1Association between Vitamin D Insufficiency and the Risk for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnant Chinese Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association between vitamin D deficiency and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) in pregnant Chinese women.Methods A nested case-control study was conducted.Clinical and biochemical data were analyzed for 200 subjects with GDM and 200 subjects with normal glucose tolerance(NGT).Results The median(interquartile range) serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25OHD) levels were 22.39(17.67,29.38) and 25.86(19.09,34.88) nmol/L in the GDM and NGT groups,respectively.Rates of 25OHD deficiency or insufficiency were significantly higher in the GDM group than in the NGT group.Subjects with 25OHD levels <25 nmol/L had a 1.8-fold higher risk of GDM compared with subjects with higher vitamin D levels.In the GDM group,serum 25OHD was independently associated with HbA1c and insulin resistance after adjusting for confounding factors.In the NGT group,serum 25OHD was independently associated with fasting plasma glucose and systolic blood pressure after adjusting for maternal age and other confounding factors.Conclusion 25OHD insufficiency is very common in Chinese women.Low 25OHD status may be associated with insulin resistance and act as a risk factor for GDM.WANG Ou NIE Min HU Ying Ying ZHANG Kui LI Wei PING Fan LIU Jun Tao CHEN Li Meng XING Xiao Ping 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,4:21

3Application of a catch-based method for stock assessment of three important fisheries in the East China Sea显示文摘Most fisheries in China do not have maximum sustainable yield(MSY) estimates due to limited and poor data.Therefore, finding a common method to estimate MSY or total allowable catch(TAC) for fishery management is necessary. MSYs of three important fisheries in the East China Sea were evaluated through a catch-based model.Estimates for intrinsic rate of increase(r) and five levels of process error were considered. Results showed hairtail Trichiurus japonicas(Temminck and Schlegel) and small yellow croaker Larimichthys polyactis(Bleeker) fisheries experienced overfishing from the mid-1990 s to the early 2000 s, and the suggested TACs were 55.8×10~4 t and9.06×10~4 t, respectively. 4Serum Uric Acid is Associated with the Predicted Risk of Prevalent Cardiovascular Disease in a Community-dwelling Population without Diabetes显示文摘Objective To examine the association between serum uric acid levels and cardiovascular disease risk among individuals without diabetes. Methods We investigated the association between serum uric acid levels and the risk of prevalent cardiometabolic diseases, 10-year Framingham risk for coronary heart disease, and 10-year risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases(ASCVD) among 8,252 participants aged ≥ 40 years without diabetes from Jiading district, Shanghai, China. Results Body mass index, waist circumference, blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, blood pressure, and serum lipids increased progressively across the sex-specific quartiles of uric acid(all P trend < 0.05). Compared with individuals in the lowest quartile, those in the higher quartiles had a significantly higher prevalence of obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia(all P trend < 0.05). A fully adjusted logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals in the highest quartile had an increased risk of predicted cardiovascular disease compared with those in the lowest quartile of uric acid. The multivariate adjusted odds ratios(ORs) [95% confidence intervals(CIs)] for the highest quartiles for high Framingham risk were 3.00(2.00-4.50) in men and 2.95(1.08-8.43) in women. The multivariate adjusted ORs(95% CIs) for the highest quartile for high ASCVD risk were 1.93(1.17-3.17) in men and 4.53(2.57-7.98) in women. 