Clinicopathological features and survival analysis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms: a retrospective study in a single center of China显示文摘Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, survival and prognostic factors for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms(GEP-NENs) in a Chinese population. Methods: We investigated 154 consecutive patients(88 males, 66 females; median age 56 years, age range 9-86 years) diagnosed with GEP-NENs between 2001 and 2013 at The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. Demographic, clinical and pathological variables and survival data were retrieved. Results: The pancreas was the most common site of involvement(63/154, 40.9%). Tumor size varied from 0.3 to 16.0 cm(median, 1.2 cm). The patients were followed up for a median period of 22 months(range, 1-157 months). The estimated 3- and 5-year overall survival(OS) rates for all patients were 84.0% and 81.9%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that larger tumor size, lymphatic metastases and distant metastases were significant predictors for poor survival outcome. Conclusions: Our data provide further information on the clinicopathological features of GEP-NENs in China. Additionally, we identified tumor size, lymphatic metastases and distant metastases as independent prognostic factors for long-term survival.Xuelong Jiao Yujun Li Hongyan Wang Shanglong Liu Dongfeng Zhang Yanbing Zhou 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,3:10
Erucic acid from Isatis indigotica Fort. suppresses influenza A virus replication and inflammation in vitro and in vivo through modulation of NF-kB and p38 MAPK pathway显示文摘Isatis indigotica Fort.(Ban-Lan-Gen)is an herbal medicine prescribed for influenza treatment. However, its active components and mode of action remain mostly unknown. In the present study, erucic acid was isolated from Isatis indigotica Fort.,and subsequently its underlying mechanism against influenza A virus(IAV)infection was investigated in vitro and in vivo. Our results demonstrated that erucic acid exhibited broad-spectrum antiviral activity against IAV resulting from reduction of viral polymerase transcription activity.Erucic acid was found to exert inhibitory effects on IAV or viral(v)RNA-induced pro-inflam-matory mediators as well as interferons(IFNs).The molecular mechanism by which erucic acid with antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties was attributed to inactivation of NF-kB and p38 MAPK signaling.Furthermore, the NF-kB and p38 MAPK inhibitory effect of erucic acid led to diminishing the transcriptional activity of interferon-stimulated gene factor 3(ISGF-3),and thereby reducing IAV-triggered pro-inflammatory response amplification in IFN-β-sensitized cells.Additionally,IAV-or vRNA-triggered apoptosis of alveolar epithelial A549 cells was prevented by erucic acid.In vivo, erucic acid administration consistently displayed decreased lung viral load and viral antigens expression.Meanwhile, erucic acid markedly reduced CD8+cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL)recruitment,pro-apoptotic signaling, hyperactivity of multiple signaling pathways, and exacerbated immune inflammation in the lung, which resulted in decreased lung injury and mortality in mice with a mouse-adapted A/FM/1/47-MA(H1N1)strain infection. Our findings provided a mechanistic basis for the action of erucic acid against IAV-mediated inflammation and injury, suggesting that erucic acid may have a therapeutic potential in the treatment of influenza.Xiaoli Liang Yuan Huang Xiping Pan Yanbing Hao Xiaowei Chen Haiming Jiang Jing Li Beixian Zhou Zifeng Yang 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,2:10
An option for green and sustainable future: Electrochemical conversion of ammonia into nitrogen显示文摘Green and sustainable options are needed to ease the current energy and environmental crisis, and alleviate the greenhouse effect and energy shortage. As an alternative carbon–neutral synthetic fuel, ammonia shows great potential due to its high energy density, non-toxic by-products, and mature related infrastructures. However, related practical applications have been severely hampered on ammoniaoxidation due to the high cost of catalysts and immature energy utilization systems. Here, we comprehensively summarized the efforts which have been made in recent years with the aim of providing a deep sight into the development and deficiencies in this territory and trying to establish a simple framework of basic knowledge for researchers. The exploration of mechanism is discussed first and then the relevant catalysts studied in recent years are summarized. Besides, the progress of direct ammonia fuel cells(DAFCs) is also presented and the challenges as well as perspectives on future developments of electrocatalysts for ammonia electro-oxidation and its practical application are provided at the end.Bo Zhou Nana Zhang Yujie Wu Weijun Yang Yanbing Lu Yanyong Wang Shuangyin Wang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,9:5
