Os isotope dating and growth hiatuses of Co-rich crust from central Pacific显示文摘Up to now, accurate determination of the growth age and hiatuses of the Co-rich crust is still a difficult work, which constrains the researches on the genesis, growth process, controlling factors, regional tectonics, paleo-oceanographic background, etc. of the Co-rich crust. This paper describes our work in determining the initial growth age of the Co-rich crust to be of the late Cretaceous Campanian Stage (about 75-80 Ma), by selecting the Co-rich crust with clear multi-layer structures in a central Pacific seamount for layer-by-layer sample analysis and using a number of chronological methods, such as Co flux dating, dating by correlation with 187Os/188Os evolution curves of seawater, and stratigraphic divi- sion by calcareous nannofossils. We have also discovered growth hiatuses with different time intervals in the early Paleocene, middle Eocene, late Eocene and early-middle Miocene, respectively. These re- sults have provided an important age background for further researches on the Co-rich crust growth process and the paleo-oceanographic environment evolution thereby revealed in the said region. | LI JiangShan FANG NianQiao QU WenJun DING Xuan GAO LianFeng WU ChangHang ZHANG ZhenGuo | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,10: | 6
Proteomic and bioinformatic analyses of possible targetrelated proteins of gambogic acid in human breast carcinoma MDA-MB-231 cells显示文摘Gambogic acid(GA) is an anticancer agent in phase Ⅱb clinical trial in China but its mechanism of action has not been fully clarified. The present study was designed to search the possible target-related proteins of GA in cancer cells using proteomic method and establish possible network using bioinformatic analysis. Cytotoxicity and anti-migration effects of GA in MDA-MB-231 cells were checked using MTT assay, flow cytometry, wound migration assay, and chamber migration assay. Possible target-related proteins of GA at early(3 h) and late stage(24 h) of treatment were searched using a proteomic technology, two-dimensional electrophoresis(2-DE). The possible network of GA was established using bioinformatic analysis. The intracellular expression levels of vimentin, keratin 18, and calumenin were determined using Western blotting. GA inhibited cell proliferation and induced cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase and apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 cells. Additionally, GA exhibited anti-migration effects at non-toxic doses. In 2-DE analysis, totally 23 possible GA targeted proteins were found, including those with functions in cytoskeleton and transport, regulation of redox state, metabolism, ubiquitin-proteasome system, transcription and translation, protein transport and modification, and cytokine. Network analysis of these proteins suggested that cytoskeleton-related proteins might play important roles in the effects of GA. Results of Western blotting confirmed the cleavage of vimentin, increase in keratin 18, and decrease in calumenin levels in GA-treated cells. In summary, GA is a multi-target compound and its anti-cancer effects may be based on several target-related proteins such as cytoskeleton-related proteins. | LI Dong SONG Xiao-Yi Yue Qing-Xi CUI Ya-Jun LIU Miao FENG Li-Xing WU Wan-Ying JIANG Bao-Hong YANG Min QU Xiao-Bo LIU Xuan GUO De-An | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2015,13,1: | 6

LncRNA GACAT2 binds with protein PKM1/2 to regulate cell mitochondrial function and cementogenesis in an inflammatory environment显示文摘Periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs) are a key cell type for restoring/regenerating lost/damaged periodontal tissues, including alveolar bone, periodontal ligament and root cementum, the latter of which is important for regaining tooth function. However,PDLSCs residing in an inflammatory environment generally exhibit compromised functions, as demonstrated by an impaired ability to differentiate into cementoblasts, which are responsible for regrowing the cementum. This study investigated the role of mitochondrial function and downstream long noncoding RNAs(lnc RNAs) in regulating inflammation-induced changes in the cementogenesis of PDLSCs. We found that the inflammatory cytokine-induced impairment of the cementogenesis of PDLSCs was closely correlated with their mitochondrial