5miR-93-5p Transferred by Exosomes Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Cancer Cells via Intercellular Communication by Targeting PTEN显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma miR-93-5p and the risk of esophageal cancer, as well as the influence of miR-93-5p on the biological function of esophageal cancer cells,exerted through exosomes.Methods The expression of plasma miR-93-5p in esophageal cancer patients and healthy controls was analysed by real-time quantitative PCR. The influence of miR-93-5p on the risk and prognosis of esophageal carcinoma was analyzed by conditional logistic regression and survival analysis. The effect of miR-93-5p on the biological function of recipient cells was investigated by establishing an in vitro donor cell co-culture model. 6Discovery of marine fossils in the upper part of the Permian Linxi Formation in Lopingian, Xingmeng area, China显示文摘Two important geological issues have a long history of debate in the Xingmeng area.The first concerns the final closure of the North China plate,Siberia plate and several intermediate massifs in the area,and the other concerns the folding and lifting of the Xingmeng Trough.Disagreements arise because of issues involving the tectonicpalaeogeographical environment of the Upper Permian deposits of the Linxi Formation.The Linxi Formation(Upper Permian)is generally considered to be either an exclusively continental deposit or separated into marineterrigenous facies deposited during the Lower to Middle Linxi Period and continental deposits in the Upper Linxi Period.However,in this study,large numbers of bryozoan and sponge spicule fossils were discovered for this first time in the thick limestone layers and lenses of the upper part of the Linxi Formation found in the Guandi section of Linxi county in eastern Inner Mongolia.At the same time,abundant bryozoan fossils were also found in sedimentary tuff slices that were collected from the upper part of the Taohuayingzi Formation from the Taohuayingzi section in Ar Horqin Banner,and abundant small connecting body crinoid stem fossils were found in the dark shale of the Yangjiagou Formation from the Yangjiagou section of Jiutai county,Jilin Province.These marine fossils provide the first evidence that the Xingmeng area was still a marine or mainly marine environment at the end of the late Permian.This not only provides conclusive evidence for the recognition of the above two major geological issues but also promotes changes in the approach towards research,exploration and development of oil and gas,shale gas(oil),and other mineral resources that are preserved in the late Permian layers of the Northeast-Xingmeng area.Yongsheng Zhang Shugang Tian Zishun Li Yuexuan Gong Enyuan Xing Zhuozhuo Wang Daxing Zhai Cao Jie Su Kui Wang Meng 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,1:6
7Analysis of Phthalate Esters in Air, Soil and Plants in Plastic Film Greenhouse显示文摘The phthalate esters such as DMP, DEP, DBP and DEHP in air, soil and plant samples in plastic film greenhouse were clean up with fine silica gel column and determined with HPLC. It was found that the concentrations of PEs in air and soil samples in plastic film greenhouse are much higher than those of contrast samples. 8Preparation of polyacrylamide/silica composite capsules by inverse Pickering emulsion polymerization显示文摘Polyacrylamide/silica(PAM/SiO_2) composite capsules were synthesized by inverse Pickering emulsion polymerization.Silica nanoparticles modified with methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPS) were used as a stabilizer.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transform infrared(FT1R) spectroscopy,and thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA) were used to characterize the morphology and composition of the composite capsules.SEM and TEM images showed that capsules consisted of a particle shell and a polymer inner layer.The capsule size depends on the nanoparticle concentration in the continuous phase.The composite rigidity largely depends on the acrylamide concentration.FTIR and TGA results indicated the existence of polyacrylamide and SiO_2 in the composite particles.Aqueous Hg(Ⅱ) removal testing by the PAM/SiO_2 composite capsules indicated promising potential for removing heavy metal ions from wastewater.Kui Zhang Qian Wang Hong Meng Mian Wang Wei Wu Jianfeng Chen 2014Particuology2014,12,3:5
