1An experimental and thermodynamic equilibrium investigation of the Pb,Zn,Cr,Cu,Mn and Ni partitioning during sewage sludge incineration显示文摘The effects of different chlorides and operational conditions on the distribution and speciation of six heavy metals(Pb, Zn, Cr, Cu, Mn and Ni) during sludge incineration were investigated using a simulated laboratory tubular-furnace reactor. A thermodynamic equilibrium investigation using the Fact Sage software was performed to compare the experimental results. The results indicate that the volatility of the target metals was enhanced as the chlorine concentration increased. Inorganic-Cl influenced the volatilization of heavy metals in the order of Pb > Zn > Cr > Cu > Mn > Ni. However, the effects of organic-Cl on the volatility of Mn, Pb and Cu were greater than the effects on Zn, Cr and Ni.With increasing combustion temperature, the presence of organic-Cl(PVC) and inorganic-Cl(NaCl) improved the transfer of Pb and Zn from bottom ash to fly ash or fuse gas. However,the presence of chloride had no obvious influence on Mn, Cu and Ni. Increased retention time could increase the volatilization rate of heavy metals; however, this effect was insignificant. During the incineration process, Pb readily formed Pb SiO4 and remained in the bottom ash. 2Synthesis of Li_4Ti_5O_(12) nanostructural anode materials with high charge–discharge capability显示文摘This study demonstrates a facile and efficient hydrothermal method to prepare spindle titanate(Li4Ti5O12 denoted as LTO)and/or carbon-LTO nanocomposites(CLTO),in which the LTO or C-LTO microspheres have diameters of a few micrometers,composed of numerous nanosheets with thickness of*30 nm and edge length of hundreds of nanometers.The morphology and size control of these nanoparticles could be achieved by varying experimental parameters including concentration of titanium butoxide,lithium hydroxide,and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide,as well as reaction temperature and time.These micro-nanostructures were characterized by several advanced techniques,such as transmission electron microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis,surface area,and electrochemical measurements.The LTO and C-LTO microstructures were examined in the charge–discharge capacity at a rate of 50 C,as well as the stability after 100 cycles at a rate of 10 C.The excellent capability may be attributed to good conductivity,large surface area,and stable assembly structure of such micro-nanostructures,which could be explored as a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries.Ru Wen Jeffrey Yue Zifeng Ma Wuming Chen Xuchuan Jiang Aibing Yu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,18:8
3Identification of QTL and candidate genes involved in early seedling growth in rice via high-density genetic mapping and RNA-seq显示文摘Early seedling vigor(ESV)is a major breeding target in rice,especially under direct seeding.To identify quantitative trait locus(QTL)affecting ESV,a recombinant inbred line population derived from a cross between 02428 and YZX,two cultivars differing in vigor during early seedling growth,was used for QTL analysis.Nine traits associated with ESV were examined using a high-density map.Of 16 additive loci identified,three were detected in two generations and thus considered stable.Four epistatic interactions were detected,one of which was repeated in two generations.Further analysis of the pyramiding effect of the three stable QTL showed that the phenotypic value could be effectively improved with an increasing number of QTL.These results were combined with results from our previous QTL analysis of the germination index.The lines G58 and G182 combined all the favourable alleles of all three stable QTL for ESV and three QTL for germination speed.These two lines showed rapid germination and strong ESV.A total of 37 candidate differentially expressed genes were obtained from the regions of the three stable QTL by analysis of the dynamic transcriptomic expression profile during the seedling growth period of the two parents.The QTL are targets for ESV breeding and the candidate genes await functional validation.This study provides a theoretical basis and a genetic resource for the breeding of directseeded rice.Jing Yang Zhenhua Guo Lixin Luo Qiaoli Gao Wuming Xiao Jiafeng Wang Hui Wang Zhiqiang Chen Tao Guo 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:6