function, and lnc RNA microarray analysis and gain/loss-of-function studies identified GACAT2 as a regulator of the cellular events involved in inflammation-mediated mitochondrial function and cementogenesis.Subsequently, a comprehensive identification of RNA-binding proteins by mass spectrometry(Ch IRP-MS) and parallel reaction monitoring(PRM) assays revealed that GACAT2 could directly bind to pyruvate kinase M1/2(PKM1/2), a protein correlated with mitochondrial function. Further functional studies demonstrated that GACAT2 overexpression increased the cellular protein expression of PKM1/2, the PKM2 tetramer and phosphorylated PKM2, which led to enhanced pyruvate kinase(PK) activity and increased translocation of PKM2 into mitochondria. We then found that GACAT2 overexpression could reverse the damage to mitochondrial function and cementoblastic differentiation of PDLSCs induced by inflammation and that this effect could be abolished by PKM1/2 knockdown. Our data indicated that by binding to PKM1/2 proteins, the lnc RNA GACAT2 plays a critical role in regulating mitochondrial function and cementogenesis in an inflammatory environment. | Xuan Li Bei-Min Tian Dao-Kun Deng Fen Liu Huan Zhou De-Qin Kong Hong-Lei Qu Li-Juan Sun Xiao-Tao He Fa-Ming Chen | 2022 | Bone Research2022,10,3: | 4
Electrochemical micromachining of microgroove arrays on phosphor bronze surface for improving the tribological performance显示文摘A high friction coefficient and a low wear rate of contacted surfaces are essential elements to friction pairs between the stator and the rotor in ultrasonic motors. It has been shown that surface textures have a significant effect on improving the tribological performance of friction pairs. In this paper, microgroove arrays are introduced to the stator surface for improving the tribological performance of friction pairs between the stator and the rotor in ultrasonic motors. Microgrooves were fabricated on a phosphor bronze surface by through-mask electrochemical micromachining(TMEMM). Parameters, namely, the electrolyte inlet pressure, applied voltage, pulse duty cycle, and frequency, were varied to investigate their influences on the dimensions and morphology of the microgrooves. Results showed that the width and depth of the microgrooves were strongly affected by the applied voltage and frequency, while the morphology of the microgrooves was dependent on the electrolyte inlet pressure and the pulse duty cycle. Compared with a smooth surface, the friction coefficient increased from 0.245 to 0.334 and less abrasion was obtained when a surface was textured with microgrooves of which the width and depth were 185.6 and 57.6 lm,respectively. Microgroove arrays might play an important role in enhancing the performance of ultrasonic motors. | Xuan ZHOU Ningsong QU Zhibao HOU Gai ZHAO | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,7: | 3
Annular flexible thermoelectric devices with integrated-module architecture显示文摘Organic and composite thermoelectric(TE)materials have witnessed explosive developments in recent years.Design strategy of their flexible devices is vital to achieve high performance and suit various application environments. Here,we propose a design strategy of annular flexible TE devices with integrated-module architecture, where the independent modules made up of alternatively connected p-n couples are connected in series, and then rounded head-to-tail into annular configuration. The achieved devices can not only save plenty of space owing to their highly integrated structure design, but also be directly mounted on cylindrical objects(like pipes)to suit versatile applications.More importantly, the annular TE devices display excellent performances, superior to most previous work and the traditional serial single-layer film structure. For example, the annular device with eight modules consisting of three p-n couples reveals an output power of 12.37μW at a temperature gradient of 18 K,much higher than that of the corresponding single-layer film structure(1.74μW).The integration process is simple and easy to scale up.This architecture design strategy will greatly speed up the TE applications and benefit the research of organic and composite TE materials. | Dawei Qu Xuan Huang Xin Li Hanfu Wang Guangming Chen | 2020 | npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1: | 3
