| 1 | Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Effectively Alleviates Arrhythmias in Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea:Possible Relationship with Counteracting Oxidative Stress显示文摘This work is aimed at exploring the clinical efficacy of continuous positive airway pressuie(CPAP)in treatment of patients with arrhythmias combined with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA).Through evaluating serum native thiol,malonaldehyde(MDA)and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase(NADPH oxidase)in these patients and describing the effects on oxidative parameters of CPAP therapy for 3 months,we confirmed the impact of oxidative stress on arrhythmias.A total of 64 patients with OSA combined with arrhythmias were collected from April 2014 to April 2017 with full clinical information.Patients were divided into two groups(paired experiment design):32 patients in group A(control group),who received unchanged anti-arrhythmia treatment and 32 patients in group B,who were subjected to unchanged pharmacological anti-arrhythmia therapy combined with CPAP.OSA related parameters were compared between the two groups after 3-month therapy.And the levels of parameters of oxidative stress in patients were measured before and after CPAP therapy.After 3 months of CPAP therapy,compared with the control group,the percentage of sage N3(NREM 3)and stage R(REM)in total sleep time was significantly increased,while apnea-hypopnea index(AHI)and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)score were evidently decreased.Meanwhile,the lowest oxygen saturation(LSpCh)was also elevated after CPAP treatment for 3 months.The CPAP therapy significantly prevented the occurrence of arrhythmias(P<0.05).Both the MDA level and NADPH oxidase levels were significantly lower in the group B than in the group A(P<0.05).But serum native thiol was improved by CPAP treatment(P<0.05).In conclusion,proper use of CPAP therapy provides significant benefits for the treatment of arrhythmia in patients with OSA. | Xiao-ting WANG Gang ZHAO Ling TU Zhi-yong YUE Zhen-hua LIU Jie HAN Kun GAO Xuan-chen ZHOU Shuai XU Jian-feng LI | 2019 | Current Medical Science2019,39,1: | 10 |

| 3 | Litterfall,Litter Decomposition,and Nutrient Dynamics in Two Subtropical Bamboo Plantations of China显示文摘Bamboos are one of the fast-growing and multiple use species in the world,and thus bamboo forests/plantations play an important role in C sequestration at regional and global levels.We studied aboveground litterfall,litter decomposition and nutrient dynamics for two years in two subtropical bamboo ecosystems in Southwest China so as to test the hypothesis that litter quality determine the rate and nutrient dynamics during decomposition of different litter fractions.Mean annual total aboveground litter production ranged from 494 to 434 g m^(-2)in two bamboo stands(P stand,dominated by Pleioblastus amarus and H stand,hybrid bamboo dominated by Bambusa pervariabilis x Dendrocalamopsis daii).Bulk(~80%)of litter production was contributed by leaf litter in two stands followed by twigs and sheathes.Different litter fractions represented considerable variations in the rates of mass loss and nutrient release.Variation of the mass remaining after 2 years of decomposition was significantly explained by initial C/N ratio and initial P concentration.Initial concentrations of N,P,Ca,and Mg explained 57.9%,95.0%,99.8%and 98.1%,respectively,of the variations of these elements mass remaining after 2 years of decomposition.The patterns of nutrient dynamics and the final amount remaining were mainly determined by their initial litter substrate quality in these two subtropical bamboo plantations. | TU Li-Hua HU Hong-Ling HU Ting-Xing ZHANG Jian LI Xian-Wei LIU Li XIAO Yin-Long CHEN Gang LI Ren-Hong | 2014 | Pedosphere2014,24,1: | 8 |
