2Targeting ferroptosis suppresses osteocyte glucolipotoxicity and alleviates diabetic osteoporosis显示文摘Diabetic osteoporosis(DOP) is the leading complication continuously threatening the bone health of patients with diabetes. A key pathogenic factor in DOP is loss of osteocyte viability. However, the mechanism of osteocyte death remains unclear. Here, we identified ferroptosis, which is iron-dependent programmed cell death, as a critical mechanism of osteocyte death in murine models of DOP. The diabetic microenvironment significantly enhanced osteocyte ferroptosis in vitro, as shown by the substantial lipid peroxidation, iron overload, and aberrant activation of the ferroptosis pathway. RNA sequencing showed that heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) expression was notably upregulated in ferroptotic osteocytes. Further findings revealed that HO-1 was essential for osteocyte ferroptosis in DOP and that its promoter activity was controlled by the interaction between the upstream NRF2 and c-JUN transcription factors. Targeting ferroptosis or HO-1 efficiently rescued osteocyte death in DOP by disrupting the vicious cycle between lipid peroxidation and HO-1 activation, eventually ameliorating trabecular deterioration. 5Load curve smoothing strategy based on unified state model of different demand side resources显示文摘Renewable energy based distributed generation(DG) has the potential to reach high penetration levels in the residential region. However, its integration at the demand side will cause rapid power fluctuations of the tieline in the residential region. The traditional generators are generally difficult to manage rapid power fluctuations due to their insufficient efficiency requirements and low responding speed. With an effective control strategy, the demand side resources(DSRs) including DGs, electric vehicles and thermostatically-controlled loads at thedemand side, are able to serve as the energy storage system to smooth the load fluctuations. However, it is a challenge to properly model different types of DSRs. To solve this problem, a unified state model is first developed to describe the characteristics of different DSRs. Then a load curve smoothing strategy is proposed to offset the load fluctuations of the tie-line of the residential region, where a control matrix deduced from the unified state model is introduced to manage the power outputs of different DSRs,considering the response order and the comfort levels.Finally, a residential region with households is used to validate the load curve smoothing strategy based on the unified state model, and the results show that the power fluctuation rate of the tie-line is significantly decreased.Meanwhile, comparative study results are shown to demonstrate the advantages of the unified state model based load curve smoothing strategy.Mingshen WANG Yunfei MU Tao JIANG Hongjie JIA Xue LI Kai HOU Tong WANG 2018Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,3:8
6Application of video-assisted thoracic surgery in the standard operation for thoracic tumors显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the short-term outcomes of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for thoracic tumors. Methods: The data of 1,790 consecutive patients were retrospectively reviewed. These patients underwent VATS pulmonary resections, VATS esophagectomies, and VATS resections of mediastinal tumors or biopsies at the Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences between January 2009 and January 2012. Results: There were 33 patients converted to open thoracotomy (OT, 1.84%). The overall morbidity and mortality rate was 2.79% (50/1790) and 0.28% (5/1790), respectively. The overall hospitalization and chest tube duration were shorter in the VATS lobectomy group (n=949) than in the open thoracotomy (OT) lobectomy group (n=753). There were no significant differences in morbidity rate, mortality rate and operation time between the two groups. In the esophageal cancer patients, no significant difference was found in the number of nodal dissection, chest tube duration, morbidity rate, mortality rate, and hospital length of stay between the VATS esophagectomy group (n=81) and open esophagectomy group (n=81). However, the operation time was longer in the VATS esophagectomy group. In the thymoma patients, there was no significant difference in the chest tube duration, morbidity rate, mortality rate, and hospital length of stay between the VATS thymectomy group (n=41) and open thymectomy group (n=41). However, the operation time was longer in the VATS group. The median tumor size in the VATS thymectomy group was comparable with that in the OT group. Conclusions: In early-stage (I/II) non-small cell lung cancer patients who underwent lobectomies, VATS is comparable with the OT approach with similar short-term outcomes. In patients with resectable esophageal cancer, VATS esophagectomy is comparable with OT esophagectomy with similar morbidity and mortality. VATS thymectomy for Masaoka stage I and II thymoma is feasible and safe, and tumor size is not contraindicated. 