2Risk factors for alcoholic liver disease in China显示文摘AIM: To examine the association of daily alcohol intake,types of alcoholic beverage consumed, drinking patterns and obesity with alcoholic liver disease in China.METHODS: By random cluster sampling and a 3-year follow-up study, 1 270 alcohol drinkers were recruited from different occupations in the urban and suburban areas of Xi'an City. They were examined by specialists and inquired for information on: Medical history and family medical history, alcohol intake, types of alcoholic beverage consumed, drinking patterns by detailed dietary questionnaires. Routine blood tests and ultrasonography were done.RESULTS: Multivariate analysis showed that: (1) The risk threshold for developing alcoholic liver disease was ingestion of more than 20 g alcohol per day, keeping on drinking for over 5 years in men. The highest OR was at the daily alcohol consumption ≥160 g, the occurrencerate of ALD amounted to 18.7% (P<0.01). No ALD occurred when ingestion of alcohol was less than 20 g per day. (2) 87.9% of all drank only at mealtimes. The cumulative risk of developing ALD was significantly higher in those individuals who regularly drank alcohol without food than in those who drank only at mealtimes, especially for those who regularly drank hard liquors only and multiple drinks (P<0.05). (3) The alcohol consumption in those with BMI ≥25 was lower than in those with BMI<25, but the risk increased to 11.5%, significantly higher than that of general population, 6.5% (P<0.01). (4) Abstinence and weight reduction could benefit the liver function recovery.CONCLUSION: In the Chinese population the ethanol risk threshold for developing ALD is 20 g per day, and this risk increases with increased daily intake. Drinking 20 g of ethanol per day and for less than 5 years are safe from ALD. Drinking alcohol outside mealtimes and drinking hard liquors only and multiple different alcohol beverages both increase the risk of developing ALD. 3Primary dolostone related to the Cretaceous lacustrine hydrothermal sedimentation in Qingxi sag, Jiuquan Basin on the northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Based on comprehensive studies in petrography,petrofabric analysis and geochemistry,this paper describes a unique and rare laminated micritic ferruginous primary dolostone crystallized and precipitated from the alkaline hot brine under the conditions of the Mesozoic faulted lake basin.The main rock-forming mineral of this dolostone is ferruginous dolomite with a micritic structure.This dolomite mostly exhibits laminae of 0.1–1 mm thick and is often discovered with other minerals,such as albite,analcite,barite and dickite,which have at least two types of interbedded laminae.Petrogeochemistry reveals that this dolostone contains a large number of typomorphic elements of hydrothermal sedimentation,including Sb,Ba,Sr,Mn,and V.In addition,the LREE is in relatively high concentrations and possesses the typical REE distribution pattern with negative Eu anomaly.Oxygen isotope values(δ18OPDB)range from 5.89‰to 14.15‰with an average of 9.69‰.The ratio of87Sr/86Sr is between0.711648 and 0.719546,with an average of 0.714718.These data indicate that the depositional environment is a stable,blocked,anoxic low-lying hot brine pool in the bottom of deep lake controlled by basement faults.The hydrothermal fluid is the alkaline hot brine formed by the combination of the infiltration lake water and mantle-derived magmatic water,consisting of many ions,including Ca2+,Mg2+and Fe2+.Under the driving flow power of magmatic heat,gravity and compaction,the hydrothermal fluid overcame the overburden pressure and hydrostatic pressure of the lake water body,and boiled to explosion,and then the explosion shattered the original laminated micritic ferruginous primary dolostone near the vent and then formed a new type of dolostone called shattered'hydroexplosion breccias'.In the low-lying,unperturbed hot brine pool,far from the vent,the laminated micritic ferruginous primary dolostone was quickly crystallized and chemicals precipitated from the hydrotherm.This study of special rocks contributes to research into the causes of the formation of lacustrine carbonate rocks and dolostone.In particular,it provides new examples and research insights for future studies of the lacustrine dolomite from the similar Mesozoic and Cenozoic basins in China.WEN HuaGuo ZHENG RongCai QING HaiRuo FAN MingTao LI YanAn GONG BoShi 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,12:12