| 4 | Detection and characterization of diverse alpha-and betacoronaviruses from bats in China显示文摘Bats have been implicated as important reservoir hosts of alpha- and betacoronaviruses. In this study, diverse coronaviruses(CoVs) were detected in 50 of 951(positive rate 5.3%) intestinal specimens of eight bat species collected in four provinces and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China by pan-coronavirus RT-PCR screening. Based on 400-nt RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(Rd RP) sequence analysis, eight belonged to genus Alphacoronavirus and 42 to Betacoronavirus.Among the 50 positive specimens, thirteen gave rise to CoV full-length Rd RP gene amplification for further sequence comparison, of which three divergent sequences(two from a unreported province) were subjected to full genome sequencing. Two complete genomes of betacoronaviruses(JTMC15 and JPDB144) and one nearly-complete genome of alphacoronavirus(JTAC2) were sequenced and their genomic organization predicted. The present study has identified additional numbers of genetically diverse bat-borne coronaviruses with a wide distribution in China. | 5 | Dynamic High Pressure Micro-fluidization Effects on Structure and Physico-chemical Properties of Egg White Protein显示文摘The authors dealt with the effects of dynamic high pressure micro-fluidization(untreated and 20―160 MPa treated) on the structure and physico-chemical properties of egg white solutions[6%(mass fraction) or 61.2 mg protein/mL]. Micro-fluidization treatment resulted in a decrease in mean particle size,and little change in solubility. It was found that the residual denaturation enthalpy was decreased with the increase of pressure from 20 to 100 MPa and from 120 to 160 MPa,reaching into the maximum at 160 MPa. There was an increase of surface hydrophobicity with the maximum at 100 MPa observed. | 8 | A Single-legged Robot Inspired by the Jumping Mechanism of Click Beetles and Its Hopping Dynamics Analysis显示文摘The click beetle can jump up with a hinge when it is on the dorsal side.This jumping mechanism is simple and suitable as an inspiration for designing a simple,small,and reliable hopping robot.We report a single-legged robot inspired by the jumping mechanism of click beetles.It is 85 mm high,60 mm long,and 41 mm wide,and weighs about 49 g.The robot has good hopping performance that the hopping height is about 4 times-4.3 times of its body height.It is capable for rescue missions that require to enter enclosed spaces through cracks and narrow channels.In addition,hopping dynamics of the robot is important to understand its jumping mechanism and improve the robot’s hopping performance.But existing dynamic study does not complete the analysis including all stages in the hopping which are pre-hopping,take-off,and air-flying.We propose the decomposition method to study dynamics of the three stages separately,and synthesize them with related parameters.The dynamic synthesis of multi-motion states in a hopping cycle of the single-legged hopping robot is implemented.The hopping performance and dynamic synthesis theory of the robot are verified by simulations and experiments.Our study helps lay the foundation for design and hopping control of simple hopping robot systems. | Gang Chen Jiajun Tu Xiaocong Ti Huosheng Hu | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,6: | 2 |

| 11 | Soil-nitrogen net mineralization increased after nearly six years of continuous nitrogen additions in a subtropical bamboo ecosystem显示文摘In order to understand the effects of increasing atmospheric nitrogen(N) deposition on the subtropical bamboo ecosystem, a nearly six-year field experiment was conducted in a Pleioblastus amarus plantation in the rainy region of SW China, near the western edge of Sichuan Basin. Four N treatment levels—control(no N added), lowN(50 kg N ha-1a-1), medium-N(150 kg N ha-1a-1),and high-N(300 kg N ha-1a-1)—were applied monthly in the P. amarus plantation starting in November 2007. In June 2012, we collected intact soil cores in the bamboo plantation and conducted a 30-day laboratory incubation experiment. The results showed that the soil N net mineralization rate was 0.96 ± 0.10 mg N kg-1day-1, under control treatment. N additions stimulated the soil N net mineralization, and the high-N treatment significantly increased the soil N net mineralization rate compared with the control. Moreover, the soil N net mineralization rate was significantly and positively correlated with the fine root biomass, the soil microbial biomass nitrogen content and the soil initial inorganic N content, respectively,whereas it was negatively correlated with the soil p H value.There were no significant relationships between the soil N net mineralization rate and the soil total nitrogen(TN)content and the soil total organic carbon content and the soil C/N ratio and the soil microbial biomass carbon content, respectively.
