| 1 | The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. | 2 | Bone tissue regeneration:The role of finely tuned pore architecture of bioactive scaffolds before clinical translation显示文摘Spatial dimension of pores and interconnection in macroporous scaffolds is of particular importance in facilitating endogenous cell migration and bone tissue ingrowth.However,it is still a challenge to widely tune structure parameters of scaffolds by conventional methods because of inevitable pore geometrical deformation and poor pore interconnectivity.Here,the long-term in vivo biological performances of nonstoichiometric bioceramic scaffolds with different pore dimensions were assessed in critical-size femoral bone defect model.The 6%Mg-substituted wollastonite(CSi-Mg6)powders were prepared via wet-chemical precipitation and the scaffolds elaborately printed by ceramic stereolithography,displaying designed constant pore strut and tailorable pore height(200,320,450,600μm),were investigated thoroughly in the bone regeneration process.Together with detailed structural stability and mechanical properties were collaboratively outlined.BothμCT and histological analyses indicated that bone tissue ingrowth was retarded in 200μm scaffolds in the whole stage(2-16 weeks)but the 320μm scaffolds showed appreciable bone tissue in the center of porous constructs at 6-10 weeks and matured bone tissue were uniformly invaded in the whole pore networks at 16 weeks.Interestingly,the neo-tissue ingrowth was facilitated in the 450μm and 600μm scaffolds after 2 weeks and higher extent of bone regeneration and remodeling at the later stage.These new findings provide critical information on how engineered porous architecture impact bone regeneration in vivo.Simultaneously,this study shows important implications for optimizing the porous scaffolds design by advanced additive manufacture technique to match the clinical translation with high performance. | Ronghuan Wu Yifan Li Miaoda Shen Xianyan Yang Lei Zhang Xiurong Ke Guojing Yang Changyou Gao Zhongru Gou Sanzhong Xu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,5: | 5 |
| 3 | Optimization on the Crosswind Stability of Trains Using Neural Network Surrogate Model显示文摘Under the influence of crosswinds,the running safety of trains will decrease sharply,so it is necessary to optimize the suspension parameters of trains.This paper studies the dynamic performance of high-speed trains under cross-wind conditions,and optimizes the running safety of train.A computational fluid dynamics simulation was used to determine the aerodynamic loads and moments experienced by a train.A series of dynamic models of a train,with different dynamic parameters were constructed,and analyzed,with safety metrics for these being determined.Finally,a surrogate model was built and an optimization algorithm was used upon this surrogate model,to find the minimum possible values for:derailment coefficient,vertical wheel-rail contact force,wheel load reduction ratio,wheel lateral force and overturning coefficient.There were 9 design variables,all associated with the dynamic parameters of the bogie.When the train was running with the speed of 350 km/h,under a crosswind speed of 15 m/s,the benchmark dynamic model performed poorly.The derailment coefficient was 1.31.The vertical wheel-rail contact force was 133.30 kN.The wheel load reduction rate was 0.643.The wheel lateral force was 85.67 kN,and the overturning coefficient was 0.425.After optimization,under the same running conditions,the metrics of the train were 0.268,100.44 kN,0.474,34.36 kN,and 0.421,respectively.This paper show that by combining train aerodynamics,vehicle system dynamics and many-objective optimization theory,a train’s stability can be more comprehensively analyzed,with more safety metrics being considered. | Le Zhang Tian Li Jiye Zhang Ronghuan Piao | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,4: | 4 |
