1Nickel accumulation and its effects on the survival rate of Spodoptera litura Fabricius under continuous nickel stress显示文摘The artificial diets mixed with various concentrations of nickel were offered to the larvae of the phytophagous insect Spodoptera litura Fabricius for 3 generations. Nickel accumulations in the 6th instar larvae, pupae and newly emerged adults of the corresponding generations of S. litura were investigated by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-AES), and the effects of nickel accumulations on the survival rate of S. litura were also evaluated by individual rearing. The results showed that nickel accumulated in the 6th instar larvae, pupae and adults of S. litura, and the accu- mulated nickel in all the tested developmental stages within a generation increased with the increase of the nickel doses in the treated diets and showed significant dose-dependent relationship with the nickel doses in the artificial diets. The results also indicated that the nickel accumulations in the 6th instar larvae, pupae, and newly emerged adults from the 3rd generation were higher than those from the 2nd generation, which were also higher than those from the 1st generation. Nickel concentrations in pupae and adults were significantly lower than those in larvae, which indicated that the excessive nickel might be excreted during metamorphosis. 2Effects of dietary nickel on detoxification enzyme activities in the midgut of Spodoptera litura Fabricius larvae显示文摘Nickel accumulated in midugt of Spodoptera litura Fabricius could induce the expression of metal-lothionein,one of the most important detoxification proteins in organisms.In the present study,the effects of dietary nickel on the activities of detoxification enzymes,such as carboxylesterase(CarE) and glutathione S-transferase(GST) in the midgut of S.litura larvae have been studied to get an un-derstanding of the detoxification mechanisms of S.litura larvae to excessive nickel.Results showed that CarE activities in the midgut of the 5th instar larvae decreased at lower levels of nickel(≤5 mg/kg),while increased with increasing nickel doses at higher levels of nickel(≥10 mg/kg) exposure in suc-cessive 3 generations.CarE activities of the 6th instar larvae were also characterized as inhibited at low levels of nickel exposure,and improved at higher levels in the 1st generation.CarE activities of 6th instar larvae in the 2nd and 3rd generations were all lower than that in control.However,GST activities in the midgut of the 5th and 6th instar larvae all increased with increasing nickel doses(1―20 mg/kg) in diets.SUN HongXia ZHOU Qiang TANG WenCheng SHU YingHua ZHANG GuRen 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,21:5
3Metallothionein expression induced by nickel accumulation in the midgut of Spodoptera litura Fabricius larvae exposed to nickel显示文摘Metallothionein expression induced by nickel accumulation in the midgut of Spodoptera litura Fabri- cius larvae was investigated by exposing S. litura larvae to the artificial diets amended with different doses of nickel for 3 generations. Nickel accumulations in the midgut of 6th instar larvae were detected by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-AES), and the induced metal- lothionein expression in the midgut of 5th and 6th instar larvae in 120 h were quantified using cad- mium-hemoglobin total saturation methods. The accumulated nickel in the midgut of the 6th instar larvae within a generation increased with the increase of the nickel doses in the treated diets and showed significant dose-dependence with the nickel doses in diets. Metallothioneins induced by nickel accumulated in the larval midgut also increased with nickel doses in diets and with the increasing stressing time in a generation. 4Effects of dietary nickel on apoptosis of hemocytes of Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) larvae显示文摘Effects of dietary nickel on apoptosis of hemocytes of the 6th instar larvae of Spodoptera litura Fabricius were evaluated using flow cytometry and Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy (LSCM) by feeding S. litura larvae with artificial diets amended with different concentrations of nickel (1, 5, 10, 20 and 40 mg/kg) for 3 generations. Results showed that the hemocyte apoptosis rate of the 1st generation larvae increased with the increasing nickel concentrations in diet, and the apoptosis rate in the treatment with 40 mg/kg nickel was significantly higher than that in other treatments. In the 2nd generation, the highest hemocytes apoptosis rate was recorded in the treatment of the larvae exposed to 5 mg/kg nickel. The apoptosis rates in the larvae stressed by higher concentrations of nickel were lower than that in control. The apoptosis rates in the larvae exposed to nickel for 3 generations showed similar concentration-responses with that in the 2nd generation. However, the apoptosis rates in the larvae stressed with higher levels of nickel were all significantly inhibited in comparison with that in control. 