A 5'-flanking region polymorphism in toll-like receptor 4 is associated with gastric cancer in a Chinese population显示文摘Objective:Inflammation induced by H.pylori colonization in the stomach is related to the development of gastric cancer and the genetic variations of the genes involved in the immune responses modify the host response to the infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether polymorphisms in the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) gene, a key regulator of both innate and adaptive immunity, were related to the susceptibility togastric cancer in a Chinese population. Methods: Two variations in the 5'-flanking region of TLR4 (rs1927914 T>C and rs10759932 T>C) were genotyped by using the PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assay in a case-control study of 1,053 incident gastric cancer cases and 1,100 cancer-free controls in a Chinese population. Results: Individuals carrying the C allele of rs10759932 had a significantly reduced risk of gastric cancer (adjusted OR=0.81; 95%CI=0.67-0.96), compared with the wild-type homozygote (TT), and the protective effect was not significantly different among subgroups stratified by age, sex, smoking, drinking and H.pylori infection status (P for heterogeneity >0.05). No significant association was observed between rs1927914 and gastric cancer risk in this study population. Conclusion: The T to C allele substitution of rs10759932 may play a protective role in gastric carcinogenesis in a Chinese population. Large studies with different ethnic populations are warranted to confirm these findings.Hua Huang Juan Wu Guangfu Jin Hanze Zhang Yanbing Ding Zhaolai Hua Yan Zhou Yan Xue Yan Lu Zhibin Hu Yaochu Xu Hongbing Shen 2010The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,2:5
A precision medicine approach to managing 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia显示文摘In December 2019,several patients with pneumonia of an unknown cause were detected in Wuhan,China. On 7 January 2020,the causal organism was identified as a new coronavirus, later named as the 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV).Genome sequencing found the genetic sequence of 2019-nCoV homologous to that of severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus. As of 29 January 2020,the virus had been diagnosed in more than 7000 patients in China and 77 patients in other countries. It is reported that both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with 2019-nCoV can play a role in disease transmission via airborne and contact. This finding has caused a great concern about the prevention of illness spread. The clinical features of the infection are not specific and are often indistinguishable from those of other respiratory infections, making it difficult to diagnose.Given that the virus has a strong ability to spread between individuals,it is of top priority to identify potential or suspected patients as soon as possible—or the virus may cause a serious pandemic. Therefore,a precision medicine approach to managing this disease is urgently needed for detecting and controlling the spread of the virus. In this article,we present such an approach to managing 2019-nCoV-related pneumonia based on the unique traits of the virus recently revealed and on our experience with coronaviruses at West China Hospital in Chengdu,China.Minjin Wang Yanbing Zhou Zhiyong Zong Zongan Liang Yu Cao Hong Tang Bin Song Zixing Huang Yan Kang Ping Feng Binwu Ying Weimin Li 2020Precision Clinical Medicine2020,3,1:3
Research on the Error Averaging Effect in A Rolling Guide Pair显示文摘By studying the e ects of geometric precision on kinematic accuracy, an error mapping model has been established, based on the hypothesis that a motion pair and its installation surface are rigid. However, when using this assumption, there is a significant error induced in high-precision computer numerical control(CNC) machine tools as compared with reality. One of the most important reasons for this error is failing to consider the error averaging e ect of motion pair elements. Therefore, this work examines a high-precision horizontal machining center as its research object, and analyzes the error averaging mechanism of a rolling guide pair under a deformation of the rolling elements. The carriage bearing forces caused by guideway straightness errors are obtained by constructing a geometric error model of a single carriage. The relationship between guideway straightness errors and carriage bearing forces is described by a transfer function in the spatial frequency domain, and its characteristics are analyzed. It quantifies the so-called error averaging e ect of the rolling guide system and, on this basis, a static model for four carriages is established to reflect the error averaging e ect of the rolling guide pair on the position and orientation errors of the motion pair. In addition, it is found that the wavelengths and phase di erences of guideway errors a ect this error averaging mechanism, but the amplitude and preload have little influence thereon. The experiment result shows that the kinematic straightness errors in the x-and y-directions were approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the guideway straightness errors in the corresponding directions. The results can be used to guide the precision design and assembly of machine tools.Yanbing Ni Haiyang Zhou Cuiyan Shao Jinhe Li 2019Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,4:2
