1Western North Pacific Tropical Cyclone Database Created by the China Meteorological Administration显示文摘This paper describes the access to, and the content, characteristics, and potential applications of the tropical cyclone(TC) database that is maintained and actively developed by the China Meteorological Administration, with the aim of facilitating its use in scientific research and operational services. This database records data relating to all TCs that have passed through the western North Pacific(WNP) and South China Sea(SCS) since 1949. TC data collection has expanded over recent decades via continuous TC monitoring using remote sensing and specialized field detection techniques,allowing collation of a multi-source TC database for the WNP and SCS that covers a long period, with wide coverage and many observational elements. This database now comprises a wide variety of information related to TCs, such as historical or real-time locations(i.e., best track and landfall), intensity, dynamic and thermal structures, wind strengths, precipitation amounts, and frequency. 2Artificial intelligence in drug design显示文摘Thanks to the fast improvement of the computing power and the rapid development of the computational chemistry and biology,the computer-aided drug design techniques have been successfully applied in almost every stage of the drug discovery and development pipeline to speed up the process of research and reduce the cost and risk related to preclinical and clinical trials.Owing to the development of machine learning theory and the accumulation of pharmacological data, the artificial intelligence(AI) technology, as a powerful data mining tool, has cut a figure in various fields of the drug design, such as virtual screening,activity scoring, quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR) analysis, de novo drug design, and in silico evaluation of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity(ADME/T) properties. Although it is still challenging to provide a physical explanation of the AI-based models, it indeed has been acting as a great power to help manipulating the drug discovery through the versatile frameworks. 3Design of sandwich-structured ZnO/ZnS/Au photoanode for enhanced efficiency of photoelectrochemical wate splitting显示文摘We developed and demonstrated a ZnO/ZnS/Au composite photoanode with significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical water-splitting performance, con- taining a ZnS interlayer and Au nanoparticles. The solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of this ZnO/ZnS/Au heterostructure reached 0.21%, 3.5 times that of pristine ZnO. The comparison of the incident photon-to-current efficiency (IPCE) and the photoresponse in the white and visible light regions further verified that the enhancement resulted from contributions of both UV and visible light. The modification of the Au NPs was shown to improve the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance to both UV and visible light, as modification encouraged effective surface passivation and surface-plasmon- resonance effects. The ZnS interlayer favored the movement of photogenerated electrons under UV light and hot electrons under visible light, causing their injection into ZnO; this simultaneously suppressed the electron-hole recombination at the photoanode-electrolyte interface. 4Strain Softening and Hardening Behavior in AZ61 Magnesium Alloy显示文摘The deformation behavior of AZ61 Mg alloy during hot deformation has been investigated in wide temperature and strain rate range by a Gleeble simulator. Specimens are deformed in compression in the temperature range of 523~673 K and at strain rates of 0.001~1 s-1. It is found that the flow curves exhibit a peak and then decrease towards steady-state of classical DRX, which decrease with rising temperature and decreasing strain rate. The deformation behavior of the specimens can be attributed to the occurrence of strain hardening and softening. As stress decreases, the strain hardening rate declines at a fast rate when temperature rises or strain rate decreases. The shapes of θ-σ curves indicate some important features such as subgrain formation, the critical stress, the peak stress and steady stress. 5Comparison of potential potassium leaching associated with organic and inorganic potassium sources in different arable soils in China显示文摘Potassium (K) leaching is detrimental to the maintenance of sustainable arable soil K fertility,especially in low-K fixation soils.It is not known whether the application of inorganic fertilizers with lower K mobility or crop straw can reduce potential K leaching in low-K fixation arable soils.The potential K leaching of 14 representative arable soils with different K fixation capacities in China was evaluated with or without the addition of K under two rainfall intensities (90 and 225 mm),and then potential K leaching was assessed in relation to five K sources (KCl,K_(2)SO_(4),KH_(2)PO_(4),maize (Zea mays L.) straw,and rice (Oryza sativa L.) straw).Without K addition,K leaching mainly occurred in sandy soils at 90 mm of rainfall and in soils with greater organic matter at225 mm of rainfall.With K addition,the leaching percentage of exogenous K ranged from 0.6%to 11.6%at 90 mm of rainfall and 1.2%to 21.2%at 225 mm of rainfall.The greatest K leaching occurred in soils with fewer K-bearing minerals and lower pH at both rainfall intensities.In most cases,KH_(2)PO_(4),which has lower K mobility,markedly reduced K leaching in both high-and low-K leaching soils at the two rainfall intensities.Maize and rice straw reduced K leaching only in soils with high K leaching,regardless of rainfall amount,whereas more K was leached in soils with lower K leaching at high rainfall intensity.In conclusion,KH_(2)PO_(4) and straw should be preferred for reducing K leaching in low-K fixation arable soils.Dianjun LU Yanhong DONG Xiaoqin CHEN Huoyan WANG Jianmin ZHOU 2022Pedosphere2022,32,2:3
