| 1 | Clinical Research on Alzheimer's Disease: Progress and Perspectives显示文摘Alzheimer's disease(AD), the most common type of dementia, is becoming a major challenge for global health and social care. However, the current understanding of AD pathogenesis is limited, and no early diagnosis and disease-modifying therapy are currently available. | 2 | Flame retardant polyamide 6 by in situ polymerization of ε-caprolactam in the presence of melamine derivatives显示文摘An improved method for preparing melamine cyanurate (MCA) based flame retardant polyamide 6 (FRPA6) materials has been proposed. This processing method, i.e., improved in situ polymerization, was used to synthesize flame retardant PA6. In situ formed MCA nanoparticles were supposed to be linked to PA6 chains in the e-caprolactam hydrolytic polymerization system to obtain star- type polymers for the first time. Through TEM photographs, it can be found that the in situ formed MCA nanoparticles with diametric size of less than 50 nm, are nanoscaled, highly uniformly dispersed in the PA6 matrix. | 4 | Bacteriophage therapy against Enterobacteriaceae显示文摘The Enterobacteriaceae are a class of gram-negative facultative anaerobic rods, which can cause a variety of diseases, such as bacteremia, septic arthritis, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections and ophthalmic infections, in humans, poultry, animals and fish. Disease caused by Enterobacteriaceae cause the deaths of millions of people every year, resulting in enormous economic loss. Drug treatment is a useful and efficient way to control Enterobacteriaceae infections. However, with the abuse of antibiotics, drug resistance has been found in growing number of Enterobacteriaceae infections and, as such, there is an urgent need to find new methods of control. Bacteriophage therapy is an efficient alternative to antibiotics as it employs a different antibacterial mechanism. | 6 | Relationship between settlements and topographical factors:An example from Sichuan Province,China显示文摘Terrain can influence the spatial distribution of settlements. Studies on the terrain characteristics of settlements can help to understand the effects of the environment on human activities. This paper provides a quantitative analysis of the relationship between settlements and topographical factors. A statistically significant sample of residential locations and ASTER GDEM V2 were used to investigate terrain traits and settlements distributions. We selected eight topographical factors and introduced a practical concept, distributive entropy, into assessing the aggregation extent of the settlements' spatial distribution. The study showed that topography varies within the study area, and distributive entropy indicates that settlements have distinctive distribution tendency in statistic approach. According to the results of this study, mountain inhabitants prefer to settle in valleys. Additionally, with distributive entropy, residential suitability was divided to three levels: suitable, normal, and unsuited. | 7 | MicroRNA-29a attenuates angiotensin-Ⅱ induced-left ventricular remodeling by inhibiting collagen,TGF-β and SMAD2/3 expression显示文摘Background Left ventricular(LV)remodeling is the most common target organ damage in hypertension.Previously,our study found that plasma microRNA-29a(miR-29a)level was associated with the LV remodeling in hypertensive patients.However,the causal relationship between miR-29a and LV remodeling remains unknown.Thus,the aim of this study was to investigate the regulation mechanism of miR-29a in LV remodeling.Methods&Results Overexpression and knockdown miR-29a mice were generated by tail-intravenous injection of miR-29a-mimic and inhibitor lentivirus for one week respectively.Then the mice were subjected to angiotensin-II(AngII)induced LV remodeling by subcutaneous AngII capsule osmotic pumping into AngII for four weeks.AngII-induced LV remodeling mice as the model group(n=9).Age-matched male SPF C57/BL6J mice(6–8 weeks old)were treated with the pumping of saline as a vehicle(n=6).In vivo,overexpression miR-29a ameliorated AngII-induced LV remodeling,while knockdown miR-29a deteriorated LV remodeling.Simultaneously,we observed that overexpression miR-29a mice inhibited but knockdown miR-29a mice increased cardiac cross-sectional area,indicating that miR-29a has an antagonistic effect on cardiac hypertrophy.Further studies found that overexpression miR-29a inhibited the content of the LV collagen including collagen I and III.Moreover,the expression of transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)and phosphorylated SMAD2/3 decreased with the down-regulation of collagen I and III in overexpression miR-29a mice.Conclusions Our finding indicates that overexpression miR-29a attenuates LV remodeling by inhibiting collagen deposition,TGF-β,and phosphorylated SMAD2/3 expression.Thus,intervention miR-29a may be a therapeutic target for attenuating LV remodeling. | Si-Jin ZHANG Cui-Juan YUN Jie LIU Si-Yu YAO Yao LI Miao WANG Chi WANG Yong-Yi BAI Hao XUE | 2020 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020,17,2: | 7 |