7Maximum entropy based probabilistic load flow calculation for power system integrated with wind power generation显示文摘Distributed generation including wind turbine(WT) and photovoltaic panel increases very fast in recent years around the world, challenging the conventional way of probabilistic load flow(PLF) calculation. Reliable and efficient PLF method is required to take this chage into account.This paper studies the maximum entropy probabilistic density function reconstruction method based on cumulant arithmetic of linearized load flow formulation,and then develops a maximum entropy based PLF(MEPLF) calculation algorithm for power system integrated with wind power generation(WPG). Compared with traditional Gram–Charlier expansion based PLF(GC-PLF)calculation method, the proposed ME-PLF calculation algorithm can obtain more reliable and accurate probabilistic density functions(PDFs) of bus voltages and branch flows in various WT parameter scenarios. It can solve thelimitation of GC-PLF calculation method that mistakenly gains negative values in tail regions of PDFs. Linear dependence between active and reactive power injections of WPG can also be effectively considered by the modified cumulant calculation framework. Accuracy and efficiency of the proposed approach are validated with some test systems. 8Combined genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic an alyses provide in sights into chayote (Sechium edule) evolution and fruit development显示文摘Chayote(Sechium edule)is an agricultural crop in the Cucurbitaceae family that is rich in bioactive components.To enhance genetic research on chayote,we used Nanopore third-generation sequencing combined with Hi-C data to assemble a draft chayote genome.A chromosome-level assembly anchored on 14 chromosomes(N50 contig and scaffold sizes of 8.40 and 46.56 Mb,respectively)estimated the genome size as 606.42 Mb,which is large for the Cucurbitaceae,with 65.94%(401.08 Mb)ofthe genome comprising repetitive sequences;28,237 protein-coding genes were predicted.Comparative genome analysis indicated that chayote and snake gourd diverged from sponge gourd and that a whole-genome duplication(WGD)event occurred in chayote at 25±4 Mya.Transcriptional and metabolic analysis revealed genes involved in fruit texture,pigment,fl avor,fl avonoids,antioxidants,and plant hormones during chayote fruit development.The analysis of the genome,transcriptome,and metabolome provides insights into chayote evolution and lays the groundwork for future research on fruit and tuber development and genetic improvements in chayote.Anzhen Fu Qing Wang Jianlou Mu Lili Ma Changlong Wen Xiaoyan Zhao Lipu Gao Jian Li Kai Shi Yunxiang Wang Xuechuan Zhang Xuewen Zhang Fengling Wang Donald Grierson Jinhua Zuo 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:6
9The evolution of microstructure and texture of AZ80 Mg alloy cup-shaped pieces processed by rotating backward extrusion显示文摘This study proposed an effective plastic deformation technique,rotating backward extrusion(RBE),for producing high performance AZ80 magnesium alloy cup-shaped pieces.The RBE process was carried on the Gleeble-3500 test machine at 653 K,and the conventional backward extrusion(CBE)was also conducted for comparison.A detailed microstructure analysis was performed using the optical microscopy(OM)and electron back-scatter diffraction(EBSD).The results shown that the equivalent strain and deformation uniformity of the cup pieces could be substantially increased by the RBE process compared with the CBE process.Furthermore,the RBE process could significantly improve the grain refining capacity and the proportion of dynamic recrystallization(DRX),of which the maximum reduction of grain size was 88.60%,and the maximum increase of DRX proportion was 55.30%in the cup bottom.The main deformation mechanism of the RBE process was the discontinuous DRX(DDRX),while the continuous DRX(CDRX)was also occurred in the cup transition.Compared with the CBE sample,the texture of the cup bottom was weakened for the RBE sample.The microhardness value of the RBE sample was higher than that of the CBE sample,which can be attributed to the grain refinement strengthening.Xin Che Qiang Wang Beibei Dong Mu Meng Zhi Gao Kai Liu Jin Ma Fulai Yang Zhiming Zhang 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,5:4
