectrum protections against fungal pathogens in the orchard,postharvest-storage,and artificial inoculation conditions.To understand the defense mechanism of MT fruit,we constructed a genome-scale metabolic network that integrated metabolome and transcriptome datasets.The coordinated transcriptomic and metabolic data were enriched in two sub-networks,showing the decrease in very long chain fatty acid(by 41.53%)and cuticular wax synthesis(by 81.34%),and increase in the synthesis of jasmonic acid(JA)(by 95.23%)and JA-induced metabolites such as 5-dimethylnobietin(by 28.37%)in MT.Furthermore,cytological and biochemical analyses confirmed that the response to fungal infection in MT was independent of wax deficiency and was correlated with the levels of jasmonates,and the expression of plant defensin gene PDF1.2.Results of exogenous application of MeJA and JA inhibitors such as propyl gallate proved that JA-mediated defense contributes to the strong tolerance against pathogens in MT.Our results indicated that jasmonate biosynthesis and signaling are stimulated by the fatty acid redirection of MT,and participate in the tolerance of pathogenic fungi.Yizhong He Jingwen Han Runsheng Liu Yuduan Ding Jinqiu Wang Li Sun Xiaoming Yang Yunliu Zeng Weiwei Wen Juan Xu Hongming Zhang Xiang Yan Zhaoxing Chen Zuliang Gu Hong Chen Huanqing Tang Xiuxin Deng Yunjiang Cheng 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:8
2A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 3DISTRIBUTED MONITORING SYSTEM RELIABILITY ESTIMATION WITH CONSIDERATION OF STATISTICAL UNCERTAINTY显示文摘Taking into account the whole system structure and the component reliability estimation uncertainty, a system reliability estimation method based on probability and statistical theory for distributed monitoring systems is presented. The variance and confidence intervals of the system reliability estimation are obtained by expressing system reliability as a linear sum of products of higher order moments of component reliability estimates when the number of component or system survivals obeys binomial distribution. The eigenfunction of binomial distribution is used to determine the moments of component reliability estimates, and a symbolic matrix which can facilitate the search of explicit system reliability estimates is proposed. 8AlphaFold2 and its applications in the fields of biology and medicine显示文摘AlphaFold2(AF2)is an artificial intelligence(AI)system developed by DeepMind that can predict three-dimensional(3D)structures of proteins from amino acid sequences with atomic-level accuracy.Protein structure prediction is one of the most challenging problems in computational biology and chemistry,and has puzzled scientists for 50 years.The advent of AF2 presents an unprecedented progress in protein structure prediction and has attracted much attention.Subsequent release of structures of more than 200 million proteins predicted by AF2 further aroused great enthusiasm in the science community,especially in the fields of biology and medicine.AF2 is thought to have a significant impact on structural biology and research areas that need protein structure information,such as drug discovery,protein design,prediction of protein function,et al.Though the time is not long since AF2 was developed,there are already quite a few application studies of AF2 in the fields of biology and medicine,with many of them having preliminarily proved the potential of AF2.To better understand AF2 and promote its applications,we will in this article summarize the principle and system architecture of AF2 as well as the recipe of its success,and particularly focus on reviewing its applications in the fields of biology and medicine.Limitations of current AF2 prediction will also be discussed.Zhenyu Yang Xiaoxi Zeng Yi Zhao Runsheng Chen 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:1

12CloudLCA: finding the lowest common ancestor in metagenome analysis using cloud computing显示文摘Estimating taxonomic content constitutes a key problem in metagenomic sequencing data analysis.However,extracting such content from high-throughput data of next-generation sequencing is very time-consuming with the currently available software.Here,we present CloudLCA,a parallel LCA algorithm that significantly improves the efficiency of determining taxonomic composition in metagenomic data analysis.Results show that CloudLCA(1)has a running time nearly linear with the increase of dataset magnitude,(2)displays linear speedup as the number of processors grows,especially for large datasets,and(3)reaches a speed of nearly 215 million reads each minute on a cluster with ten thin nodes.In comparison with MEGAN,a well-known metagenome analyzer,the speed of CloudLCA is up to 5 more times faster,and its peak memory usage is approximately 18.5%that of MEGAN,running on a fat node.CloudLCA can be run on one multiprocessor node or a cluster.It is expected to be part of MEGAN to accelerate analyzing reads,with the same output generated as MEGAN,which can be import into MEGAN in a direct way to finish the following analysis.Moreover,CloudLCA is a universal solution for finding the lowest common ancestor,and it can be applied in other fields requiring an LCA algorithm.Guoguang Zhao Dechao Bu Changning Liu Jing Li Jian Yang Zhiyong Liu Yi Zhao Runsheng Chen 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,2:1
13Pubertal exposure to bisphenol A affects the reproduction of male mice and sex ratio of offspring显示文摘Objective To study the effects of pubertal exposure to bisphenol A(BPA)on the reproduction of male mice in adulthood and subsequent generation mice.Methods Male mice aged 21 d were exposed to BPA at a dose of 50 mg/kg per day for 7 d by intraperitoneal injection.Sperm count,sperm deformity rate and testis histology were evaluated 35 d after exposure.Male fertility index and newborns were further observed by mating with the normal female mice.Results The epididymal sperm number was decreased by 20.6%in BPA exposure group compared with the control(P<0.01).Sperm deformity rate in BPA group was increased by 9.65%compared with the control(P<0.05).Testis seminiferous tubules were abnormal with sloughing of germ cells;BPA exposure had no significant effects on the fertility of male mice in adulthood;sex ratio of male to female offspring was increased.Conclusion Pubertal exposure to BPA disrupted spermatogenesis in adult mice,and the proportion of male offspring was increased compared with the control.Yu-hua LI Fei DUAN Fen YANG Xiao-yu ZHOU Hong-jie PAN Yang LI Runsheng LI 2015Journal of Reproduction and Contraception2015,26,1:1