Identification of selenocyst-eine insertion sequence(SECIS) element in eukaryotic selenoproteins by RNA Draw program显示文摘The computer program RNA Draw was used to identify the secondary structures in the 3’untranslated regions (3’UTRs) of the mRNAs from 46 eukaryotic seleno-proteins among 7 species. The program found one or two possible SECIS elements in these selenoproteins. The SECIS element consists of a stem-loop or hairpin structure with three conserved sequences of AUGA-(A)AA-GA. SECIS element was not found by the RNA Draw program in randomly selected non-selenoproteins. The results showed that SECIS element is the unique character of the genes ofeukaryotic selenoproteins. Thus it is possible to use RNA Draw to search the SECIS elements in gene bank for potential new selenoproteins. | XU Huibi HUANG Kaixun QU Xianghu GAO Zhonghong LIU Qiong CHEN Runsheng XUAN Zhenyu | 2001 | Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,14: | 2
The relationship between the growth process of the ferromanganese crusts in the Pacific seamount and Cenozoic ocean evolvement显示文摘Base on the Os isotope stratigraphy together with the empirical growth rate models using Co concentrations, the growth ages of the ferromanganese crusts MHD79 and MP3D10 distributed in the seamount of Pacific are confirmed. Through the contrast and research on the previous achievements including ODP Leg 144 and the crusts CD29-2, N5E-06 and N1-15 of the seamount of the Central Pacific, the uniform five growth and growth hiatus periods of them are found, and closely related to the Cenozoic ocean evolvement process. In the Paleocene Carbon Isotope Maximum (PCIM), the rise of the global ocean productivity promoted the growth of the seamount crust; the first growth hiatus (I) of the ferromanganese crust finished. In the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), though the vertical exchange of seawater was weakened, the strong terrestrial chemical weathering led to the input of a great amount of the terrigenous nutrients, which made the bioproductivity rise, so there were no crust hiatuses. During 52-50 Ma, the Early Eocene Optimum Climate (EECO), the two poles were warm, the latitudinal temperature gradient was small, the wind-driven sea circulation and upwelling activity were weak, the terrestrial weathering was also weakened, the open ocean bioproductivity decreased, and the ferromanganese crust had growth hiatus again (II). From early Middle Eocene-Late Eocene, Oligocene, it was a long-term gradually cooling process, the strengthening of the sea circulation and upwelling led to a rise of bioproductivity, and increase of the content of the hydrogenous element Fe, Mn and Co and the biogenous element Cu, Zn, so that was the most favorable stage for the growth of ferromanganese crust (growth periods III and IV) in the studied area. The hiatus III corresponded with the Eocene-Oligocene boundary, is inferred to relate with the global climate transformation, celestial body impact event in the Eocene-Oligocene transition. From the early to the middle Miocene, a large-scale growth hiatus (hiatus period IV) of the ferromanganese crust in the studied area is inferred to relate with temporary warm up climate and ephemeral withdrawal of Antarctic bottom water in the early Miocene. After that, the Antarctic ice sheets extended, the bottom water circumfluence strengthened, the ocean fertility increased, and the once interrupted crust continued to grow in the late Miocene (growth period V). | DING Xuan GAO LianFeng FANG NianQiao QU WenJun LIU Jian LI JiangShan | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,8: | 2

During the baking of the dry gel powder, two exothermic peaks occur, followed by the formation of Li 2O and Co 3O 4 and then the combination of LiCoO 2, which is testified by DTA and XRD. The powder formed from an alkaline sol is finer than that from the acidic one. There are a single phase intercalation of lithium ion and an electrochemical reduction reaction for higher valence cobalt ion when simulating the discharging process of Li B/LiCl KCl/lithium cobalt oxides at 500 ℃, and the voltage and specific capacity are not sensitive to the initial ratios of lithium to cobalt. | LI Zhi you,HUANG Bai yun,ZHU Yong li,LIU Zhi jian,QU Xuan hui (State Key Laboratory for Powder Metallurgy, Central South University of Technology, Changsha 410083, China) | 2000 | Journal of Central South University2000,12,2: | 1 |
