1The Yanshanian Granites and Associated Mo-Polymetallic Mineralization in the Xiangcheng-Luoji Area of the Sanjiang-Yangtze Conjunction Zone in Southwest China显示文摘The Xiangcheng-Luoji area is located in the conjunction of the southern part of the 'Sanjiang' mineralization belt and the west margin of Yangtze craton. The geological studies were carried out to know the Indosinian large porphyry Cu polymetallic deposits. Recent studies revealed that the area existed in the superposition of Late Yanshanian acidic intrusive rock belt and developed Mo-Cu polymetallic mineralization where promising exploration results have been achieved. Through the systematic study of geochronology, formation age of the Renlin Mo-minieralization monzogranite is 81.7±1.1 Ma. Re-Os dating results concentrate on 82.34±1.2–88.27±1.23 Ma for the model ages of molbdenite of Tongchanggou Mo deposits, average age is 85 ± 2 Ma where seven data points constitute a good isochron which shows that they were the same period products of mineralization. Geochemical features shown that the rocks have a high content of SiO 2(66.59–77.36wt%), alkaline-rich(K2O=2.68–6.08wt%; Na2O=0.50–4.91wt%; K2O/Na2 O ratios are 0.71–5.56, where average ratio of 1.89) and have aluminum–rich features(Al2O3 10.38–15.15wt%) with σ values less than 3.3. Which indicate that they belong to the high-K calc-alkali to shoshonite series. Geochemistry of Yanshanian intrusions shows that rocks are enrich in LREE with obvious negative δEu anomalies, enrichment of trace elements like, LILE elements(Rb, Th, Ba) with a relative loss of Ba, and loss of high field strength elements(Nb, Ta, P, Ti) and HREE elements. The granite genetic classification diagram shows that the granites belong to A-type granite and formatted in syn-collision tectonic environment. Meanwhile, the Yanshanian granites also inherited the characteristics of island arc environment which formed in the process of crustal melting caused by upwelling of asthenospheric substances in the extensional tectonic background. The process of partial melting existed substances from the deep(lower crust or upper mantle) which have been added. 2Sky islands of southwest China.I:an overview of phylogeographic patterns显示文摘Sky islands are high-elevation areas in continental mountain ranges,which are geographically isolated.We adopted this concept for the mountains in southwest China,which are among the most important biodiversity hot spots on earth.We reviewed the phylogeographic studies of this area and highlighted the sky-island features.We concluded that the genetic structures of species in these islands were shaped by complex topography,climate and habitats.The global climate change,such as Pleistocene climate fluctuations and periodic uplift of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau,also have important effects on biodiversity and geographic patterns,when species have responded idiosyncratically by changing their distributions or through adaptation.Future research needs in sky islands include multilocus data and comparative phylogeographic studies,integrating with the methodological advances in the other fields.Using these approaches,we can examine to what degree the geographic,climate and/or biological factors,shape strong geographic patterns,promote diversification/speciation and preserve species/genetic diversity.We hope this paper will inspire future work to uncover the mechanism that has generated the endemic biodiversity and to further resolve the most essential problem:How to protect the biodiversity with limited funding during the coming drastic global climate change.Kai He Xuelong Jiang 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,7:18
3Fractal characteristics of surface crack evolution in the process of gas-containing coal extrusion显示文摘In this paper, simulated experiment device of coal and gas outburst was employed to perform the experiment on gas-containing coal extrusion. In the experiment, coal surface cracks were observed with a high-speed camera and then the images were processed by sketch. Based on the above description, the paper studied the fractal dimension values from different positions of coal surface as well as their changing laws with time. The results show that there is a growing parabola trend of crack dimension value in the process of coal extrusion. Accordingly, we drew the conclusion that extruded coal crack evolution is a process of fractal dimension value increase. On the basis of fractal dimension values taken from different parts of coal masses, a fractal dimension of the contour map was drawn. Thus, it is clear that the contour map involves different crack fractal dimension values from different positions. To be specific, where there are complicated force and violent movement in coal mass, there are higher fractal dimension values, i.e., the further the middle of observation surface is from the exit of coal mass, and the lower the fractal dimension value is. In line with fractal geometry and energy theory of coal and gas outburst, this study presents the relation between fractal dimension and energy in the process of extruding. 