9Al^(3+)/graphene composites for electrochemical detection of DNA cleavage显示文摘Herein, we present the electrochemical co-deposition of Al3+/graphene composites directly from an aqueous mixture containing graphene oxide (GO) and Al3+. The obtained Al3+/graphene composites with good electrochemical activity were regarded as an appropriate immobilization platform for double-stranded DNA (dsDNA). The nontoxic redox probe xanthurenic acid (XA) was successfully applied to recognize single-stranded DNA and dsDNA. 10Influence of crucible material on inclusions in 95Cr saw-wire steel deoxidized by Si–Mn显示文摘To investigate the interaction mechanism between 95 Cr saw-wire steel and different refractories,we conducted laboratory experiments at 1873 K.Five crucible materials(SiO2,Al2 O3,MgO·Al2 O3,MgO,and MgO-CaO)were used.The results indicate that SiO2,Al2 O3,and MgO·Al2 O3 are not suitable for smelting low-oxygen,low-[Al]s 95 Cr saw-wire steel,mainly because they react with the elements in the molten steel and pollute the steel samples.By contrast,MgO-CaO is an ideal choice to produce 95 Cr saw-wire steel.It offers three advantages:(ⅰ)It does not decompose by itself at the steelmaking temperature of 1873 K because it exhibits good thermal stability;(ⅱ)[C],[Si],and[Mn]in molten steel cannot react with it to increase the[O]content;and(ⅲ)it not only desulfurizes and dephosphorizes but also removes Al2 O3 inclusions from the steel simultaneously.As a result,the contents of the main elements([C],[Si],[Mn],[Cr],N,T.O(total oxygen))in the steel are not affected and the content of impurity elements([Al]s,P,and S)can be perfectly controlled within the target range.Furthermore,the number and size of inclusions in the steel samples decrease sharply when the MgO-CaO crucible is used.Yang Li Chang-yong Chen Guo-qing Qin Zhou-hua Jiang Meng Sun Kui Chen 2020International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2020,27,8:3
11Thin-layered MoS_2/polyaniline nanocomposite for highly sensitive electrochemical detection of chloramphenicol显示文摘In this study, we synthesized molybdenum disulfide/polyaniline(MoS_2/PANI) nanocomposite via in situ polymerization of aniline in the presence of thin-layered MoS_2. The as-prepared MoS_2/PANI nanocomposite obtained an improved electrochemical performance due to the physisorption interaction between aromatic aniline and the basal plane of MoS_2. Furthermore, we constructed a new kind of electrochemical sensor based on MoS_2/PANI nanocomposite for the detection of chloramphenicol, which showed an excellent performance. 12Ammonia leaching mechanism and kinetics of LiCoO_(2) material from spent lithium-ion batteries显示文摘In this paper,the ammonia leaching process and high-energy ball milling method were adapted to recover spent LiCoO_(2) material.The ammonia reduction leaching mechanism of LiCoO_(2) material in the ammonia-sodium sulfite-ammonium chloride system was elucidated.Compared with untreated LiCoO_(2) material,the leaching equilibrium time of LiCoO_(2) after ball-milled for 5 h was reduced from 48 h to 4 h,and the leaching efficiency of lithium and cobalt was improved from 69.86%and 70.80%to 89.86%and98.22%,respectively.Importantly,the apparent activation energy and leaching kinetic equation of the reaction was calculated by the shrinking core reaction model,indicating that the reaction was controlled by the chemical reaction.Dongmin Li Bao Zhang Xing Ou Jiafeng Zhang Kui Meng Guanjun Ji Pengfei Li Jianhui Xu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7:2
13Building Distributed Web GIS: A Mobile Agent Based Approach显示文摘The diversity of GISs and the wide spread availability of WWW have led to an increasing amount of research on integrating a variety of heterogeneous and autonomous GISs in a cooperative environment to construct a new generation of GIS characterizing in open architecture, distributed computation, interoperability, and extensibility. Our on going research project MADGIS (Mobile Agent based Distributed Geographic Information System) is reported, in which we propose the architecture of MADGIS to meet the requirements of integrating distributed GIS applications under Internet environment. We first describe the architecture of MADGIS, and detailed discussions focusing on the structure of client site, server site and mobile agent in MADGIS. 