2Climate effects of the GlobeLand30 land cover dataset on the Beijing Climate Center climate model simulations显示文摘Land cover is one of the most basic input elements of land surface and climate models. Currently, the direct and indirect effects of land cover data on climate and climate change are receiving increasing attentions. In this study, a high resolution(30 m) global land cover dataset(Globe Land30) produced by Chinese scientists was, for the first time, used in the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model(BCC_CSM) to assess the influences of land cover dataset on land surface and climate simulations. A two-step strategy was designed to use the Globe Land30 data in the model. First, the Globe Land30 data were merged with other satellite remote sensing and climate datasets to regenerate plant functional type(PFT) data fitted for the BCC_CSM. Second, the up-scaling based on an area-weighted approach was used to aggregate the fine-resolution Globe Land30 land cover type and area percentage with the coarser model grid resolutions globally. The Globe Land30-based and the BCC_CSM-based land cover data had generally consistent spatial distribution features, but there were some differences between them. The simulation results of the different land cover type dataset change experiments showed that effects of the new PFT data were larger than those of the new glaciers and water bodies(lakes and wetlands). The maximum value was attained when dataset of all land cover types were changed. The positive bias of precipitation in the mid-high latitude of the northern hemisphere and the negative bias in the Amazon, as well as the negative bias of air temperature in part of the southern hemisphere, were reduced when the Globe Land30-based data were used in the BCC_CSM atmosphere model. 3A Strategy for Merging Objective Estimates of Global Daily Precipitation from Gauge Observations, Satellite Estimates, and Numerical Predictions显示文摘This paper describes a strategy for merging daily precipitation information from gauge observations, satellite estimates(SEs), and numerical predictions at the global scale. The strategy is designed to remove systemic bias and random error from each individual daily precipitation source to produce a better gridded global daily precipitation product through three steps.First, a cumulative distribution function matching procedure is performed to remove systemic bias over gauge-located land areas. Then, the overall biases in SEs and model predictions(MPs) over ocean areas are corrected using a rescaled strategy based on monthly precipitation. Third, an optimal interpolation(OI)–based merging scheme(referred as the HL-OI scheme)is used to combine unbiased gauge observations, SEs, and MPs to reduce random error from each source and to produce a gauge—satellite–model merged daily precipitation analysis, called BMEP-d(Beijing Climate Center Merged Estimation of Precipitation with daily resolution), with complete global coverage. The BMEP-d data from a four-year period(2011–14) demonstrate the ability of the merging strategy to provide global daily precipitation of substantially improved quality.Benefiting from the advantages of the HL-OI scheme for quantitative error estimates, the better source data can obtain more weights during the merging processes. The BMEP-d data exhibit higher consistency with satellite and gauge source data at middle and low latitudes, and with model source data at high latitudes. 6Ion flux dropout observed near dipolarization front显示文摘An ion flux dropout near the dipolarization front(DF) at around XGSM=-11 REin the Earth's plasma sheet was observed by Time History of Events and Macroscale Interaction during substorms(THEMIS) on March31, 2009. The ion differential energy fluxes at energies from 450 e V to 150 ke V measured by the ESA and SST instruments from THC began to decrease about 2 s before the detection of the DF and reached a local minimum 6 s later. Then, the ion fluxes gradually increased to form a dropout around the DF. The spatial extent of the dropout was about 4,000 km. For energies above 20 ke V, the ion fluxes after the dropout are greater than those before it,contrary to the fluxes at energies below 20 ke V. The associated ion density variation indicates that the ion flux dropout coincides with the ion density dropout. Taking advantage of multipoint observations, THD, THC, and THE detected the same DF consecutively. Only THC detected an obvious ion flux dropout; THD observed an indistinct one about 2 s before THC; no high-energy(E [ 30 ke V) ion flux dropout was observed by THE. 8Characterizing the maturity of highly evolved organic matter based on aromatic hydrocarbons and optimization with pyrobitumen reflectance and Raman spectral parameters显示文摘Maturity evaluation of highly evolved organic matter is an important problem in oil and gas geochemistry,because conventional organic geochemical proxies are not applicable due to hydrocarbon generation and expulsion.In this study,we investigated the pyrobitumen in the reservoirs of the Sinian Dengying Formation in the Sichuan Basin,China.We focused on aromatic hydrocarbon biomarkers,and the calibration and application of aromatic maturity proxies using pyrobitumen reflectance and Raman spectral parameters.Our results show that only the thiophene compounds are effective maturity indicators,such as MDR(4-/1-MDBT),MDR′(4-MDBT/(1-MDBT+4-MDBT)),MDR1(1-MDBT/DBT),4,6-/(1,4+1,6)-DMDBT,(2,6+3,6)-/(1,4+1,6)-DMDBT,and[2,1]BNT/([2,1]BNT+[1,2]BNT),as these are largely independent of the optical anisotropy of pyrobitumen.The condensation and incorporation of thiophene compounds can lead to an increase in the reflectance of pyrobitumen,which means the thiophene compound parameters are positively or negatively correlated with pyrobitumen reflectance.New potential maturity parameters were proposed,including DMDBTs/MDBTs,TeMDBTs/(DBT+MDBTs+DMDBTs+TMDBTs+TeMDBTs),1-MDBT/MDBTs,and[2,1]BNT/BNTs.This method and these parameters are universally applicable to maturity characterization,especially in rocks that lack vitrinite,contain strongly anisotropic organic matter,and have high contents of thiophene compounds.Zhaoxi ZUO Jian CAO Wenxuan HU Chunhua SHI Xiaolin WANG Suping YAO Bing LUO 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,12:0
9Group classification of mixed oils in central Junggar Basin,Northwest China and their migration显示文摘The produced oils in central Junggar Basin are commonly mixed in origin.In this paper,in order to reveal this complexity and thereby provide valuable clues to the study of oil source and formation mechanism,genetic groups of the mixed oils were classified and their migration/accumulation was investigated.Based on the artificial oil mixing experiments,some representative biomarkers of the mixed oils showed varying tendencies according to mixing ratios of the oils.Hence,these biomarkers are useful for determining the origin of the mixed oils.According to the criteria,oils in the area were divided into four basic groups,i.e.,the Lower Permian Fengcheng oil,the Middle Permian Lower Wuerhe oil,the Jurassic source derived oil,and the mixed oil(including the Lower and Middle Permian mixed oil and the Permian and Jurassic mixed oil).Oil migration and accumulation were discussed in combination with the geological background.WANG Xulong SHI Xinpu CAO Jian LAN Wenfang TAO Guoliang HU Wenxuan YAO Suping 2010Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2010,29,4:0
