| 2 | Numerical simulation based on two-directional freeze and thaw algorithm for thermal diffusion model显示文摘Freeze-thaw processes significantly modulate hydraulic and thermal characteristics of soil. The changes in the frost and thaw fronts(FTFs) affect the water and energy cycles between the land surface and the atmosphere. Thus, the frozen soil comprising permafrost and seasonally frozen soil has important effects on the land surface hydrology in cold regions. In this study, a two-directional freeze and thaw algorithm is incorporated into a thermal diffusion equation for simulating FTFs. A local adaptive variable-grid method is used to discretize the model. Sensitivity tests demonstrate that the method is stable and FTFs can be tracked continuously. The FTFs and soil temperature at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau D66 site are simulated hourly from September 1, 1997 to September 22, 1998. | 4 | Design and fabrication of compact Ge-on-SOI coupling structure显示文摘In this paper, we have proposed and demonstrated a simple approach to fabricate vertical integrated structure for coupling between active germanium (Ge) waveguide and silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguide. The active Ge waveguide is sputtered after etching the underlying passive silicon (Si) waveguide. This method scuttles away from the difficulty involved in the waveguide fabrication by avoiding the etching process for the Ge waveguide, and thereby the waveguide quality is improved. The influences of the coupling structural parameters on the coupling loss are analyzed and discussed. The optimizing parameters are obtained for the fabrication. The minimal coupling loss is experimentally measured about 2.37 dB, and variation tendency of coupling loss against the structural parameters is consistent with the theoretical result. | 11 | Calculation Model for the Steady-State Vibration Amplitude of a New Type of Cascaded Composite Structure-Based Ultrasonic Transducer显示文摘The steady-state vibration amplitude is an important performance indicator of high-frequency ultrasonic transducers for ultrasonically assisted manipulating,machining,and manufacturing.This work aimed to develop a calculation model for the steady-state vibration amplitude of a new type of dual-branch cascaded composite structure-based ultrasonic transducer that can be used in the packaging of microelectronic chips.First,the steady-state vibration amplitude of the piezoelectric vibrator of the transducer was derived from the piezoelectric equation.Second,the vibration transfer matrices of the tapered ultrasonic horns were obtained by combining the vibration equation,the continuous condition of the displacement,and the equilibrium condition of the force.Calculation models for the steady-state vibration amplitude of the two working ends of the transducer were then developed.A series of exciting trials were carried out to test the performance of the models.Comparison between the calculated and measured results for steady-state vibration amplitude showed that the maximum deviation was 0.0221μm,the minimum deviation was 0.0013μm,the average deviation was 0.0097μm,and the standard deviation was 0.0046μm.These values indicated good calculation accuracy,laying a good foundation for the practical application of the proposed transducer. | Hongjie Zhang Xinyue Gao Xiaochen Liu Junqiang Wu | 2023 | Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2023,6,3: | 0 |
