| 1 | Role of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity in 2,2′,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether sorption onto biochars显示文摘The study provides insight into the combined effect of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity on2,2 ′,4,4 ′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47) sorption onto biochars. A series of biochars prepared underdifferent conditionswere used to test their sorption behaviorswith BDE-47. The extents of sorption behaviorswere parameterized in terms of the single-point adsorption equilibrium constant (Koc ) at three equilibrium concentration (C e ) levels (0.001Sw (solubility), 0.005Sw , and 0.05Sw )whichwasdetermined using the Freundlich model. To elucidate the concentration-dependentdominant mechanisms for BDE-47 sorption onto biochars, K ocwas correlatedwith four major parameters using multiple parameter linear analysis accompaniedwith significance testing. The results indicated that at low concentration (Ce = 0.001Sw ), the surface microporosity term, which represented a pore-filling mechanism, contributed significantly to this relationship, while as concentrationwas increased to higher levels, surface functionality related to surface adsorption began to take thedominant role, whichwas further confirmed by the results of Polanyi-based modeling. Given the above results, adual mode model based on Dubinin-Radushkevich andde Boer-Zwikker equationswas adopted to quantitatively assess the changes of significance of surface adsorption aswell as that of pore fillingwith sorption processdevelopment. In addition, UV spectra of four typical aromatic compoundswhich represented the key structural fragments of biochars before and after interactionswith BDE-47were analyzed todetermine the active functional groups and supply complementary evidence for thedominant interaction force for surface adsorption, based onwhich π-π electron-donor-acceptor interactionwas proposed to contribute greatly to surface adsorption. | Jia Xin Ruilong Liu Hubo Fan Meilan Wang Miao Li Xiang Liu | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,7: | 6 |
| 2 | Roles of lncRNAs in Rice: Advances and Challenges显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) larger than 200 nucleotides in length are eukaryotic RNAs, and do not encode proteins. lncRNAs are considered to be important regulators in many biological processes in plants. In this review, the latest advances in the roles of lncRNAs in rice were reviewed, and functions of lncRNAs were further summarized and classified. lncRNAs play crucial roles in tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses such as disease, drought, heat, cold, heavy metal, and starvation of nitrogen and phosphorus in rice. In addition, lncRNAs also regulate various growth and development processes in rice. Finally, the prospect and challenges of rice lncRNA function research in future were proposed. This review will not only help us quickly grasp the frontiers of lncRNAs functional research progresses, but also propose suggestions and ideas for the directions of further lncRNA research in rice. | Gao Caixia Zheng Xiuwen Li Hubo Ussi Ali Mlekwa Gao Yu Xiong Jie | 2020 | Rice science2020,27,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Functions of Nitrogen,Phosphorus and Potassium in Energy Status and Their Influences on Rice Growth and Development显示文摘Nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P)and potassium(K)are important essential nutrients for plant growth and development, but their functions in energy status remains unclear. Here,we grew Nipponbare rice seedlings in a growth chamber for 20 d at 30℃/24℃day/night)under natural sunlight conditions with different nutrient regimes. The results showed that N had the strongest influence on the plant growth and development, followed by P and K.The highest nonstructural carbohydrate content, dry matter weight, net photosynthetic rate(Pn),ATP content,as well as NADH dehydrogenase, cytochrome oxidase and ATPase activities were found in the plants that received sufficient N,P and K.The lowest values of these parameters were detected in the N-deficient plants.Higher dry matter accumulation was observed in the K-deficient than in the P-deficient treatments, but there was no significant difference in the ratio of respiration rate to Pn between these two treatments, suggesting that differences in energy production efficiency may have accounted for this result. This hypothesis was confirmed by higher ATP contents and activities of NADH dehydrogenase, cytochrome oxidase and ATPase in the K-deficient plants than in the P-deficient plants. We therefore inferred different abilities in energy production efficiency among N,P and K in rice seedlings, which determined rice plant growth and development. | MA Jiaying CHEN Tingting LIN Jie FU Weimeng FENG Baohua LI Guangyan LI Hubo LI Juncai WU Zhihai TAO Longxing FU Guanfu | 2022 | Rice science2022,29,2: | 0 |
| 4 | Real option-based optimization for financial incentive allocation in infrastructure projects under publicprivate partnerships显示文摘Financial incentives that stimulate energy investments under public-private partnerships are considered scarce public resources, which require deliberate allocation to the most economically justified projects to maximize the social benefits. This study aims to solve the financial incentive allocation problem through a real option-based nonlinear integer programming approach.Real option theory is leveraged to determine the optimal timing and the corresponding option value of providing financial incentives. The ambiguity in the evolution of social benefits, the decision-maker’s attitude toward ambiguity, and the uncertainty in social benefits and incentive costs are all considered.Incentives are offered to the project portfolio that generates the maximum total option value. The project portfolio selection is formulated as a stochastic knapsack problem with random option values in the objective flinction and random incentive costs in the probabilistic budget constraint. The linear probabilistic budget constraint is subsequently transformed into a nonlinear deterministic one. Finally, the integer non-linear programming problem is solved, and the optimality gap is computed to assess the quality of the optimal solution.A case study is presented to illustrate how the limited financial incentives can be optimally allocated under uncertainty and ambiguity, which demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed method. | Shuai LI Da HU Jiannan CAI Hubo CAI | 2020 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2020,7,3: | 0 |
