Multi-centric clinical study of the effect of intervention time on efficacy of gastroparesis external application prescription treatment of gastrointestinal tumor postsurgical gastroparesis显示文摘Objective:This intervention has been shown to be clinically efficacious and safe. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different intervention times on the efficacy of gastroparesis external application prescription versus placebo for the treatment of gastrointestinal tumor postoperative, postsurgical gastroparesis. Methods:A multicenter,randomized,double-blind,placebo controlled phaseⅢclinical trial was designed to demonstrate superiority and conducted at four grade 3A hospitals in Beijing.Patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal tumor postsurgical gastroparesis and local cold syndrome in the abdomen were enrolled and received conventional treatment(nutritional support, gastrointestinal decompression, and prokinetic medication).Treatment and control groups respectively received gastroparesis external application prescription or placebo acupoint application over a treatment course of 14 days or until the primary efficacy endpoint(clinical efficiency)was achieved. Results:A total of 120 patients were enrolled in the treatment and control groups(n Z 60 per group),and 15 patients dropped out of the study because of skin allergies(n Z 7)or poor efficacy(nZ8).The efficacy among patients in Class B of Group A(treatment group)was marginally better than that of Group B(control group)(64.28%vs.55.56%)although the difference between the two groups was not significant. However, the efficacy among patients in Class C of Group A was significantly better than that of Group B(79.49%vs.43.33%).For Group A,the time for patients in the three classes to achieve the efficacy endpoint increased significantly with disease progression(3.00,6.78,and 8.29 days for Class A,B,and C,respectively). Conclusions:Gastroparesis external application prescription can effectively treat gastrointestinal tumor postsurgical gastroparesis and may be more efficacious in progressive disease compared placebo.Patients with gastrointestinal tumor postsurgical gastroparesis should therefore undergo intervention at an earlier stage.Qin Zhou Minghuan Zuo Yantao Tian Yanbin Wang Yingjiang Ye Chao An Tian Zhou Chuanbo Liu Kaiwen Hu Quanwang Li 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2016,3,4:2

Anomaly Detection and Pattern Differentiation in Monitoring Data from Power Transformers显示文摘Aiming at the problem of abnormal data generated by a power transformer on-line monitoring system due to the influences of transformer operation state change, external environmental interference, communication interruption, and other factors,a method of anomaly recognition and differentiation for monitoring data was proposed.Firstly, the empirical wavelet transform(EWT)and the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model were used for time series modelling of monitoring data to obtain the residual sequence reflecting the anomaly monitoring data value, and then the isolation forest algorithm was used to identify the abnormal information, and the monitoring sequence was segmented according to the recognition results.Secondly, the segmented sequence was symbolised by the improved multi-dimensional SAX vector representation method, and the assessment of the anomaly pattern was made by calculating the similarity score of the adjacent symbol vectors, and the monitoring sequence correlation was further used to verify the assessment. Finally, the case study result shows that the proposed method can reliably recognise abnormal data and accurately distinguish between invalid and valid anomaly patterns.Jun Zhao Shuguo Gao Yunpeng Liu QuanWang Ziqiang Xu Yuan Tian Lu Sun 2022Energy Engineering2022,119,5:0
Monte Carlo Simulation-Based Robust Workflow Scheduling for Spot Instances in Cloud Environments显示文摘When deploying workflows in cloud environments, the use of Spot Instances(SIs)is intriguing as they are much cheaper than on-demand ones. However,Sls are volatile and may be revoked at any time, which results in a more challenging scheduling problem involving execution interruption and hence hinders the successful handling of conventional cloud workflow scheduling techniques.Although some scheduling methods for Sls have been proposed, most of them are no more applicable to the latest Sls,as they have evolved by eliminating bidding and simplifying the pricing model. This study focuses on how to minimize the execution cost with a deadline constraint when deploying a workflow on volatile Sls in cloud environments.Based on Monte Carlo simulation and list scheduling,a stochastic scheduling method called MCLS is devised to optimize a utility function introduced for this problem. With the Monte Carlo simulation framework,MCLS employs sampled task execution time to build solutions via deadline distribution and list scheduling, and then returns the most robust solution from all the candidates with a specific evaluation mechanism and selection criteria.Experimental results show that the performance of MCLS is more competitive comparedwithtraditionalalgorithms.Quanwang Wu Jianzhao Fang Jie Zeng Junhao Wen Fengji Luo 2024Tsinghua Science and Technology2024,29,1:0