4Numerical simulations of deformation and movement of blocks within North China in response to 1976 Tangshan earthquake显示文摘Using methods of discontinuous deformation analysis and finite element (DDA+FEM), this paper simulates dynamic processes of the Tangshan earthquake of 1976, which occurred in the northern North China where its internal blocks apparently interacted. Studies focus upon both the movement and deformation of the blocks, in particular, the Ordos block, and variations of stress states on the boundary faults. The Tangshan earthquake was composed of three events: slipping motions of NNE-striking major fault, NE-striking fault near the northeastern end of the NNE-striking fault, and NW-striking fault on the southeastern side of the NNE-striking fault. Compared with previous studies, our model yields a result that is more agreeable with the configuration of aftershock distributions. A number of data are presented, such as the principle stress field during the earthquake, contours of the maximum shear stress, the strike-slip deformation between blocks near the earthquake focus, time-dependent variations of slips of earthquake-triggered faulting, the maximum slip distance, and stress drops. These results are in accord with the earthquake source mechanism, basic parameters from earthquake wave study, macro-isoseismic line, observed horizontal displacement vectors, etc. The Tangshan earthquake exerted different influences on the adjacent blocks and boundary faults between them, thus resulting in differential movement and deformation. The Ordos block seems to have experienced the small-scale counterclockwise rotation and deformation, but its northeast part, bounded on the east by the Taihangshan and on the north by the Yanshan and Yinshan belts, underwent relatively stronger deformation. The Tangshan earthquake also changed the stress state of boundary faults of the North China, leading to an increase in shear stress and a decrease in normal stress in the NW-trending Zhangjiakou-Penglai fault through Tangshan City and the northern border faults of the Ordos block, and therefore raises the potential risk of earthquake occurrence. 5Hybrid nano-scale Au with ITO structure for a high-performance near-infrared silicon-based photodetector with ultralow dark current显示文摘An internal photoemission-based silicon photodetector detects light below the silicon bandgap at room temperature and can exhibit spectrally broad behavior,making it potentially suited to meet the need for a near-infrared pure Si photodetector.In this work,the implementation of a thin Au insertion layer into an ITO/n-Si Schottky photodetector can profoundly affect the barrier height and significantly improve the device performance.By fabricating a nanoscale thin Au layer and an ITO electrode on a silicon substrate,we achieve a well-behaved ITO/Au/n-Si Schottky diode with a record dark current density of 3.7×10^(−7) A/cm^(2) at−1 V and a high rectification ratio of 1.5×10^(8) at±1 V.Furthermore,the responsivity has been obviously improved without sacrificing the dark current performance of the device by decreasing the Au thickness.Such a silicon-based photodetector with an enhanced performance could be a promising strategy for the realization of a monolithic integrated pure silicon photodetector in optical communication.Xinxin Li Zhen Deng Jun Li Yangfeng Li Linbao Guo Yang Jiang Ziguang Ma Lu Wang Chunhua Du Ying Wang Qingbo Meng Haiqiang Jia Wenxin Wang Wuming Liu Hong Chen 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:4
6Controllable photodynamic performance via an acidic microenvironment based on two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks for photodynamic therapy显示文摘Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is a widely-used technology for cancer therapy,but conventional photosensitizers still face some drawbacks,such as hydrophobicity,inadequate pharmacokinetics,low cell/tissue specificity,and uncontrollable photodynamic performance during the therapeutic process.Herein,we present a controllable photodynamic performance based on two-dimensional metal-organic frameworks(2D Zn-TCPP MOF)that displayed a week PDT effect under a neutral environment upon exposure to a 660 nm laser due to the degeneracy of Q bands of TCPP.However,the 2D Zn-TCPP MOF showed a significantly enhanced PDT effect in an acidic environment under irradiation with a 660 nm laser due to the released TCPP from decomposed MOF structure.From the in vitro outcomes,the 2D Zn-TCPP MOF showed controllable photodynamic performance from neutral to acidic environments.Due to the acidic tumor microenvironment,the 2D Zn-TCPP MOF presented the strongest antitumor effect in vivo under irradiation with a 660 nm laser.This work offers a promising strategy to develop a next-generation photosensitizer.Lifeng Hang Tao Zhang Hua Wen Lianbao Liang Wuming Li Xiaofen Ma Guihua Jiang 2021Nano Research2021,14,3:4
