| 1 | Albedo of Coastal Landfast Sea Ice in Prydz Bay,Antarctica:Observations and Parameterization显示文摘The snow/sea-ice albedo was measured over coastal landfast sea ice in Prydz Bay, East Antarctica(off Zhongshan Station)during the austral spring and summer of 2010 and 2011. The variation of the observed albedo was a combination of a gradual seasonal transition from spring to summer and abrupt changes resulting from synoptic events, including snowfall, blowing snow, and overcast skies. The measured albedo ranged from 0.94 over thick fresh snow to 0.36 over melting sea ice. It was found that snow thickness was the most important factor influencing the albedo variation, while synoptic events and overcast skies could increase the albedo by about 0.18 and 0.06, respectively. The in-situ measured albedo and related physical parameters(e.g., snow thickness, ice thickness, surface temperature, and air temperature) were then used to evaluate four different snow/ice albedo parameterizations used in a variety of climate models. The parameterized albedos showed substantial discrepancies compared to the observed albedo, particularly during the summer melt period, even though more complex parameterizations yielded more realistic variations than simple ones. A modified parameterization was developed,which further considered synoptic events, cloud cover, and the local landfast sea-ice surface characteristics. | 2 | IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON TROPICAL CYCLONES IN THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC BASIN. PART Ⅱ: LATE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY PROJECTIONS显示文摘This paper reviews the latest studies on the relationship between projected late 21 st century climate changes and tropical cyclone(TC) activity in the western North Pacific(WNP) basin, which is the region of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific(ESCAP)/World Meteorological Organization(WMO) Typhoon Committee members. Existing studies of projected changes of TC activity in this basin, such as frequency, intensity, precipitation, genesis location and track pattern are summarized, based on an assumed A1 B future climate change scenario. A review of available studies on projected future changes in WNP landfalling TC activity is also included.While it remains uncertain whether there has been any detectable human influence on tropical cyclone frequency, intensity, precipitation, track, or related aggregated storm activity metrics in the basin, modeling studies suggest changes in future tropical cyclone activity for the WNP basin. | 3 | Gender Differences in the Prevalence of Overweight and Obesity,Associated Behaviors,and Weight-related Perceptions in a National Survey of Primary School Children in China显示文摘Objective To in vestigate potential gender differences in the odds of overweight/obese,weight-related perceptions,and behaviors among Chinese school children.Methods Height,weight,and a survey of weight-related perceptions and behaviors were measured in a nationally representative survey of 12,811 children in primary schools in China.Logistic regression analyses were used to assess gender differences,adjusting for confounders.Results Boys had higher odds of being overweight/obese compared to girls within both urban [adjusted odds ratio(OR) 2.30,95% CI 2.00 to 2.65] and rural areas(OR = 1.85,95% CI 1.55 to 2.20).Girls reported healthier diets(e.g.,daily vegetables OR = 0.79,95% CI 0.73 to 0.85) whereas boys consumed fried food(OR = 1.21,95% CI 1.06 to 1.38) and sugar-sweetened drinks more often(OR = 1.49,95% CI 1.34 to 1.65).Gender differences included higher odds of boys perceiving themselves as overweight if they had more highly educated mothers(OR = 1.35,95% CI 1.09 to 1.68),less educated fathers(OR = 0.79,95% CI 0.63 to 0.99),and if they frequently consumed carbonated drinks(OR = 1.48,95% CI 1.07 to 2.05).Conclusion Childhood obesity prevention in China should be gender-focused,particularly for boys who reported an unhealthier diet but were less likely to see they were fat,even though more boys were overweight or obese than girls. | ZHANG Juan ZHAI Yi FENG Xiao Qi LI Wei Rong LYU Yue Bin ASTELL-BURT Thomas ZHAO Peng Yu SHI Xiao Ming | 2018 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2018，31，1： | 3 |

| 5 | Validation of Stressors in Nursing Students Scale-Chinese Version (SINS-CN) in a Population of Macao Nursing Students显示文摘Objective:To validate the Stressors in Nursing Students Scale-Chinese Version(SINS-CN) in a population of Macao nursing students.Methods:A methodological study was designed with 2 phases.In phase 1,a three-expert panel was invited to evaluate the content validity of SINS-CN,and then its test-retest reliability was examined over a 2-week interval.In phase 2,211 undergraduate nursing students were recruited,and203 valid responses to the questionnaire were obtained.A principal component analysis with varimax rotation was applied to validate the structure of the instrument.Results:The content validity index(CVI) was 0.89.The correlation coefficient of the test-retest reliability was 0.82 for the overall instrument and 0.70-0.88 for the instruments sub-dimensions.Based on the 43 items of the instrument five components were identified and accounted for 60.28%of the variance with eigenvalues ranging from 1.32 to 10.18.The factor loadings were 0.42-0.79.The internal consistency reliability of Cronbachs α was 0.96 for the overall scale and 0.67-0.94 for its sub-dimensions.Conclusion:The study findings indicated that SINS-CN had acceptable psychometric properties in terms of content validity,stability and internal consistency reliability.The principal component analysis generated a 5-component structure with 43 items;this was slightly different from the original structure but was more applicable to the studied population,which suggests that this instrument has cross-cultural sensitivity. | Ming Liu Qin Gu Thomas K.S.Wong Roger Watson | 2014 | Chinese Nursing Research2014，1，1： | 3 |

| 8 | Perceived stress among Macao nursing students in the clinical learning environment显示文摘Objective:This study aimed at investigation of the stress perceived by Macao nursing students in the clinical learning environment.Methods:A cross-sectional research was designed and 203 nursing students in a public higher education institute were recruited.The Stressors in Nursing Students Scale-Chinese Version(SINS-CN)was used to measure nursing students'stress.Data analysis includes descriptive analysis and analysis of variance.Results:The overall SINS-CN mean score was 3.33(SD=0.49),while the scores for different dimensions were:clinical,3.44(SD=0.54),education,3.35(SD=0.62),finance and time,3.31(SD=0.72),confidence,3.21(SD=0.60),and personal problems,3.03(SD=0.68).Among 10 most common stressors,four belong to the clinical dimension,four to the education dimension,one to the confidence dimension,and one to the finance&time dimension.Analysis for factors associated with stress indicated that no statistical significance was found in most demographic variables,except year two students'stress scores were significantly lower than those of students in other years(p values were between 0.000 and 0.026).Conclusions:Macao nursing students,to some extent,experienced stress in clinical learning environment and the stress level was higher than that of Hong Kong nursing students.The most common stressors were related to clinical and educational dimensions.The study suggests that teaching and learning modalities and the workload of nursing students should be reviewed. | Ming Liu Ken Gu Thomas K.S.Wong Min Z.Luo Men Y.Chan | 2015 | International Journal of Nursing Sciences2015，2，2： | 1 |
