1Robotic surgery for rectal cancer: A systematic review of current practice显示文摘AIM: To give a comprehensive review of current litera-ture on robotic rectal cancer surgery.METHODS: A systematic review of current literature via PubMed and Embase search engines was per-formed to identify relevant articles from january 2007 to november 2013. The keywords used were: 'robotic surgery', 'surgical robotics', 'laparoscopic computer-assisted surgery', 'colectomy' and 'rectal resection'. RESULTS: After the initial screen of 380 articles, 20 pa-pers were selected for review. A total of 1062 patients(male 64.0%) with a mean age of 61.1 years and body mass index of 24.9 kg/m2 were included in the review.Out of 1062 robotic-assisted operations, 831(78.2%) anterior and low anterior resections, 132(12.4%) in-tersphincteric resection with coloanal anastomosis, 98(9.3%) abdominoperineal resections and 1(0.1%) Hart-mann's operation were included in the review. Robotic rectal surgery was associated with longer operative time but with comparable oncological results and anastomotic leak rate when compared with laparoscopic rectal surgery. CONCLUSION: Robotic colorectal surgery has con-tinued to evolve to its current state with promising re-sults; feasible surgical option with low conversion rate and comparable short-term oncological results. 2Psychometrics of the chronic liver disease questionnaire for Southern Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection显示文摘AIM:To test the psychometric properties of a Chinese [(Hong Kong) HK] translation of the chronic liver disease questionnaire (CLDQ).METHODS:A Chinese (HK) translation of the CLDQ was developed by iterative translation and cognitive debriefing.It was then administered to 72 uncomplicated and 78 complicated chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients in Hong Kong together with a structured questionnaire on service utilization,and the Chinese (HK) SF-36 Health Survey Version 2 (SF-36v2).RESULTS:Scaling success was ≥ 80% for all but three items.A new factor assessing sleep was found and items of two (Fatigue and Systemic Symptoms) subscales tended to load on the same factor.Internal consistency and test-retest reliabilities ranged from 0.58-0.90 for different subscales.Construct validity was confirmed by the expected correlations between the SF-36v2 Health Survey and CLDQ scores.Mean scores of CLDQ were significantly lower in complicated compared with uncomplicated CHB,supporting sensitivity in detecting differences between groups.CONCLUSION:The Chinese (HK) CLDQ is valid,reliable and sensitive for patients with CHB.Some modif ications to the scaling structure might further improve its psychometric properties.Elegance Ting Pui Lam Cindy Lo Kuen Lam Ching Lung Lai Man Fung Yuen Daniel Yee Tak Fong 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,26:16
3Characterizing the optimal operation of photocatalytic degradation of BDE-209 by nano-sized TiO_2显示文摘Brominated flame retardants have been widely used in industry.There is a rapid growing public concern for their availabilities in the environment.Advanced oxidation process(AOP) is a promising and efficient technology which may be used to remove emerging chemicals such as brominated flame retardants.This study aims at investigating optimal operational conditions for the removal of BDE-209 using nano-scaled titanium(IV) oxide.The residual PBDE congeners after photocatalytical degradation of BDE-209 by TiO 2 were analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).It was found that the degradability of BDE-209 by TiO 2 was attributed to its photocatalytic activity but not the small size of the particles.The half-life of removing BDE-209 by TiO 2 was 3.05 days under visible light.Tetra-and penta-BDEs were the major degraded products of BDE-209.Optimum conditions for photocatalytical degradation of BDE-209 was found to be at pH 12(93% ± 1%),5,10,20 mg/L(93.0% ± 1.70%,91.6% ± 3.21%,91.9% ± 0.952%,respectively),respectively of humic acid and in the form of anatase/rutile TiO 2(82% ± 3%).Hence,the efficiency of removing BDE-209 can be maximized while being cost effective at the said operating conditions.Ka Lai Chow Yu Bon Man Jin Shu Zheng Yan Liang Nora Fung Yee Tam Ming Hung Wong 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9:8

8天然气分散制氢的技术经济分析(英文)显示文摘It is well established that hydrogen has the potential to make a significant contribution to the world energy production.In U.S.,majority of hydrogen production plants implement steam methane reforming(SMR) for centralized hydrogen production.However,there is a wide lack of agreement on the nascent stage of using hydrogen as fuel in vehicles industry because of the difficulty in delivery and storage.By performing technological and economic analysis,this work aims to establish the most feasible hydrogen production pathway for automotives in near future.From the evaluation,processes such as thermal cracking of ammonia and centralized hydrogen production followed by bulk delivery are eliminated while on-site steam reforming of methanol and natural gas are the most technologically feasible options.These two processes are further evaluated by comprehensive economic analysis.The results showed that the steam reforming(SR) of natural gas has a shorter payback time and a higher return on investment(ROI) and internal rate of return(IRR).Sensitivity analysis has also been constructed to evaluate the impact of variables like NG feedstock price,capital of investment and operating capacity factor on the overall production cost of hydrogen.Based on this study,natural gas is prompted to be the most economically and technologically available raw material for short-term hydrogen production before the transition to renewable energy source such as solar energy,biomass and wind power.LUK Ho Ting LEI Ho Man NG Wai Yee LAM Koon Fung 2012Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2012,20,3:2

15An Investigation of Effect of Stand-Off Distance on the Material Removal Characteristics and Surface Generation in Fluid Jet Polishing显示文摘Fluid jet polishing(FJP)is a versatile polishing process that has many advantages compared to other polishing processes.Stand-off distance(SOD)is one of the key parameters in flu id jet polishi ng.However,relatively little research work has been carried out to investigate its effect of SOD on material removal characteristics and surface generation in FJP.In this paper,a systematic investigation of the effect of SOD on the tool influence function and surface topography in FJP was conducted.Experiments were designed for FJP two kinds of materials corresponding to ductile and brittle materials.They are nickel copper(NiCu)alloy and BK7 optical glass,respectively.In this study,the SOD was varied from 2 to 35 mm.Analysis and discussions were made on its effect on the shape of TIF,material removal rate,and surface topography.It is interesting to note that the TIF shape becomes a Gaussian-like shape with large SOD both on NiCu and BK7,which provides a novel way to optimize the TIF in FJP.The variation of the material removal rate and surface roughness versus SOD on NiCu and BK7 were also determined from the experimental results.Moreover,the surface topography of NiCu and BK7 were characterized from the results measured from the white light interferometer and scan electron microscope.The outcome of the study provides a better understanding of the material removal characteristics and surface generation mechanism in FJP.Chun Jin Wang Chi Fai Cheung Lai Ting Ho Yee Man Loh 2020Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2020,3,2:1
