| 1 | Protective effect of periplaneta americana extract on intestinal mucosal barrier function in patients with sepsis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of the periplaneta americana extract on the intestinal mucosal barrier and prognostic implications in patients with sepsis. METHODS: Sixty and six patients with sepsis were assigned randomly to treatment group (32 cases) and control group (32 cases). The extractfrom periplaneta americana plus conventional medication for sepsis was administered to the treatment group, while the control group only received conventional treatment. The gastrointestinal function scores and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II (APACHEⅡ) scores of all subjects were documented at baseline, at days 1, 3 and 7 after treatment respectively and their blood endotoxin was tested at the same time points as well.The incidence of death was recorded for both groups throughout the trial. RESULTS: At days 3 and 7 after treatment, gastroin-testinal function score, APACHE II, and endotoxin level in treatment group wasbetter than that in control group and the difference between them was significant (both P<0.05). Although the incidence of death in treatment group was less than that in control group, the difference between the two groups was not significant (P> 0.05). | 2 | Efficacy and safety evaluation of intravenous infusion of cervus and cucumis polypeptides for treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head: a randomized clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravenous cervus and cucumis polypeptides for treating avascular necrosis of the femoral head(ANFH) in regard to pain and hip function in a randomized clinical trial.METHODS: A total of 96 subjects with ANFH who were recruited at the Orthopaedic Hospital Affiliated with Hebei United University and Qian Hai Femoral Head Hospital of Beijing were assigned by lottery to an intervention group(n = 48) or a control group(n = 48). All subjects underwent physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises. In addition,subjects in the intervention group were given intravenous infusions of cervus and cucumis polypeptides. Visual analogue scale(VAS), Harris hip score,and radiography or magnetic resonance imaging were applied to assess all subjects at the beginning of treatment and 3, 6, and 9 months afterward. All the subjects were followed up for 2 years.RESULTS: At the beginning of treatment, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of the general condition of patients or the VAS and Harris hip scores(all P > 0.05). At 3, 6, and 9 months after treatment,however, the VAS score decreased and the Harris hip score increased in all patients, with the improvement of intervention group significantly greater than that of the control group(P < 0.05).The total effectiveness rates for the intervention and control groups were 89.58% and 70.83%, respectively, with the difference being statistically significant(P < 0.05). | 5 | Protective effect of Xuebijing injection on myocardial injury in patients with sepsis: a randomized clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect and possible mechanism of Xuebijing Injection on myocardial injury in patients with sepsis, and to evaluate its prognostic implications.METHODS: Patients with septic myocardial injury were recruited, and were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group and control group. All patients in two groups received conventional cluster treatment, the patients in treatment group additional received Xuebijing injection dissolved in0.9% sodium chloride injection, and the patients in control group received the same amount of 0.9%sodium chloride injection. At the beginning of treatment and 3, 7 and 10-day after treatment, lab-oratory indicators of cardiac troponin Ⅰ(cTnI),N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-pro BNP) and procalcitonin(PCT) were respectively tested in venous blood. The patient's length of stay in Intensive Care Unit(ICU) and the mortality in 28 days were recorded.RESULTS: At 3, 7 and 10-day after treatment, the improvements of c Tn I, NT-pro BNP and PCT in treatment group were better than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05). The mortality of treatment group in28 days was not significantly different from that of control group(P > 0.05). | 8 | Research and Design of Hydro-mechanical Continuously Variable Transmission for Tractors显示文摘A new type continuous variable transmission device, a hydro-mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) for agricultural tractors is developed, which is composed of a single planetary gear differential train, a hydraulic transmission system consisted of variable displacement pump and fixed displacement motor and a multi-gear fixed step radio transmission. Based on the analysis of types of hydrostatic mechanical transmission(HMT) and styles of hydraulic transmission, the general drive scheme for HMCVT is obtained. The method of selecting mechanical parameters and hydraulic units is explained, and the stepless speed regulation characteristic of HMCVT is analyzed. This paper also specializes the calculating method of transmission efficiency. | 18 | Recombination function and recombination kinetics of Escherichia coli single-stranded DNA-binding protein显示文摘It is unknown whether the ss DNA-binding-protein(SSB) possesses the ability to catalyze DNA recombination.We investigated the recombination function of SSB and the recombination kinetics of Escherichia coli using a new transformation method with a modified double-layered plate.We found that SSB catalysed intermolecular recombination in vitro.Its intermolecular recombination rate versus substrate concentration or homologous sequence length fitted the Hill equation,and while the plasmid intramolecular recombination rate versus substrate concentration fitted a positively linear correlation,the dominant intermolecular recombination was a non-homologous recombination in vivo,similar to Rec A.However,ssb-dependent recombination occurred later and at a lower recombination rate than the rec A-dependent,probably because ssb expression was about two-fold lower than rec A during the E.coli earlier growth stage.The affinity to substrate and the recombination efficiency of SSB was lower than Rec A,whereas SSB enhanced the catalytic efficiency of Rec A.Knocking out both rec A and ssb led to loss of recombination.Our results confirmed that as SSB has the recombination function itself as an allosteric enzyme,rec Aindependent recombination in E.coli should be ssb-dependent.ssb-dependent recombination may be the third DNA double-strand break repair pathway,in addition to rec Adependent recombination and non-homologous end joining. | Ran Chai Chaohui Zhang Fang Tian Huiru Li Qianlong Yang Andong Song Liyou Qiu | 2016 | Science Bulletin2016，61，20： | 1 |
