| 1 | In vitro α-amylase inhibitory activity and in vivo hypoglycemic effect of methanol extract of Citrus macroptera Montr.fruit显示文摘Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects of methanol extract of Citrus macroptera Montr,fruit inα-amylase inhibitory activity(in vitro)and hypoglycemic activity in normal and glucose induced hyperglycemic rats(in vivo).Methods:Fruits of Citrus macroptera without rind was extracted with pure methanol following cold extraction and tested for presence of phytochemical constituents,α-amylase inhibitory activity,and hypoglycemic effect in normal rats and glucose induced hyperglycemic rats.Results:Presence of saponin,steroid and terpenoid were identified in the extract.The results showed that fruit extract had moderateα-amylase inhibitory activity[IC_(50)value=(3.638±0.190)mg/mL]as compared to acarbose.Moreover at 500 mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg doses fruit extract significantly(P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively)reduced fasting blood glucose level in normal rats as compared to glibenclamide(5 mg/kg).In oral glucose tolerance test,500 mg/kg dose significantly reduced blood glucose level(P<0.05)at 2 h but 1000 mg/kg dose significantly reduced blood glucose level at 2 h and 3 h(P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively)whereas glibenclamide(5 mg/kg)significantly reduced glucose level at every hour after administration.Overall time effect is also considered extremely significant with F value=23.83 and P value=0.0001 in oral glucose tolerance test.Conclusion:These findings suggest that the plant may be a potential source for the development of new oral hypoglycemic agent. | Nizam Uddin Rakib Hasan Monir Hossain Arjyabrata Sarker A.H.M.Nazmul Hasan A.F.M.Mahmudul Islam Mohd.Motaher H.Chowdhury Sohel Rana | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,6: | 4 |

| 3 | Mechanical Properties of Weft-Knitted Spacer Fabrics Integrated with Silica Aerogels显示文摘The work investigated surface and mechanical properties of untreated and treated three-layered weftknitted spacer fabrics.In order to optimize the mechanical properties of weft-knitted spacer fabrics,silica aerogels(SAs)coating was employed.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)images of untreated and treated spacer fabrics were analyzed to ensure the presence of SAs on the coated spacer fabrics.The basic properties of uncoated and coated weftknitted spacer fabrics were studied and compared.Tensile strength and initial modulus were studied according to the GB/T3923 test standard YG026 MB-250 by testing machine.Moreover,compression properties of spacer fabrics were also tested by HD026 G test instrument.In this testing,work of compression,the linearity of compression,recovery work of compression and other parameters were calculated from stress and strain curves.It was found that SAs coating has a significant influence on the mechanical properties of weftknitted spacer fabrics.The statistical analysis also verified the significant performance(P value smaller than 0.05)of treated fabric samples at the 0.05 level. | SYED Rashedul Islam 于伟东 蒋金华 MOHAMMAD Abu Nasir Rakib | 2019 | Journal of Donghua University(English Edition)2019,36,6: | 1 |

| 12 | Distribution of heavy metals in water and sediment of an urban river in a developing country:A probabilistic risk assessment显示文摘River water and sediment embody environmental characteristics that give valuable eco-environmental information.Due to rapid industrialization,the aquatic environment of any urban river can be seriously polluted by heavy metals(HMs).The global concern is caused by heavy metal pollution because of its potential harm to aquatic ecosystems and human health.In the Bhairab River,Bangladesh,surface sediment concentrations of globally alarming toxic metals such as arsenic(As),chromium(Cr),cadmium(Cd),and lead(Pb)were measured to determine the ecological and human health risks of the riverine ecosystem.The average As,Cr,Cd,and Pb concentrations in water were 3.55,31.74,1.44,and 23.82 mg/L,respectively,and in sediment were 4.13,34.17,1.66,and 25.46 mg/kg,respectively.During the winter,metals in sediment were higher than during the summer.For most sediment samples,the enrichment factor(EF),contamination factor(CF),geoaccumulation index(Igeo),pollution load index(PLI)of As,Cr,Cd,and Pb indicated moderate contamination.The potential ecological risk(PER)in sediment followed the descending order of Cd>As>Pb>Cr.The contamination level of toxic metals implied that the condition is frightening and probably severely affecting the aquatic ecology of this riverine ecosystem. | Mir Mohammad Ali Saima Rahman Md Saiful Islam Md Refat Jahan Rakib Shaharior Hossen Md Zillur Rahman Tapos Kormoker Abubakr M.I.dris Khamphe Phoungthong | 2022 | International Journal of Sediment Research2022,37,2: | 0 |
