Impacts of Transportation Arteries on Land Use Patterns in Urbanrural Fringe: A Comparative Gradient Analysis of Qixia District, Nanjing City, China显示文摘Integrated transportation and land use studies are of major interest to planners because they consider the interaction between transportation development and land use change. Quantifying the impact of transport infrastructure on land use change is necessary for evaluating the role of transportation development in the process of land use and land cover change in the urban-rural fringe. Taking Qixia District of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China as a typical urban-rural fringe area, this paper analyzes the patterns and characteristics of land use change along three major transportation arteries using land use data from 2000 and 2008. We examine the spatial differentiation and gradient of land use pattern around railway, expressway, and highway corridors to investigate whether land use change in the urban-rural fringe is related to distance from transportation arteries and to clarify the varying impacts of different forms of transport infrastructure on land use patterns. We find that construction land generally tends to be located close to major transportation arteries, and that railways have the most obvious influence on land use change in the urban-rural fringe, while the impact of expressways was not significant. We conclude that there exists a causal relationship between the presence of transportation arteries and land use change in the urban-rural fringe, but this relationship varies across different types of linear transport infrastructure.ZHANG Runsen PU Lijie ZHU Ming 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,3:4
Monitoring Soil Salt Content Using HJ-1A Hyperspectral Data: A Case Study of Coastal Areas in Rudong County, Eastern China显示文摘Hyperspectral data are an important source for monitoring soil salt content on a large scale. However, in previous studies, barriers such as interference due to the presence of vegetation restricted the precision of mapping soil salt content. This study tested a new method for predicting soil salt content with improved precision by using Chinese hyperspectral data, Huan Jing-Hyper Spectral Imager(HJ-HSI), in the coastal area of Rudong County, Eastern China. The vegetation-covered area and coastal bare flat area were distinguished by using the normalized differential vegetation index at the band length of 705 nm(NDVI705). The soil salt content of each area was predicted by various algorithms. A Normal Soil Salt Content Response Index(NSSRI) was constructed from continuum-removed reflectance(CR-reflectance) at wavelengths of 908.95 nm and 687.41 nm to predict the soil salt content in the coastal bare flat area(NDVI705 < 0.2). The soil adjusted salinity index(SAVI) was applied to predict the soil salt content in the vegetation-covered area(NDVI705 ≥ 0.2). The results demonstrate that 1) the new method significantly improves the accuracy of soil salt content mapping(R2 = 0.6396, RMSE = 0.3591), and 2) HJ-HSI data can be used to map soil salt content precisely and are suitable for monitoring soil salt content on a large scale.LI Jianguo PU Lijie ZHU Ming DAI Xiaoqing XU Yan CHEN Xinjian ZHANG Lifang ZHANG Runsen 2015Chinese Geographical Science2015,25,2:4
Effect of reclamation on soil organic carbon pools in coastal areas of eastern China显示文摘The coastal wetlands of eastern China formone of the most important carbon sinks in the world. However, reclamation can significantly alter the soilcarbon pool dynamics in these areas. In this study, achronosequence was constructed for four reclamationzones in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, easternChina (reclaimed in 1951, 1974, 1982, and 2007) and areference salt marsh to identify both the process of soilorganic carbon (SOC) evolution, as well as the effect ofcropping and soil properties on SOC with time afterreclamation. The results show that whereas soil nutrientelements and SOC increased after reclamation, theelectrical conductivity of the saturated soil extract (ECe),pH, and bulk density decreased within 62 years followingreclamation and agricultural amendment. In general, thesoil's chemical properties remarkably improved and SOCincreased significantly for approximately 30 years afterreclamation. Reclamation for agriculture (rice and cotton)significantly increased the soil organic carbon density(SOCD) in the top 60 cm, especially in the top 0-30 cm.However, whereas the highest concentration of SOCD inrice-growing areas was in the top 0-20 cm of the soilprofile, it was greater at a 20-60 cm depth in cotton-growing areas. Reclamation also significantly increasedheavy fraction organic carbon (HFOC) levels in the 0-30cm layer, thereby enhancing the stability of the soil carbonpool. SOC can thus increase significantly over a long timeperiod after coastal reclamation, especially in areas ofcultivation, where coastal SOC pools in eastern China tendto be more stable.Jianguo LI Wenhui YANG Qiang LI Lijie PU Yan XU Zhongqi ZHANG Lili LIU 2018Frontiers of Earth Science2018,12,2:2

Photon-counting distributed free-space spectroscopy显示文摘Spectroscopy is a well-established nonintrusive tool that has played an important role in identifying and quantifying substances, from quantum descriptions to chemical and biomedical diagnostics.Challenges exist in accurate spectrum analysis in free space, which hinders us from understanding the composition of multiple gases and the chemical processes in the atmosphere.A photon-counting distributed free-space spectroscopy is proposed and demonstrated using lidar technique, incorporating a comb-referenced frequency-scanning laser and a superconducting nanowire single-photon detector. It is suitable for remote spectrum analysis with a range resolution over a wide band.As an example,a continuous field experiment is carried out over 72 h to obtain the spectra of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))and semi-heavy water(HDO,isotopic water vapor)in 6 km,with a range resolution of 60 m and a time resolution of 10 min.Compared to the methods that obtain only column-integrated spectra over kilometer-scale,the range resolution is improved by 2-3 orders of magnitude in this work. The CO_(2)and HDO concentrations are retrieved from the spectra acquired with uncertainties as low as±1.2%and±14.3%,respectively.This method holds much promise for increasing knowledge of atmospheric environment and chemistry researches, especially in terms of the evolution of complex molecular spectra in open areas.Saifen Yu Zhen Zhang Haiyun Xia Xiankang Dou Tengfei Wu Yihua Hu Manyi Li Mingjia Shangguan Tianwen Wei Lijie Zhao Lu Wang Pu Jiang Chengjun Zhang Lixing You Leigang Tao Jiawei Qiu 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,11:1

Effect of Refiner Plate Bar Angle and Pulp Properties on the Low Consistency Refining Efficiency in Terms of Power Consumption显示文摘Power consumption is the energy source of the impact on fibers or pulp during low-consistency(LC)pulp refining, and the strength of refining affects refining quality and efficiency. The pulp properties, operating parameters, and bar parameters of the refiner plates are important parameters affecting refining efficiency, which can be defined as the ratio of net to total refining power. In this study,LC refining trials for pulps with different consistencies and fiber lengths were conducted using five isometric straightbar plates with different bar angles to explore the influences of the plate bar angle and pulp properties on the no-load power, impact capacity on fibers and refining efficiency. It was found that the no-load power of the LC refining process decreased with an increase in the plate bar angle while increased when pulp with higher consistency was refined under the same refining conditions. However, the effect of pulp consistency on the no-load power can be neglected when refining is conducted using plates with larger bar angles.Meanwhile,a critical bar angle for straight-bar plates in LC refining may exist, which has the strongest impact on the pulp and highest refining efficiency under the same refining conditions. In addition, the impact capacity of the plate on the pulp and refining efficiency in LC refining can be enhanced by appropriately increasing the pulp consistency and average fiber length when the bar angle of the refiner plate with a sector angle of 40°is less than 30°.Therefore,the efficiency and power consumption of the LC refining process can be adjusted by optimizing the pulp consistency and bar parameters of the refining plates.Huan Liu Jixian Dong Yongping Pu Xiya Guo Lijie Qiao Yan Yan 2023Paper And Biomaterials2023,8,4:0