5Synthesis and characterization of boron nitride sponges as a novel support for metal nanoparticles显示文摘This paper describes a simple synthetic route for the synthesis of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) powders with high specific surface area, in which BBr3, NH4Cl and Al powders are used as starting materials. The structure and composition of the powders were characterized by electron diffraction, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in the selected area. X-ray diffraction shows wide peaks of crystalline h-BN with the particle size on the nanometer scale, and transmission electron microscopy reveals that the products have a novel spongy morphology. Silver nanoparticles loaded h-BN sponges were prepared via a one-step synthesis method. 6MoS2 nanorods with inner caves through synchronous encapsulation of sulfur for high performance Li–S cathodes显示文摘Lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries have become one of the most promising candidates for next-generation batteries owing to their high specific capacity,low cost,and environment-friendliness.Many efforts have been made to mitigate the'shuttle effect'through physical adsorption and chemical bonding.MoS2 has been proposed as a cathode material to provide effective anchoring sites for lithium polysulfides(Li PSs),but is still limited by its layer structure.Herein,we designed novel MoS2 nanorods with inner caves based on our previous work,and performed synchronous encapsulation of sulfur during the synthesis process.The outer MoS2 tubular shells physically inhibit the outward diffusion of polysulfide species while the inner particles chemically anchor the polysulfides to prevent shuttling.As the cathode matrix in Li–S batteries,the electrochemical results deliver a high initial discharge capacity of 1213 mAhg^-1 for sulfur at 0.1 C.After cycling at 1 C for 300 cycles,the cells exhibit a capacity decay of only 0.076%per cycle and high average coulombic efficiency over 95%.The tubular MoS2 structure is an innovative and appealing design,which could be regarded as a prospective substrate for the improved performance of Li–S batteries.Yikun Yi Zechen Liu Pu Yang Tao Wang Xuewen Zhao Hongyang Huang Yonghong Cheng Jinying Zhang Mingtao Li 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,6:5
7An Improved vTPM-VM Live Migration Protocol显示文摘To prevent malicious virtual machine from harming the security of vTPM-VM live migration process, we propose an improved vTPM-VM live migration protocol which uses a TPM-based integrity verification policy and a specific encryption scheme to enhance security. The TPM-based integrity verification policy is presented to ensure that all participating entities in this process are trustworthy. In data transfer phase, the specific encryption scheme is designed to associate the decipher process with one certain platform status so that only the destination platform can gain the key data of the migrated VM and vTPM instance. The security of this new protocol is analyzed. 8Optically spatial information selection with hybridly polarized beam in atomic vapor显示文摘Vector beams with spatially variant polarization have attracted much attention in recent years, with potential applications in both classical optics and quantum optics. In this work, we study a polarization selection of spatial intensity distribution by utilizing a hybridly polarized beam as a coupling beam and a circularly polarized beam as a probe beam in87 Rb atom vapor. We experimentally observe that the spatial intensity distribution of the probe beam after passing through atoms can be modulated by the hybridly polarized beam due to the optical pumping effect. Then, the information loaded in the probe beam can be designedly filtrated by an atomic system with a high extinction ratio. 10Powermitter:Data Exfiltration from Air-Gapped Computer through Switching Power Supply显示文摘Air-gapped computers are isolated both logically and physically from all kinds of existing common communication channel, such as USB ports, wireless and wired networks. Although the feasibility of infiltrating an air-gapped computer has been proved in recent years, data exfiltration from such systems is still considered to be a challenging task. In this paper we present Powermitter, a novel approach that can exfiltrate data through an air-gapped computer via its power adapter. Our method utilizes the switched-mode power supply, which exists in all of the laptops, desktop computers and servers nowadays. We demonstrate that a malware can indirectly control the electromagnetic emission frequency of the power supply by leveraging the CPU utilization. Furthermore, we show that the emitted signals can be received and demodulated by a dedicated device. We present the proof of concept design of the power covert channel and implement a prototype of Powermitter consisting of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter leaks out data by using a variant binary frequency shift keying modulation, and the emitted signal can be captured and decoded by software based virtual oscilloscope through such covert channel. We tested Powermitter on three different computers. The experiment re-sults show the feasibility of this power covert channel. 12Learning online structural appearance model for robust object tracking显示文摘The main challenge of robust object tracking comes from the difficulty in designing an adaptive appearance model that is able to accommodate appearance variations.Existing tracking algorithms often perform self-updating of the appearance model with examples from recent tracking results to account for appearance changes.However,slight inaccuracy of tracking results can degrade the appearance model.In this paper,we propose a robust tracking method by evaluating an online structural appearance model based on local sparse coding and online metric learning.Our appearance model employs pooling of structural features over the local sparse codes of an object region to obtain a middle-level object representation.Tracking is then formulated by seeking for the most similar candidate within a Bayesian inference framework where the distance metric for similarity measurement is learned in an online manner to match the varying object appearance.Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations on various challenging image sequences demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.YANG Min PEI MingTao WU YuWei JIA YunDe 2015Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,3:4
