1Orange G degradation by heterogeneous peroxymonosulfate activation based on magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid显示文摘Wastewater containing an azo dye Orange G(OG)causes massive environmental pollution,thus it is critical to develop a highly effective,environmental-friendly,and reusable catalyst in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation for OG degradation.In this work,we successfully applied a magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid fabricated by a simple hydrothermal method for OG removal in water.The characteristics of the hybrid were investigated by Xray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method,vibrating sample magnetometry,electron paramagnetic resonance,thermogravimetric analysis,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The effects of operational parameters(i.e.,catalytic system,catalytic dose,solution pH,and temperature)were investigated.The results exhibited that 96.8% of OG degradation was obtained with MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO2(1:9)/PMS system in 30 min regardless of solution pH changes.Furthermore,the possible reaction mechanism of the coupling system was proposed,and the degradation intermediates of OG were identified by mass spectroscopy.The radical quenching experiments and EPR tests demonstrated that SO_(4)•̶,O_(2)•̶,and 1O2 were the primary reactive oxygen species responsible for the OG degradation.The hybrid also displayed unusual stability with less than 30%loss in the OG removal after four sequential cycles.Overall,magnetic MnFe2O4/α-MnO2 hybrid could be used as a high potential activator of PMS to remove orange G and maybe other dyes from wastewater.Le Thi Thao To Van Nguyen Van Quy Nguyen Ngoc Man Phan Ki Jae Kim Nguyen Nhat Huy Nguyen Trung Dung 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:3

3Photocatalytic removal of NO and NO_2 using titania nanotubes synthesized by hydrothermal method显示文摘In this study, the photocatalysts of titania nanotubes(TNTs) were synthesized at different calcination temperatures using commercial Degussa TiO2(P25) as a precursor. The materials were then characterized by BET, SEM, TEM, and XRD analyses. The photocatalytic reactions with NO and NO2 under UV-A irradiation were both performed. The results showed that the photocatalytic reaction rate of NO was much faster than that of NO2, and the conversion of NO2 to nitrate was the rate-limiting step for photocatalytic removal of NOx if the nitrate produced cannot be removed continuously from the photocatalyst surface. For TNTs calcined at different temperatures, a significant enhancement was observed on the total NOx removal efficiency by TNT calcined at 500°C for both NO and NO2 photocatalytic reaction, which could be attributed to its high anatase crystallinity as well as high surface area. These two factors affect primarily on the NO2conversion step in which the high anatase crystallinity could be responsible for the high efficiency at the beginning, while the high surface area could be accounted for retaining this high efficiency from nitric acid poisoning during the test period.Nhat Huy Nguyen Hsunling Bai 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,5:2
4Production of asiaticoside from centella(Centella asiatica L.Urban)cells in bioreactor显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of some culture conditions on production of asialicoside from centella(Centella asiatica L.Urban)cells cultured in 5-L bioreactor.Methods:The centell cell suspension culture was conducted in 5-L bioreactor to investigate the growth and asiaticoside accumulation under various conditions.Asiaticoside content was determined by HPLC analysis.Results:The results showed that the cell growth and asiaticoside accumulation peaked after 24d of culture at an agitation speed of 150 r/min and aeration rate of 2.5 L/min.The cell biomass reached a maximum value of 302.45 g fresh weight(31.43 g dry weight)and growth index of 3.03with inoculum size of 100 g.However,asiaticoside content was the highest(60.08 mg/g dry weight)when culture was initiated with an inoculum size of 50 g.Conclusions:The present study found the suitable conditions for growth of centella cells and their asiaticoside production in bioreactor.Nguyen Hoang Loc Nguyen Thi Duy Nhat 2013Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2013,3,10:2

16Association between measles antibodies in vaccinated and naturally infected mothers with protective antibodies and the occurrence of measles in their children:A cross-sectional study in the Bavi district of Hanoi显示文摘Objective:To determine the concentration and rate of decay of maternal IgG antibodies against measles prevalence in infants of vaccinated or naturally infected mothers and study initial measles immunization occurs in nine-month-old children.Methods:In total,401 pregnant women and the same number of their subsequent newborns were recruited in the Bavi district of Hanoi in 2016-2017;they were divided into two groups:Older women(born before 1985,n=201)and younger women(born after 1990,n=200).Samples were collected at five time-points;week 36 of pregnancy,birth(cord),and 3,6,and 9 months after birth.Measles-specific IgG antibody levels were recorded.Results:In total,77.06% of the 401 pregnant women were seropositive for measles-specific IgG antibodies.A significantly greater proportion of mothers aged 30 and older(88.06%)and their newborn(93.53%)were seropositive compared to the mothers aged 25 and younger(66.00%),and their newborn(72.00%)(P<0.001).The infants of older mothers had significantly higher geometric mean titres(GMT)of measles IgG antibodies than the infants of younger mothers(P<0.001)at all time-points of the study period.The proportion of measles IgG antibodies together with GMT decreased from 82.97%(506.96)at the age of three months to 23.19%(45.22)at the age of nine months.Conclusions:This study provides a profile of maternal antibodies against measles in Vietnamese infants and investigates the early susceptibility to measles in both the infants of vaccinated mothers and mothers with naturally acquired immunity.These data suggest that determining the appropriate age for measles vaccination is paramount for the elimination of measles in Vietnam.Cam Nhat Nguyen Quynh Ngoc Nguyen Than Huu Dao Le Thi Quynh Mai 2019Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2019,12,9:0