16Triamcinolone Intravitreal Injection and Intraocular Pressure in Macular Edema Associated with Retinal Vein Occlusion显示文摘Purpose:To study the risk factors of increased intraocular pressure (IOP) response to triamcinolone acetonide intravitreal (IVTA) injection in eyes with macular edema associated with retinal vein occlusion. Methods:Eighty-nine eyes with macular edema associated with retinal vein occlusion first received periocular injection of 40 mg triamcinolone acetonide (TA) and were followed for one month. According to the diversity of IOP after periocular TA (PTA) injection, they were divided into the elevation IOP group (group A, 26 eyes) and the normal IOP group (group B,63 eyes).They then received 4 mg TA intravitreal injection.IOP measurements were recorded after PTA and IVTA injections, and were followed for six months. Results: Both PTA and IVTA injections caused a rise in IOP, but it was higher in the IVTA injection (40.45%) than in the PTA injection (29.21%). The mean rise in IOP was more significant in eyes with IVTA injection (28.08 ± 8.24 mmHg) than in eyes with PTA injection (20.87 ± 4.07 mmHg). Patients with an elevation IOP above 6 mmHg after PTA injection had a 73.08% chance of developing a pressure of 24 mmHg or higher,whereas only 12.70% of those with an elevation IOP below 6 mmHg after PTA injection experienced pressure elevation. Conclusion:IOP response to PTA injection is a good way to judge IOP response to IVTA. 17Adaptive Fault-Tolerant Control During the Mode Switching for Electric Vehicle Dual-Mode Coupling Drive System显示文摘As a new drive system for electric vehicles,the dual-mode coupling drive system can automatically switch between centralized and distributed drive modes and realize two-speed gear shifting.Because the actuator’s displacement signal affects the mode-switching control,when failure occurs at the angle-displacement sensor,the mode-shifting quality is likely to drop greatly,even possibly leading to shift failure.To address the angle-displacement sensor failure and improve the reliability of the shift control,an adaptive fault-tolerant control method is proposed and verified.First,the effect of the output signal of the angle-displacement sensor in the mode-switching control process is analyzed.Then,an adaptive mode-switching fault-tolerant control method is designed based on the Kalman filter and fuzzy theory.Finally,the feasibility of the control effect is verified through simulations and vehicle experiments.The results indicate that the proposed method can effectively eliminate the signal noise of the angle-displacement sensor and successfully switch the modes when the sensor fails.It provides a reference for ensuring the working quality of similar electric drive systems under sensor failures.Bingnan Qi Liuquan Yang Lipeng Zhang Runsheng Zhang 2021Automotive Innovation2021,4,1:0

19Characterization of ZnO Based Varistor Derived from Nano ZnO Powders and Ultrafine Dopants显示文摘Nanosized ZnO powders were prepared with a two-step precipitation method. The average size of ZnO particles was about 80 nm and their size distribution was narrow. Combining with ultrafine additive powders, ZnO base varistor was produced via an oxide mixing route. ZnO varistor derived from normal reagent grade starting materials was investigated for comparison purpose. Outstanding microstructure of the ZnO varistor derived from nanosize ZnO powders and ultrafine dopants was obtained: uniform distribution of fine ZnO grains (less than 3 microns), grain boundary and the dopant position. Higher varistor voltage (U=492 V/mm) and nonlinear coefficient (α=56.2) as well as lower leakage current (IL=1.5μA) were achieved. The better electrical properties were attributed to the uniform microstructure, which in turn led to stable and uniform potential barriers.
