2Controlled growth and composition of multivariate metal-organic frameworks-199 via a reaction-diffusion process显示文摘In this paper,we exploit our prior successful synthesis of MOF-199 single crystals using the reaction-diffusion framework(RDF),to synthesize multivariate metal-organic frameworks(MTV-MOFs)version with enhanced properties.The MTV-MOFs are synthesized by creating defects within the MOF-199 crystal structure by integrating organic linkers entailing different functional groups.Accordingly,5-aminoisophthalic acid(NH_(2)-BDC)and 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid(OH-BDC)are separately mixed with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid(BTC)in three different starting ratios of X-BDC:BTC(1:3,1:1)and(3:1).The effects of this linker on the morphology of the synthesized MTV-MOFs,their thermal stability,and their surface area are investigated.The extent of the incorporation of the linkers in the framework is elucidated via^(1)H-NMR spectroscopy and it is shown that the incorporation varies as a function of the location along the tubular reactor,a characteristic of RDF.The enhanced properties of the synthesized MTV-MOFs are further demonstrated by measuring its adsorptive capability for methylene blue(MB)and rhodamine B(Rh B)in aqueous solution,and compared with that of the as-synthesized MOF-199.The kinetic and thermodynamic studies reveal that MTV-MOFs with the ratio of X-BDC:BTC(1:1)exhibit the best uptakes of MB(263 mg/g)for X=OH and Rh B(156 mg/g)for X=NH_(2).The adsorbents are also easily regenerated for three consecutive cycles without losing their efficiency.We finally demonstrate that MTV-MOFs can be designed to tune the dye removal selectivity and enhance the removal capacity of both MB and RhB in a binary aqueous solution of these dyes.Razan lssa Fayrouz Abou Ibrahim Mazen Al-Ghoul Mohamad Hmadeh 2021Nano Research2021,14,2:2

11Systematic review of anorectal leiomyosarcoma: Current challenges and recent advances显示文摘BACKGROUND The anorectal leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is an aggressive malignant neoplasm. Owing to the rarity of LMSs, an optimal treatment modality has yet to be determined. AIM To collect all published data on anorectal LMS characteristics, explore current treatment options, and review recent cases of postradiation LMS. METHODS A literature search of the PubMed electronic database was conducted using the MeSH terms 'rectal neoplasms','anus neoplasms' and 'gastrointestinal neoplasms' combined with 'leiomyosarcoma'. The search was limited to English language and human studies. All available case reports and case series of anal or rectal LMSs that were published from the beginning of January 1996 to May 2017 were included if the diagnosis of LMS had been confirmed by histopathologic examination. Data were analyzed using simple statistics (mean, median, and standard deviation). Independent sample t-test was used to compare means for continuous variables. RESULTS A total of 27 articles reporting on 51 cases of anorectal LMS were identified. Among these cases, 11.7% had undergone previous pelvic radiotherapy (developing LMS at 13-35 years afterwards). Anorectal LMS affected the rectum in 92.2% of the cases, and no sex-based predominance was observed. Surgical resection with negative margins remains the mainstay of treatment, which can be accomplished with wide local excision or radical resection. The local recurrence rate was higher among cases who received wide local excision (30%), as compared to radical resection (20%);however, the overall rate of metastasis was 51.61% regardless of the treatment approach. The use of neoadjuvant radiation lowers the risk of local recurrence compared to adjuvant radiotherapy, and facilitates R0 resection of the tumor. Cases treated with adjuvant chemotherapy showed better rates of distant recurrence and overall survival. Nonetheless, multidisciplinary team discussion is necessary to determine the optimal management plan whilst considering patient- and disease-related factors. 12Ensemble-Based Approach for Efficient Intrusion Detection in Network Traffic显示文摘The exponential growth of Internet and network usage has neces-sitated heightened security measures to protect against data and network breaches.Intrusions,executed through network packets,pose a significant challenge for firewalls to detect and prevent due to the similarity between legit-imate and intrusion traffic.The vast network traffic volume also complicates most network monitoring systems and algorithms.Several intrusion detection methods have been proposed,with machine learning techniques regarded as promising for dealing with these incidents.This study presents an Intrusion Detection System Based on Stacking Ensemble Learning base(Random For-est,Decision Tree,and k-Nearest-Neighbors).The proposed system employs pre-processing techniques to enhance classification efficiency and integrates seven machine learning algorithms.The stacking ensemble technique increases performance by incorporating three base models(Random Forest,Decision Tree,and k-Nearest-Neighbors)and a meta-model represented by the Logistic Regression algorithm.Evaluated using the UNSW-NB15 dataset,the pro-posed IDS gained an accuracy of 96.16%in the training phase and 97.95%in the testing phase,with precision of 97.78%,and 98.40%for taring and testing,respectively.The obtained results demonstrate improvements in other measurement criteria.Ammar Almomani Iman Akour Ahmed M.Manasrah Omar Almomani Mohammad Alauthman Esra’a Abdullah Amaal Al Shwait Razan Al Sharaa 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,37,8:0
13Current global research landscape on COVID-19 and cancer: Bibliometric and visualization analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Cancer is a severe public health issue that seriously jeopardizes global health.In individuals with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),cancer is considered an independent risk factor for severe illness and increased mortality.AIM To identify research hotspots and prospects,we used bibliometrics to examine the global production of COVID-19 literature published in the field of oncology.METHODS Data on publication output were identified based on the Scopus database between January 1,2020,and June 21,2022.This study used VOSviewer to analyze collaboration networks among countries and assess the terms most often used in the titles and abstracts of retrieved publications to determine research hotspots linked to cancer and COVID-19.The Impact Index Per Article for the top 10 high-cited papers collected from Reference Citation Analysis(RCA)are presented.RESULTS A total of 7015 publications were retrieved from the database.The United States published the greatest number of articles(2025;28.87%),followed by Italy(964;13.74%),the United Kingdom(839;11.96%),and China(538;7.67%).The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center(n=205,2.92%)ranked first,followed by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center(n=176,2.51%).The European Journal of Cancer(n=106,1.51%)ranked first,followed by the Frontiers in Oncology(n=104,1.48%),Cancers(n=102,1.45%),and Pediatric Blood and Cancer(n=95;1.35%).The hot topics were stratified into“cancer care management during the COVID-19 pandemic”;and“COVID-19 vaccines in cancer patients”.CONCLUSION This is the first bibliometric analysis to determine the present state and upcoming hot themes related to cancer and COVID-19 and vice versa using VOSviewer during the early stages of the pandemic.The emergence of hot themes related to cancer and COVID-19 may aid researchers in identifying new research areas in this field.Sa'ed H Zyoud Amer Koni Samah W Al-Jabi Riad Amer Muna Shakhshir Rand Al Subu Husam Salameh Razan Odeh Sultan Musleh Faris Abushamma Adham Abu Taha 2022World Journal of Clinical Oncology2022,13,10:0