10Expression of interleukin 6 in brain and colon of rats with TNBS-induced colitis显示文摘AIM:To characterise expression of interleukin 6(IL-6),a potent proinflammatory cytokine,in the occurrence and development of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) and investigate its effect on neuroimmunomodulation and immune homeostasis regulation.METHODS:In this study,rats with colitis induced by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS) were sacrificed on days 3,7,14,21 and 28 after induction.In the controls,the TNBS was just replaced by equivalent amount of phosphate buffered solution(PBS,0.01 mol/L).IL-6 mRNA expression in brain and colon tissues in each phase was evaluated by real-time reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction,and cellular localisation and protein level of IL-6 was determined by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:At day 7,mRNA expression of IL-6 was significantly higher in the colon and brain of IBD rats than that of the controls.The protein level was also significantly higher in colon,hypothalamus and cerebral cortex of IBD rats compared with the controls.So there are similar temporal trends in IL-6 mRNA expression and protein levels in all positions with a persistent increase to a peak at day 7,followed by a decline and gradual return to normal levels.CONCLUSION:These results revealed that changes in IL-6 expression in brain and colon tissues occur in different phases of IBD.Therefore,we propose that the nerve centre regulates and controls the occurrence and development of IBD via IL-6.Wang, Kai Yuan, Chuan-Ping Wang, Wei Yang, Zhan-Qing Cui, Wei Mu, Lian-Zhi Yue, Zhan-Peng Yin, Xiu-Ling Hu, Zhong-Ming Liu, Ju-Xiong 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,18:3
11High Spatial Resolution and High Temporal Frequency(30-m/15-day) Fractional Vegetation Cover Estimation over China Using Multiple Remote Sensing Datasets:Method Development and Validation显示文摘High spatial resolution and high temporal frequency fractional vegetation cover(FVC) products have been increasingly in demand to monitor and research land surface processes. This paper develops an algorithm to estimate FVC at a 30-m/15-day resolution over China by taking advantage of the spatial and temporal information from different types of sensors: the 30-m resolution sensor on the Chinese environment satellite(HJ-1) and the 1-km Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS). The algorithm was implemented for each main vegetation class and each land cover type over China. First, the high spatial resolution and high temporal frequency normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) was acquired by using the continuous correction(CC) data assimilation method. Then, FVC was generated with a nonlinear pixel unmixing model. Model coefficients were obtained by statistical analysis of the MODIS NDVI. The proposed method was evaluated based on in situ FVC measurements and a global FVC product(GEOV1 FVC). Direct validation using in situ measurements at 97 sampling plots per half month in 2010 showed that the annual mean errors(MEs) of forest, cropland, and grassland were-0.025, 0.133, and 0.160, respectively, indicating that the FVCs derived from the proposed algorithm were consistent with ground measurements [R2 = 0.809,root-mean-square deviation(RMSD) = 0.065]. An intercomparison between the proposed FVC and GEOV1 FVC demonstrated that the two products had good spatial–temporal consistency and similar magnitude(RMSD approximates 0.1). 12The genome and transcriptome analysis of snake gourd provide insights into its evolution and fruit development and ripening显示文摘Snake gourd(Trichosanthes anguina L.),which belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family,is a popular ornamental and food crop species with medicinal value and is grown in many parts of the world.Although progress has been made in its genetic improvement,the organization,composition,and evolution of the snake gourd genome remain largely unknown.Here,we report a high-quality genome assembly for snake gourd,comprising 202 contigs,with a total size of 919.8 Mb and an N50 size of 20.1 Mb.These findings indicate that snake gourd has one of the largest genomes of Cucurbitaceae species sequenced to date.The snake gourd genome assembly harbors 22,874 protein-coding genes and 80.0%of the genome consists of repetitive sequences.Phylogenetic analysis reveals that snake gourd is closely related to sponge gourd but diverged from their common ancestor~33–47 million years ago.The genome sequence reported here serves as a valuable resource for snake gourd genetic research and comparative genomic studies in Cucurbitaceae and other plant species.In addition,fruit transcriptome analysis reveals the candidate genes related to quality traits during snake gourd fruit development and provides a basis for future research on snake gourd fruit development and ripening at the transcript level.Lili Ma Qing Wang Jianlou Mu Anzhen Fu Changlong Wen Xiaoyan Zhao Lipu Gao Jian Li Kai Shi Yunxiang Wang Xuewen Zhang Xuechuan Zhang Zhangjun Fei Donald Grierson Jinhua Zuo 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