A benchmark city for seismic resilience assessment显示文摘The concept of seismic resilience has received significant attention from academia and industry during the last two decades. Different frameworks have been proposed for seismic resilience assessment of engineering systems at different scales(e.g., buildings, bridges, communities, and cities). Testbeds including Centerville virtual community(CVC), Memphis testbed(MTB), and the virtual city of Turin, Italy(VC-TI) have been developed during the last decade. However, the resilience assessment results of Chinese cities still require calibration based on a unified evaluation model. Therefore, a geographic information system(GIS)-based benchmark model of a medium-sized city located in the southeastern coastal region of China was developed. The benchmark city can be used to compare existing assessment frameworks and calibrate the assessment results. The demographics, site conditions, and potential hazard exposure of the benchmark city, as well as land use and building inventory are described in this paper. Data of lifeline systems are provided, including power, transportation, water, drainage, and natural gas distribution networks, as well as the locations of hospitals, emergency shelters, and schools. Data from past earthquakes and the literature were obtained to develop seismic fragility models, consequence models, and recovery models, which can be used as basic data or calibration data in the resilience assessment process. To demonstrate the completeness of the data included in the benchmark city, a case study on the accessibility of emergency rescue after earthquakes was conducted, and the preliminary results were discussed. The ultimate goal of this benchmark city is to provide a platform for calibrating resilience assessment results and to facilitate the development of resilient cities in China.Shang Qingxue Guo Xiaodong Li Quanwang Xu Zhen Xie Linlin Liu Chaofeng Li Jichao Wang Tao 2020Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2020,19,4:0
Hurricane damage assessment for residential construction considering the non-stationarity in hurricane intensity and frequency显示文摘Natural hazards such as hurricanes may cause extensive economic losses and social disruption for civil structures and infrastructures in coastal areas, implying the importance of understanding the construction performance subjected to hurricanes and assessing the hurricane damages properly. The intensity and frequency of hurricanes have been reported to change with time due to the potential impact of climate change. In this paper, a probability-based model of hurricane damage assessment for coastal constructions is proposed taking into account the non-stationarity in hurricane intensity and frequency. The nonhomogeneous Poisson process is employed to model the non-stationarity in hurricane occurrence while the non-stationarity in hurricane intensity is reflected by the time-variant statistical parameters(e.g., mean value and/or standard deviation), with which the mean value and variation of the cumulative hurricane damage are evaluated explicitly. The Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA, is chosen to illustrate the hurricane damage assessment method proposed in this paper. The role of non-stationarity in hurricane intensity and occurrence rate due to climate change in hurricane damage is investigated using some representative changing patterns of hurricane parameters.WANG Cao LI Quanwang PANG Long ZOU Aming ZHANG Long 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,12:0
A Length-Adaptive Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm for Bi-Objective High-Dimensional Feature Selection显示文摘As a crucial data preprocessing method in data mining, feature selection(FS)can be regarded as a bi-objective optimization problem that aims to maximize classification accuracy and minimize the number of selected features.Evolutionary computing(EC)is promising for FS owing to its powerful search capability. However,in traditional EC-based methods, feature subsets are represented via a length-fixed individual encoding. It is ineffective for high-dimensional data, because it results in a huge search space and prohibitive training time. This work proposes a length-adaptive non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(LA-NSGA)with a length-variable individual encoding and a length-adaptive evolution mechanism for bi-objective highdimensional FS.In LA-NSGA,an initialization method based on correlation and redundancy is devised to initialize individuals of diverse lengths, and a Pareto dominance-based length change operator is introduced to guide individuals to explore in promising search space adaptively. Moreover,a dominance-based local search method is employed for further improvement. The experimental results based on 12 high-dimensional gene datasets show that the Pareto front of feature subsets produced by LA-NSGA is superior to those of existing algorithms.Yanlu Gong Junhai Zhou Quanwang Wu MengChu Zhou Junhao Wen 2023IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2023,10,9:0

Functionality analysis of an urban water supply network after strong earthquakes显示文摘An urban water supply network(WSN)is a crucial lifeline system that helps to maintain the normal functioning of modern society. However, the hydraulic analysis of a significantly damaged WSN that suffers from pipe breaks or leaks remains challenging. In this paper,a probability-based framework is proposed to assess the functionality of WSNs in the aftermath of powerful earthquakes. The serviceability of the WSN is quantified by using a comprehensive index that considers nodal water flow and nodal pressure. This index includes a coefficient that reflects the relative importance of these two parameters. The demand reduction(DR)method, which reduces the water flow of nodes while preventing the negative pressure of nodes,is proposed. The difference between the negative pressure elimination(NPE)method and the DR method is discussed by using the example of a WSN in a medium-sized city in China. The functionality values of the WSN are 0.76 and 0.99 when nodal pressure and nodal demands are used respectively as the index of system serviceability at an intensity level that would pertain to an earthquake considered to occur at a maximum level. When the intensity of ground motion is as high as 0.4 g,the DR method requires fewer samples than the NPE method to obtain accurate results. The NPE method eliminates most of the pipes, which may be unrealistic.Li Jichao Shang Qingxue Hou Guanjie Li Quanwang Wang Tao 2021Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2021,20,2:0