15Explainable Classification Model for Android Malware Analysis Using API and Permission-Based Features显示文摘One of the most widely used smartphone operating systems,Android,is vulnerable to cutting-edge malware that employs sophisticated logic.Such malware attacks could lead to the execution of unauthorized acts on the victims’devices,stealing personal information and causing hardware damage.In previous studies,machine learning(ML)has shown its efficacy in detecting malware events and classifying their types.However,attackers are continuously developing more sophisticated methods to bypass detection.Therefore,up-to-date datasets must be utilized to implement proactive models for detecting malware events in Android mobile devices.Therefore,this study employed ML algorithms to classify Android applications into malware or goodware using permission and application programming interface(API)-based features from a recent dataset.To overcome the dataset imbalance issue,RandomOverSampler,synthetic minority oversampling with tomek links(SMOTETomek),and RandomUnderSampler were applied to the Dataset in different experiments.The results indicated that the extra tree(ET)classifier achieved the highest accuracy of 99.53%within an elapsed time of 0.0198 s in the experiment that utilized the RandomOverSampler technique.Furthermore,the explainable Artificial Intelligence(EAI)technique has been applied to add transparency to the high-performance ET classifier.The global explanation using the Shapely values indicated that the top three features contributing to the goodware class are:Ljava/net/URL;->openConnection,Landroid/location/LocationManager;->getLastKgoodwarewnLocation,and Vibrate.On the other hand,the top three features contributing to themalware class are Receive_Boot_Completed,Get_Tasks,and Kill_Background_Processes.It is believed that the proposedmodel can contribute to proactively detectingmalware events in Android devices to reduce the number of victims and increase users’trust.Nida Aslam Irfan Ullah Khan Salma Abdulrahman Bader Aisha Alansari Lama Abdullah Alaqeel Razan Mohammed Khormy Zahra Abdultawab AlKubaish Tariq Hussain 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,76,9:0

17Inner Ear Disorders in the Elderly with Carotid Artery Disease Requiring Revascularization:Prevalence,Characteristics,and Association显示文摘Background:Aging is almost assocaited with inner ear disorders(InEarDs)by means of age-related hearing impairment(ARHI)or vertigo-anddizziness as well as the carotid artery disease requiring revascularization(CAD-R).Objective:The present study aimed to study the prevalence and characteristics of InEarDs in older adults diagnosed with CAD-R.The other aim was to determine if InEarDs in CAD-R patients is age-related or might be explained by a concomitant CAD-R.Method:A retrospective,case-control study was conducted at the Mayo Clinic,Florida.The study cohort includes 919 patients who had CAD-R.The control group consisted of 244 age-and gender-matched patients presenting with cardiac or peripheral artery disease.The InEarDs were assessed based on the diagnosis upon presentation to the Audiology Clinic and follow-up.Results:Of the 919,348 had ARHI that includes significant peripheral signs and central symptoms(24.9%),vertigo-and-dizziness events that are recurrent and persistent with normal objective vestibular testing(12.9%),or a combination of both(11.0%).These percentages were significantly higher in the study group relative to the control group.After adjustment for the vascular risk factors,the study group had significantly higher odds of ARHI(OR=1.94;95%CI:1.09-3.44;P<0.05).Conclusion:CAD-R patients had significantly higher InEarDs than the control group.CAD-R is more likely to be associated with ARHI rather than the vertigo-and-dizziness even after adjusting for the vascular risk factors.Razan Alfakir 2020Journal of Geriatric Medicine2020,2,3:0
18Adequacy of Logistic models for describing the dynamics of COVID-19 pandemic显示文摘Logistic models have been widely used for modelling the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.This study used the data for Kuwait to assess the adequacy of the two most commonly used logistic models(Verhulst and Richards models)for describing the dynamics COVID-19.Specifically,the study assessed the predictive performance of these two models and the practical identifiability of their parameters.Two model calibration approaches were adopted.In the first approach,all the data was used to fit the models as per the heuristic model fitting method.In the second approach,only the first half of the data was used for calibrating the models,while the other half was left for validating the models.Analysis of the obtained calibration and validation results have indicated that parameters of the two models cannot be identified with high certainty from COVID-19 data.Further,the models shown to have structural problems as they could not predict reasonably the validation data.Therefore,they should not be used for long-term predictions of COVID-19.Suggestion have been made for improving the performances of the models.Abdallah Abusam Razan Abusam Bader Al-Anzi 2020Infectious Disease Modelling2020,5,1:0