| 4 | GmCRY1s modulate gibberellin metabolism to regulate soybean shade avoidance in response to reduced blue light显示文摘Soybean is an important legume crop that displays the classic shade avoidance syndrome(SAS),including exaggerated stem elongation,which leads to lodging and yield reduction under density farming conditions.Here,we compared the effects of two shade signals,low red light to far-red light ratio(R:FR)and low blue light(LBL),on soybean status and revealed that LBL predominantly induces excessive stem elongation.We used CRISPR-Cas9-engineered Gmcry mutants to investigate the functions of seven cryptochromes(GmCRYs)in soybean and found that the four GmCRY1s overlap in mediating LBL-induced SAS.Lightactivated GmCRY1s increase the abundance of the bZlP transcription factors STF1 and STF2,which directly upregulate the expression of genes encoding GA2 oxidases to deactivate GA1 and repress stem elongation.Notably,GmCRY1b overexpression lines displayed multiple agronomic advantages over the wild-type control under both dense planting and intercropping conditions.Our study demonstrates the integration of GmCRY1-mediated signals with the GA metabolic pathway in the regulation of LBL-induced SAS in soybean.It also provides a promising option for breeding lodging-resistant,high-yield soybean cultivars in the future. | Xiangguang Lyu Qican Cheng Chao Qin Yinghui Li Xinying Xu Ronghuan Ji Ruolan Mu Hongyu Li Tao Zhao Jun Liu Yonggang Zhou Haiyan Li Guodong Yang Qingshan Chen Bin Liu | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,2: | 4 |

| 6 | Pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon derived from bimetal organic frameworks for high capacity zinc ion hybrid capacitors with remarkable rate capability显示文摘Aqueous zinc ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs)hold great potential for large-scale energy storage applications owing to their high safety and low cost,but suffer from low capacity and energy density.Herein,pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon(nPC)was successfully synthesized via the growth,subsequent annealing and acid etching of bimetal organic frameworks for high capacity and safe ZIHCs with exceptional rate capability.Benefiting from the mesopores for easy ion diffusion,high electrical conductivity enabled by in-situ grown carbon nanotubes matrix and residual metal Co nanoparticles for fast electron transfer,sufficient micropores and high N content(8.9 at%)with dominated pyridinic N(54%)for enhanced zinc ion storage,the resulting nPC cathodes for ZIHCs achieved high capacities of 302 and137 m Ah g^(-1) at 1 and 18 A g^(-1),outperforming most reported carbon based cathodes.Theoretical results further disclosed that pyridinic N possessed larger binding energy of-4.99 eV to chemically coordinate with Zn2+than other N species.Moreover,quasi-solid-state ZIHCs with gelatin based gel electrolytes exhibited high energy density of 157.6 Wh kg^(-1) at 0.69 kW kg^(-1),high safety and mechanical flexibility to withstand mechanical deformation and drilling.This strategy of developing pyridinic nitrogen enriched porous carbon will pave a new avenue to construct safe ZIHCs with high energy densities. | Yao Li Pengfei Lu Ping Shang Lisha Wu Xiao Wang Yanfeng Dong Ronghuan He Zhong-Shuai Wu | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5: | 3 |
| 7 | Beneficial use of stainless steel EAF slag as composite cement admixture and its heavy metals leaching risk analysis显示文摘This study analyzes the feasibility of using stainless steel electric arc furnace(EAF)slag as composite cement admixture and the risk of leaching-out of heavy metals.The results show that the stainless steel EAF slag,mainly made up of Ca2SiO4,Ca3Mg(SiO4)2,some Cr-containing minerals and in small particle size,is easily ground and has cementitious activity.EAF slag,when used as cement admixture,can be added with a maximum percentage of 32%.It can meet the strength requirements of the standard P·C 32.5 cement.When the mixing percentage is decreased to 25%,the strength of the cement can be increased to that of P·C 42.5 cement.Other main quality indexes of composite cement,such as the setting time and stability,also satisfy standard requirements.The results also show that most of the heavy metals in the stainless steel EAF slag exist in a stable speciation.The concentration of heavy metals that leach out from the stainless steel EAF slag and the composite cement products is far lower than the standard limit of hazardous wastes.The main heavy metal,chromium,exists as less hazardous trivalent chromium.Therefore,the risk of heavy metals leaching out from the stainless steel EAF slag is low.The internal exposure index(IRa)and the external exposure index(Iγ)of the stainless steel EAF slag are both lower than 1.0,satisfying the standard requirements of the state for the radionuclides of building materials.Therefore,stainless steel EAF slag can be safely used as admixture to produce composite cement. | WANG Ruyi CHEN Ronghuan SHI Lei | 2009 | Baosteel Technical Research2009,3,4: | 3 |