7Quantum information and many body physics with cold atoms显示文摘We review our recent theoretical advances in quantum information and many body physics with cold atoms in various external potential, such as harmonic potential, kagome optical lattice, triangular optical lattice, and honeycomb lattice. The many body physics of cold atom in harmonic potential is investigated in the frame of mean-field Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Then the quantum phase transition and strongly correlated effect of cold atoms in triangular optical lattice, and the interacting Dirac fermions on honeycomb lattice, are investigated by using cluster dynamical mean-field theory and continuous time quantum Monte Carlo method. 9Thermodynamic behaviors of Cu in interaction with chlorine, sulfur, phosphorus and minerals during sewage sludge co-incineration显示文摘Thermodynamic equilibrium calculations were performed to reveal effects of interactions among Cl, S, P and other minerals on Cu migration. Our results showed that HCl(g), SO2(g) and(P_2O_5)_2(g) were released from the sewage sludge co-incineration. Cl was found to weaken adsorption of Cu by Al_2O_3, CaO and Fe_2O_3, while S delayed reactions of Fe_2O_3 and Al_2O_3 with Cu, with P having no effect on reactions between the minerals and Cu.Among the coupled systems of Cl, S and P, the co-existences of Cl and S, and Cl, S and P were determined to inhibit Cu volatilization, and the co-existence of Cl and P had an enhancing effect. Cu migration was affected only by S in the S and P system. With the SiO_2, CaO and Al_2O_3 system, both Cl alone and Cl and P led to failed reactions between the minerals and Cu. 10Amorphous MoS_(3) enriched with sulfur vacancies for efficient electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction显示文摘Developing low-priced,yet effective and robust catalysts for the nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) is of vital importance for scalable and renewable electrochemical NH3 synthesis.Herein,we provide the first demonstration of MoS_3 as an efficient and durable NRR catalyst in neutral media.The prepared amorphous MoS_3 naturally possessed enriched S vacancies and delivered an NH3 yield of 51.7 μg h^(-1) mg^(-1)and a Faradaic efficiency of 12.8% at-0.3 V(RHE) in 0.5 M LiClO_4,considerably exceeding those of MoS_2 and most reported NRR catalysts.Density functional theory calculations unraveled that S vacancies involved in MoS_3 played a crucial role in activating the NRR via a consecutive mechanism with a low energetics barrier and simultaneously suppressing the hydrogen evolution reaction.Ke Chu Haifeng Nan Qingqing Li Yali Guo YeTian Wuming Liu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:2
11Multi-Path Routing and Resource Allocation in Active Network显示文摘An algorithm of traffic distribution called active multi\|path routing (AMR) in active network is proposed. AMR adopts multi\|path routing and applies nonlinear optimize approximate method to distribute network traffic among multiple paths. It is combined to bandwidth resource allocation and the congestion restraint mechanism to avoid congestion happening and worsen. So network performance can be improved greatly. The frame of AMR includes adaptive traffic allocation model, the conception of supply bandwidth and its’ allocation model, the principle of congestion restraint and its’ model, and the implement of AMR based on multi\|agents system in active network. Through simulations, AMR has distinct effects on network performance. 12Quantification of occlusions influencing the tree stem curve retrieving from single-scan terrestrial laser scanning data显示文摘Background: The stem curve of standing trees is an essential parameter for accurate estimation of stem volume.This study aims to directly quantify the occlusions within the single-scan terrestrial laser scanning(TLS) data,evaluate its correlation with the accuracy of the retrieved stem curves, and subsequently, to assess the capacity of single-scan TLS to estimate stem curves.Methods: We proposed an index, occlusion rate, to quantify the occlusion level in TLS data. We then analyzed three influencing factors for the occlusion rate: the percentage of basal area near the scanning center, the scanning distance and the source of occlusions. Finally, we evaluated the effects of occlusions on stem curve estimates from single-scan TLS data.Results: The results showed that the correlations between the occlusion rate and the stem curve estimation accuracies were strong(r = 0.60–0.83), so was the correlations between the occlusion rate and its influencing factors(r = 0.84–0.99). It also showed that the occlusions from tree stems were the main factor of the low detection rate of stems, while the non-stem components mainly influenced the completeness of the retrieved stem curves.Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that the occlusions significantly affect the accuracy of stem curve retrieval from the single-scan TLS data in a typical-size(32 m × 32 m) forest plot. However, the single-scan mode has the capacity to accurately estimate the stem curve in a small forest plot(< 10 m × 10 m) or a plot with a lower occlusion rate, such as less than 35% in our tested datasets. The product of the alkaline hydrolysis exhibited a sensitive second derivative wave at-0.50 V(vs. SCE) in a 1. 