4A generalized power iteration method for solving quadratic problem on the Stiefel manifold显示文摘In this paper, we first propose a novel generalized power iteration(GPI) method to solve the quadratic problem on the Stiefel manifold(QPSM) as minWTW =ITr(WTAW-2WTB) along with the theoretical analysis. Accordingly, its special case known as the orthogonal least square regression(OLSR) is under further investigation. Based on the aforementioned studies, we then majorly focus on solving the unbalanced orthogonal procrustes problem(UOPP). 5Clinicopathological features and survival analysis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms: a retrospective study in a single center of China显示文摘Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, survival and prognostic factors for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms(GEP-NENs) in a Chinese population.Methods: We investigated 154 consecutive patients(88 males, 66 females; median age 56 years, age range 9-86 years) diagnosed with GEP-NENs between 2001 and 2013 at The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. Demographic, clinical and pathological variables and survival data were retrieved.Results: The pancreas was the most common site of involvement(63/154, 40.9%). Tumor size varied from 0.3 to 16.0 cm(median, 1.2 cm). The patients were followed up for a median period of 22 months(range, 1-157 months). The estimated 3- and 5-year overall survival(OS) rates for all patients were 84.0% and 81.9%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that larger tumor size, lymphatic metastases and distant metastases were significant predictors for poor survival outcome.Conclusions: Our data provide further information on the clinicopathological features of GEP-NENs in China. 6Numerical investigation of turbulent flow coherent structures in annular jet pumps using the LES method显示文摘Annular jet pumps that are used in hydraulic machinery have a very simple structure but very complex internal flow fields. Large eddy simulations were used to study the coherent structures in the turbulent flows in annular jet pumps with various area ratios,m. The distribution, movement and evolution of the coherent structure in the annular jet pumps are described based on vorticity,pressure and Q criteria. All the criteria demonstrate that the vortexes are mainly distributed in the recirculation region and in the mixing and the boundary layers, which have large velocity gradients. The various characteristics of the coherent structures are shown by the different criteria with the vorticity criterion describing the distribution, movement and evolution of the vortexes,the pressure criterion describing the movement and the Q criterion describing the vortex movement and evolution. The vorticity variation in the spanwise direction is larger than the variation in the streamwise direction; however, the streamwise vortex is the main mechanism driving the entrainment of the secondary flow and the mixing. The annular jet pump with m=3.33 had a higher vortex shedding frequency(about 1000 Hz) than that with m=1.72(313–417 Hz). The azimuthal instability is the main reason for the generation of the streamwise vortex from the spanwise vortex. 9Quantitative structure-property relationship study of cathode volume changes in lithium ion batteries using ab-initio and partial least squares analysis显示文摘In this paper,we report a method through the combination of ab-initio calculations and partial least squares(PLS)analysis to develop the Quantitative Structure eActivity Relationship(QSAR)formulations of cathode volume changes in lithium ion batteries.The PLS analysis is based on ab-initio calculation data of 14 oxide cathodes with spinel structure LiX2O4 and 14 oxide cathodes with layered-structure LiXO_(2)(X=Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Nb,Mo,Ru,Rh,Pd,Ta,Ir).Five types of descriptors,describing the characteristics of each compound from crystal structure,element,composition,local distortion and electronic level,with 34 factors in total,are adopted to obtain the QSAR formulation.According to the variable importance in projection analysis,the radius of X4t ion,and the X octahedron descriptors make major contributions to the volume change of cathode during delithiation.The analysis is hopefully applied to the virtual screening and combinatorial design of low-strain cathode materials for lithium ion batteries.Xuelong Wang Ruijuan Xiao Hong Li Liquan Chen 2017Journal of Materiomics2017,3,3:6

12Different Roles of Land in Rural-Urban Migration:Evidence from China's Household Survey显示文摘This paper explores the influence of land holding on rural-urban migration using China's2008 household survey data.It shows that the contradictory findings of existing published literature can be explained by introducing a migration distance variable.The empirical studies show that land holding plays a different role in short-distance and long-distance migration.Land holding has a U-shaped curve association with the probability of shortdistance migration and has an inverted-U-shaped association with the probability of long-distance migration.Therefore,the government needs to provide more job information and migration subsidies to farmers who have little land to overcome difficulties in the process of migration so as to reduce rural-urban inequality.Xuelong Wang 2013China & World Economy2013,21,1:4