6AN OBJECTIVE TROPICAL CYCLONE INTENSITY ESTIMATION MODEL BASED ON DIGITAL IR SATELLITE IMAGES显示文摘An objective tropical cyclone(TC) intensity estimation model is proposed based on the statistical relationship between TC intensity and its inner-core convection,plus the persistence of TC intensity.In the model,the innercore convection is described by several parameters retrieved from digital infrared(IR) satellite images,including the number of convective cores(Num),their distance to the TC center,and their blackbody temperature(TBB),among others.The persistence of TC intensity is embodied by the TC intensity six hours previous(V6h).The model was set up by the stepwise regression technique using a five-year dataset(2006-2010) and was tested using an independent dataset covering 2011-2012,with V6h from the best-track dataset.Selected factors of the model included V6h,Num,Lat(TC center latitude),Lon(TC center longitude),DISmin(minimum distance between convective cores and TC center),and TBBdif(difference between the maximum and minimum TBB value of convective cores).Results showed that,for independent samples during 2011-2012,the MAE(mean absolute error) and RMSE(root-mean-square error) of Vmax estimation were 1.8 m s-1 and 2.4 m s-1,respectively.In order to make the model totally independent from the best-track dataset,the model estimation from six hours previous was used as the V6h for a second independent test covering 2011-2012.The results showed that the model had an MAE and RMSE of 5.4 m s-1 and 7.3 m s-1,respectively.Large errors were found for strong TCs(Severe Typhoon or Super Typhoon).The error statistics of the proposed model are comparable to published statistics on the widely used Dvorak technique or its objective versions,implying its potential to be used as an alternative tool for TC intensity estimation in either real-time operation or post-season best-track analyses.XIAOQIN LU HUI YU 2013Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2013,2,4:2
7A METHODOLOGICAL STUDY ON AMH COPULA-BASED JOINT EXCEEDANCE PROBABILITIES AND APPLICATIONS FOR ASSESSING TROPICAL CYCLONE IMPACTS AND DISASTER RISKS(PART Ⅰ)显示文摘A disaster induced by a tropical cyclone(TC)is a complex non-linear process,involving interactions of multiple factors.Assuming that the resilience to TC disasters remains basically unchanged,the disaster-causing risk is usually consistent with intensities of the TC-induced rainstorms and wind.When an area is hit by a low probability TC,the rainstorm and wind intensities are higher,and the likelihood for causing a disaster is greater.Therefore,criteria for the impact of a TC and disaster risk assessments can be established based on the probable intensities of the TC-associated rainstorms and wind.In this study,an AMH Copula-based function is introduced to investigate the joint risk probabilities of TC rainstorms and wind.In line with the equivalence principle of the distribution of a stochastic atmospheric phenomenon in both time and space,and taking the impact on Shanghai of TC Haikui as an example,the Copula-based joint probability distribution model is developed to assess the impacts of TC rainstorms and wind,based on the marginal distributions of the maximum daily rainfall and extreme gust velocity.The joint exceedance probabilities of TC rainstorms and wind derived from the model can be used as criteria to measure the risk levels.As our findings show,this approach captures the TC risks well,especially in high-risk areas.The aim of the study is to provide a practically useful concept for making more accurate assessments of the risk level of an extreme weather event using observational data,and objective criteria for risk avoidance and transfer.QIUZHEN YANG MING XU XIAOTU LEI XIAO ZHOU XIAOQIN LU 2014Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2014,3,1:2

9Spatial Distribution Pattern and Sampling Technology of Soritia leptalina Larvae on Quercus aquifolioides显示文摘Soritia leptalina endangers mainly Quercus aquifolioides, and it became particularly rampant on Q. aquifolioides in Linzhi area, Tibet. By applying field investigation and lab analysis, this study explored the spatial distribution type and sampling technology of S. leptalina larvae on Q. aquifolioides. The results showed that insect density in the upper layer of tree canopy is higher than that in the middle and lower layer,that in the upper, middle and lower layer of different levels varies greatly, and insect density in different directions follows the sequence: east > north > west > south; spatial distribution of S. leptalina on Q.aquifolioides belongs to aggregation type, larvae show mutual repulsion; aggregation of S. leptalina is the result of biological characteristics of its larvae and the habitat environment; taking Iwa regression model as the basis, the optimal sampling quantity is determined. 10MULTI-FLORET SPIKELET 4(MFS4)Regulates Spikelet Development and Grain Size in Rice显示文摘In rice,the spikelet is the basic unit of inflorescence,and its development is important for determining the grain yield and quality.We reported a rice spikelet mutant multi-floret spikelet 4(mfs4)which resulted in the production of extra floral organs or a whole extra floret,and elongated sterile lemmas.The results suggested that the mutation of the MFS4 gene interfered with spikelet meristem determinacy and floral organ identity.In addition,the plant height and the grain length and width in the mfs4 mutant were all less than those in the wild type.Using the bulked segregant analysis method,the MFS4 gene was localized in a 557-kb region on the long arm of chromosome 1.Sequence analysis showed that there was a C-base deletion at the open reading frame of LOC_Os01g67430.Further tests indicated that a wild type copy of LOC_Os01g67430 was able to reverse the mfs4 defects,which indicated that LOC_Os01g67430 was the MFS4 gene.The MFS4 gene encodes a lipase located in the mitochondria and is expressed strongly in the young inflorescence.qRT-PCR results showed that the expression of some genes that were known to regulate spikelet meristem determinacy and grain size were decreased in the mfs4 mutant,which indicated that the MFS4 gene regulates spikelet meristem determinacy and grain size by modulating the expression of these genes.Wang Yan Zeng Xiaoqin Lu Lu Cheng Qinglan Yang Fayu Huang Mingjiang Xiong Mao Li Yunfeng 2021Rice science2021,28,4:1