16CdS magic-size clusters exhibiting one sharp ultraviolet absorption singlet peaking at 361 nm显示文摘We report,for the first time,the synthesis of CdS magic-size clusters (MSCs) which exhibit a single sharp absorption peaking at ~ 361 nm,along with sharp band edge photoemission at ~ 377 nm and broad trap emission peaking at ~ 490 nm.These MSCs are produced in a singleensemble form without the contamination of conventional quantum dots (QDs) and/or other-bandgap clusters.They are denoted as MSC-361.We present the details of several controlled syntheses done in oleylamine (OLA),using C,d(NO3)2 or C,d(OAc)2 as a C,d source and thioacetamide (TAA) or elementary sulfur (S) as a S source.A high synthetic reproducibility of the reaction of Cd(NO3)2 and TAA to single-ensemble MSC-361 is achieved,the product of which is not contaminated by other bandgap clusters and/or QDs.In some cases,the reaction product exhibits an additional absorption peak at ~ 322 nm.We demonstrate that the two peaks,at 361 and 322 nm,do not evolve synchronously.Therefore,the 322 nm peak is not a higher order electronic transition of MSC-361,but due to the presence of another ensemble,namely MSC-322.The present study suggests that there is an outstanding need for the development of a physical model to narrow the knowledge gap regarding the electronic structure in these colloidal semiconductor CdS MSCs.Junbin Tang Juan Hui Meng Zhang Hongsong Fan Nelson Rowell Wen Huang Yingnan Jiang Xiaoqin Chen Kui Yu 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:1

19Precursor compound enabled formation of aqueous-phase CdSe magic-size clusters at room temperature显示文摘The formation pathway of aqueous-phase colloidal semiconductor magic-size clusters(MSCs)remains unrevealed.In the present work,we demonstrate,for the first time,a precursor compound(PC)-enabled formation pathway of aqueous-phase CdSe MSCs exhibiting a sharp absorption peaking at about 420 nm(MSC-420).The CdSe MSC-420 is synthesized with CdCl2 and selenourea as the respective Cd and Se sources,and with 3-mercaptopropionic acid or L-cysteine as a ligand.Absorption featureless CdSe PCs form first in the aqueous reaction batches,which transform to MSC-420 in the presence of primary amines.The coordination between primary amine and Cd^(2+)on PCs may be responsible to the PC-to-MSC transformation.Upon increasing the reactant concentrations or decreasing the CdCl_(2)-ligand feed molar ratios,the Cd precursor self-assembles into large aggregates,which may encapsulate the resulting CdSe PCs and inhibit their transformation to MSC-420.The present study sheds essential light on the syntheses and formation mechanisms of nanocrystals.Min Zhao Qingyuan Chen Yongcheng Zhu Yuehui Liu Chunchun Zhang Gang Jiang Meng Zhang Kui Yu 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:1
20Analysis on the Correlated Characteristics between Spring Precipitation in the Arid Region of Northwest China and Global Sea Surface Temperature显示文摘[Objective] The research aimed to study the correlated characteristics between spring precipitation in the arid region of Northwest China and global sea surface temperature. [Method] Based on GPCP global monthly precipitation data and NOAA ERSST sea surface temperature data during 1979-2008, the precipitation characteristics in the arid region of Northwest China in 30 years and its correlated distribution characteristics with the global sea surface temperature were analyzed by using the correlation and composite analysis methods. [Result] Spring rainfall presented the fluctuation increasing in the arid region of Northwest China during 1979-2008. The sea surface temperature of Indian Ocean in 15° S-22° N, 45°-105° E had the continuous influence on spring precipitation in the arid region of Northwest China. It could be as a stable factor for forecasting spring precipitation in the arid region zone of Northwest China. When the sea surface temperature was higher in Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, maybe spring precipitation in the arid region of Northwest China was more. If the sea surface temperature in the equatorial Eastern Pacific Ocean in prior summer, autumn and winter was higher, it was favorable for spring precipitation in the arid region of Northwest China in the next year. The sea surface temperature field in Arabian Sea, Central Indian Ocean and Western Pacific Ocean was the key factor which affected spring precipitation in the arid region of Northwest China.