13Object registration for remote sensing images using robust kernel pattern vectors显示文摘The registration of multitemperal remote sensing images before and after a disaster is a challenging problem.The main reason is that there is a dearth of homologous features that can be used as tie points for registration of variform objects.This paper proposes a new registration method based on robust kernel pattern vector(KPV) for water objects in the remote sensing images,which have complex deformation before and after a disaster.We show how the variform objects can be precisely registered using their robust kernel pattern vectors(RKPVs).The contribution can be divided into three parts.First,a novel shape descriptor,named as kernel pattern vector(KPV),is defined.Second,a robust kernel principal component analysis(RKPCA) method is proposed,which can not only capture the common pattern of the variform objects but can also act as the Criterion for outlier detection.Finally,a registration approach is derived based on the implicit RKPVs.We demonstrate the power of the proposed approach by comparing it with other existing methods using two real cases:one for lake monitoring in the Jiayu region,and the other for damage mapping of earthquake-induced barrier lake at Tangjiashan(2008 Wenchuan Earthquake).The results show that the method is effective in capturing the common structural pattern of the variform objects before and after a disaster.DING MingTao JIN Zi TIAN Zheng DUAN XiFa ZHAO Wei YANG LiJuan 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,11:3

15Learning a discriminative mid-level feature for action recognition显示文摘In this paper,we address the problem of recognizing human actions from videos.Most of the existing approaches employ low-level features(e.g.,local features and global features)to represent an action video.However,algorithms based on low-level features are not robust to complex environments such as cluttered background,camera movement and illumination change.Therefore,we propose a novel random forest learning framework to construct a discriminative and informative mid-level feature from low-level features of densely sampled 3D cuboids.Each cuboid is classified by the corresponding random forests with a novel fusion scheme,and the cuboid’s posterior probabilities of all categories are normalized to generate a histogram.After that,we obtain our mid-level feature by concatenating histograms of all the cuboids.Since a single low-level feature is not enough to capture the variations of human actions,multiple complementary low-level features(i.e.,optical flow and histogram of gradient 3D features)are employed to describe 3D cuboids.Moreover,temporal context between local cuboids is exploited as another type of low-level feature.The above three low-level features(i.e.,optical flow,histogram of gradient 3D features and temporal context)are effectively fused in the proposed learning framework.Finally,the mid-level feature is employed by a random forest classifier for robust action recognition.Experiments on the Weizmann,UCF sports,Ballet,and multi-view IXMAS datasets demonstrate that out mid-level feature learned from multiple low-level features can achieve a superior performance over state-of-the-art methods.LIU CuiWei PEI MingTao WU XinXiao KONG Yu JIA YunDe 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,5:3

19Application and optimization of solid-state fermentation process for enhancing polygalacturonase production by Penicillium expansum显示文摘Penicillium expansum 3.5425 was applied in solid-state fermentation(SSF)of agricultural wastes for polygalacturonase biosynthesis.Among various carbon additives,apple pomace was most suitable for the biosynthesis of polygalacturonase(1440.57 U/g).Optimization of medium parameters using rotational orthogonal design(ROD)experiment combined with optimal fermentation conditions resulted in a 2.72-fold increase in the polygalacturonase production.By using ammonium sulphate precipitation,ion-exchange and gel-permeation chromatography,the polygalacturonase produced by P.expansum 3.5425 was finally purified which had specific activity of 19269 U/mg and molecular weight of 30 kDa.The enzyme was remarkably active in the pH range of 3-5 and at 50℃,which makes it more acceptable in the industrial application.Besides,partially purified polygalacturonase(875.15 U/mL)was used for apple juice clarification and the clarity at 0.4 mL/kg was maximum,which reveals a great potential of polygalacturonase in food industry.Mingming Zhu Hongju He Mingtao Fan Hanjun Ma Haiwei Ren Jie Zeng Haiyan Gao 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:2
