| 1 | GRAIN INCOMPLETE FILLING 2 regulates grain filling and starch synthesis during rice caryopsis development显示文摘Rice grain filling determines grain weight,final yield and grain quality.Here,a rice defective grain filling mutant,gif2,was identified.Grains of gif2 showed a slower filling rate and a significant lower final grain weight and yield compared to wild-type.The starch content in gif2 was noticeably decreased and its physicochemical properties were also altered.Moreover,gif2 endosperm cells showed obvious defects in compound granule formation.Positional cloning identified GIF2 to encode an ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase(AGP) large subunit,AGPL2;consequently,AGP enzyme activity in gif2 endosperms was remarkably decreased.GIF2 is mainly expressed in developing grains and the coded protein localizes in the cytosol.Yeast two hybrid assay showed that GIF2 interacted with AGP small subunits Os AGPS1,Os AGPS2a and Os AGPS2 b.Transcript levels for granule-bound starch synthase,starch synthase,starch branching enzyme and starch debranching enzyme were distinctly elevated in gif2 grains.In addition,the level of nucleotide diversity of the GIF2 locus was extremely low in both cultivated and wild rice.All of these results suggest that GIF2 plays important roles in the regulation of grain filling and starch biosynthesis during caryopsis development,and that it has been preserved during selection throughout domestication of modern rice. | Xiangjin Wei Guiai Jiao Haiyan Lin Zhonghua Sheng Gaoneng Shao Lihong Xie Shaoqing Tang Qingguo Xu Peisong Hu | 2017 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2: | 20 |
| 2 | Geographical characteristics of China’s wetlands derived from remotely sensed data显示文摘In this paper, we report the first wetland mapping of the entire China using Landsat enhanced thematic mapper plus (ETM+) data. These data were obtained from the Global Land Cover Facility at the University of Maryland spanning from 1999 to 2002. A total of 597 scenes of Landsat images were georeferenced and mosaiced. Manual image interpretation of satellite images was aided with elevation data, soil data, land cover/land use data and Google Earth. The minimum mapping unit is 10 pixel × 10 pixel, equivalent to 9 ha. The aim of our first round of mapping was only targeted at the boundary delineation of any type of wetland except those wetlands that are under agricultural use (i.e., paddy fields), which has already been well mapped by others. Our interpretation results indicate that a total of 359478 km2 of wetlands are of non-agricultural use. Among our preliminarily mapped wetland, 339353 km2 are inland wetland, 2786 km2 are non-agricultural artificial wetland, and 17609 km2 are coastal wetland. Because low-tide is rarely captured in satellite images, an under-estimation of coastal wetland is inevitable. We conducted some statistics based on our mapped wetlands and compared them with those previously obtained from a number of sources including a land cover/land use map made with satellite images during the late 1990s and early 2000s, a marshland map developed in approximately the same period, survey data of coastal wetland in early 1980s, and area data for approximately 400 larger patches of marshland in China compiled in 1996. Because some inconsistencies exist in the guidelines of those different wetland surveys, difference in area is expected. Some further comparison indicates that the wetland distributions derived from the preliminary wetland map are reasonable and more objective than other sources. The mapping process also indicated that the method adopted by us was efficient and cost-effective. We also found that in order to ensure comparability of the wetland maps developed at different times, a set of standard guidelines on the wetland categories to be mapped, and the mapping methods to be used must be well conceived, developed and effectively employed. | 3 | Effect of preoperative nutrition therapy type and duration on short-time outcomes in gastric cancer patient with gastric outlet obstruction显示文摘Objective:To avoid perioperative complications caused malnutrition,nutrition therapy is necessary in gastric outlet obstruction(GOO)patients.Compared to parenteral nutrition(PN),enteral nutrition(EN)is associated with many advantages.This study aimed to investigate whether preoperative EN has beneficial clinical effects compared to preoperative PN in gastric cancer patients with GOO undergoing surgery.Methods:According to the methods of preoperative nutrition therapy,143 patients were divided into EN group(n=42)and PN group(n=101)between January 2013 and December 2017 at the Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Hospital.Multiple logistic regression models were used to assess the association between the methods of preoperative nutrition therapy and postoperative day of flatus passage.The generalized additive model and twopiecewise linear regression model were used