1Anti-inflammatory and Antimicrobial Effects of Anthocyanin Extracted from Black Soybean on Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis Rat Model显示文摘Objective: To investigated the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects of anthocyanins extracted from black soybean on the chronic bacterial prostatitis(CBP) rat model.Methods: The SpragueDawley rats were divided into 4 groups,including control,ciprofloxacin,anthocyanins and anthocyanins with ciprofloxacin groups(n=8 in each group).Then,drip infusion of bacterial suspension(Escherichia coli Z17O_2:K_1:H^-) into Sprague-Dawley rats was conducted to induce CBP.In 4 weeks,results of prostate tissue,urine culture,and histological analysis on the prostate were analyzed for each group.Results: The use of ciprofloxacin,anthocyanins,and anthocyanins with ciprofloxacin showed statistically significant decreases in bacterial growth and improvements in the reduction of prostatic inflammation compared with the control group(P<0.05).The anthocyanins with ciprofloxacin group showed a statistically significant decrease in bacterial growth and improvement in prostatic inflammation compared with the ciprofloxacin group(P<0.05).Conclusions: These results suggest that anthocyanins may have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects,as well as a synergistic effect with ciprofloxacin.Therefore,we suggest that the combination of anthocyanins and ciprofloxacin may be effective in treating CBP to obtain a higher rate of treatment success.Byung Il Yoon Woong Jin Bae Yong Sun Choi Su Jin Kim U Syn Ha Sung-Hoo Hong Dong Wan Sohn Sae Woong Kim 2018Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2018,24,8:11
2Rational use of mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders显示文摘Autism and autism spectrum disorders(ASD) refer to a range of conditions characterized by impaired social and communication skills and repetitive behaviors caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences. Although the pathophysiology underlying ASD is still unclear, recent evidence suggests that immune dysregulation and neuroinflammation play a role in the etiology of ASD. In particular, there is direct evidence supporting a role for maternal immune activation during prenatal life in neurodevelopmental conditions. Currently, the available options of behavioral therapies and pharmacological and supportive nutritional treatments in ASD are only symptomatic. Given the disturbing rise in the incidence of ASD, and the fact that there is no effective pharmacological therapy for ASD, there is an urgent need for new therapeutic options. Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) possess immunomodulatory properties that make them relevant to several diseases associated with inflammation and tissue damage. The paracrine regenerative mechanisms of MSCs are also suggested to be therapeutically beneficial for ASD.Thus the underlying pathology in ASD, including immune system dysregulation and inflammation, represent potential targets for MSC therapy. 3Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 5CLINICAL AND GENETIC ANALYSIS OF THREE FAMILIES WITH FAMILIAR AMYLOID POLYNEUROPATHY显示文摘Objective To study the clinical and genetic features of familiar amyloid polyneuropathy (FAP). Methods Three families of suspected FAP in China mainland and Macao were investigated on aspects of clinical manifestations, histological features, and gene analysis. Results All the 3 families had the clinical features of sensory and motor polyneuropathies, and notable vegetative nerve involvements. Affected cases of one family had ultrasound proved cardiomyopathy. Histological studies showed amyloid deposition in all the biopsy tissues of the affected cases of the 3 families, and anti-transthyretin antisera staining was positive in 3 cases of one family. Gene analysis confirmed that mutation types were amyloidogenic transthyretin (ATTR) Val30Met, Phe33Val, and Gly67Glu in the 3 families respectively. The ATTR Gly67Glu family had a shorter survival time due to the heart involvement compared with the other 2 families.