14Wafer-scale patterned growth of type-II Dirac semimetal platinum ditelluride for sensitive room-temperature terahertz photodetection显示文摘As the lastly unexplored electromagnetic wave,terahertz(THz)radiation has been exploited in a plenty of contexts such as fundamental research,military and civil fields.Most recently,representative two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetal,platinum ditelluride(PtTe_(2))has attracted considerable research interest in THz detection due to its unique physical properties.However,to achieve practical applications,the low-cost,large-scale,controllable synthesis and efficient patterning of 2D materials are key requirements,which remain a challenge for PtTe_(2)and its photodetectors(PDs).Herein,a facile approach is developed to obtain waferscale(2-inches)patterned PtTe_(2)arrays using one-step tellurium-vapor transformation method and micro-Nano technology.PtTe_(2)PD arrays are fabricated with the as-grown PtTe_(2)arrays evenly distributed on a 2-inch wafer,exhibiting high conductivity(~2.7×105 S m^(-1))and good electrical consistency.Driven by the Dirac fermions,PtTe_(2)PDs achieve a broadband(0.02-0.3 THz)response with a fast response speed(~4.7μs),a high sensitivity(~47 pW Hz^(-1/2))and high-resolution transmission THz-imaging capability,which displays the potential of large-area THz array imaging.These results are one step towards the practical applications of integrated PD arrays based on 2D materials.Zhuo Dong Wenzhi Yu Libo Zhang Liu Yang Luyi Huang Yan Zhang Zeqian Ren Haoran Mu Cheng Chen Junrong Zhang Jie Li Lin Wang Kai Zhang 2023InfoMat2023,5,5:1
15Simulation of incompressible multiphase flows with complex geometry using etching multiblock method显示文摘The incompressible two-phase flows are simulated using combination of an etching multiblock method and a diffuse interface(DI) model, particularly in the complex domain that can be decomposed into multiple rectangular subdomains. The etching multiblock method allows natural communications between the connected subdomains and the efficient parallel computation. The DI model can consider two-phase flows with a large density ratio, and simulate the flows with the moving contact line(MCL) when a geometric formulation of the MCL model is included. Therefore, combination of the etching method and the DI model has potential to deal with a variety of two-phase flows in industrial applications. The performance is examined through a series of numerical experiments. The convergence of the etching method is firstly tested by simulating single-phase flows past a square cylinder, and the method for the multiphase flow simulation is validated by investing drops dripping from a pore. The numerical results are compared with either those from other researchers or experimental data. 19MoS_(2) on topological insulator Bi_(2)Te_(3) thin films:Activation of the basal plane for hydrogen reduction显示文摘2H-MoS_(2) is a well-studied and promising non-noble metal electrocatalyst for heterogeneous reactions,such as the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).The performance is largely limited by the chemically inert basal plane,which is unfavorable for surface adsorption and reactions.Herein,we report a facile method to boost the HER activities of 2H-MoS_(2) by coupling with epitaxial Bi2Te3 topological insulator films.The as-obtained MoS_(2)/Bi2Te3/SrTiO3 catalyst exhibits prominent HER catalytic activities compared to that of pure MoS_(2) structures,with a 189 mV decrease in the overpotential required to reach a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) and a low Tafel slope of 58 mV dec−1.Theoretical investigations suggest that the enhanced catalytic activity originates from the charge redistribution at the interface between the Bi2Te3topological insulator films and the MoS_(2) layer.The delocalized sp-derived topological surface states could denote electrons to the MoS_(2) layer and activate the basal plane for hydrogen adsorption.This study demonstrates the potential of manipulating topological surface states to design high-performance electrocatalysts.Guowei Lia Jue Huang Qun Yang Liguo Zhang Qingge Mu Yan Sun Stuart Parkin Kai Chang Claudia Felser 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,11:1