to calculate the inflection point of the preoperative nutritional therapy time on the postoperative day of flatus passage in the PN group.Results:EN shortened the postoperative day of flatus passage in gastric cancer patients with GOO,which is a protective factor,especially in patients who underwent non-radical operations and the postoperative day of flatus passage reduced when the preoperative PN therapy was up to 3 d and a longer PN therapy(>3 d)did not accelerate the postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal functions.Conclusions:Preoperative EN therapy would benefit gastric cancer patients with GOO by accelerating postoperative recovery.For patients with absolute obstruction,no more than 3-day PN therapy is recommended if patients can tolerate general anesthesia and surgery. | Jiyang Li Shaoqing Li Hongqing Xi Peifa Liu Wenquan Liang Yunhe Gao Chuang Wang Bo Wei Lin Chen Yun Tang Zhi Qiao | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2: | 4 |

| 5 | Proliferation and differentiation into endothelial cells of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on poly DL-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) films显示文摘The functional realization is the most important problem in vascular tissue engineering. The small-caliber blood vessel substitutes are prone to thrombi, which results in functional loss of blood vessels. However, this is probably due to the imper- fection of endothelial layer in the substitutes. In this study, MSCs were seeded on a series of porous PLGA films with various porosity and pore size made by sodium chloride (NaCl) particulate leaching, and cell proliferation on each film was inspected. The film made of the 75% (w/w) particulate proportion and 30―50 μm pore size maximized the proliferation rate and was chosen as the scaffolds for the differentia- tion of MSCs into endothelial cells. The induced cells expressed endothelial cells specific Flk-1, Ⅷ factor and CD34, possessed endothelial cells specific Weible-palade (W-P) body, and had the abilities of ingesting low density lipoprotein and secreting prostacyclin (PGI2). | 6 | Identification of Chinese Materia Medicas in Microscopic Powder Images显示文摘This paper describes an identification system for Chinese Materia Medicas (CMMs) in microscopic powder images.The imaging processing of the microscopic powder image is very complex because of the low contrast,blurry boundaries,overlapping objects,and messy background.Therefore,the object detection must segment the significant microscopic structures from the complex image.The objects are detected in these images using an adaptable interactive method.After identifying the significant microscopic structures,the system identifies 14 features belonging to three main characteristics.These features form a 14-dimensional vector that represents the microscopic structures.The multi-dimensional vector is then analyzed using a feature assignment algorithm that picks the most notable features to construct a decision tree with thresholds.The identification system consists of a coarse classifier based on the decision tree and a fine classifier using similarity measurements to rank the possible results.Tests on 528 images from 24 different kinds of microscopic structures show the system effectiveness and applicability. | Shen Yan Yaoli Li Yixu Song Li Lin Peifa Jia Shaoqing Cai | 2012 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2012,17,2: | 2 |

| 14 | Organic geochemical characteristics of bark coal in Changguang area: evidence from aromatic hydrocarbons显示文摘Seven coal samples were collected from Changguang area,a typical bark coal field in Zhejiang Province,China.The organic geochemical characteristics and depositional environment of bark coal were studied by Rock–Eval pyrolysis,gas chromatography(GC),and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(GC–MS)analysis.The results show that all samples are type II kerogen.The values of total organic carbon(TOC),potential yield(S1+S2),and hydrogen index of these samples ranged from 65.80 wt%–87.00 wt%,170.43–232.89 mg HC/g,and 234–295 mg HC/g TOC,respectively.In aromatic hydrocarbons compounds of bark coal samples,the phenanthrene series occupy the largest proportion(43.48%–53.74%),followed by the dibenzothiophens(7.33%–16.53%).The distributions of naphthalenes,diphenyls,and chrysene of the samples indicate the source inputs are mainly derived from terrestrial higher plants.Furthermore,the ratios of naphthalene and phenanthrene series compounds reveal the samples are in the mature stage.Some biomarkers(Pr/Ph and C35/C31–35 homohopane),aromatic hydrocarbons(fluorene,dibenzofuran and dibenzothiophene),and high inertinite contents(14.7%–41.8%)suggest that bark coal was formed under relatively oxic conditions and was influenced by marine or brackish lakes environment. | Yuhan Lin Shaoqing Wang Yuming Sha Kun Yang | 2020 | International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2020,7,2: | 0 |