Textbook Outcome as a measure of surgical quality assessment and prognosis in gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma:A large multicenter sample analysis显示文摘Objective:Quality assurance is crucial for oncological surgical treatment assessment. For rare diseases, singlequality indicators are not enough. We aim to develop a comprehensive and reproducible measurement, called the'Textbook Outcome'(TO),to assess the quality of surgical treatment and prognosis of gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma(G-NEC)patients.Methods:Data from patients with primary diagnosed G-NEC included in 24 high-volume Chinese hospitals from October 2005 to September 2018 were analyzed.TO included receiving a curative resection,≥15 lymph nodes examined,no severe postoperative complications, hospital stay≤21 d,and no hospital readmission≤30 d after discharge.Hospital variation in TO was analyzed using a case mix-adjusted funnel plot.Prognostic factors of survival and risk factors for non-Textbook Outcome(non-TO)were analyzed using Cox and logistic models, respectively. Results:TO was achieved in 56.6%of 860 G-NEC patients.TO patients had better overall survival(OS),disease-free survival(DFS),and recurrence-free survival(RFS)than non-TO patients(P<0.05).Moreover,TO patients accounted for 60.3%of patients without recurrence.Multivariate Cox analysis revealed non-TO as an independent risk factor for OS,DFS,and RFS of G-NEC patients(P<0.05).Increasing TO rates were associated with improved OS for G-NEC patients, but not hospital volume.Multivariate logistic regression revealed that nonlower tumors, open surgery,and>200 mL blood loss were independent risk factors for non-TO patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:TO is strongly associated with multicenter surgical quality and prognosis for G-NEC patients.Factors predicting non-TO are identified, which may help guide strategies to optimize G-NEC outcomes.Qiyue Chen Zhongliang Ning Zhiyu Liu Yanbing Zhou Qingliang He Yantao Tian Hankun Hao Wei Lin Lixin Jiang Gang Zhao Ping Li Chaohui Zheng Changming Huang on behalf of the Study Group for Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4:2
Synthesis of LiFePO_4 using FeSO_4·7H_2O byproduct from TiO_2 production as raw material显示文摘As the byproduct of TiO2 industrial production, impure FeSO4·7H2O was used for the synthesis of LiFePO4. With the purified solution of FeSO4·7H2O, FePO4·xH2O was prepared by a normal titration method and a controlled crystallization method, respectively. Then LiFePO4 materials were synthesized by calcining the mixture of FePO4·xH2O, Li2CO3, and glucose at 700°C for 10 h in flowing Ar. The results indicate that the elimination of FeSO4·7H2O impurities reached over 95%, and using FePO4·xH2O prepared by the controlled crystallization method, the obtained LiFePO4 material has fine and sphere-like particles. The material delivers a higher initial discharge specific capacity of 149 mAh·g-1 at a current density of 0.1C rate (1C=170 mA·g-1); the discharge specific capacity also maintains above 120 mAh·g1 after 100 cycles even at 2C rate. Thus, the employed processing is promising for easy control, low cost of raw material, and high electrochemical performance of the prepared material.PENG Zhongdong CAO Yanbing ZHOU Yulin HU Guorong 2009Rare Metals2009,28,6:2
Orbital ordering and fluctuations in a kagome superconductor CsV_(3)Sb_(5)显示文摘Recently,competing electronic instabilities, including superconductivity and density-wave-like order, have been discovered in vanadium-based kagome metals AV_(3)Sb_(5)(A=K,Rb,Cs)with a nontrivial band topology. This finding stimulates considerable interest to study the interplay of these competing electronic orders and possible exotic excitations in the superconducting state. Here,we performed51V and133Cs nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)measurements on a CsV_(3)Sb_(5)single crystal to clarify the nature of density-wave-like transition in these kagome superconductors.A first-order structural transition is unambiguously revealed below T_(s)~94 K by observing the sudden splitting of Knight shift in^(51)V NMR spectrum. Moreover, combined with^(133)Cs NMR spectrum, the present result confirms a three-dimensional structural modulation.By further analyzing the anisotropy of Knight shift and 1/T_(1)T at^(51)V nuclei,we proposed that the orbital order is the primary electronic order induced by the firstorder structural transition, which is supported by further analysis on electric field gradient at^(51)V nuclei. In addition, the evidence for possible orbital fluctuations is also revealed above T_(s).The present work sheds light on a rich orbital physics in kagome superconductors AV_(3)Sb_(5).DianWu Song LiXuan Zheng FangHang Yu Jian Li LinPeng Nie Min Shan Dan Zhao ShunJiao Li BaoLei Kang ZhiMian Wu YanBing Zhou KuangLv Sun Kai Liu XiGang Luo ZhenYu Wang JianJun Ying XianGang Wan Tao Wu XianHui Chen 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,4:2
