1Formation history and protolith characteristics of granulite facies metamorphic rock in Central Cathaysia deduced from U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopic studies of single zircon grains显示文摘The petrochemical as well as zircon U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopic studies of granulite facies metamorphic rock from the Taoxi Group in eastern Nanling Range, Central Cathaysia indicate that its protolith is the sedimentary rock with low maturation index. The clastic materials are mostly from middle Neoproterozoic (~736 Ma) granitoid rocks with minor Neoarchaean and Paleoproterozoic rocks. The timing of this Neoproterozoic magmatism is in agreement with the second period of magmatism widespread surrounding the Yangtze Block. Hf isotopic data indicate that the Neoproterozoic granitoids resulted from the recycled Paleoproterozoic mantle-derived crustal materials. The sedimentary rock was deposited in Late Neoproterozoic Era, and carried into low crust in Early Paleozoic. The partial melting of the meta-sedimentary rock took place at about 480 Ma and subsequently granulite facies metamorphism occurred at ca. 443 Ma. The zircons forming during this time interval (Early Paleozoic) show large Hf isotope variations, and their -Hf(t) values increase from -13.2 to +2.36 with decreasing age, suggesting the injection of mantle-derived materials during partial melting and metamorphism processes in the Early Paleozoic. Calculation results show that this metamorphic rock, if evolved to Mesozoic, has similar isotopic composition to the nearby Mesozoic high Si peraluminous granites, implying that this kind of granulite facies metamorphic rock is probably the source material of some Mesozoic peraluminous granitoids in eastern Nanling Range.YU Jinhai ZHOU Xinmin Y. 2Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatism in western Guangdong and its geological significance显示文摘Systematic zircon LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating reveals that Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive activities developed in western Guangdong. Representative volcanic rocks, i.e. Maanshan and Zhougongding rhyodacites, have zircon U-Pb isotopic ages of 100±1 Ma, and the intrusive ones in-cluding the Deqing monzonitic granite body and the Xinghua granodiorite body in the Shidong com-plex, as well as the Tiaocun granodiorite body in the Guangping complex yield ages of 99±2 Ma, ca. 100 Ma, and 104±3 Ma respectively. The biotite-granites of the Shidong complex main body (461±35 Ma) and that of the Guangping complex (444±6 Ma) are Caledonian. In spite of the big time interval between Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatisms and Caledonian intrusive ones, both of them are characterized by enrichment in Rb, Th, Ce, Zr, Hf, Sm, depletion in Ba, Nb, Ta, P, Ti, Eu, and weakly REE tetrad effect. Eu negative anomalies are: Cretaceous volcanic rocks (Eu/Eu*=0.74), Cretaceous intrusive rocks (Eu/Eu*=0.35―0.58), Caledonian biotite granites (Eu/Eu*=0.31―0.34). Studies of Sr-Nd isotope data show that all these igneous rocks have high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.7105―0.7518), and low εNd(t) values (?7.23―?11.39) with their Nd two-stage model ages ranging from 1.6―2.0 Ga, which suggest that they all derived from the Proterozoic crustal basement of southeast China. The occurrence of Cretaceous volcanic-intrusive magmatisms in western Guangdong is related with the important lithospheric extension event in southeast China (including Nanling region) at ca. 100 Ma. The “volcanic line” defined by the large scale Mesozoic intermediate-acidic volcanic magmatisms in southeast China may further extend to the southwest margin of Nanling region.S. Y. 5Three Stages of Zircon Growth in Magmatic Rocks from the Pingtan Complex,Eastern China显示文摘Morphological and chemical studies on zircon grains from gabbro and granite of the Pingtan magmatic complex, Fujian Province, eastern China, show that there are three stages of zircon growth. The early stage of zircon growth is characterized by colorlessness, high transparence and birefringence, low and dispersive Ipr and Ipy, weak and homogeneous BSE brightness, lower Hf content and depletion of U, Th and Y; the middle stage is characterized by abruptly increasing Ipy, progressively strong and sectoral-zoning BSE brightness, higher Hf content and enrichment of U, Th and Y with Th/U > 1; the late stage of growth is characterized by brownish color, poor transparence, low birefringence, highest Ipr and Ipy, middle and oscillatorily-zoning BSE brightness, highest contents of Hf, U and Y with Th/U < 1. The stages are considered to be formed in a deep magma chamber, ascent passage and emplacement site, respectively. Due to the more or less long residual time of the magma chamber, the difference in age between the early and late stages of zircon might be great enough to be distinguished, which can be attributed to tectonic constraint for the magmatism.WANG Xiang W. 12Trace element characteristics in the diopsides of peridotite xenoliths: a laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry study显示文摘Among the various xenoliths entrained by the Cenozoic Hannuoba basalts, peridotite is the most abundant one. The trace elements of the diopsides from the peridotite xenoliths were analysed by LA-ICP-MS. The overall depletion and some heterogeneity of the continental mantle beneath northern North China Craton were indicated by the characteristics of the trace elements. The ∑REE amount in diopside correlates with the Cr/(Cr+Al) ratio of diopside which is indicative of xenolith’s partial melting degree. As the peridotite hosts and pyroxenite veins show similar REE distribution patterns, the composite xenoliths are probably formed by mantle deformation, rather than by the late metasomatism of mantle fluids/melts.Shaohai Chen Xinghua Zhou S. 16Comparison between Paleozoic and CenozoicLithospheric Mantle in Eastern Part of North China Block: With a Discussion of Mantle Evolution显示文摘Paleozoic diamond- and xenolith-bearing kimberlites and Cenozoic xenolith-bearing basalts,erupted in the eastern part of the North China block (NCB), provide excellent mantle probes for the research of intra-plate processes and the Phanerozoic evolution of the subcontinental lithosphere mantle (SCLM ). In this study, the mineral inclusions in diamond and xenoliths from Mengyin (Shandong Province) and Fuxian (Liaoning Province) kimberlites were chosen for constraining the nature of the Paleozoic SCLM. while xenoliths from the Shanwang and Qixia basalt (both in Shandong Province) were chosen for constraining the nature of the Cenozoic SCLM.Shanwang lies astride the Tancheng-Lujiang (Taulu) fault zone, a major lithospheric fault in Eastern China as well as in Eastern Asia, and Qixia lies east of the rault zone. Based on the research of the petrography of mantle xenoliths, petrochemistry, major and the trace element of mantle minerals, lithospheric thermal state, combiued with tbe modern geophysical data, it is concluded that the attenuation and replacement of Paleozoic SCLM by upwelling asthenospheric materials through thermal erosion and possibly delamination resulted in the rormation of irregular-shaPed hot bodies, mainly along weak zones within the mantle- The Tanlu fault zone played an importont role in the Mesozoic-Cenozoic replacemeni or the pre-existing lithospheric mantle.Zheng Jianping Lu Fengxiang(Faculty of Earth Sciences, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan 430074, China)O’Reilly S.