0×10-5mol/L sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) + 0. 1 mol/L HAc-NaAc (pH 4. 0) buffer. The peak current was linearly proportional to the concentration of omethoate in the range from 6. 4 ×10-7 to 5. 1 ×10-5mol/L. 14Experimental study on permanent deformation characteristics of coarse-grained soil under repeated dynamic loading显示文摘Practical assessment of subgrade settlement induced by train operation requires developing suitable models capable of describing permanent deformation characteristics of subgrade filling under repeated dynamic loading.In this paper,repeated load triaxial tests were performed on coarse-grained soil(CGS),and the axial permanent strain of CGS under different confining pressures and dynamic stress amplitudes was analysed.Permanent deformation behaviors of CGS were categorized based on the variation trend of permanent strain rate with accumulated permanent strain and the shakedown theory.A prediction model of permanent deformation considering stress state and number of load cycles was established,and the ranges of parameters for different types of dynamic behaviors were also divided.The results indicated that the variational trend of permanent strain rate with accumulated permanent strain can be used as a basis for classifying dynamic behaviors of CGS.The stress state(confining pressure and dynamic stress amplitude)has significant effects on the permanent strain rate.The accumulative characteristics of permanent deformation of CGS with the number of load cycles can be described by a power function,and the model parameters can reflect the influence of confining pressure and dynamic stress amplitude.The study’s results could help deepen understanding of the permanent deformation characteristics of CGS.Huihao Mei Sajjad Satvati Wuming Leng 2021Railway Engineering Science2021,29,1:2

16Amorphization activated FeB_(2) porous nanosheets enable efficient electrocatalytic N_(2) fixation显示文摘Designing active,robust and cost-effective catalysts for the nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) is of paramount significance for sustainable electrochemical NH3 synthesis.Transition-metal diborides(TMB_2)have been recently theoretically predicted to be a new class of potential NRR catalysts,but direct experimental evidence is still lacking.Herein,we present the first experimental demonstration that amorphous FeB_2 porous nanosheets(a-FeB_2 PNSs) could be a highly efficient NRR catalyst,which exhibited an NH3 yield of 39.8 μg h^(-1) mg^(-1)(-0.3 V) and a Faradaic efficiency of 16.7%(-0.2 V),significantly outperforming their crystalline counterpart and most of existing NRR catalysts.First-principle calculations unveiled that the amorphization could induce the upraised d-band center of a-FeB_2 to boost d-2π~* coupling between the active Fe site and ~*N_2 H intermediate,resulting in enhanced ~*N_2 H stabilization and reduced reaction barrier.Out study may facilitate the development and understanding of earth-abundant TMB_2-based catalysts for electrocatalytic N_2 fixation.Ke Chu Weicong Gu Qingqing Li Yaping Liu Ye Tian Wuming Liu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:2

20Spectrum evolution of Rayleigh backscattering in one‐dimensional waveguide显示文摘Despite the tremendous awareness of Rayleigh scattering characteristics and its considerable research interest for numerous fields,no report has been documented on the dynamic characteristics of spectrum evolution(SpE)and physical law for Rayleigh scattering from a micro perspective.Herein,the dynamic characteristics of the SpE of Rayleigh scattering in a one-dimensional waveguide(ODW)is investigated based on the quantum theory and a SpE-model of Rayleigh backscattering(RBS)source is established.By means of simulation,the evolution law which represents the dynamic process of the spectrum linewidth at a state of continuous scattering is revealed,which is consistent with our previous experimental observation.Moreover,an approximate theoretical prediction of the existing relationship between the spectrum linewidth of RBS source and the transmission length in ODW is proposed,which theoretically provides the feasibility of constructing functional devices suitable to ascertain laser linewidth compression.The designed experimental scheme can be implemented provided the assumptions are fulfilled.In addition,a theoretical model of the micro-cavity structure to realize the deep compression of laser linewidth is proposed.Fuhui Li Tianyi Lan Ligang Huang Iroegbu Paul Ikechukwu Wuming Liu Tao Zhu 2019Opto-Electronic Advances2019,2,8:1