13Hepatocyte growth factor gene transfer effects on the femoral and intramuscular nerve in a canine model of lower limb ischemia显示文摘BACKGROUND: Recent advancements in gene therapy have provided new methodology for treating ischemia in lower extremities. Gene transfer of angiogenic factors to ischemic tissues may promote local proliferation of new vessels and form collateral circulation. OBJECTIVE: To observe histopathological changes in the femoral and intramuscular nerve three months after intramuscular injection of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) into the peripheral skeletal muscle in a canine model of lower limb ischemia. DESIGN: Randomized occlusion modelled and verification animal study. SETTING: Experimental Center, Lanzhou General Hospital of Lanzhou Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS: This study was performed at Animal Experimental Center, Lanzhou General Hospital of Lanzhou Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from September to November 2006. A total of eight male mongrel dogs, weighing 12–15 kg and 1.5–3 years of age, were selected for this study. This experimental study was in accordance with local ethics standards. Recombinant plasmid carrying HGF (pUDKH) and occlusion model plasmid (pUDK) were provided by the Third Laboratory of Radiation Medical Institute, Academy of Military Medical Sciences of PLA. METHODS: Grouping and model establishment: under anesthesia, complete vascular occlusion models were established on the left lower extremities. The experimental dogs were randomly divided into a model group and a pUDKH treatment group, with four dogs in each group. Dogs in the pUDKH group were injected with 0.15 mg/kg pUDKH. Ten minutes later, intramuscular injections were performed at three spots into the peripheral skeletal muscle of the left hind limb, as well as lateral injections at two spots. The injection volume at each spot was 0.2 mL. Dogs in the model group were injected with pUDK, and dosage and injection method were identical to the treatment group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Histopathological changes in the femoral nerve, as well as internal and external intramuscular nerve tissues in the hind limb of dogs three months after plasmid injection under optic microscope. RESULTS: (1) Histopathological changes in the femoral nerve: tiny nerves from the femoral nerve to the intramuscular nerve exhibited marked degeneration in the model group. The degenerating features included neurites, myelin sheaths, and Schwann cell nuclei. Neuropathy in the pUDKH treatment group was not detected. (2) Histopathological changes of the intramuscular nerve: large and irregular vacuoles were present on several longitudinal sections of intramuscular nerve fibers in the model group, as well as annular-shaped blank regions on transverse sections of peripheral neurites. In the pUDKH treatment group, large, blank regions were present in several segments of partial nerve fibers of the longitudinal intramuscular nerve region, but only a few nerve fibers exhibited annular-shaped blank regions on the transverse section of peripheral neurites. 18A new technique for automatically locating the center of tropical cyclones with multi-band cloud imagery显示文摘A spiral cloud belt matching(SCBeM)technique is proposed for automatically locating the tropical cyclone(TC)center position on the basis of multi-band geo-satellite images.The technique comprises four steps:fusion of multi-band geo-satellite images,extraction of TC cloud systems,construction of a spiral cloud belt template(CBT),and template matching to locate the TC center.In testing of the proposed SCBeM technique on 97 TCs over the western North Pacific during 2012-2015,the median error(ME)was 50 km.An independent test of another 29 TCs in 2016 resulted in a ME of 54 km.The SCBeM performs better for TCs with intensity above“typhoon”level than it does for weaker systems,and is not suitable for use on high-latitude or landfall TCs if their cloud band formations have been destroyed by westerlies or by terrain.The proposed SCBeM technique provides an additional solution for automatically and objectively locating the TC center and has the potential to be applied conveniently in an operational setting.Intercomparisons between the Automated Rotational Center Hurricane Eye Retrieval(ARCHER)and SCBeM methods using events from 2014 to 2016 reveal that ARCHER has better location accuracy.However,when IR imagery alone is used,the ME of SCBeM is 54 km,and in the case of low latitudes and low vertical wind shear the ME is 45-47 km,which approaches that of ARCHER(49 km).Thus,the SCBeM method is simple,has good time resolution,performs well and is a better choice for those TC operational agencies in the case that the microwave images,ASCAT,or other observations are unavailable.Xiaoqin LU Hui YU Xiaoming YANG Xiaofeng LI Jie TANG 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4:1