Analysis of temperature change, neurite growth, cell membrane roughness, micromorphology, neurotransmitters and synaptic-related proteins(SYN and PSD95) was used to evaluate the potential effects.Results Temperature increase caused by the THz wave was negligible. THz waves induced significant neurotransmitter changes in primary hippocampal, cerebellar, and brainstem neurons and in MN9 D and PC12 cells. THz wave downregulated SYN expression in primary hippocampal neurons and downregulated PSD95 expression in primary cortical neurons.Conclusion Different types of cells responded differently after THz wave exposure, and primary hippocampal and cortical neurons and MN9 D cells were relatively sensitive to the THz waves. | 19 | The effect of Fe-Mn minerals and seawater interface and enrich-ment mechanism of ore-forming elements of polymetallic crusts and nodules from the South China Sea显示文摘Ferromanganese crusts and nodules are important submarine mineral resources that contain various metal elements with significant economic value. In this study, polymetallic crusts and nodules obtained from the South China Sea(SCS) were determined by using X-ray power diffraction(XRD), Raman spectroscopy(RS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) to systematically investigate and analyze the mineralogical and spectral characteristics of the Fe-Mn minerals. XRD measurements revealed that the SCS polymetallic crusts and nodules were composed of vernadite, quartz, and plagioclase. The nodules also contained todorokite. The Fe-phase minerals of the SCS crusts and nodules were composed of amorphous Fe oxide/hydroxide, and the Mn-and Fe-phases minerals exhibited relatively poor degrees of crystallization. FTIR results showed that the Fe-Mn minerals in the crusts and nodules included a large number of surface hydroxyl groups. These surface hydroxyl groups contained protons that could provide reactive sites for complexation of ore-forming elements in seawater. XPS results indicated that the surfaces of the Fe-Mn minerals mainly contained Fe, Mn, and O. Fe was present in the trivalent oxidation state, while Mn, which may contain several bivalent oxidation state, was present in the tetravalent and trivalent oxidation states. The SCS polymetallic crusts and nodules were compared with Pacific seamount crusts, and results showed that the surface hydroxyl(-OH) groups of the SCS crusts and nodules numbered more than the lattice oxygen(O^(2-)). But the lattice oxygen of Pacific seamount crusts numbered more than the surface hydroxyl groups. This characteristic indicated that the degree of crystallization of Fe-Mn minerals from the Pacific Ocean was higher than that of minerals from the South China Sea. | 20 | Reactive power optimization of a distribution network with high-penetration of wind and solar renewable energy and electric vehicles显示文摘As high amounts of new energy and electric vehicle(EV)charging stations are connected to the distribution network,the voltage deviations are likely to occur,which will further affect the power quality.It is challenging to manage high quality voltage control of a distribution network only relying on the traditional reactive power control mode.If the reactive power regulation potentials of new energy and EVs can be tapped,it will greatly reduce the reactive power optimization pressure on the network.Keeping this in mind,our reasearch first adds EVs to the traditional distribution network model with new forms of energy,and then a multi-objective optimization model,with achieving the lowest line loss,voltage deviation,and the highest static voltage stability margin as its objectives,is constructed.Meanwihile,the corresponding model parameters are set under different climate and equipment conditions.Ultimately,the optimization model under specific scenarios is obtained.Furthermore,considering the supply and demand relation-ship of the network,an improved technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution decision method is proposed,which aims to judge the adaptability of different algorithms to the optimized model,so as to select a most suitable algorithm for the problem.Finally,a comparison is made between the constructed model and a model without new energy.The results reveal that the constructed model can provide a high quality reactive power regula-tion strategy. | Biao Xu Guiyuan Zhang Ke Li Bing Li Hongyuan Chi Yao Yao Zhun Fan | 2022 | Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2022,7,1: | 4 |