5Identification of various food residuals on denim based on hyperspectral imaging system and combination optimal strategy显示文摘As the science and technology develop,crime methods and scenes have become increasingly complex and diverse.Trace evidence analysis has become amore and more important criminal investigation technology and liquid is the main form of trace evidence.Food can provide not only energy,but clues to solve crimes.In this study,we build a hyperspectral imaging system to detect liquid residue traces,including apple juice,coffee,cola,milk and tea,on denims with light,middle and dark colors.The obtained hyperspectral images are first subjected to spectral calibration and hyperspectral data pretreatment.Subsequently,Partial Least Squares(PLS)is applied to select the informative wavelengths from the preprocessed spectra.For modeling phase,the combination optimal strategy,support vector machine(SVM)combined with random forest(RF),is developed to establish classification models.The experimental results demonstrate that the combination optimal model can achieve TPR,FPR,Precision,Recall,F1,and AUC of 83.5%,2.30%,79.7%,83.5%,81.6%,and 94.7%for classifying fabrics contaminated by various food residuals.With respect to the classification of liquid and fabric types,the combination optimalmodel also yields satisfactory classification performance.In future work,wewill expand the types of liquid,and make appropriate adjustment to algorithms for improving the robustness of classification models.This research may play a positive role in the construction of a harmonious society.Yuzhen Chen Ziyi Xu Wencheng Tang Menghan Hu Douning Tang Guangtao Zhai Qingli Li 2021Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2021,,1:2
6Low intensity near-infrared light promotes bone regeneration via circadian clock protein cryptochrome 1显示文摘Bone regeneration remains a great clinical challenge. Low intensity near-infrared(NIR) light showed strong potential to promote tissue regeneration, offering a promising strategy for bone defect regeneration. However, the effect and underlying mechanism of NIR on bone regeneration remain unclear. We demonstrated that bone regeneration in the rat skull defect model was significantly accelerated with low-intensity NIR stimulation. In vitro studies showed that NIR stimulation could promote the osteoblast differentiation in bone mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) and MC3T3-E1 cells, which was associated with increased ubiquitination of the core circadian clock protein Cryptochrome 1(CRY1) in the nucleus. We found that the reduction of CRY1 induced by NIR light activated the bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) signaling pathways, promoting SMAD1/5/9 phosphorylation and increasing the expression levels of Runx2 and Osterix. NIR light treatment may act through sodium voltage-gated channel Scn4a, which may be a potential responder of NIR light to accelerate bone regeneration. 11Schistosomiasis Surveillance--China,2015−2018显示文摘Background The prevalence of schistosomiasis in China is at the lowest level in history,and sentinel surveillance sites of schistosomiasis have fully covered all epidemic areas of China.This article has analyzed the surveillance data for the last four years and can help guide the next stage of surveillance work at the national level,including the scope of surveillance,surveillance content,and surveillance methods,etc.Methods Data from the National Schistosomiasis Surveillance System were collected.The infection rate of schistosomiasis among the human population,livestock,snails,and the change of the breeding area of snails in sentinel surveillance sites for four consecutive years were analyzed,and the trends in schistosomiasis prevalence in surveillance sites were determined.Results The prevalence of schistosomiasis in all sentinel surveillance sites of China showed downward trends from 2015 to 2018 with infection rates decreasing in this time period for local human population(0.05%to 0.00%),the floating population(0.020% to 0.003%),and cattle(0.037% to 0.000%).No infected snails were found during the period.From 2015 to 2018,the total area of newly found habitats of snails(Oncomelania hupensis,O.hupensis)were 34,730 m^(2),1,367,694 m^(2),18,944 m^(2),and 50,420 m^(2),and the total area of re-emergent habitats of snails(O.hupensis)were 822,194 m^(2),1,391,779 m^(2),1,516,292 m^(2),and 1,750,558 m^(2),respectively.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice The prevalence of schistosomiasis in human and livestock is going down and is sustained at a very low level,but new and re-emerging habitats of O.hupensis are new challenges regardless of the achievement of schistosomiasis control.Therefore,two actions are necessary to effectively further reduce the transmission risk of schistosomiasis:1)taking effective measures to control the source of infection of schistosomiasis;and 2)reducing the breeding areas of O.hupensis.Yinlong Li Hui Dang Lijuan Zhang Guangping Li Xiaowei Shan Min Yuan Songjun Ding Yun Feng Meifen Shen Jia Xu Yanjun Jin Haijuan Du Wencheng Lu Wenqian Tang Dianwei Jiang Yi Yuan Shan Lyu Shizhu Li Xiao-nong Zhou 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,3:0
