1VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids anchored onto graphene sheets as the cathode material for ultrahigh capacity aqueous zinc ion batteries显示文摘Aqueous Zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs),using zinc negative electrode and aqueous electrolyte,have attracted great attention in energy storage field due to the reliable safety and low-cost.A composite material comprised of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids anchored on graphene sheets(VOG)is synthesized through a facile and efficient microwave-assisted solvothermal strategy and is used as aqueous ZIBs cathode material.Owing to the synergistic effects between the high conductivity of graphene sheets and the desirable structural features of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids,the VOG electrode has excellent electronic and ionic transport ability,resulting in superior Zn ions storage performance.The Zn/VOG system delivers ultrahigh specific capacity of 423 mAh·g^−1 at 0.25 A·g^−1 and exhibits good cycling stability of up to 1,000 cycles at 8 A·g^−1 with 87%capacity retention.Systematical structural and elemental characterizations confirm that the interlayer space of VO2·0.2H2O nanocuboids can adapt to the reversible Zn ions insertion/extraction.The as-prepared VOG composite is a promising cathode material with remarkable electrochemical performance for low-cost and safe aqueous rechargeable ZIBs.Dedong Jia Kun Zheng Ming Song Hua Tan Aitang Zhang Lihua Wang Lijun Yue Da Li Chenwei Li Jingquan Liu 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:6
2Construction of a small-caliber tissue-engineered blood vessel using icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate for in situ anticoagulation and endothelialization显示文摘The rapid endothelialization of tissue-engineered blood vessels(TEBVs) can effectively prevent thrombosis and inhibit intimal hyperplasia. The traditional Chinese medicine ingredient icariin is highly promising for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.β-cyclodextrin sulfate is a type of hollow molecule that has good biocompatibility and anticoagulation properties and exhibits a sustained release of icariin. We studied whether icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate can promote the endothelialization of TEBVs. The experimental results showed that icariin could significantly promote the proliferation and migration of endothelial progenitor cells; at the same time, icariin could promote the migration of rat vascular endothelial cells(RAVECs). Subsequently,we used an electrostatic force to modify the surface of the TEBVs with icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate, and these vessels were implanted into the rat common carotid artery. After 3 months, micro-CT results showed that the TEBVs modified using icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate had a greater patency rate. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and CD31 immunofluorescence results showed a better degree of endothelialization. 3Ice-templated porous tungsten and tungsten carbide inspired by natural wood显示文摘The structures of tungsten and tungsten carbide scaffolds play a key role in determining the properties of their infiltrated composites for multifunctional applications.However,it is challenging to construct and control the architectures by means of self-assembly in W/WC systems because of their large densities.Here we present the development of unidirectionally porous architectures,with high porosities exceeding 65 vol.%,for W and WC scaffolds which in many respects reproduce the design motif of natural wood using a direct ice-templating technique.This was achieved by adjusting the viscosities of suspensions to retard sedimentation during freezing.The processing,structural characteristics and mechanical properties of the resulting scaffolds were investigated with the correlations between them explored.Quantitative relationships were established to describe their strengths based on the mechanics of cellular solids by taking into account both inter-and intra-lamellar pores.The fracture mechanisms were also identified,especially in light of the porosity.This study extends the effectiveness of the ice-templating technique for systems with large densities or particle sizes.It further provides preforms for developing new natureinspired multifunctional materials,as represented by W/WC-Cu composites.Yuan Zhang Guoqi Tan Da Jiao Jian Zhang Shaogang Wang Feng Liu Zengqian Liu Longchao Zhuo Zhefeng Zhang Sylvain Deville Robert O.Ritchie 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,10:4

10Bioinspired tungsten-copper composites with Bouligand-type architectures mimicking fish scales显示文摘The microscopic Bouligand-type architectures of fish scales demonstrate a notable efficiency in enhancing the damage tolerance of materials;nevertheless,it is challenging to reproduce in metals.Here bioinspired tungsten-copper composites with different Bouligand-type architectures mimicking fish scales were fabricated by infiltrating a copper melt into woven contextures of tungsten fibers.These composites exhibit a synergetic enhancement in both strength and ductility at room temperature along with an improved resistance to high-temperature oxidization.The strengths were interpreted by adapting the classical laminate theory to incorporate the characteristics of Bouligand-type architectures.In particular,under load the tungsten fibers can reorient adaptively within the copper matrix by their straightening,stretching,interfacial sliding with the matrix,and the cooperative kinking deformation of fiber grids,representing a successful implementation of the optimizing mechanisms of the Bouligand-type architectures to enhance strength and toughness.This study may serve to promote the development of new high-performance tungsten-copper composites for applications,e.g.,as electrical contacts or heat sinks,and offer a viable approach for constructing bioinspired architectures in metallic materials.Yuan Zhang Guoqi Tan Mingyang Zhang Qin Yu Zengqian Liu Yanyan Liu Jian Zhang Da Jiao Faheng Wang Longchao Zhuo Zhefeng Zhang Robert O.Ritchie 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,1:3
11Engineering hiPSC-CM and hiPSC-EC laden 3D nanofibrous splenic hydrogel for improving cardiac function through revascularization and remuscularization in infarcted heart显示文摘Cell therapy has been a promising strategy for cardiac repair after myocardial infarction(MI),but a poor ischemic environment and low cell delivery efficiency remain significant challenges.The spleen serves as a hematopoietic stem cell niche and secretes cardioprotective factors after MI,but it is unclear whether it could be used for human pluripotent stem cell(hiPSC)cultivation and provide a proper microenvironment for cell grafts against the ischemic environment.Herein,we developed a splenic extracellular matrix derived thermoresponsive hydrogel(SpGel).Proteomics analysis indicated that SpGel is enriched with proteins known to modulate the Wnt signaling pathway,cell-substrate adhesion,cardiac muscle contraction and oxidation-reduction processes.In vitro studies demonstrated that hiPSCs could be efficiently induced into endothelial cells(iECs)and cardiomyocytes(iCMs)with enhanced function on SpGel.The cytoprotective effect of SpGel on iECs/iCMs against oxidative stress damage was also proven.Furthermore,in vivo studies revealed that iEC/iCM-laden SpGel improved cardiac function and inhibited cardiac fibrosis of infarcted hearts by improving cell survival,revascularization and remuscularization.In conclusion,we successfully established a novel platform for the efficient generation and delivery of autologous cell grafts,which could be a promising clinical therapeutic strategy for cardiac repair and regeneration after MI.Ge Guan Da Huo Yanzhao Li Xiaolin Zhao Yinghao Li Zhongliang Qin Dayu Sun Guanyuan Yang Mingcan Yang Ju Tan Wen Zeng Chuhong Zhu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:2
