| 1 | Environmental Arsenic and Selenium Contamination and Approaches Towards Its Bioremediation Through the Exploration of Microbial Adaptations:A Review显示文摘Bioaccumulation of selenium and arsenic resulting from geogenic activities and aggravated by anthropogenic actions has now become a serious environmental issue. Different parts of the world are experiencing issues of selenium and arsenic contamination, especially in soil and ground water. The present selenium and arsenic contamination scenario has been well represented in contemporary literature, and there are an array of remediation techniques targeting the decontamination of environmental contamination. The use of microbe-mediated remediation of selenium and arsenic contamination is gaining scientific attention for sustainable environmental bioremediation. | 2 | Efficient degradation of sulfamethoxazole by acetylene black activated peroxydisulfate显示文摘Acetylene black(AB),as a kind of carbon material with large specific surface area,low density,strong electron transferability,is supposed to have great potential for application in advanced oxidation processes(AOPs).In this study,AB was utilized as a peroxydisulfate(PDS)activator for the catalytic degradation of sulfamethoxazole(SMX)in aqueous media.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)techniques,zeta potential and Raman spectra were employed to characterize the features of AB.To verify the excellent performance of AB/PDS systems,a series of control experiments were carried out.Compared to graphite/PDS and biochar/PDS system,AB/PDS system could complete degradation of SMX within 15 min.Besides,the effects of key factors including AB dosage,PDS dosage,initial pH and SMX concentration on SMX degradation in AB/PDS system were elucidated systematically.Furthermore,through the radical quenching experiments,it was proved that singlet oxygen(1 O_(2))was dominantly responsible for the degradation of SMX.Finally,based on the experiment results and compre hensive analysis,a probable reaction mechanism of AB/PDS system for SMX degradation was proposed.This work suggests that AB has a good potential for tackling the hazardous pollutants in environmental remediation. | Silang Nimai Heng Zhang Zelin Wu Naiwen Li Bo Lai | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10: | 2 |
| 3 | Genetic Diversity Analysis of Rice Germplasm in Tripura State of Northeast India Using Drought and Blast Linked Markers显示文摘We genotyped 74 rice germplasms including Tripura's local landraces, improved varieties, cultivars and breeding lines and other rice varieties using molecular markers for genetic diversity, drought QTLs, and blast resistance genes. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 5 with an average of 2.9. The polymorphic information content value per locus ranged from 0.059(RM537) to 0.755(RM252) with an average of 0.475. Cluster analysis based on 30 simple sequence repeat markers revealed 5 clusters and also indicated the presence of variability within the rice accessions. The drought QTL q DTY2.1 was found in 56.0% of germplasms and q DTY1.1 was detected in only 6.8% of the germplasms. Out of seven rice blast resistance genes screened, only two rice varieties, RCPL-1-82 and Buh Vubuk(Lubuk), were positive for four blast resistance genes while only Releng possessed two blast resistance genes. Among 74 rice germplasms, only three accessions, Releng, RCPL1-82 and Buh Vubuk(Lubuk), possessed both drought-related QTLs and blast resistance genes. Overall, the 74 indigenous rice genotypes showed low level of genetic diversity, which is in contrast to high level of genetic diversity among rice varieties in northeast India, where highlights the good farming practice, conservation of germplasms and the limitation of molecular markers employed in this study.