13Heterogeneous memory enhanced graph reasoning network for cross-modal retrieval显示文摘Cross-modal retrieval(CMR) aims to retrieve the instances of a specific modality that are relevant to a given query from another modality, which has drawn much attention because of its importance in bridging vision with language. A key to the success of CMR is to learn more discriminative and robust representations for both visual and textual instances to further reduce the heterogeneous discrepancy existing in different modalities. In this paper, we address this challenging issue by proposing a heterogeneous memory enhanced graph reasoning network, named HMGR, to connect the semantic correlations between vision and language.On the one hand, we design a novel dual-path network architecture to generate relationship enhanced global representations by employing modality-specific graph reasoning on extracted local features for each instance.In this way, the topological interdependencies of both visual and textual intra-instance local fragments are fully mined to achieve a deeper semantic understanding of the relationships between them. On the other hand,we focus on utilizing inter-instance semantic correlated knowledge to enhance the discriminability of the final learned representations, which is achieved by introducing a joint heterogeneous memory network to iteratively restore both visual and textual instance-level information. Through interacting with long-term contextual multimodal knowledge, an encouraging shared latent feature space for mitigating the heterogeneous gap across different modalities can be learned. 14Triple discriminator generative adversarial network for zero-shot image classification显示文摘One key challenge in zero-shot classification(ZSC)is the exploration of knowledge hidden in unseen classes.Generative methods such as generative adversarial networks(GANs)are typically employed to generate the visual information of unseen classes.However,the majority of these methods exploit global semantic features while neglecting the discriminative differences of local semantic features when synthesizing images,which may lead to sub-optimal results.In fact,local semantic information can provide more discriminative knowledge than global information can.To this end,this paper presents a new triple discriminator GAN for ZSC called TDGAN,which incorporates a text-reconstruction network into a dual discriminator GAN(D2GAN),allowing to realize cross-modal mapping from text descriptions to their visual representations.The text-reconstruction network focuses on key text descriptions for aligning semantic relationships to enable synthetic visual features to effectively represent images.Sharma-Mittal entropy is exploited in the loss function to make the distribution of synthetic classes be as close as possible to the distribution of real classes.The results of extensive experiments over the Caltech-UCSD Birds-2011 and North America Birds datasets demonstrate that the proposed TDGAN method consistently yields competitive performance compared to several state-of-the-art ZSC methods.Zhong JI Jiangtao YAN Qiang WANG Yanwei PANG Xuelong LI 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,2:4

18Characteristics of land-atmosphere energy and turbulentfluxes over the plateau steppe in central Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The land-atmosphere energy and turbulence exchange is key to understanding land surface processes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP). Using observed data for Aug. 4 to Dec. 3, 2012 from the Bujiao observation point(BJ) of the Nagqu Plateau Climate and Environment Station(NPCE-BJ), different characteristics of the energy flux during the Asian summer monsoon(ASM) season and post-monsoon period were analyzed. This study outlines the impact of the ASM on energy fluxes in the central TP. It also demonstrates that the surface energy closure rate during the ASM season is higher than that of the post-monsoon period. Footprint modeling shows the distribution of data quality assessments(QA) and quality controls(QC) surrounding the observation point. The measured turbulent flux data at the NPCE-BJ site were highly representative of the target land-use type. The target surface contributed more to the fluxes under unstable conditions than under stable conditions. The main wind directions(180° and 210°) with the highest data density showed flux contributions reaching 100%, even under stable conditions. The lowest flux contributions were found in sectors with low data density, e.g., 90.4% in the 360° sector under stable conditions during the ASM season. Lastly, a surface energy water balance(SEWAB) model was used to gap-fill any absent or corrected turbulence data. The potential simulation error was also explored in this study. The Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficients(NSEs) of the observed fluxes with the SEWAB model runs were 0.78 for sensible heat flux and 0.63 for latent heat flux during the ASM season, but unrealistic values of-0.9 for latent heat flux during the post-monsoon period.MaoShan Li ZhongBo Su YaoMing Ma XueLong Chen Lang Zhang ZeYong Hu 2016Research in Cold and Arid Regions2016,8,2:3
