1Bile acid increases expression of the histamine-producing enzyme,histidine decarboxylase,in gastric cells显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of bile acid on the expression of histidine decarboxylase(HDC),which is a major enzyme involved in histamine production,and gene expression of gastric transcription factors upon cooperative activation.METHODS:HDC expression was examined by immunohistochemistry,reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction,and promoter assay in human gastric precancerous tissues,normal stomach tissue,and gastric cancer cell lines.The relationship between gastric precancerous state and HDC expression induced by bile acid was determined.The association between the expression of HDC and various specific transcription factors in gastric cells was also evaluated.MKN45 and AGS human gastric carcinoma cell lines were transfected with farnesoid X receptor(FXR),small heterodimer partner(SHP),and caudal-type homeodomain transcription factor(CDX)1 expression plasmids.The effects of various transcription factors on HDC expression were monitored by luciferase-reporter promoter assay.RESULTS:Histamine production and secretion in the stomach play critical roles in gastric acid secretion and in the pathogenesis of gastric diseases.Here,we show that bile acid increased the expression of HDC,which is a rate-limiting enzyme of the histamine production pathway.FXR was found to be a primary regulatory transcription factor for bile acid-induced HDC expression.In addition,the transcription factors CDX1 and SHP synergistically enhanced bile acid-induced elevation of HDC gene expression.We confirmed similar expression patterns for HDC,CDX1,and SHP in patient tissues.CONCLUSION:HDC production in the stomach is associated with bile acid exposure and its related transcriptional regulation network of FXR,SHP,and CDX1.Hye Jin Ku Hye Young Kim Hyeong Hoe Kim Hee Ju Park Jae Hun Cheong 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,1:3

10Formation of interfacial brittle phases sigma phase and IMC in hybrid titanium-to-stainless steel joint显示文摘The microstructures of the brazed joints for commercially pure Ti and stainless steel were investigated by the applications of various filler alloys including Ag-, Ti-, Zr- and Ni-based alloys. Generally, the dissimilar joints between Ti and stainless steel were dominated by the Ti-based intermetallic compounds (IMCs), e.g. (Ti, Zr)2(Fe, Ni), TiFe, TiCu, and Ti2(Fe, Ni), due to a significant dissolution of Ti from the base metal. The (Fe-Cr) σ phase was also observed near the stainless steel due to a segregation of Cr into the interface region. 19Radial Pulse and Electrocardiography Modulation by Mild Thermal Stresses Applied to Feet: An Exploratory Study with Randomized, Crossover Design显示文摘Objective:To investigate the changes in radial pulse induced by thermal stresses(TSs).Methods:Sixty subjects were enrolled.Using an open-label,2x2 crossover randomization design,both feet of each subject were immersed in 15%:water for cold stress(CS)and in 40 X:water for heat stress(HS)for 5 min each.Radial pulse,respiration and electrocardiogram(ECG)signals were recorded before,during and immediately after the TSs.Results:The an alysis of heart rate variability revealed that CS in creased the low-freque ncy(LF)and high-frequency(HF)components(P<0.05)and that HS reduced the LF and HF components(P<0.01).Both TSs reduced the normalized LF,increased the normalized HF,and reduced the LF/HF ratio.The differences in the ECG signals were more dominant during the TS sessions,but those in the radial pulse signals became more domi nant immediately after the TS sessi ons.CS decreased the pulse depth(P<0.01)and in creased the radial augme ntation in dex(P<0.1),and HS in creased the pulse pressure(P<0.1)and sube ndocardial viability ratio(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in pulse rate during the three time sequences of each TS.The respiration rate was increased(P<0.1),and the pulse rate per respiration(P/R ratio)was significantly decreased(P<0.05)with CS.The HF region(10-30 Hz)of the pulse spectral density was suppressed during both TSs.Conclusions:CS induced vasoconstriction and sympathetic reactions,and HS induced vasodilation and parasympathetic reacti ons.Based on defi nitions used in pulse diag no sis,we made the novel discoveries that the pulse became slower(decreased P/R ratio),more floating and tenser under CS and that the HF region of the spectral power decreased significantly under both TSs.Jang-Han Bae Boncho Ku Young Ju Jeon Hyunho Kim Jihye Kim Haebeom Lee Jong Yeol Kim Jaeuk U.Kim 2020Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2020,26,4:0