18An improved CRNN for Vietnamese Identity Card Information Recognition显示文摘This paper proposes an enhancement of an automatic text recognition system for extracting information from the front side of the Vietnamese citizen identity(CID)card.First,we apply Mask-RCNN to segment and align the CID card from the background.Next,we present two approaches to detect the CID card’s text lines using traditional image processing techniques compared to the EAST detector.Finally,we introduce a new end-to-end Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network(CRNN)model based on a combination of Connectionist Temporal Classification(CTC)and attention mechanism for Vietnamese text recognition by jointly train the CTC and attention objective functions together.The length of the CTC’s output label sequence is applied to the attention-based decoder prediction to make the final label sequence.This process helps to decrease irregular alignments and speed up the label sequence estimation during training and inference,instead of only relying on a data-driven attention-based encoder-decoder to estimate the label sequence in long sentences.We may directly learn the proposed model from a sequence of words without detailed annotations.We evaluate the proposed system using a real collected Vietnamese CID card dataset and find that our method provides a 4.28%in WER and outperforms the common techniques.Trinh Tan Dat Le Tran Anh Dang Nguyen Nhat Truong Pham Cung Le Thien Vu Vu Ngoc Thanh Sang Pham Thi Vuong Pham The Bao 2022Computer Systems Science & Engineering2022,40,2:0
19Nitric-oxide enriched plasma-activated water inactivates 229E coronavirus and alters antiviral response genes in human lung host cells显示文摘The ongoing pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus,SARS-CoV-2,is influencing global health.Moreover,there is a major threat of future coronaviruses affecting the entire world in a similar,or even more dreadful,manner.Therefore,effective and biocompatible therapeutic options against coronaviruses are urgently needed.To address this challenge,medical specialists require a well-informed and safe approach to treating human coronaviruses(HCoVs).Herein,an environmental friendly approach for viral inactivation,based on plasma technology,was considered.A microwave plasma system was employed for the generation of the high amount of gaseous nitric oxide to prepare nitric oxide enriched plasma-activated water(NO-PAW),the effects of which on coronaviruses,have not been reported to date.To determine these effects,alpha-HCoV-229E was used in an experimental model.We found that NO-PAW treatment effectively inhibited coronavirus infection in host lung cells,visualized by evaluating the cytopathic effect and expression level of spike proteins.Interestingly,NO-PAW showed minimal toxicity towards lung host cells,suggesting its potential for therapeutic application.Moreover,this new approach resulted in viral inactivation and greatly improved the gene levels involved in host antiviral responses.Together,our findings provide evidence of an initiation point for further progress toward the clinical development of antiviral treatments,including such coronaviruses.Nagendra Kumar Kaushik Pradeep Bhartiya Neha Kaushik Yungoh Shin Linh Nhat Nguyen Jang Sick Park Doyoung Kim Eun Ha Choi 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:0
20Study on Using Biological Sludge from Vinh Loc Industrial Park to Produce Composting Product显示文摘In order to examine the optimal design and operating parameters in composting of waste activated sludge,a series of experiments were conducted to discuss the optimal operating parameters for aerobic composting of waste activated sludge obtained from Vinh Loc Industrial Park that is located in Ho Chi Minh City.The study was done by optimizing the ratios of sludge/inactive fillers and sludge/microbial products to improve the composting efficiency.After 50 days of composting,the composts of all experiment batches met the microorganism-organic fertilizer standards of 10 TCN 526:2002.The study indicated that the highest efficiency decomposition was obtained at the ratio of a sludge/inactive fillers of 1/0.1 and sludge/microbial products of 1/0.05:TOC(Total Organic Carbon)reduced by 20.2%,loss of Nitrogen was trivial(0.53%),the highest temperature reached at 55.5 oC and lasting for 5 days which ensures elimination of pathogens.However,the addition of nitrogen compounds during the composting is necessary to ensure the compost product can meet the nitrogen standard of microorganism-organic fertilizer.Ton That Lang Nguyen Thi Mai Thao Pham Vu Nhat Uyen Dang Anh Tuan 2018Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering(A)2018,7,5:0
